teasing mike with an ice cube. 18+ mdi
not proofread don’t yell at me
——————————
mike has been tied to the bed post for almost ten minutes now, and blindfolded for nearly just as long.
he’s fully worked himself up by this point. chest heaving, cheeks ruddy, lips slick and red, boxers tented deliciously. he looks perfect.
not to mention the thin lines of wetness trailing all over his chest and stomach, leaving little red paths from the intense cold in their wake.
you can’t remember who started this, all you remember is trying to fix mike and you a couple of drinks shortly after he got back from dropping abby at vanessa’s place. innocently filling each glass with ice cubes when mike slid up behind you, kissing your neck and whispering filth in your ear.
you rolled your eyes, feigning annoyance to rile mike up. it worked of course, he’s a simple man, but just not in the way you wanted it too. mike grabbed an ice cube and dropped it down the back of your shirt, and a small wrestling match ensued leaving both of you on the floor making out.
one thing led to another and mike hauled you up in a rush to get to the bedroom, you didn’t even notice he grabbed the glass full of ice cubes off the counter.
now you’re here, minus some clothes, sitting on mikes thighs trailing ice cube after ice cube over his sensitive skin on display.
“ah! mhm shit…” mike whimpers out when you run the cold ice over his left nipple, hands clenching and unclenching where they’re bound to the bedpost.
you hum back nonchalantly, mouth too occupied to respond fully. your lips wrapped around a piece of ice that’s quickly melting, you circle his nipple a few times drawing out little keens from him as you do.
the ice fully melts, leaving your lips cold as you trail kisses all along his pecs. you travel all the way up his neck, sucking at the sensitive spot behind his ear. mikes breathy moans make your heart race and fireworks go off deep in your stomach.
you take advantage of mike being blindfolded to surprise him, stopping your assault on his neck to kiss him properly. he responds almost immediately, craning his head up to desperately kiss you back and moaning into your mouth enthusiastically.
you smile into the kiss before you can stop yourself, mikes responsiveness to your touch never fails to make you giddy.
you pull back, breaking the kiss much to mikes dismay. he lets out an all suffering groan, trying his best to rear up in chase of your lips.
you sit back, just watching him for a second. the biggest drawback of the blindfold is that you can’t see mikes eyes. they’ve always been your favorite feature of his, they’re so expressive. you can read whatever he’s thinking by just looking in his eyes.
you reel back before you feel yourself starting to get too sentimental, that’s not what mike needs right now. that’s not what either of you need right now.
“how’s it feel?” you ask softly, running your hands up and down his chest.
mike shivers under your light touch. “feels weird,” he breathes out quietly, “feels so fucking good though.”
“yeah?” you ask hotly, reaching out to pluck another piece of ice wasting no time before popping it in your mouth and shuffling down mikes body.
“ah!” mike exclaims as you start up on his chest again, circling his right nipple a few times before making your way over to his left to repeat the process.
only this time you dare to go lower, dragging the ice down the center of his chest to his stomach to trace shapes with the ice. a circle, a square, a heart, you even spell your name out. mike yelps, his abs tensing.
“shit! baby oh god,” he babbles incoherently, head trashing back and forth on the pillow.
you trail the ice all the way to the hem of his boxers, kissing along where the seam meets his skin while raking your hands up his legs.
mike keens, his legs fight to stay still. “fuck yes, don’t stop. please don’t stop.”
hearing his desperate pleas and whines spur you on enough to stop teasing him. you roughly yank his boxers down, his hard dick bobbing out to slap against his stomach. you moan at the sight of him, flushed red and wet at the tip.
sparks go off at the base of your spine. you need him in your mouth now. you crunch down on your ice enthusiastically, swallowing the bits and pieces left.
you know your tongue, lips, and mouth are still cold from how many ice cubes you’ve gone through. apparently, mike didn’t think of that, so the cold kiss you plant on the tip of his dick takes him by surprise.
“fuck! oh fuck fuck fuck-“ he breathes out roughly as you run your cold tongue all over the length of him, kissing and suckling as you go.
you kiss your way up to the tip of his dick, gripping the base in your hand and wrapping your lips around the head.
“s’good baby, feels so good.” mike slurs quietly. you squeeze his thigh with your other hand, starting to bob your head in a steady rhythm.
you pull off, letting the spit that gathered in your mouth drip down the length of mikes dick before you continue bobbing your head. the lewd sound of slurping that fills the room makes your ears burn in the best way possible. the familiar weight and taste of him on your tongue leaves your pussy aching.
mike’s a incoherent mess at this point, reduced down to making needy sounds and tugging at his restraints in vain.
you plunge lower, down to the base of his cock and swallow around him. mike yelps.
“shit baby i’m gonna-fuck-i’m gonna fucking come.” he’s unable to stop the praises that flow out of his mouth. his legs are kicking out erratically, but you’ll give him a pass just this once.
you pull all the way off mike’s dick, using your hand to stroke him quickly. “do it mike. come for me,“ you purr hoarsely. “be good and come for me.” your lips brushing against the tip of mikes weeping dick has his orgasm hitting him like a train and spurting his come into your parted lips.
“fuck!” he shouts, voice raspy and loud. you bob your head down again to swallow his release, tearing an overwhelmed keen from mike’s chest. he’s rocking his hips mindlessly up into your mouth to ride out his orgasm.
you can tell that he’s extremely sensitive, but that doesn’t stop you. “oh shit–” mike gasps as you continue to suckle at his sensitive spent dick, coaxing out tiny drops of come.
“s’to much, i can’t!” he cries, hips pressing into the mattress trying to squirm away from the pleasure turned overstimulation. you take pity on him, and pull off after one long suck, pressing one last kiss to the head.
you slide up the length of mike’s body, pulling a blanket up with you to cover you both. his chest is heaving and he’s covered in sweat. “i’m gonna take the blindfold off.” you say softly, reaching up to gently remove the blindfold. he only grunts in response.
mike has his eyes closed when you take it off him, still coming down from his orgasm. then you undo the tie you used as a makeshift rope to free his wrists from the bedpost. tossing both items aside you finally lay down and cuddle up next to mike.
he turns his head to you, eyes open and looking into yours. “hi.” you say with a soft smile.
mike laughs weakly, strong arms circling your waist to pull you closer. “that was… holy shit.” mike says reverently. you laugh, tangling your legs with his under the blanket. “you’re welcome.”
mike doesn’t respond, instead leaning in to kiss you. the two of you slowly make out, hands roaming each others body’s contently. you pull back just enough to rest your forehead against his.
“you want that drink now?”

lover, you should've come over - m. schmidt
Tumblr media
a/n: you guys should have seen this one coming! as always i appreciate any likes and reblogs and hope you enjoy :) warnings: suggestive themes, big angst, lots of talk about tattoos and pain and needles, mike having horrible anxiety and commitment issues, reader is mostly gender neutral except for one thing ! tattoo aftercare, hurt/comfort, kissing word count: 3.6k summary: you get a tattoo, and it terrifies mike. mostly because he realizes how much you love him. pairing: mike schmidt x gn!reader now playing: lover, you should've come over - jeff buckley "my body turns and yearns/for a sleep that won't ever come/it's never over/my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder."
Penny has done almost all of your tattoos, save for the stick and poke star you gave yourself while you were way too high to be handling that sort of equipment, and a few flash designs you’ve gotten for holidays. And usually, you keep it simple and easy, pitching a design idea and getting a finished stencil a few hours later.
