MONTHLY MFIP UPDATE✨✨

Hey folks 🦐 I finally got the chance to make this month’s MFIP Update cuz god damn life was kicking my ass. College is fine for the most part tbh, just a lot of reading and writing cuz of the specific classes I chose. HOWEVER I have 💥FUCKING PMDD💥 so um skill issue on my part but it’s why I’ve been kinda exhausted as shit this week and was late with the update so my bad folks! (Also for more info on PMDD, click here! I don’t wanna spend this post yapping about it but wanted to leave a resource to spread awareness just in case :3). Also, Imma be tagging some of y'all who have been reading/supporting MFIP consistently just for this post, so yk you guys actually know these updates exist. I was gonna do that for the first ever update but as with many things, I forgor, so I'm doing it now! They’re supposed to come out on the 18th of every month, but yk sometimes life happens and I’m a lil late. It won’t be any earlier than the 18th tho so look out for these once it hits that date! Anywho, cheers to this month’s update!

Alrighty folks we be starting with the Art~!

Alrighty so obvious new thing, WE GOT RAPH’S REF SHEEEEEEEET TEEHEEEEEEE

BRO IM SO HYPE ABOUT IT! It turned out so genuinely amazing and I’m ridiculously proud of it! Especially cuz I honestly thought Raph was gonna be a harder design to figure out yk? I’m not used to drawing his body type, I wasn’t as familiar with his outfit, and even tho I’ve sketched him a few times before, I was just a bit nervous with Raph. Funfact, he’s also been the hardest to figure out how to write back when I was first starting MFIP. I genuinely don’t know why, but I got there eventually (I actually really love writing him now—) and same thing happened with his design!

Since MFIP’s taking place a few months after the Krang invasion, i’m able to take creative liberties and update the boys’ designs more! For some clarification btw, in my story’s lore, the invasion took place in September 2020, and MFIP starts on March 2021. Anywhizzle, my ideas for the boys’ designs is to combine their movie look with their show look, cuz while I do LOVE the black on them, it doesn’t feel right to me to not make them still unique in their own ways. These guys are all about authenticity, so why make their gear exactly the same, ya get me? I basically recolored his show gear to be black and red (and added a lil asymmetry on his legs) cuz I think it makes Raph feel older and more sure about himself, just feels right for him! I also just think the red fade on the black is hella cool! Fun lil color theory i think application, the black is more of a really dark, inky blue, so it makes the red pop out even more! I decided to make a bow out of his mask tails, too! I don’t wanna spoil the entire lore reasoning for it yet (it’ll pop up in the story), but I can indeed say it’s intentional that it looks a little like a lunamoth with damaged tails :3 I also took a BUNCH of creative liberties with his sais’ handles, since we haven’t really seen it much so like idk gaslight yourselves into thinking it’s always been this epic✨✨

Also I gave him his shorts back because FUCK YOU I LIKED THE RED TRIMMMM—

OH I ALMOST FORGOT yes he has longer eyelashes! I saw he grows to have really pretty eyelashes in the future cuz of his turtle species, and I wanted to lean into that by showing they’re starting to grow now :3

Bullshit Gag Because Yes‼️‼️

There ain’t shit to say about this, I just pulled a silly. I saw the fact Donnie was supposed to have a “Doctor Donatello” persona in the deleted episode where Dale turns into a werewolf. I’m really heavily on the train of Leo being the team medic and into medicine in general. I don’t think it makes sense for Donnie to be the medic judging by his sensory issues and this mf being as much of a germaphobe as my mom, and in my opinion it felt too stereotypical anyway to have Donnie be the medic. Ofc, to each their own, and this is just my interpretation of it, but I thought it’d be funny if Donnie still had this persona and was passionate about it, but was like horrifically bad at being a doctor. I made this dumbass sketch that I’ll finish sometime in the future (it’s gonna be a chapter in Arc 3 probably) and I just wanted to share it with yall~

THEY’RE HUMAN NOW⁉️

My ass wanted to show off cuz I’m sketching out some ideas of what my human designs for the boys culd be. I already did Leo’s like ages ago so he’s not on here but I’m realizing as I’m typing this my dumbass forgor to post it so um my bad I will do that in a few days—

