Cover of the day: Day 2: Postcard sent on the centennial of the death of a Slovenian poet

Welp, I decided to continue this for my viewerbase of 0 :( But hey, here's hope that'll increase to 1 (OR EVEN MORE) in the near future

This postcard features a photograph of a bust of Slovenian poet France Prešeren, the description on the postcard for the bust is "Alojzij Gangl, France Prešeren, Marble 1895" (Here's another photo of the bust), According to NUK (National and University Library of Slovenia) This postcard was printed in 1949. The date this was sent is also interesting; February 8th 1949 which was the 100 year anniversary of Prešeren's death and the date the stamp on the cover was sent (The stamp, also being issued for the anniversary).

This postcard was sent from Metlika, a town in southeastern Slovenia. and Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia (The People's Republic of Slovenia, which was part of Yugoslavia at the time)

The message on the postcard says "In memory of today's date, less scary/horrifying"(Sorry the translation is a bit ambiguous)

Alberi sui binari dopo la nevicata: deraglia un treno in Slovenia

Nel sudest della Slovenia un treno è deragliato ferendo in modo non grave cinque persone. L’incidente è avvenuto vicino la città di Novo Mesto. L’autorità ferroviaria ha spiegato che il deragliamento è stato causato dagli alberi caduti sui binari durante le recenti nevicate. La linea Metlika–Ljubljana resterà chiusa fino a giovedì pomeriggio. source

Skoraj tisoč evrov je župan občine Metlika Darko Zevnik (SD)  mimo zakona lani nakazal Listi za Metliko in Glasu neodvisnih, je ugotovili računsko sodišče pri pregledu poslovanja te občine.  Ugotovitve iz revizije na občini Metlika so bile objavljene ta teden.

Stranke ne bi, denar pa bi

Listam občinskih svetnikov, torej nestrankarskim skupinam, je župan nakazoval mesečne dotacije za politične…