But this time, you go into the shop a few months before you plan to get the tattoo and describe to her what you want. She’s shocked that you want a half sleeve—It’s a big step, she tells you, and it’ll mean sitting for a few hours while she does her work. It’ll be painful, and the design will take a few weeks to get made, because she wants to give you the best possible design.
She does good work. When you visit again in about three weeks, you put down a deposit and make an official date to get it done. October 9th.
You go home that night to your small, but warm home to find your boyfriend trying to make chicken parm. His goal all year has been to learn how to cook, not just to make things out of a box. You know a bit better how to cook, but you let him improve his skills, always providing helpful, gentle critiques.
Abby is worse at being gentle.
She’s brutal with her brother’s cooking, and even though Mike loves your gentle words, he appreciates Abby’s feedback, and just wants her to eat a full plate of food before bed each night.
Tonight, his food smells good. You mentioned about a month ago how you missed your mom’s chicken parm, and since then, he’s been reading and researching different recipes at work. Ever since he quit working at Freddy’s, he’s put down the book of dreams and has picked up cookbooks, working his way up slowly.
You tell him he’ll be making Thanksgiving Dinner in no time. You kiss his jaw when you say that, and later, he returns the favor by placing a kiss to your shoulder.
You go to him, standing in the kitchen, as he squints at the recipe book in front of him. He wears washed blue jeans, an old Foo Fighters tee shirt and a pair of blue fuzzy socks. A towel hangs over his shoulder as he mutters to himself, as he gets ready to put some garlic bread in the oven.
You’re still in your work clothes, though, it’s not as if you’re wearing anything fancy. Just a different pair of jeans, and a tee shirt with your shop’s logo on it. Your hair is messy, and you smell vaguely of dirt. The smell has become comforting to him in his time knowing you.
You step closer to him, a hand resting gently on his shoulder. He relaxes at your touch.
“Hey, Mike.” You say softly, leaning your head on his shoulder.
“Hey, how was your day?”
“Not too bad. The food smells pretty good.”
“You think so?” His voice is hopeful, especially since he’s trying to live up to your memories of the dish as a kid. It’s his way of thanking you for being so good to him while he’s gotten his shit together.
“Mhm. I’m gonna go wash up and have Abby help me set the table.” You tell him. You kiss his jaw quickly before heading off to the bathroom to scrub the dirt from beneath your fingernails. You wash your face and arms too and begin to realize how domestic this all is.
You never saw yourself having kids, and never thought of yourself dating someone who did.
And you still never think about having kids, but you did find yourself treating Abby as if she is your own. This has nothing to do with how much you adore her brother. Abby is just easy to love. You wonder if anyone’s ever told her that.
When your work boots find themselves at the end of your bed, you change into a muscle tee. You’re awfully fond of them. You find a pair of Mike’s fuzzy socks and slip them on too. You take a moment to stare at your shoulder in the mirror, imagining how it’ll look when ink covers it. Most of your tattoos are on your legs, and for a long time, this arm has been bare of any ink. You’ve been saving it for this project for years.
You go to Abby’s room and knock gently before entering. You find her painting at this aisle you got for her birthday. She’s been working on this painting for a few days now, and it’s turning out quite nice.
“Hey, Abs.” You say softly, and she puts her paintbrush down to give you this big, toothy grin. “Go wash up and help me set the table?” You ask.
“Sure.” She hums and starts to skip along to the bathroom, but you stop her at the door.
“And remember, even if Mike’s food is bad, what do we say?”
“Mm, this food is so good and not horrible at all!”
“Abby.”
She sighs.
“This is unlike anything you’ve made before, and I appreciate the effort?”
“That’s it.” You let her go wash up, and then go to set the table.
When Mike eventually serves dinner, you’re starved. You don’t care if it’s bad, or if it’s burnt, you know you’ll like it because you weren’t able to take a lunch break that day. But it genuinely looks good.
He cuts up Abby’s food and puts the plate in front of her before sitting down and looking to you two for a reaction. You take a bite, and you have to pause.
Did Mike really cook something not just edible, but… good?
Not fine, not decent, really good.
“Mike, this is—”
“Amazing!” Abby gasps, going in for another bite. His cheeks flush.
“You guys don’t have to pretend, it’s alright—”
“No, Mike, we’re not pretending, it’s really good!” You defend, going in for a second bite yourself. “Try it!”
He does, and he even looks shocked at the quality of the food he’s produced. And it sets the mood for the whole dinner, until you eventually blurt out,
“I booked a tattoo appointment for next week.”
“What are you getting?” Mike can’t ever admit this to you, but he adores your tattoos. He thinks the placement of them are all wonderful, even if they’re smaller. He likes to kiss them, to trace his fingers over them, to just admire them in the summer.
“It’s a surprise.” You tell him. Owning your own shop and being your own boss has its perks. You have no worries about people judging you for your half sleeve, deciding that you can just ban them from your shop.
Your conversation drifts off and you focus on other things. When you’re done, you and Mike begin to clean up with him, letting some of the pan soak in the sink. You sit on the counter, drying some of the plates as Mike rinses.
“Thank you for dinner.” You tell him.
“I’m glad you liked it.” Comfortable silence fills the room. “You’re really not gonna tell me what you’re getting?”
“I told you, it’s a surprise.” You smile softly. He dries his hand and steps between your legs. His hands land on either side of you, caging you in.
“Tease.” He mumbled, leaning forward, and kissing your shoulder. A hand goes to his hair, your fingers tangling in his locks.
“I’m not teasing, I’m just being a little secretive.” You tell him, playing with his hair. You’re a fan of the scruff he’s been growing out lately.
“Isn’t it gonna hurt?”
“Yeah, but I’ll take breaks and remember to eat.” You tell him. “This isn’t my first tattoo, Mike.”
“I know, baby.” He says softly, “I just get worried—”
“You get worried about me? And yet, when I’m worried about you, you ignore me but—” He cuts you off with a kiss, and your hands land on his jaw, the scruff tickling your face.

The ink swirls around your shoulder, a moth wrapping around your shoulder and reaching to the top of your arm. Vines wrap around the moth, as flowers bloom in different places. Your birth flower is one of them, as well as your mother’s. You also place Abby and Mike’s around the moth, maybe protecting it. Thorns poke out of some of the vines, and the ink covers your shoulder, and down to just above your elbow.
You got it done on a Saturday afternoon, leaving late enough so Mike could sleep in without having to deal with Abby, but being able to give them some time to relax together.
It takes a few hours, and by the end of it, you’re exhausted. As with all your other tattoos, you’re sore, but this is a new type of sore. You ache for Mike’s hands on you, to hold you and kiss your shoulders, even though he can’t kiss your left shoulder for a few days.
The second skin will remain on your arm for a day or two, and then you’ll have to go through the process of moisturizing your tattoo.
You have Penny take lots of photos of it before you head home, Mike and Abby both waiting in anticipation for you to come home and show them your new ink. You’re excited to show them, since there’s a connection to them in the art.
When you open the door, Abby runs to you and immediately starts to look for the ink in question. She gasps when she sees it, all wrapped up on your arm.
“It’s a moth,” You tell her, “With my favorite plants.” You crouch down to point out different plans in the works. “These are my mom’s birth flowers, they’re carnations.” You tell her, “Do you know what these are?” You point to another flower.