But I wanted to design (or more accurately, redesign cuz I did draw em once a while back but I’m not satisfied with them) and I think I ate so far so uh yea. There isn’t any logic to sharing this, I just thought it was cool😭

And actually, imma share them here too just so y’all can see my boy ;w;

As you can see, I want all the boys to look kinda etherial and like they'd turn heads, and I think I am SUCCEEDING SO HARD SO FAR CUZ DAMNNNN THEY'RE ALL PRETTY AS SHIIIIIIIT TEEHEE✨ Also am tryna make sure they actually look Blasian since that's what the canon of my story says they are. I'll talk about them more another time when I have all of them on here~

Chapter Progress Time Whoop Whoooop‼️‼️

I didn’t make much progress on anything this month due to college—again, it’s fine, but there’s a shit ton of time management going on in my part to just manage everything and make sure I’m on track—BUT I am indeed still working on chapter 10. We’re up to 20 pages now which is only two more pages written from last month, but it’s kinda cool writing Donnie and I feel like I’m getting a better understanding of him! One thing I’ve been tryna do is understand autism better as a condition cuz I do wanna acknowledge and show bro’s autism instead of just ignoring it due to a lack of understanding. Donnie ain’t Donnie without it, ya know? I don’t know everything and tbh I would say I still have A LOT to learn on the subject matter, but I’m tryna expand my knowledge every opportunity I get and experimenting with how to better show it! This is to say tho, I’M NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, NOR AN EXPERT ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM. This is what I’m finding and comprehending via my own research, and can tbh end up being wrong so please don’t quote me as a reliable source, I’m still learning ;v;

I remember one of the things I kept hearing about was autism leading people to struggle with empathy. The best way I heard it being described was someone bringing the example of when their friend was upset. That person can’t truly feel their friend’s emotions because they’re not the one experiencing it, so can’t properly understand how it’s making their friend feel. But they can see that their friend is communicating their sadness, and they still try to comfort them and make sure their friend knows they’re there for support. I understood it as bringing logic to emotions in a sense; collecting data and figuring out how to handle the situation based on the data rather than using intuition alone.

I’ve been using that to figure out how Donnie might handle more emotionally subtle situations, where he might try to rationally work through what’s happening and kinda substitute it in place of natural empathy. Like the little tidbit I gave above! Instead of just automatically being able to get vibes that the other person is upset, I felt maybe Donnie would instead notice the fact their tone is kinda different from before; it’s basically a data point. With that data point in mind, he could connect it to past experiences where a tone change could indicate a mood change, and as a result he might conclude that Salena’s tone change means she’s upset. I comprehend it as manually working through empathy rather than it being second nature, if that makes sense. Obviously and thankfully Donnie isn’t gonna spend the entire chapter playing a guessing game or anything with Salena’s emotions, it’s just one lil moment that I thought was cool challenge to myself with when writing him! I really love putting myself in the characters’ shoes when I’m writing them or their dialogue. I highly recommend it as a tool too, since it's helped me a lot with staying in character!

Last Lil Segment Y'all

Aight so, I wanted to try doing something cool if y'all are up for it. I really love rambling about my story and lore and characters blah blah blah, but I don't really know how to do so tbh. I'm not that familiar with how social medias work cuz I just never took it seriously, and I don't wanna just keep being like HEYYYYY ASK BOX IS OPENNNNN like I'm screaming from the top of the hill either. Sooooo insteaddddd

I think it'd be fun to do Q&As here! Or at least something similar. I'll open my ask box again and feel free to send any questions you want; it can be about the story, past lore, design questions, getting to know the characters, absolutely anything! Then when I'm gonna do my update for the month, I'll compile all y'all's asks, (prolly will have to tag to make sure you guys know I answered it, or if you ask anon then uh idk look out for the monthly update) and then answer them during the monthly update as the last section! I think it'll be a cool way to make this feel more interactive, and gives me an excuse to ramble. Don't be afraid to ask potentially spoilery questions either! If it's something I can't spoil yet or even give hints or vague answers about, I'll just say so in the update!

Update (1/19/25): This oneshot is canon to Moths Fly In Packs, by @yourlocalartsonist !!! It takes place in between Chapters 2-3.

