I love Disney Toon Studios' Christmas movies.
I love that the villain in Belle's Magical Christmas is a self-absorbed composer who wants to use the Beast's hopelessness as a manipulative weapon. I love that he says "if you must love someone, love yourself!" And the antithesis to that is Belle, who keeps hanging on to hope and proving that it exists through self-sacrifice. Just like the original movie. And hope is literally the point of Christmas, so it's perfect.
And if Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas doesn't make me cry every year since I turned twenty
Max has to learn to have faith in A Very Goofy Christmas--when he can't see proof of Santa Clays' existence for himself, he has to just trust what he does have proof of, which is his dad's unconditional, steadfast love for Max.
The duck triplets have to learn to make the most of the day they have, which does NOT look like getting everything they want: it looks like making everyone else's day wonderful, which is "the feeling that can last all year."
The Gift of the Magi, but with Mickey and Minnie! Giving up what you have for someone else is love, which is the greatest gift you could give!
Ugh. I love all those earnestly-made, heart-filled, on-a-budget Christmas movies Disney used to do.

Donald and Daisy Duck with Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck - Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas
Although the holidays are over, I still can't help but draw one of my favorite scenes from Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas from "Stuck on Christmas" (that story was inspired from "Christmas Every Day" by William Dean Howells) where Donald, Daisy and Donald's nephews hug like a real family and it's really a nice family scene for me. So I drew this as a redraw scene, just with Donald Duck, his girlfriend, future wife Daisy and his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie celebrating their holidays. I added a heart next to the mistletoe, since it is also Valentine's Day, February 14th. And I'm posting this too, although I'm late on the occasion of Hug Day, which is celebrated on January 21, although Hug Day can be any day. Sorry I didn't get some things right, I messed up a bit when I bolded the lines with the marker.
This is a real Duck family and I hope you like this drawing. Feel free to like and reblog this! And happy holidays once again as well as happy Valentine's Day and happy 25th anniversary of Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas since it aired in 1999.