Abby shakes her head, resisting the urge to reach out and touch the fresh, raw flesh of the person she considers to be her caregiver.
“They’re lily of the valley flowers. They’re your birth flower.” You reach out and tuck hair behind her ear. Then, you point to the third flower. “And these? They’re honey suckles. They’re Mike’s birth flower.”
Mike watches your interaction, listening to your explanation of the tattoo. Suddenly, this anxiety pools in his chest. You’ve been living together for a few months, but somehow a symbol of him and Abby being engraved on your skin makes things all too real.
He could cry.
“Did you get the flowers because you’re a flower person?” You grin, knowing she doesn’t remember the title of your job.
“Botanist, you mean? Sort of, but you two mean a lot to me, and I wanted to tribute something to you guys.” You confess.
She grins and turns to look at Mike.
“I wanna be a tattoo artist when I’m older.” Mike is pale with anxiety.
He wants to tell you it looks good, that it’s brilliantly done, but he doesn’t find it in himself. He wants to run, to abandon this relationship at the door, to never speak to you again to avoid the fact that he wants you desperately and thinks he might marry you one day.
He walks off to the bathroom, and he’s unsure if it’s to throw up or to cry.
You’re disappointed, because you wanted him to like it desperately, since this tattoo is now on you forever, and you wanted it to be a tribute to him. It almost hurts you that he doesn’t love it. Or at least pretend to. Instead, his disdain is visible on his face, and you do your best to turn your attention back to Abby.
“Wanna help me make dinner?” You smile softly, and she nods.
“Did your tattoo hurt?” She acts gently.
“Yeah, but with a good artist it goes quickly, and they don’t aim to torture you.” You explain, as you begin to make mac and cheese.
As she sets the table, you turn back to her and ask, “Can you go get Mike for dinner?” She nods and skips along to your bedroom, where Mike sits on the bed, frustrated with himself.
“Mike?” She asks gently. “We’re making mac and cheese.”
“I’m not hungry.” He says softly, and Abby can just tell something isn’t right.
“Are you okay?”
“I don’t feel well..”
“Oh…” she suspects this is a lie.
“I’m sorry. Tell them I said sorry.” Tears prick Mike’s eyes. He’s unsure why he’s like this, and why he can’t just admire your tattoo and love you and tell you how much you mean to him. But he can’t. He gets the words out. He wants to love you so badly but something in him demands to not let him be happy.
He lays on the bed and tries to stay quiet as he cries.
• • •
Hours later, you sit at the table anxiously, your hands tapping on the wood, a cold bowl of Mac and Cheese on the table. You decide to get up to clean up dinner, and just as you do, soft steps creep out of the bedroom and into the kitchen area.
Mike stands and stares at the cold dinner that he feels bad for rejecting. He should just tell you what’s bothering him. Instead, his gaze turns and looks at you, doing the dishes.
“You didn’t have to make dinner.”
“You didn’t seem well, and Abby needed to eat.”
This comment sparks a much larger fire in Mike, and he isn’t sure why he’s angered by how much you care about his sister, his world.
“You aren’t her mom, you don’t have any reason to make her dinner or put her to bed—”
“Yeah, Mike, well, You’re not really her dad.” You glare. “I’ve taken care of her for months, fed her, made sure she’s taken care of, I’ve picked her up from school, and now suddenly, you’ve decided I have no right to just care about her? Fuck you, if you don’t love me anymore, then don’t take it out on your sister, talk to me like a god damn grown up and stop acting like a child.” You spit, angrily turning back around to keep doing your dishes so that Mike doesn’t see your red face or your tears.
With your back turned, he can see the moth on your shoulder blade, and he aches to trace the lines of your tattoos, kissing the skin around it. But cotton fills his mouth every time he tries to sew the gap between you two.
And your words strike him. He knows why you might think he doesn’t love you anymore, but he does. He loves you deeply and finds himself enamored with you, and yet he can’t even compliment this tattoo that you have obviously put a ton of time, effort and money into.
“I’m sorry—” You start, but he cuts you off.
“I think we should give each other some space.” The words hit you like a ton of brick, and you’re ready to get on your hands and knees and beg him, beg him to not leave, beg him to forgive you (for what, you don’t know), beg him to touch you, beg him to want you.
“What..?”
“I just think I need some space.” He said softly, leaning against the kitchen doorway. You want to ask if he’s hungry, to kiss away all the sadness in the worry lines of his face.
You nod, bite your tongue. He wants to hold you and tell you he doesn’t mean it.
“I’ll sleep on the couch.” You mumble, sighing softly. You also plan to leave early before Mike gets up.
Mike steps towards you, maybe to apologize. You step past him to go get pajamas from your dresser, not letting him grasp onto you. You don’t want him to apologize now. You want him to sit in his regret and you want to sit in your anger.
As you attempt to fall asleep that night, you pray Abby didn’t hear your conversation with him.
Both of you try to drift to sleep and salt streams from your eyes and into your ears.
• • •
A few days pass. Your tattoo starts to heal, and you take the second skin off your shoulder and arm and begin the process of aftercare.
You and Mike exchanged a total of about thirty words over the next few days. Abby noticed your angst towards each other and tried to get the two of you to make up. She figured that Mike was being an idiot, and just needed to apologize.
She was right, but he didn’t want to admit that to his kid sister.
It’s hell. You have to pretend that you don’t want to beg for his forgiveness, but you know that neither of you are blameless. Your pride tells you not to be the first one to cave. His anxiety tells him that you hate him.
When he gets home one afternoon from work, you’re napping in bed. He knows the couch isn’t that comfortable and he’s sure you’re home because you’d mentioned to Abby that you weren’t feeling well. You probably didn’t expect to still be asleep when he got home.
But you’re wearing one of his shirts. He kisses your head and leaves a glass of water and cold medicine on the nightstand, before going to make himself busy somewhere else, as if not to disrupt your rest.
He takes one last glance at you before he leaves.
One night, he comes home from work late. You take it as an opportunity to take a hot shower after putting Abby to bed and taking a few minutes to sit in the bedroom that you missed while sleeping on the couch.
Besides, your bones ached from that uncomfortable couch while you were spoiled, used to Mike’s warm bed.
You barely hear the front door open as you continue your nightly routine. You need to apply lotion to your tattoo, to keep it moisturized as it heals. But you find yourself struggling to reach your shoulder.
Mike watches you from the doorway of the bedroom, biting his lip. The bags around his eyes have grown darker since your fight.
He takes off his boots first, and then strips his top down to an undershirt, then takes off his jeans. If you weren’t so busy, you’d acknowledge how handsome he looked in just his boxers and a gray tee shirt.
The bed dips behind you, as he sits behind you. You stop what you’re doing.
“Give me the lotion.” He says softly, and with a sigh of defeat, maybe even a bit of relief, you hand him the lotion. He squirts some lotion on his hands, then begins to rub it into your skin. You shudder at the contact, and he feels tears in his eyes again. He missed you. “I’m sorry I didn’t say I liked your tattoo. I love it.”
“I’m sorry I said you didn’t love me, and I’m sorry I said you weren’t Abby’s dad.”
“But I’m not—”
“But you are her parent.”
“So are you.”
A silence fills the room.
“What happened on Saturday?”