Wassup my shadow wizard money gang, today I’m here to present a fluffy oneshot for a friend of mine, @yourlocalartsonist , an amazing writer that has a wonderful story in the works, after this oneshot, please go check out their story “Moths Fly In Packs”. Okay, on to the story!

Tonight didn’t start off the best, Salena was able to finally get back home but due to her aunt’s constant nagging, it was quite difficult to keep up with the verbal annoyance this time. She was able to get to her room and they shut it, locking it as well to make sure no one walks in. Their backpack felt heavier tonight, nothing changed but it was more heavy; after sighing, she gently placed her backpack next to her desk, making sure to not make too much noise or else her aunt would knock on her door and shout, “Don’t give me that attitude!”

Salena figured she could finally rest after the day she just had, changing into some comfortable sleepwear and washing up, she lays on her bed and her body softened by the plush blankets. It was 11:43 pm, way too late for them to be up; Salena exhaled and attempted to close her eyes to let her slumber take over. It was going well, but then there was a loud boom that rumbled her room. Her eyes widened and she shot up from her bed, “What the…” She mumbled to herself.

Peeking over to her window, she saw that the moon was covered with clouds and noticed how dark it was outside. “Oh no…” Salena groaned. ”Did it really have thunder tonight?”

Another loud thunder boomed and Salena squeaked, she covered her head with her covers. The more the loud noises boomed and rumbled, the more her stomach turned. Salena never liked storms, the loud cracks would make her feel anxious. When it was quiet, she peeked her head over to her nightstand to grab her phone and she quickly dialed Jaiden’s number. She knew that they probably wouldn’t answer in this hour, but it was more of a reflex, a habit…

The phone rang, but it only rang…. She waited for Jaiden to pick up, but it kept ringing until the voicemail message cued. Salena frowned then hung up. The two haven’t spoken in a while, but it still hurts when they don't respond to her messages or pick up the phone.

Salena scrolled through her contacts and saw one of her *mutant* friend’s contact, “Leonardo”. She didn’t bother changing it yet due to not being that close to the turtle, but that didn’t matter right now, she needed to be comforted and assured. A flash of lighting cracked and Salena accidentally pressed on Leo’s contact, and there the phone rang. Panicked, she tried to end the call but almost immediately, someone picked up. “Helloooo~” Her shoulders raised and tensed but then responded in a shaky whisper,

“H-Hey…”

“Are you doing alright?” Leo asked.

“Oh yeah! Uhh… Doing g-great!”

Another loud thunder boomed and Salena squealed once again, she tried to speak again but unfortunately for them, the power went out and the signal was lost. She sighed to herself and placed her phone back to the nightstand. It was a bit humiliating to talk to Leo but his voice was oddly calming to her. In the cold room, Salena wrapped herself up in her blankets and hid herself and tried to cover her ears to block out the loud thunder outside.

Closing her eyes, she didn’t see a light blue portal appear in her room, they figured it was just lightning again. But it was until she felt a strange feeling, like if someone was poking her; Salena flinched at the third poke and opened her eyes, she then was met with someone in front of her. Her vision cleared and she was met with bright neon green eyes, a face that was clothed with a blue mask, a clear smile was displayed on his face. Before rolling her eyes, she observed his smile a bit more, it wasn’t a smirk, or a smug smile. It was one of comfort… It was as if he knew something.

She lifted her cover up to fully look at him, Leo chuckled, “There you are.”

“What are you doing here so late?” Salena asked with a raised eyebrow.

“This is my usual hour to be out, remember? Because of this whole situation..?”

“Oh… Right…”

An uncomfortable silence was met with the two of them, before Leo spoke up again, another sound of thunder echoed the room and Salena tried not to flinch, but it was too late.

Leo looked at her again with a confused look, “You okay?”

She didn’t respond, already flushing with embarrassment. It took Leo a minute but after the thunder faded, he then slowly smirked at her.

“Don’t say it-”

“You’re afraid of thunder?!?”

Salena groaned but this made Leo cackle, much to her disappointment. Leo sat on the edge of her bed and turned to her, “I figured you enjoyed thunder, due to you just *loving* that adrenaline rush~”

“It’s different..” Salena responded in a mutter.

