Fun Big- names and their gibes

Bigheart: a cat with a big heart or known for loyalty!

Bigcall/song: a cat with a large voice potentially reminiscent of a lions of unchecked, considered an attractive quality?

Bigleap/flight/jump: yk those videos of cats jumping to the ceiling or however high? That’s this cat

Bigberry: a very happy go cat, maybe a beloved warrior or queen. Very good elder name for a cat who kept the clan’s morale during stressful times

Bigfur: this is just such a fluffy name I bet they give the best hugs and badger rides

Bigleaf: this cat has one thing on their mind! Bringing back the best leaves. Perhaps a tortie or calico and looks like a giant leaf pile?

another skeletal bigberry manzanita - unlike many manzanitas, these don't create a burl and can't regrow from it when burned. their seeds, however, need fire to germinate - though this stand is dead, its children can now grow.

I think it's pretty and also that it looks like a deepdream borzoi monster.

Hello, Followers. Today there is a contest for who grew the largest pumpkin. I am determined to win as to bring more positive attention to BT21. I am sure that I have a good chance, as my pumpkin is too large for my barrel. You can especially see this in the third photograph which I had taken at what would be a highly unflattering angle if I were not so perfect, just so that you may see this. I am not sure what the humans will do with all the oversized fruit entries after the winner is chosen. I think that they should all be turned into food and donated to the nearest homeless shelter. I shall ask when I get to the venue. Arctostaphylos glauca (bigberry manzanita) is a species of manzanita ranging from the central coast of California down halfway through Baja California. The species name "glauca" refers to the blue-gray leaf color which is described as glaucous and often indicates a plant belongs in a bright and dry environment.

It thrives from deserts to mountain slopes where it builds deep seedbanks which rely on fire to germinate. Chemicals washed from the plant with rain inhibits the growth of other plants in the surrounding areas, meaning the seedbanks are easily accessed.

The fruit is considered edible with a thin sticky skin around a pulpy core which becomes extremely hard when mature. The core is dense and woody with usually 5 nutlets fused into a single mass. Despite the extreme hardness of the stone, it is readily apparent that small animals, generally rodents, are able to break them open to get the small seeds inside. In cultivation because it is extremely challenging to separate the seeds from the hull, the fused stone is regarded as being a single seed.

Manzanitas can be hard to identify from imagery, but the large spheroid stones from the bigberry manzanita make the ID much more clear.

I will forage for the leaves of tall, silvery california mugwort for tea, and carefully slice open the skin of a Native prickly pear cactus tuna with the edge of my switchblade. As I lay in the shade of a california sycamore with my horse by my side, I will gaze up at the branches, reaching towards the sky, and watch as western fence and alligator lizards dart up its bark. Young coyotes stalk between the laurel sumac, not nearing too close. The sun sets on this peaceable kingdom as american barn owls awaken from their slumber and take to the night sky.