“I got anxious when I saw Abby and I’s birth flowers on you. Like how much I loved you was just engraved in your skin, and I didn’t know what to do with it. I didn’t mean to push you away, I was just terrified. Terrified that you’re going to leave. Terrified that I won’t be able to protect you.” His voice cracks at the end, and he leans his head against your shoulder that isn’t inked.
Your head turns to kiss his head.
“I’m not going anywhere.”
“I know..” he says softly, but a part of him doesn’t believe it. You and Abby, you’re the only ones who have stayed, the only ones he’s been able to save. He doesn’t know who he is without the two of you. “I’m sorry, I was such a dick.”
“Yeah, but so was I.” You tell him.
“I love your tattoo. I love all of your tattoos. All of them. I love kissing them. I’m desperate for this one to heal so I can kiss this shoulder again.”
“Thank you for helping me with it. It itches like a son of a bitch.” You tell him, a weak smile on your face. Tears stain your shirt.
“Can we go back to normal now? I’ve missed you.”
“I miss you so much.” You turn and wrap your arms around him, the warmth radiating from his body as he holds you close. You wonder if either of you will ever be able to let yourselves be loved.
You hope to let each other try.
You kiss him, salty tears mixing, as you hold him close. He’s careful of your tattoo, not wanting to scratch or hurt you. He’s gentle in a way that betrays him. He desires you in this way that transcends want or need, something that is vital, as if it were breathing.
Yet his hands remain respectful. Gentle. You’re the one that adjusts your position to be over him, as you gently push him back against the bed, kissing him deeper.
He decides he will marry you someday. That maybe the idea of being with you for the rest of his life isn’t scary.
Not when you kiss him like that.

A soft knock is enough for Mike to stir in his sleep but not enough to wake him. Abby is drawing happily in her room, content for now after you bribed her with chicken nuggets and a lengthy story time to come after. She’s been missing Mike. And she’s been wanting to go to work with him. You’re not sure how much longer you can tempt her to stay at home instead of going to the pizzeria.
You close the door, a soft click following suit. He’s still sound asleep, completely unaware of your nearing presence. He asked you to wake him up. But it’s hard when he looks so peaceful. The sounds of birds and crickets reach your ear. You sigh. How long was he going to chase the past?
“Mike,” you say gently. “Time to go.”
His brows furrow, a murmur falling from his lips. With a smile you shake your head, the bed creaks as you take a seat. “Come on dummy,” you pinch his cheek and his eyelids flutter. “You’re going to be late.”
“So close,” he mutters, his head moving to rest on your lap. Your heart jumps. All you want to do is thread your fingers through his hair and keep him exactly where he is but you know it’s not likely. As soon as he’s fully awake he’ll pull up his walls. “Can you help me take off my poster from the ceiling?”
As he talks his lips move above your thigh, the soft fabric of your sweats leaving little to the imagination. “Why?”
“Gonna take it to work,” his voice is hoarse with sleep.
A sudden annoyance prickles over your skin, heat building in your stomach— Again with the dreams. Again with wanting to change the past. You’ve been working for him for months now (though can you really say you’ve been working for him when he hasn’t been paying you?) and he’s always been the same. You understand. You really do. But Garett isn’t here anymore, Abby is—you are.
“No, Mike,” you say, your eyes following his sharp jawline dusted with a bit of stubble. He stirs a bit, legs moving underneath the covers one leg pops out. You swallow. It’s unbelievable the things he doesn’t notice about the people around him. His eyes finally open and you lean back, you’re not a fan of the angle. “Look, the poster is on the damn ceiling. What do you want me to do? Carry you on my shoulders?”
“I was thinking the opposite.”
“Whatever you have in mind my answer is still no,” you eye the book on the bedside table. “You shouldn’t be sleeping on the job, you know that.”
“It’s called decorating,” he answers with a hint of annoyance laced into his voice. Well, he’s not the only one. He peels himself away from your lap and leans against the wall, you miss the heat of him already. “Besides what do you care about what I do during the job?”
“That place gives me the creeps. I’d prefer it if you’re fully awake.”
Mike sighs and stretches, the soft fabric of his shirt sliding up, a sliver of skin shows. Your knees brush against one another. It almost feels like you’re kids just hanging out with the parents still sleeping. It’s reminiscent, in a way. He runs a band over his face.
“You don’t need to worry about me.”
“Too late for that.”
“I’ll pay you with my next paycheck promise.”
You turn to him, eyes narrowing, “Don’t change the subject. You know I don’t care about any of that at this point. It’s been months, Mike. I would be gone if that was what I only cared about.”
He seems distraught by your answer, even more so than normal. “I... I know that. But you're always here, looking after Abby, taking care of the house. . . I want you to have a life and not be stuck here for Abby’s sake.”
Ouch. Have a life? You don’t think Mike realizes that he basically shoved a knife in your chest.
You slide off of the bed, your heart beats quick, a bit too quick for comfort. “Sorry that me helping out is a sign that I have nothing better to do,” you snap. You hear the start of an apology escaping his lips, both feet touching the ground as he contemplates if he should get up or not. “And if you’re so guilty about me being here maybe you should be here yourself.”
The regret settles even before you leave the room. You know he’s going to be thinking about what you said and twist it into the worst possible meaning his brain can fathom—which can be quite dark knowing Mike.
You’re halfway down the hall, heading to the kitchen when Mike catches up to you. He takes hold of your wrist, slightly tugging you back until he’s got your full attention. You give it to him. Eyes fluttering as you find it hard to look into his eyes. He’s too expressive. You hate being able to see every emotion flickering in them, and likeways you’re scared he can read you just as clearly.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
Oh, you’ve never heard him this mad before. Your eyes drop to where he’s holding you, his fingers an iron vice around your wrist. Your pulse races, the tips of your ears warm. His gaze follows where you’re staring, you expect him to let go but he doesn’t, instead, he squeezes harder, his thumb following the vein on the inside of your wrist. “Is this why you’re here? To play hero to my life?”
Your eyes narrow, “Fuck off, Mike,” you yank your wrist away, a bit of skin catching on his nail. It stings. “Just go to work. I’ll see you in the morning.”
Tumblr media
You had just dropped off Abby to school and promptly doing the dishes before you head out. You didn’t need to wash the dishes perse, but you were hoping Mike would show up before you left. Alas, it was almost noon, and still no signs of him. Not even a phone call. Which he would usually do if he was coming back later than normal.
You two did end the conversation quite nastily, so you guess you shouldn’t be too surprised that he hasn’t shown up, hoping that you’d leave before he came back.
A bit too aggressively, you knead the sponge until suds appear. He’s a moron. A complete idiot to think that you were only around just out of pity. His words stung and biting back probably wasn’t the best solution. Shaking your head, you grab a plate and rub it hard enough to potentially peel off the enamel coating.
“Stupid,” you murmur, finding a bit of relief in letting the words slip. “Stupid, idiot, moron—”
“You shouldn’t do the dishes if it makes you that angry.”
Your turn with a jerk, “Mike!” A plate slips, crashing into the sink, without even thinking another cuss drops from your mouth and you dunk your hand into the water to grab it. Just as your fingers graze the sharp pointed ceramic, Mike yanks your hand out of the water.
“Are you crazy?” he says surprisingly calm, as if he’s to tired to raise his voice or show panic within the words. “Just leave it, I’ll clean it later.”