Leo saw how tense she was, shown by her raised shoulders and arms that were shaking due to firmly grasping the covers. Shown in a stressed state, Leo sighed not wanting to overwhelm her anymore. He looked over to find her hand; once he did, he gently held it.

“I guess the most hyper of people need their day off.”

Salena’s gaze softened and her eyes looked up at him. As lightning flashed, Leo was able to see a twinkle in her eyes; he would never forget that look for a long time. Salena scooted over to make some space for Leo, she let him ramble about his mission from yesterday for the rest of the night. His voice was like warm honey, comforting and soft. Out of pure comfort, she rested her head on his shoulder. Now it was Leo’s turn to flinch, but he saw how peaceful she looked, so he didn’t bother.

This night was her best night, for one night, she wasn’t phased by the thunder.

✨MFIP UPDATE✨

5/11/2025 | Update 4 | Next Update | Last Update

FUCKING HELL FINALS ARE OVER OH MY GODDDDDD💥 Bros I know I disappeared for a whole semester again, but y’all gotta hear me out I was suffering😵‍💫 Long story short, I’m in some higher level courses than I should be in due to some ✨accidents by the general counselor✨ I say with gritted teeth, and had my first ever experience with a teacher I genuinely wish chose not to teach (which is so surprising considering I don’t usually hate teachers) so I was juggling shit like crazy. I’ll explain more in the lil life update section but hey point is, I didn’t abandon MFIP in my head🦐✨✨✨

This update is definitely gonna be a shorter one since my ass doesn’t really have much to update on, but I still wanted to give y’all a progress check as the summer starts! I’m so excited to be writing more again because MAN I’VE BEEN TWEAKING I MISS MY BABYGIRL SALENAAAA—

I can’t begin to describe how genuinely nice it felt to actually see this long ass chapter done and out, especially cuz it solidifies that we are indeed in the last stretch of Arc One. It’s such an exciting thing for me since I’ve been planning these last few chapters since the very beginning of this arc, and shaking violently tryna wait for everything I was setting up to FINALLY PAY OFF!

Now with Chapter 10 being done,

I have made a good chunk of progress with chapter 11~

I was actually working on it deadass right after chapter 10 out of pure excitement and impatience—

I’d say it’s probably at the halfway mark right now; I worked on it over winter break and a little bit here and there during the first few months of the semester when I was more free. I didn’t get a chance to even look at it afterwards but like that’s fine, it’s better than nothing 🦐👍

I’m not sure how long it’s gonna take for me to finish it though since I really need to regain my energy first after this crazy semester. I’d like to say it’s not as long as the last few chapters have been, but I’ve learned my lesson from saying that ever again so yk we’ll find out when it’s finished💀✨

I also have the Extra chapter already done for Eleven

So thankfully that’s at least completely finished— It just needs to be edited, but I don’t wanna give it to my team until we’re a little closer to Eleven being done. It’s a really interesting little chapter imo but I won’t say too much right now.

That’s honestly all I got done between this and the last update. Like I said, life got a little…..

As per usual, time for a tiny little life update because why not~

Dudes when I tell you, worst semester yet. Like if I thought last semester sucked, this one WAS SO MUCH WORSE. My schedule got messed up by the general counselor and the only way to get me on track was to give me much harder courses for this semester. It genuinely sucked asscheeks and I couldn’t do anything this entire time. I was kinda losing my mind tbh, I barely drew or wrote or did any of my hobbies. Academic burnout definitely hit me too but at least I got over it🍤💥

I really wish I could work more and work faster honestly, but yk I have other priorities and a dream career I’m chasing after. I’m really trying to figure out my footing right now with time and energy management, so it’s everything’s a little rocky.

I have faith it’s gonna get better, though!

I’m learning more about myself every day; more about how I learn, how I process, my motivations, my capabilities. All of that info is letting me slowly but surely find better ways to learn and study so I can allow myself the time I need to pursue my more creative side.

Thankfully now, summer’s finally arrived and I can take a little break from figuring all that out! I’m gonna be going out more and experiencing life this time since my favorite person in the whole wide world moved in with me, and I wanna create some memories with them. But, I’ll also finally get to work on MFIP more and hopefully get at least two more chapters out by the end of this break!

