Today a small creature arrived, appearing right next to me. If she had been any bigger, she probably would have knocked me over, especially with how fast she was flying. However, she knocked herself unconscious.

I took her to the guild infirmary. If it wasn’t for the small portal she came out of, I would have suspended her to be a native mewn. But, her proportions are slightly different, with smaller ears and her twin tails don't fully split.

Psychic generously gave her a bit of psychic energy to help her recover. I don’t know if her energy was depleted because of the portal or if she used it to open the portal. I think the former, being able to open portals without dimensional quartz is a rare skill.

But back on topic, the home locator spell identified her as from a Mon-class dimension. Part of me wonders if, like me, she is a trans-dimensional hybrid. My best guess is she is part mewn.

But it is entirely possible that the explanation is trans-dimensional convergent evolution.

When she woke up, she was initially panicked, but Psy’s presence helped her calm down. I think she saw Psy as a smaller version of her species. With a bit of strained telepathy, she introduced herself as Mew-A, then corrected her own pronunciation to “Mewa.” She definitely seemed confused when we told her where she was.

She called me a fellow Pokémon, whatever that means!

After some rest, we helped locate her exact home dimension and sent her home. Perhaps one day we can visit her again. She and Psy really seemed to get along.

I definitely want to play with her some more!

Welcome to Mangrove Island Pokemon Sanctuary!

A poke-ask blog set on the beautiful Mangrove Island! This island is home to a plethora of endemic life, this island is mostly untouched by humans. There is one building on the island, a old research station.

The sanctuary was established by Professor Mangrove, a specialist in rare and mythical Pokémon, when he bought the island sixty years ago. He believed the tropical island was prime habitat for the Pokémon Mew, despite no records of the rare Pokémon on the island. Despite his extensive records and notes of the flora and fauna on the island, there are no official records of Mew.

Currently, the island is owned and inhabited by Professor Mangrove’s great granddaughter, Top Ranger Alex and her partner, Gale.

“Realistically speaking, Ditto should be classified as normal/psychic and I will stand by this.

Every other Pokémon that has an illusion ability is just that: an illusion. Illusions that can be seen through or rendered useless. But Ditto? Not only can it transform into the Pokémon it’s copying exactly, but it also copies the moves said pokemon has mastered.

Do you know how many moves a Pokémon can learn??? Do you know how many possible options a Pokémon can have mastered in its kit??? People do not give Zisu enough credit because the answer is A LOT. So tell me how does Ditto know exactly what moves the Pokémon has mastered and how to use them?

Reading the other Pokémon’s mind. That’s psychic type behavior.

I have more thoughts on this honestly, but this is the main idea. Ditto should be normal/psychic, that’s the only way to explain how it can copy specific mastered moves!”

I wonder how much the rest of the Pokémon World knows about Mewtwo and Mew, because, holy shit. Like, I cannot stress enough how much of an ethics violation everything about Mewtwo is. I mean, I’m honestly not opposed to genetic experimentation in real life, but Mewtwo’s upbringing is consistently portrayed to have been a failure in every way to raise a sapient being who is literally a child.

Especially in the games universe, as while the anime had Mewtwo be born in a test tube, the games universe literally states that Mew gave birth to Mewtwo themselves. While later English translations leave this out to avoid exposing children to the concept of birth or whatever, it’s still canon.

Like, they literally kidnapped one of the rarest Pokémon on Earth and then artificially implanted it with their genetic experiment. Holy shit. Like, beyond even just the ethics of artificial insemination on a demonstrably sapient creature, Mewtwo, even as a baby, is consistently portrayed as a fair bit larger than Mew. I don’t think that would be a safe or easy process, is all I’m saying.

And then, after forcing this poor creature to give birth to their experiment, they then take the baby away from it and basically torture the poor child until it (rightly) destroys the lab and escapes, never to see its mother again.

How much do the rest of the world know about what happened in the Pokémon Mansion? The journals were there out in the open for as long as the Mansion has been burnt, so did people read it? The Pokédex knows about Mewtwo, so clearly they did, right? What happened to the company that ordered Mewtwo made?

We know Mr. Fuji has settled down to run a Pokémon sanctuary in Lavender Town, and Blaine runs the Cinnabar Island Gym. How does the world view them for what they did? Does the world know? Do they complain that the Kanto Pokémon League lets a man who was at least somewhat involved in such a cruel experiment run a Gym?