Your chest heaves, he holds your wrist vastly differently compared to last night. Eyes wide, you feel the rise and fall of your chest, his gaze momentarily follows the movement before sliding his hand to your elbow. A shudder runs up your spine, your breath coming in short pants, your fingers curl into your palm.
“Sorry,” he murmurs letting go. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“You’re still holding me, Mike.” He looks tired. The skin under his eyes darker than usual, he even looks a bit beat up. Closing his lips, he swallows thickly and lets go. Your hands are still dripping water, you wipe them dry against your shirt. “Rough night?”
He shakes his head, “No. Just the normal. Dreams were a bit rougher than usual.”
“You took your poster then?”
His lips press into a thin line and he takes a seat. Fighting the urge to close your eyes, you bring out a bowl, milk, and stale store-brand froot loops. His lips tentatively twitch into a small smile.
“It’s Abby you’re taking care of,” he says. “I can look after myself.”
“Can you?”
He ignores the subtle bite in your remark and pours himself a bowl of cereal. He doesn’t eat immediately, letting the colorful hoops sit there for a while, he clears his throat. “I got my paycheck.”
“Congrats.”
“I can pay you.”
“I guess you can.”
His eyes flash, brows furrowing, “Why are you being so difficult?”
“I’m—” Once again his words hit a nerve. Difficult. Something you often heard right before people left you. Difficult difficult difficult. “I’m not.”
Mike shifts and stands straighter, your eyes drift to the cereal—must be soggy as hell now. “I know,” he says barely above a whisper. “Yeah, I know you’re not. Sorry.”
“It’s fine,” You lie. “And about the other thing, you can pay me later. Get Abby a new set of crayons, she’s going so fast through those things that I’m scared she’s just swallowing them,” you smile weakly as you get up. “I’ll be back before your shift, okay? And I think I should take some time off for a little while.”
“What?” Mike stands up with you, his shoulders rise, the muscles in his jaw flexing. “Why? Is. . . Is it because of last night? I’m—”
“You’re sorry I know,” you sigh. “It has nothing to do with you. I just. . . I just need to think for a while. I. . just a day, okay, just give me a day.”
His demeanor changes, his shoulders drop, his eyes grow soft. He nods and you take that as your cue to leave. You grab your back off the couch and he follows you to the hallway. With your hand around the doorknob, you hear him one more time.
“I care about you, you know,” he calls out and you swear you hear the bob of his Adam’s apple. “I don’t show it but I do.”
You don’t know how to answer him without bursting like a bubble, exposing every setting emotion that rolls in your gut. Your fingers tighten around the metal and you nod without looking.
Tumblr media
“Red crayon, please.”
You roll your eyes playfully, a small smile playing on your lips, “Abby, it’s literally right in front of you.” She just shrugs and extends her tiny palm towards you. “Fine you little artist, here you go.”
You place the crayon in her open palm, she slowly closes her fingers around it and starts coloring vigorously. With a smile, your eyes move back to the TV, you’re not sure what’s happening on the screen. The picture on the screen blurs a little, static growing and growing until a soft creak of the floor catches your attention. You turn to see Mike leaning against the doorframe. You wonder how long he’s been there, watching you and his sister occupy the normalcy of the living room.
“Hey,” he says.
“Hey.”
Abby doesn’t bother to look up, too entranced in her drawing. Mike sighs as his gaze lingers on his sister. “Abby can you give us a minute?”
She blinks before she looks up, suddenly startled, her curious eyes flits between the two of you. “Are you two gonna fight?”
“No, Abby,” Mike answers, exasperated.”We’re not going to fight. Just. . . talk.”
Surprisingly Abby leaves without much protest. She gathers her things and heads to her room, while walking past Mike, he softly ruffles her air. She sticks her tongue out and glares at him before disappearing completely. His face falls a bit upon meeting your gaze. You pat the empty seat next to you but he ends up sitting on the coffee table instead, your knees brushing together, he levels you with a soft look.
“She’s going to ask questions you know.”
“I don’t care,” he says hastily. “I do think we need to talk.”
“Fine then. . . talk.”
He seems unsure of himself now, “I know you’re mad about me because of what I said but I didn’t mean it—”
“It’s not that,” you cut in. “Sure I was hurt, but that’s not what frustrates me about you, Mike. You have to let go. . . of him. He’s gone, Abby’s here.”
He suddenly stands up, taking you by surprise, heads towards the kitchen. Your pulse rises as your eyes remain glued to the TV. In the distance, you hear him, “You don’t get to say that to me,” he hisses through gritted teeth. “You don’t know what it’s like.”
You hear the fridge door opening and closing. You know he’s doing it simply to get away from you, from what you’re saying. You follow him, anger warming your cheeks, you find him leaning back against the kitchen counter, knuckles turned white while holding the edge.
“So just because I didn’t lose a sibling I don’t get to talk about it?” you scoff. “That’s bullshit.”
“You don’t know what’s it like to lose someone and for it to be out of your control.” He’s shaking slightly, shoulders rounding as he speaks. “I need to know who did it. And I’m close, so fucking close.”
You shake your head and finally, with a burst of bravery, you hold his face between your hands. His mouth closes shut. Your chest feels as if someone filled it to the brim with rocks. It’s heavy and overwhelming. You can barely breathe as you fix your gaze on him. Without even realizing you begin to stroke the apple of his cheeks, you swear he leans into your touch, your bodies growing closer.
“Listen to me, Mike,” your voice trembles. “If you don’t stop you’ll end up losing everyone who cares about you.”
His hand closes over yours, “Does that include you too?”
“What if it did?”
“I can’t. . .” he chokes. “I can’t stop.”
You pull away, body feeling chilled in his absence. You blink away the tears, swallow the persistent knot in your throat. It was an empty threat. You know you won’t leave, no matter how insistently you implied that you might. “Then I think you should go. You’re going to miss your shift.”
“Fuck my shift.”
You feel the soft touch of his lips. It grows violent, smothering. You moan eagerly into his mouth, your wrist caught between his fingers, he pulls you closer. Mike slips his tongue between your lips and tastes you eagerly. Arousal pools between your legs, your stomach bottoming out as he whimpers and licks himself deeper into you. You melt against him. Your nipples tight and tingling with every lick.
His hand curls around the back of your neck, the gentle pressure making you break away, “Mike—” you whisper, eyes teary. He licks the seam of your lips and teases your bottom lip with his teeth. Slack-jawed, you tilt your head back, he eagerly dips down and closes his lips around your neck. “Take me to your room.”
Tumblr media
He’s gentle. So painfully gentle that you fear your heart might stop at any given moment. The back of his fingers trace the contours of your body slowly, gooseflesh rising in his wake, he buries his face into the crook of your neck and takes deep breaths as he lifts your shirt. Your eyes roll when his hands immediately cup both your breasts, thumbs toying with your pebbled nipples. The pads of his thumbs smooth over them slowly, it’s almost ticklish. A shiver runs up your spine and you gasp, he sucks the air that escapes your lungs, slanting his lips over yours.
The seam of your panties gather with slick. You desperately rub your thighs together. Heat blossoms over patches of skin, Mike sucks on your bottom lip and toys with the waistband of your sweats. “Can I taste you?”
“Yes,” you pant, the thought of his tongue parting you making you near delirious. Your breath hitches.
He gives your cheek a quick peck, “You have to get on the floor. My bed is too loud.”
“Just how hard are you planning to fuck me?”