Mini Announcement: I’m Starting a New Project!😋✨💥

I know that sounds super ambitious given what I just said about being overcrowded sometimes, but hear me out y’all-

I really do have the passion for another fanfic I wanna work on so imma do it and see what happens. Not many spoilers for now since everything is so early in development, but it’s related to Stranger Things because I watched that show recently and I had… opinions💀 Not many of which were positive💀💀💀

I’ll give more info on it later when things are a little more settled. I’ll be dedicating I think at least three posts announcing and talking about it properly because there’s so much to say. It’s still gonna be my second priority project though, MFIP stays my first :3

Not much this time but I wanted to give a quick update just so y’all know where I’m at regarding MFIP. Oh boy things are so much more packed than I anticipated but we stay silly! Also wanted to say a quick sorry that I took so long with this update that it’s coming out in June instead of May, and a quick Eid Mubarak for my fellow Muslims~!

MFIP (and life) UPDATE✨✨

1/13/25 | Update 3 | Next Update | Last Update

Oh-ho-ho notice how I didn’t have “monthly” in the title this time~ Yeah, we’re not doing these that frequently anymore. I realized I have a lot going on, and MFIP doesn’t really have progress done every single month; I’m writing a fic, so it’s even harder to show progress without spoiling shit honestly, and I don’t make a new art piece every month. I’m still gonna be doing these updates, though! They’ll happen every 3-4 months—not including hiatuses—so I’ll actually have stuff to share with you guys and not have to worry about scraping for dimes.

Anywhizzle, today’s update is gonna be a long boi, and I wanted to just yap about what was going on this semester in general. I know I shouldn’t be feeling guilty for not working on the fic as much as I wanted to, but I still wanna give you guys an explanation as to why I randomly disappeared for a good few months. Unlike what I usually do however, Imma start with the life bullshit this time instead having it at the end. We’ll get to the actual progress update afterwards, and boy oh boy was progress made. So strap in for the ride folks!

Now Presenting: “What The Fuck Happened To You⁉️”

Okay, so, I’m a little bit of a dumbass—

Dudes if any of you are gonna start college or are currently in college, please think twice before making the same mistake as me. Last semester during the fall, my teeny tiny little apeshit brain thought it would be a good idea to enroll in six courses, four of which are online.

“I can handle it!” I thought, “How bad could it be~” And much like the Onceler, I got motherfucking humbled.

See, I dunno if it’s different anywhere else but for my college, online classes typically mean you get a fresh new load of work to do and hand in every week. Two of the classes my little Einstein heart enrolled for AS ELECTIVES were Criminal Justice and Creative Writing. Ya know! For fun! It’s not like I was enrolled in Calculus Level 2 and the Calc 2 Lab Class for my career requirements at the same time as those or anything—Oh, wait.

Anyways, me being the little genius I was thought that wasn’t enough, and enrolled in two more elective classes. To give myself some credit, one of those classes was Geography which would be a very easy grade. To immediately take that credit back, the other class was Physics: Energy and Environment literally because they wouldn’t let me enroll in an actual Physics class until the Spring semester and my moronic ass was impatient, so gave myself a supplement💀

As you can probably tell, I had massive regrets lmao. The workload was extremely hefty considering both Creative Writing and Criminal Justice had a LOT of reading and writing; both classes would have around 3-4 assignments due for each class at the end of the week. The Physics class took place hella late in the day twice a week, so I’d have to get all that work done before that class started ‘cause I’d be way too exhausted to do anything afterwards.

It was a living hell.

I was working on studying and homework almost every single day for hours on end. Being real with y’all, it added to a lot of stress and irritation, and admittedly a few breakdowns where I legitimately had to just cry to relieve the stress. It’s why I hope no poor soul bites off more than they can chew in a moment of overconfidence or just poor judgement the way I did ‘cause man that semester was so rough. I actually love college too, so getting me to dread it meant I def fucked up with choosing classes. Needless to say, I barely got to work on MFIP for four months. Progress was slow, if any at all.

I’ve talked about this before too, but my mom’s a breast cancer survivor and I’m an only child. Since my dad’s the sole breadwinner, I’m the only one who can take care of my mom. AKA on top of all the pressure from college, I had to manage doctor appointment after doctor appointment, and it only adds up to more chaos as more doctors have to get involved.

