Whilst on our recent travels in north Norfolk, we discovered the amazing @nomadandthebowerbird. If you are in Wells next-to-the Sea anytime soon I would highly recommend a visit! Going out changes after having a baby. Last year I missed the beer festivals for the obvious reason of being pregnant, but I went again this year as Lizzie is enjoying the bottle more than the breast at the moment. Today was the first time since I went back on #maternityleave as a part of #sharedpatentalleave that I disregarded Lizzie's nap schedule and her growing dislike of napping in the pram (Oh why??) and took her across London to join her dad at Ealing Beer Festival. After all we can't always be held prisoners of the baby's nap schedule (well, I'll pay for that tomorrow when she wakes up at 5am again 😒). Currently caught on the "I want to be on holiday" & "Oh, I really love being home" pendulum. While I love being away and leaving London behind, there's something about summers in London that I really enjoy. The beer and food festivals for one, pubs with gardens or just sitting in a park (don't get to do much of the latter, but we try until Lizzie has had enough of nature). I've gone awol again here on Insta, but like it or not, there's more important things taking up my time. Lizzie's met more of her Slovenian family and I'm really enjoying being back in the country that was my home for almost thirty years. It's changed a bit since I've left, but I love how this small county found its thing in being green and eco-friendly. I took a photo of a dumpster truck today because I loved the underground recycling idea! My English family loves it too, which makes me really happy and proud. And the air! Coming from London I keep noticing how clean the air here is. I can actually smell trees and flowers even in the centre of the capital. I love London and our home there, but I do miss the outdoor living. And me saying that is definitely something 😊 There's also an abundance of outdoor sitting in all the cafes and restaurants, so we're just enjoying pottering around. Look at me joining in again with #midweekshareandrewear. Today the sun decided to play hide and seek. So this outfit for me is perfect. Scarf - because I love a scarf. I feel like I’m put together and it hides a multitude of things. Like baby snot down your top or little lumps and bumps. Black jeans - need I say more. Denim jacket. - a bladdy classic for spring. I remember always wanting one when I was younger but could never find a decent one that wasn’t overpriced. I love this @fatface one its comfy yet shaped and has proper pockets for you know stuff. ( *pulls out beach glass and sand from last weeks travels.) Sunglasses. - I’m never without a pair of glasses nowadays. They are usually found on top of my head. Unless it’s really sunny and they I may even be sporting two pairs. White top - secondhand Purchase Anyway my top is one of my favourites even though it really shows my cake and chips fuelled body off a bit too much (aka - adds 100lbs) but i feel like it’s a bit boho. ~ You see somewhere inside of me (despite that shouty stressy mum exterior) is a calm wafty dress or shorts and top flip flop wearing boho mum. Not a fan of the current storm, but it did give me an excuse to wear the hat I bought on a whim and forgot about 😊 I'm thrilled it's Friday as it means just one more day and daddy will be home with us. I love having Ben at home, he's such a wonderful dad and it's easy to see how much Lizzie enjoys spending time with him. While it breaks my heart that we decided to do shared parental leave and I'll have to go back to work in a month, I know that both Lizzie and Ben will massively benefit from having lots of quality time together. We had a busy weekend, so I'm now enjoying being slumped on the sofa watching telly and enjoying the culinary delicacy that is a crisps sandwich. This sandwich somehow manages to taste delicious, but then again it combines two of my favorite food items aka carbs and carbs 🤣 It's been an exhausting week all in all with the breast gate still in full swing, although I'm slowly figuring out how to make it better when the pain kicks in, and trying to get the home looking more pre-baby tidy (although I've no idea why we even try as it only lasts about a nano second before there's an explosion of books, toys, sick covered muzzies and bibs). Trooper is now five months old and giving her all to crawling (well, she's getting frustrated by not begging yet able to) and I have yet again failed to take a milestone photo.