His eyes darken, “Until you’re a mess.”
You drop to the ground, Mike following you close with kisses down the column of your neck. Your legs spread and he tugs down your sweats, revealing your soaked cunt. His chest heaves. You follow the movement of his tongue as it swipes over his bottom lip, his thumb dips between your folds and moves up to brush over your clit. Your legs twitch, electricity coursing over your burning skin.
“You have to keep quiet,” he groans, fingers slipping inside. Your head drops back, your back arches. A violent breath of air rips from your lungs and before it can become louder, you cover your mouth with both hands. “Good,” he murmurs, breath tickling your throbbing clit. Mike tentatively closes his lips around it, sucking, he pushes his fingers deeper.
Your throat constructs in of itself. Waves of pleasure washing over you like warm grains of sand. The sounds coming out of you are downright sinful and with each thrust of his fingers it gets louder. Your insides clench around him and at the same time he curls his fingers, your eyes squeeze shut, your lips moving against the inside of your hand. Too good. It feels too good.
Without even noticing you had begun to grind your hips, the sensitive bundle of nerves pressing against his mouth harder. Mike moans wantonly into you, the sound coming out muffled. He moves his head side to side and flattens his tongue over your clit. Your fingers delve into the soft locks as you pull him closer.
He delves his tongue back and forth, rougher this time, faster. Your body goes rigid, forcing you to cry out into your hands as your orgasm takes you over. Sudden sparks of pleasure clash throughout your body, intensifying to unbelievable heights as he plays with your swollen nub. His mouth and fingers move endlessly until you’re gasping for air, shattered remnants of your desperate pleas mashed against your palm.
Mike glances up, eyes wild yet passionate with a cheshire-cat grin. His lips and jaw are soaked, glistening under the dim light. You feel your entire body motionless. He withdraws his fingers, licking them off one by one, he moves up your body and pushes his fingers between your lips. You swirl your tongue around them feverishly. Your cheeks unnaturally warm and heart thrumming fast against your ribcage.
He pulls his fingers out, gently cupping the underside of your chin, he rolls his hips. Your breath catches at the feel of his cock against your sopping core, you squeeze his shoulders, nails leaving crescent moons on his skin.
Mike doesn’t bother to remove his clothes, instead, he slides his hand between your bodies and under his pants, pulling out his dripping cock, he aligns himself with your core. He pushes into you inch by inch, the sounds you make getting louder and louder—Mike covers your mouth with his hand. “‘Gotta keep silent,” he breathes into your skin.
You nod frantically, your gasp bouncing off of his palm when he bottoms out. A loud groan escapes his lips, eyes meeting yours as his lips part. At the sight you clench around him, a fresh gush of wetness coating his cock.
Mike moves slowly inside you, finding a deep, rhythmic, steady rhythm that carries you towards bliss. His hips sway sensually, his thrusts pushing against the deepest parts of you. His hands tangle into your hair, and his eyes meet yours with a softened gaze. His breath is at your neck, and a guttural moan escapes his lips as he moves against you.
“Does—Does it feel good?” you whimper.
“Feels amazing,” he breathes into your open mouth, hips drilling into you, relentless. “You’re so fucking wet—”
He guides both of your hands up your chest to your breasts, holding them subtly as you both explore each other’s bodies, his lips finding your neck and shoulders. Your fingers begin to move deftly over your hardened nipples.
Breaking eye contact, he moves his lips down your neck, pressing them against your collarbone. His hips move faster now, and his hands roam over your body. You squeeze your breasts as a wave of pleasure washes over you, spilling out uncontrolled moans and cries that are subdued by his mouth above yours. He swallows the sounds you make.
He presses himself in deeper, hips slamming into yours, you feel yourself quickly barreling to the edge. Your eyes tear up and his hand slips away from your mouth, down to your waist. You claw at his back, your toes curling. Mike breathes heavily against your skin, and his thrusts grow desperate. You lock eyes with him one last time before you come undone in his arms, your orgasm crashing around him—He quickly pulls out, making your breath hitch painfully at the loss of contact, he comes over your stomach. Cock sliding over the sweat-soaked skin.
“Shit,” he grunts. “Fuck—That. . . that felt amazing.”
Before you can answer he kisses you deeply. His tongue dances above yours, his hips still softly rolling as his cock softens. “Don’t go,” he whispers into your mouth, kissing you again. “Please don’t go.”
You thread your fingers into the damp locks that are scattered over the back of his head, you tug gently, his eyes fluttering for a moment, a puff of air sensually leaving his lips.
“I won’t,” you answer, nipping the corner of his chin. “Not sure I could even if I tried.”

Children screamed and ran through the pizzeria, high off of cheap sugary candy and excitement. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place had become the go-to place for children's birthday parties and cheap pizza. Food, arcade games, prizes, and of course, the animatronics: it was a kid's dream. Everyone had their favourite member of the Faz-gang. There was Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken and Foxy the Pirate. On special occasions, another character would come out. A golden bunny. He was different from the other characters. He was controlled by a person. Someone inside the suit would walk around and entertain the kids when the main gang weren't on. He gave you the creeps. There was just something off about him that you couldn't describe. One of the employees had told you that the bunny was from a different location, and was meant to be part of a duo with a golden bear. You didn't really care for the other animatronics but you tried to stay away from the golden rabbit.
Tucked away in the corner of the main room, you sat at an abandoned table and drew away. Freddy's was your unwanted second home. Your parents worked. A lot. There was little time for them to look after you, and though they could afford to pay a babysitter, they chose to dump you at the pizzeria. Weekends and school holidays, you were there from open to close. More often that not, they forgot to pick you up too, too invested in their work to care about their own child. You couldn't escape the neglect at home, you parents would leave you to your own devices, continuing to work from home. It had taught you to become independent. You knew how to cook, clean and take care of yourself. It wasn't like you had any other choice.
You stared down at the page. The cheap waxy crayons Freddy's provided strewn across the table. Drawing had become your escape. As soon as the colours hit the page, everything else melted away. The sounds of screaming kids, pinball machines and singing animatronics became background noise. It helped you pass the time. Being at Freddy's from 9am to 9pm multiple days a week gets boring quickly. You had managed to get the high score on every arcade game, collected almost every prize available at the counter and tried every pizza flavour. You just wanted to go home.
At least the staff were lovely. Everybody knew you by name, always stopping by to make sure you were doing okay. They sometimes snuck you free ice cream too. You couldn't complain bout that. Seeing you here by yourself so often made them feel horrible. Many of the parents would stare and whisper. What kind of parent leaves there child here? You tried your best to ignore them. On days when your parents would forget to pick you up, someone would stay well past their shift to make sure you get picked up safely, letting you wait inside to avoid the cold weather.
"It's showtime, boys and girls!" a loud voice boomer over the intercom. "Come join Freddy and the gang for their latest song!"
Immediately, a tsunami of children flooded towards the show stage, jumping up and down excitedly as they waited for their favourite animatronics to appear. You didn't look up from your drawing. Colourful strobe lights painted the room as the rhythm of a pop sing started to play, the animatronics mechanically lip-syncing along. The chair across from you was pulled back and you heard the thud of someone sitting down. You peered up slightly from your drawing. Across from you was a girl about your age. Her long, golden blonde hair tied up in cute pig tails, adorned with colourful ribbons. She started at you, bright blue eyes filled with curiosity.