BUT HEY!

I got through it in the end! And without withdrawing from any of my classes or getting a low grade! So the torture is thankfully over and I now know to literally never do that again for as long as I live— Now that it’s winter break though… 👀

So the good news of all of this is once winter break hit I uhhhhh got silly.

DUDES you won’t believe the sheer level of fucking insanity that took place once I was finally able to finish this semester, go on break, and actually write. I uh…

I finished Chapter 10 in two days🦐

Yeah I uh finished the fucking chapter in two days I am not shitting you. My ass went on break, sat down, and accidentally finished this long ass chapter that’s above 11K words within two days. It’s even funnier because I was tweaking so badly to work on MFIP the entire semester that once I finally sat down, I figured out exactly what I want to happen all throughout the rest of the arc. To properly explain, Imma just say how I usually work on my chapters.

I don’t actually have an organized outline for MFIP! I have a Google Docs full of ideas and certain beats I know I want the story to hit, and I generally know in my head what’s gonna happen. The details are what I figure out as I go, it’s like improv but for writing. Why don’t I just make a proper outline for the story? Because my brain genuinely can’t work that way for MFIP🦐✨ I’m not sure why; it’s not like I suck at outlines or anything, but MFIP just gets overcomplicated when I try to make an outline for it. There are so many different threads all tying back to each other that the only way I can properly comprehend it is by trusting what’s in my head.

I’m not going into detail to avoid spoiling, but I know exactly what most of the story is gonna be. I have an endpoint in mind, albeit one that’s very far into the future.

I knew what was gonna happen in the end of Arc One all the way from when I started the first chapter. That’s why the entire arc is building up or spiraling down to the events of Chapter 14. The difference is, now know 90% of the details for each of the remaining chapters too! It basically means I’ll have a very smooth writing process ‘cause all I have to do for these final chapters is to write them.

I’ve completely finished Chapter 10 and am currently around 5K+ words into Chapter 11.

Once my team finishes editing it, it’ll be published here and on AO3 as usual. I’m anticipating for it to come out sometime in late February!

THAT’S RIGHT! We’re getting canon Oneshots along with the chapters! I’ll be posting them in a specific order, but I’ll say between which chapters the Oneshot takes pace in the author’s note so y’all can keep track easier~

The Oneshots will vary in POV. Sometimes it’ll be Salena, sometimes someone else.

I’ll make it obvious which character it is if it’s a relevant character at all but I’ll also, once again, leave the info in the author’s notes! We’re not tryna recreate FNAF here-

They’re a cool way to show more content to the story that’s either too short to fit a chapter, or just not from Salena’s perspective. They don’t HAVE to be read in order to understand the story of MFIP, but they do add a lot more substance to the events that transpire. It’s like peeling back to see another layer and more context.

The first oneshot Dear Moon will release soon after this update!

It might even release the next day, honestly. I really can’t wait for you all to read them! I think they turned out really well ;w;

✨To Art, or Not To Art? That Is the Question✨

Yeah I’ve been a bit indecisive on the whole art in the Updates thing

I’m not gonna post any art for this Update bc it’s already getting like WAY too long, but I’m debating the whole thing altogether. I don’t really think it’s necessary, and I would much rather make art its own separate posts on Tumblr and yap about ‘em there. It’ll def take off the pressure of creating a new art piece to talk about considering this is a fanfic not a comic. Otherwise my ass was scavenging through procreate for art like a hyena scavenges for meat💀 I might try out showing off all the art I posted here and link to the posts where I yap about them.

It’ll be like a gallery for all the pieces made between the Updates~

I think it’ll be more fun to post stuff that way instead, and also reduce how much I procrastinate with these Updates—

I think that’s everything for this Update. You guys have no idea how happy I am to FINALLY be back😭

Classes start again for me in around a week, but I’ll probably still have time to create stuff so won’t need a full blown hiatus again. It’s gonna be a bit tricky since my classes are very math-heavy and intense this semester, but I tried being smarter about my schedule to not overwhelm myself.

So yeah, I’ll keep working on MFIP and posting whenever I can! I’m so excited to finish off Arc One of the story and finally get to the part I’ve been building up to for around two years now. Only five more chapters to go~!

