Catching Falling Stardust - February 1st, 1997.
"This carrot-shaped track is actually little more than 5 hundredths of an inch long. It is the trail of a meteoroid through aerogel, exposed to space by the shuttle launched EURECA (European Recoverable Carrier) spacecraft. The meteoroid itself, about a thousandth of an inch in diameter, is visible where it came to rest, just beyond the tip of the carrot. Chemical analyses of interplanetary dust particles similar to this one suggests that some of them may be bits of comets, and represent samples of material from the early stages of the formation of the Solar System. NASA's Stardust mission would attempt to directly collect dust from the tail of a comet and return it to Earth - the first non-lunar sample return mission ever! In addition to peering into the chemistry and history of the Solar System, the composition of cometary dust has important implications for the possibility of past life on Mars."

oh yeah earlier today i saw this weird yellow flash behind the trees in the sky. it was like when the sun is setting behind the trees and the light peaks through the branches but this was at noon, and the sun is nowhere where the yellow flash of light was. it’s also overcast and the sun just looks like a bright white spot amongst the grey clouds.
i thought that maybe it could’ve also been the reflection of headlights (i was sitting in the back of a car looking out the window when i saw the yellow flash in the distance) from a car behind us in the window but there wasn’t any car behind us, and even if there was, the color was unlike any typical white headlight. i didn’t see any other car ahead of us as well
which makes me think that it was either a bit of space debris burning up, but then i’m surprised nobody else mentioned it (besides my little sister but i can’t trust what she says lmao) or i just straight up hallucinated it. still weird either way

SpaceTime Series 28 Episode 19 The Astronomy, Space and Science News Podcast New Insights into Earth's Water, Asteroid Bennu's Composition, and Marsquake Triggers In this episode of SpaceTime, we investigate a groundbreaking study that challenges previous beliefs about when water arrived on Earth. New findings suggest that water may have come in during the later stages of Earth’s formation, providing fresh perspectives on the origins of life on our planet. The study highlights the importance of molybdenum isotopes in understanding the timing of water delivery and the conditions necessary for life. Searles Lake and Asteroid Bennu We also explore the intriguing similarities between Searles Lake in California and the asteroid Bennu, as researchers find that both environments share common water-soluble minerals. The Osiris Rex mission has revealed that Bennu's samples contain evaporite minerals formed under wet conditions, shedding light on the potential for life-sustaining elements in our solar system's past. Meteoroid Impacts and Marsquakes Additionally, a new study indicates that meteoroid impacts may play a more significant role in triggering marsquakes than previously considered. Analyses from NASA's Mars InSight lander reveal that many seismic events on Mars could be linked to impacts, challenging existing assumptions about the planet's seismic activity. 00:00 Space Time Series 28 Episode 19 for broadcast on 12 February 2025 00:49 Water arrival on Earth 06:30 Searles Lake and asteroid Bennu 12:15 Meteoroid impacts and Marsquakes 18:00 Changes in men's height and weight 22:45 Discovery of ancient bird fossils in Antarctica 27:00 The best way to boil an egg 30:15 AI and national security concerns www.spacetimewithstuartgary.com www.bitesz.com 🌏 Get Our Exclusive NordVPN deal here ➼ www.bitesz.com/nordvpn. Tug Of War | A Meteor Shower?
File:Meteoroid meteor meteorite.gif I had a lot of dreams. Unfortunately, I forgot to record any of them until about 2 hours after waking up. Dream 1 One dream possibly started with me working at a fictional version of the library, but I am not sure. Next I remember going to a shopping center or shopping mall. As I was walking into one of the businesses, I noticed that my uncle CE was…

Fireball! - February 26th, 1996.
"On rare but spectacular occasions, fireballs, meteors brighter than the brightest stars, flash through the heavens - sometimes making audible sounds and occasionally surviving to strike the Earth's surface. The path of one such fireball, recorded in January of 1995, skies over Hannover Germany, is shown above, the brilliant meteor easily outshining the stars of the constellation Orion (visible at the far right). In fact, for this brief moment, Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, is overwhelmed as the image of the fireball grazes it. This dramatic event was recorded by a video camera observation technique known as MOVIE. Interplanetary space is littered with meteoroids, "rocks" tens of yards in diameter and less. Striking the Earth's atmosphere at high relative speeds, they leave visible trails known as meteors or, more poetically, "shooting stars". The trails are created when the intense heat caused by friction vaporises them. Fireballs can be caused by meteroids weighing small fractions of an ounce which do not survive to reach the ground. Remnants of larger ones, which do reach the ground after running this fiery gauntlet, are called meteorites. Though fireballs are rare, meteors are visible on any clear night of the year. Even outside the predicted regular meteor shower events, patient observers in dark sky areas can see several an hour - by just looking up!"

I’m rereading Void today as I prepare for more writing and had a depressing realization:
If the crew had launched on the day I published the first chapter, they would have made it to Europa by now. 😅

NASA's Mars InSight Lander may be resting on the Red Planet in retirement, but data from the robotic explorer is still leading to seismic discoveries on Earth. In one of the latest studies using data from the spacecraft, an international team of scientists led by a Brown University researcher found that Mars may be getting bombarded by space rocks at more frequent rates than previously thought. Impact rates could be two to 10 times higher than previously estimated, depending on the size of the meteoroids, according to the study published in Science Advances. "It's possible Mars is more geologically active than we thought, which holds implications for the age and evolution of the planet's surface," said lead researcher Ingrid Daubar, an associate professor of Earth, environmental and planetary sciences at Brown.