"Do you always sit by yourself?" she asked, you gave her a slow now, not putting down the crayons. The girl shuffled her chair over so she was next to you. "Woah!" she gasped, staring at your drawing. "You're really good!"
You shyly smiled, "Thank you."
"I'm Susan, but everyone calls me Suzie." Suzie offered her hand out for a handshake. After a moment of hesitation, you took it and introduced yourself.
You and Suzie quickly became friends. She came in every Saturday with her family for lunch. You learnt her favourite animatronic was Chica. She would carry around a plush of Carl the Cupcake and wore a shirt that said 'Let's Eat!'. The two of you would draw east pizza and draw together, sticking up your artworks on the wall which were adorned with hundreds of other drawings. Suzie would always insist yours were the best. She made your time at the pizzeria more bearable. You actually looked forward to Saturdays were you would get to see her. Her family was sympathetic towards your situation. In a way, you were jealous of them. All you wanted was a normal family. Parents who actually wanted to spend time with you. They always offered you a ride home, but you couldn't accept. 'My parents will be here soon,' you'd always insist. They were reluctant to leave you, but there was always and employee who's wait and keep you safe. You didn't want to burden them.
One Saturday, Suzie wanted to go watch the show. Chica was going to be performing a Cyndi Lauper song, two of Suzie's favourite things. You decided you would keep drawing then once the show was done, you'd go play arcade games together. The show ended, but Suzie didn't come back. You waited for a few minutes, she had probably just gone to the bathroom. But after fifteen minutes had gone by and Suzie hadn't returned, you started to get worried. Packing up your crayons, you began your search of the pizzeria. You went through every room twice, even checking the bathrooms. Nervously, you decided to approach her parents.
"Hi sweetheart," Suzie's mum greeted you, a kind smile painted on her lips. When she saw the worried look on your face, her face fell to one of concern. "What's wrong?"
"I can't find Suzie."
The next few weeks at the pizzeria were quiet. Cops came and went, searching the pizzeria top to bottom to see if they couldn't find clues to Suzie's disappearance. Her face was plastered all over the news: Young girl goes missing at local pizzeria. Slowly, the investigation slowed as nothing was being uncovered. You didn't want to go back to Freddy's. Your parents would drop you off, kicking and screaming until you had finally had enough. They dropped parents not to take you there. You plea fell on deaf ears.
You stood up, dusting dirt off of your jeans to begin the journey home. You turned around, taking one last look at the sign, Freddy waving with a big grin, illuminated by cheap neon lights. The walk home was long. You kicked rocks along the path, scuffing your shoes in the process, holding onto the straps of your backpack. A faded missing persons poster was taped to a light post. Suzie's familiar face stared at you ,a bright smile adored as if she wasn't missing. You felt your bottom lip tremble, running the rest of the way home.
When you got home, you were out of breath, taking a minute to sit on the porch steps and breathe. You tried to door but it was locked. Somewhere in the garden your parents kept a spare key. For the next half an hour, you searched the plants, turning over rocks and faded gnome statues until you found it. The house was empty. It would still be hours until your parents came home. You didn't care if they would be mad. You refused to go back to the pizzeria.
It was almost 10pm when your parents came home. You were half asleep, laying down on the couch as the TV played quietly in the background. "Why weren't you at Freddy's?" your father asked nonchalantly. He was tired from work, loosening his tie as he entered the living room.
You sat up angrily. "I'm not going back there. Suzie went missing there, you know. I'm not going back!"
Your father groaned, rubbing his forehead. "Whatever, I'm not dealing with you right now. Just stay at home." He walked upstairs, leaving you alone.
You slowly wandered up the stairs to your apartment, lugging bags of groceries up with you. Your arms burnt as the heavy bags gave you a workout. Fumbling with the keys, you managed to make your way inside. As soon as you stepped in, you were greeted by a bundle of letters in the hallway, having been pushed through the rust mail slot in the door. You sighed as you put your groceries away. The fridge was bare aside from a few half-empty condiment bottles. You scooped up the letters and flopped down on the couch, opening them up one by one.
Electricity. Overdue. Gas. Overdue.
The last one made your stomach drop.
Rent. Overdue. Final notice.
Angrily, you threw the bills onto the coffee table. You had until the end of the month to pay this month, plus the back rent or you'd be on the streets. After the events at Freddy's last night, you were planning on calling Steve today to quit but it didn't seem like that was an option now. Even if you took another job during the day, with minimum wage you would never be able to pay it all off. You rubbed your temples, trying to fight of the headache you felt brewing. There wasn't anyone else you could stay with either. Your relationship with your parents was non-existent. The second you turned 18, you left like a bat out of hell. You decided to take a nap before your shift, curling up on the couch, trying to ignore your impending doom.
"Abby, give me my vest." Abby, with Mike's oversized security vest hanging off her shoulders, stood firm. "I'm serious," Mike stated. "Give me the vest."
"No!" Abby protested. "I don't want to stay with Aunt Jane. She smells like cigarettes," she whispered.
Max had gone MIA. She didn't answer any of Mike's calls. He even tried calling her brother but it went straight to voicemail. As a last resort, he called Aunt Jane. Of course, she jumped on any opportunity to make Mike look bad. Oh, you can't take care of Abby? I'm not surprised, I guess I'll gave to do it. Mike grabbed Abby, throwing her over his shoulder. She squealed, banging on Mike's back. After a struggle, Mike managed to steal the vest off of her.
"She's all yours," Mike huffed, grabbing his backpack and heading out the door.
Dread filled his body as he drove to Freddy's. Every cell in his body was telling him to turn around, to call Steve and quit, but Mike powered forward. He needed this job to prove to the court that he was a fit guardian for Abby. If that meant putting himself at risk at a haunted pizzeria, he'd do it. There's nothing he wouldn't do to keep Abby safe. Mike was surprised to see your car when he pulled into the parking lot. He was almost certain you would have quit. You had already opened the pizzeria and were set up in the security office.
The sound of the door opening startled you. "I'm surprised to see you back here," Mike says, putting his backpack into the locker.
"I could say the same for you." Mike wedged the chair under the door, tugging on the handle to make sure it was secure. "Trust me, if I could quit, I would," you said with a sardonic chuckle.
The two of you had an unspoken agreement that you wouldn't be leaving the security office tonight. While the whole pizzeria was a death trap, the security office was the safest room. Mike noted as you anxiously bit your lip. You both sat in silence, eyes glued to the monitors and listening intently for any noises. Mike yawned, almost nodding off as he tried to keep focus on the monitors. He rubbed his eyes tiredly and you noticed his usual undereye bags were even darker than usual.
"You can sleep, y'know," you offered.
Mike immediately shook his head. "No, I don't want you be alone."
"I'll be fine, Mike," you promised. "You really look like you need the sleep. I'll be okay for a couple of hours."
Mike looked between you and the monitors before reluctantly agreeing. He grabbed his cassette player out of his backpack and put his headphones on. You couldn't help the small smirk which formed on your lips. Mike gave your chair a playful kick before settling into his own. You kept a close watch on the monitors, letting Mike get some rest. Your mind couldn't help but wander back to your many bills. Your stomach churned with anxiety. Unable to focus, you decided to properly explore the office. Despite working here for almost three weeks now, you never bothered to properly look through the office. You poured over the shelves, mostly filled with old paperwork and memorabilia. As you checked through the lockers, a bright orange container fell out. Curiously, you picked it up. 'Michael Schmidt,' the label read. 'Triazolam. Take 1-2 before bed.' Sleeping tablets. You glanced over at Mike before carefully putting the bottle back into his backpack. Feeling like you had overstepped a boundary, you quickly took your seat and went back to watching the monitors.