Something something ✨we’re back✨

Sooooooo I know I forgot that I was actually supposed to post shit and not just work on it behind the scenes but ykw that’s okay🦐✨

So anywhizzle, epic cool art of Salena that I drew a while back as my apology and peace offering to yall. I know I’ve been like radio-silent for a bit but dw, MFIP is indeed being worked on. I’m taking a tiny break on the actual chapter to flesh out more of the story, dive into fun AUs, and also fuel my stardew valley addiction again and get my bestie addicted to it in the process. I just wanna make sure I don’t burn out so I’ve been fueling myself creatively :3

Funnily enough I’ve deadass been SO TEMPTED to return to writing chapter 10 but I know I’ll just get frustrated if I write without any inspiration so I’m holding back💀 I just really genuinely love this story but I gotta make sure I take small breaks from it sometimes too

But ye, expect me to come back with some more content. I’ll likely also share stuff about the AUs and even maybe show some Stardew Valley stuff. I’ll make a hashtag for anything non-MFIP related from now on tho so that way y’all can mute it if you’re not interested. MONTLY MFIP UPDATE

8/13 | Month 1 | Next Month

Hey hey hey folks! Been a while, I know but we’re here now! If you’re wondering “what the fuck is this” basically I decided to take notes from my bestie @yosajaeofficial and do monthly updates for MFIP the way they do em for their story JMC so it doesn’t look like I’m dead :D (BTW Please go check out the Jayce Myles Comics, it’s gonna be a rise comic and hasn’t debuted yet but Jae’s been working super hard on it and I guarantee if you guys like MFIP, then you’ll love the JMC too so give em a follow to stay updated~)

Anywhizzle, I know I don’t update often but truth be told, I don’t usually have much publishable material. Most of the MFIP related artwork I do are usually things I can’t reveal till future chapters. They’re lore-significant and would be kinda spoilerish if I posted them before the chapters are ready so womp womp on me. All the other art I do are either for different stories, sketches, or just not things I really wanna publish at least as their own posts. I do, however, wanna show I’m not speaking out my ass so I’mma show a few of em here actually :3

First one’s like one of my favorite things ever even if it’s pretty simple. I just wanted to explore Salena’s dynamics with some of the villains and sketch em out for funsies but only got as far as Meatsweats and Kendra. Still one of the funniest shit to me ESPECIALLY the random ass beef Salena and Meatsweats have. It came out of fucking nowhere but both have accepted it as just their dynamic now. Funfact, it wasn’t even planned; I accidentally made Meatsweats the villain for chapters 1 and 3 and decided “fuck it, the bond is funny” so now they’re mortal enemies for no reason other than pure coincidence💀✨

Wanted to show this one because it’s cute and I love it. It’s one of my more recent sketches (hence the brush being changed) I did on a day I wasn’t really feeling too well and kinda craved Raph’s big-brother comfort. I might go in and actually finish this one ngl cuz it’s just really sweet to me

I also wanted to show a sneak peek at one of the chapter artworks that I mentioned earlier I cannot post yet. I’m not revealing any of the context or what chapter it’s from, but trust me y’all are in for a ride🤭✨✨✨

Alrighty, so that’s all I have for the art section. It’s not all though since I do wanna talk about the actual chapter progress itself in this next section

So, all y’all know the last chapter posted was chapter 9 and the one I’m working on currently is chapter 10. It’s got 19 pages so far in the docs but still kinda near the beginning. Chapter 9 was HUGE for me to write and I kinda think it’s the longest chapter I’ve written in general even including chapters from other stories I’ve written in the past so it really put me through a trip. I’m really happy and proud with how it turned out but it did burn me out a little so I’ve spent most of my summer break resting and regaining my energy. I’ve dabbled into other projects, other stories, AUs, etc. A lot of it was self-indulgent stuff which may still be posted on a separate account but it does mean I wasn’t progressing much with MFIP itself. I never abandoned it though or even properly stepped away from it tbh, it stayed in my mind and I kept having ideas that I added to my notes or just random brainrot I liked expanding on. It also gave me a chance to approach chapter 10 with a new lens cuz it had to be mentally reworked a few times to properly convey what I wanted it to. It’s still not fully figured out but it’s planned out in my head enough for me to ball it when writing the actual chapter itself as usual

I’ve also been working on some oneshots too! They’re kinda optional treats for anyone who wants to read em. They do have significance in the story but it’s not gonna leave you completely lost about the lore or anything if you choose not to read them. I’ll be posting at least the first one soon, I’m not sure yet cuz the order is indeed important for the timeline sake. But anywho, expect to see some of that as fun bonus content!

Now that the chapter update’s done, I did wanna talk more to you guys about writing and the story itself. I know I’ve become incredibly slow at updating the story but I do wanna reassure you guys that I still love MFIP and have a lot of passion for it, as well as working on it as hard as I can. The reason these chapters take longer is ironically because of that. I used to be able to pump out a chapter within a few weeks but those were the REALLY early days. My chapters grew to be much longer than I ever thought they’d be and they’re filled to the brim with important details and crucial moments that I can’t take out or rush without it feeling sloppy and lacking. The quality’s also increased thanks to my wonderful team editing the chapters for any typos or continuity errors and working on MFIP with as much passion as I am but that means they need to be given enough time to do their jobs properly. My love for MFIP is greater than it’s ever been and that’s saying something cuz I was quite obsessed since day one. But since there’s so much to do and I wanna be able to make the quality worthwhile, it takes me much longer to complete chapters. On top of that, there’s obviously life stuff going on too. I still have to focus on college and study for it, especially since I’m majoring in physics, and I have to take care of my mom a lot since she’s a breast cancer survivor (officially been a decade now🦾) so we got A LOOOOOOT of doctor appointments every month. It’s just our normal. I do wish there was a way I could work faster or increase the amount of hours in a day but hey, at least we’re all waiting together. I can promise you this much: if I ever decide to drop the story—which I believe is VERY HIGHLY UNLIKELY—I’ll be sure to let y’all know. I won’t ghost or randomly delete it out of nowhere someday. As far as I’m aware, I have full intent to keep this story going and keep communication clear between us :3

But yea, all in all, I think that’s all from me for this month’s update!

I hope this was a satisfying update to read (and to know the story ain’t abandoned—) and I hope next month I’ll have some cool things to show too. Maybe I’ll consider showing a written WIP next month? I’m not too sure since I usually like keeping my chapters a surprise till they’re fully done but I’ll consider it depending on how far the chapter is. For now though, I must bid y’all farewell! I will indeed get back to working on MFIP soon tho, I just wanna also do something fun and fresh as a mini-project to keep myself from burning out. So yeah, I be writing a movie script and I'll likely make it public if it's good enough so🧍‍♀️

Hey hey hey fellas!

Sooo this is just a short post cuz I miss posting on here— I don’t got anything to show sadly. I’ve been taking a break from writing MFIP as I mentioned before but it’s still on my mind cuz i have issues and I haven’t made any artwork for MFIP that I can show now. Everything’s currently being made for chapters 10-14 so obvs can’t post any without spoilers. I’ve been writing some one-shots too as cool additional content for the story but those can’t come out yet either since I have everything specifically planned out. That all being said, I just missed y’all and don’t wanna ghost every time I take a break or don’t have anything to post so🦐

I’m also working on AUs as side-projects, nothing as seriously worked on and planned out as MFIP tho. The AUs are just things me and my bestie @yosajaeofficial like doing together on the side and keeps my creative brain sharp. Also makes sure I don’t get burnt out of MFIP cuz we can’t have that happening or I’ll transform into my final Leo kinnie form and leap out the window😀💥 We have a joint account, nothing posted there yet but when it starts running I’ll be sure to reblog it here. OH and I also think I might take a page out of Jae’s book and start doing monthly updates. These chapters are taking longer to work on even when they’re not long chapters and I want some way to still stay in touch with everyone here. As for Ao3, idk🦐🎀✨ I have no clue how to make sure my Ao3 folks know I’m not dead other than replying to comments so womp womp whoops—

But yea uh das all tbh. Hey yall :D I just felt like letting yall know I’m not dead, I’m still working on chapter 9 but like oh well. I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it by this month sadly but I’m getting closer every day. Currently I think it’s getting near 12K words? I know I passed 11K for sure