"Garrett!" Mike called out, watching in despair as the navy blue car skidded away. The sound of a twig snapping behind him caught Mike's attention. To his surprise, five young children were standing behind him. The blonde boy stood in front of the rest, staring Mike dead in the eyes.
"What is this?" Who are you?" Mike asked with confusion, looking across the group. T he children didn't move, staring at him in silence. "That car. Did you see who drove that car?" Did you see who took my brother?"
In an instant, the children scattered, running in different directions. This dream was different. They were never different. Every night he would relive the memory of Garrett being taken, but something was wrong this time. Mike began to chase after the blonde boy, following him deeper into the pine forest. Just as he was about to catch up, his foot got caught on a rock, sending him tumbling to the hard dirt below.
"Shit! Are you alright?" you asked, leaning down by Mike's side. He was fast asleep, then the next thing you knew, he had flown out of his chair onto the floor. Mike groaned, rubbing the back of his head as he slowly sat up. He looked around your office, your concerned gaze focused on his face.
"I'm fine," Mike assured. "How long was I asleep for?"
You helped him stand up. "A couple of hours. It's almost six. Did you have a bad dream or something?"
Mike sat back down into his chair with a huff. "Something like that. It happens a lot though. I'm used to it."
Your eyes flickered over to the locker, then back at Mike. You noticed his forehead was bleeding. "You've hit your head. I'll grab the first-aid kit. Are you sure you're feeling okay?" Luckily the first-aid kit was kept in the office so you wouldn't have to venture out. Even though nothing strange had happened tonight, you were still on edge. Kit in hand, you scooted your chair closer to Mike. You pushed his hair out of the way, gently cleaning the wound. It wasn't very deep, just a small cut.
"I'm fine." Mike winced slightly as you cleaned the wound. "Y'know how I have that book on dream theory?" you nodded. "Well, I use it to relive a memory of my brother. When I was younger, he got taken. No one ever found him or who did it."
"I'm sorry," you apologised. Your last day with Suzie came to mind. It had been so long since you thought about her. "So, you're trying to remember if you saw his face?"
Mike nodded. "Not having much luck though."
You finished cleaning his cut and gently placed a bandaid on top. Of course, the only bandaids in the supply box were Freddy Fazbear themed, not that Mike knew that. You tried to hide your smile as you stuck the Foxy bandage to his forehead, letting his hair fall back into place. "All better now."
The alarm on Mike's watched sounded, signalling the end of your shift. You shivered as you stepped out into the cold morning air, locking the rusty metal gates behind you. You decided to sit in your car and watch the sun rise, giving Mike a wave as he drove off. You looked at the Freddy's sign through the rear-view mirror and felt a pang of guilt hit your chest. You knew what it was like to lose someone dear to you. You thought about Suzie and the other kids who went missing. It was unfair that they were taken away. Their families deserved closure. You wanted closure. You started your car and began the drive home in silence.

PART TWO HERE
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Waking up from your uncomfortable position on the couch, you heard the rain pattering on the window. The cold air suddenly swarming your body as you woke from your slumber. You reach over and tap your phone on the coffee table, watching the screen light up and checking the time. 5:48 AM Mike should be home in about 30 minutes. You reluctantly decided to slowly remove the blanket, standing up and reaching your hands in the air, stretching your stiff body as much as humanly possible.
You decided to help Mike and start cleaning up the mess you and Abby made from your activities. You start picking up the crayons, markers, and pencils and place them in the pink basket you picked out for Abby hours before coming over, smiling at how she colored in the paper hearts that were stuck to the sides, picking up the loose paper and sticking it in a neat pile on the desk on the dining table for Abby to use when she wakes up. You walk directly towards the hallway, taking clothes from the hamper and starting a load of laundry. Softly chuckling to yourself about how manly the laundry detergent Mike picked out smelled, you filled up the cap with the green goop and threw it in the washer.
Mike walked through the door as you were finishing up the dishes, drying off the big bowls you and Abby used to make brownies. He kicked his shoes off by the door and placed his keys on the little hook above the light switch. He looked at you for a few moments, taking in how cute you looked dancing to the soft music that came from your phone, how pretty your hair looked slightly knotted from your nap on the couch, the shorts you were wearing creeping up your legs with every step you take.
Mike loved watching you, in the least creepy way possible. He adored everything about you, taking the little extra time he had to notice things he never had any interest in noticing in anyone else before. You were so different and he was so infatuated, interested in getting to know you, getting to know your interests, getting to know your body. He thought about you constantly, something about you made him feel like a teenage boy. He was deep in thought when you turned around, yelping when you noticed him staring at you.
“You want to take a picture? Some people say they last longer” you say smirking, crossing your arms at the brown-eyed boy.
He chuckled softly at your flirtatious comment, a light pink dusting spreading across his tired face, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. You were listening to music and didn’t hear me come in.”
“It’s okay, I was just finishing up some dishes, I didn’t think it would’ve been fair to leave you with the brownie mess” His ears perked up with excitement “You made brownies?”
He faked surprise, ‘Of course, you made brownies’. You were always doing extra things, it was his favorite thing about you, always doing the most and expecting nothing in return.
You grabbed a brownie for yourself before sliding the plate over to the pretty boy. You stayed leaning against the island, smirking to yourself when you saw Mike's eyes dart to your chest.
“Abby and I made them, she said that she wanted to surprise you when you got off work”
“I swear that kid is only nice to me when you’re here,” he said, partially to you and partially to himself.
Rolling your eyes “You know that isn’t true, she adores you”
“I would strongly disagree, She told me I was the ‘dumbest person ever’ when I told her she needed to eat more than just spaghetti and pizza”
“To her defense, she ate brownies today, that's more than spaghetti and pizza”
“I cannot believe you would rather agree with a 10 year old than me” He put a hand over his heart, sighing heavily to show he was hurt by your words. “I always knew you liked Abby more than me.”
You looked at him, eyes wide at his comment. “Sorry, I thought it was clear that I liked her more than you” you paused, for dramatic effect “I never tried to keep it a secret.”
He laughs grabbing a second brownie, and moving away from the kitchen island toward the couch. “You coming?”
“I could be” you winked, smirking at him. He shook his head, thinking of all of the ways and positions he really could make you cum.
You start to follow him, scolding yourself for flirting with him, staying behind for a few seconds to click the lid back on the Tupperware container.
You walk around to the left side of the couch, opposite to where Mike was sitting. After your comment, you got nervous, thinking you pushed it too far. You started noticing the quietness that suddenly arose and not knowing what to say to make things less awkward.
Mike was the first to break the silence, “How was she today?”
“She was good, I was able to pull her away from her drawings long enough to watch a movie. We watched Coco and the end made her cry, then she called me a monster for making her watch it and walked right back to the bedroom to color” You giggle at the memory of the evening you had with the younger sibling.
“Sounds like Abby” Mike sighed “At least she’s warming up to you enough to sit and watch a movie with you, I can’t remember the last time we sat down for a movie”
You grabbed his hand, noticing the sadness that started to form on his face. “You know she loves you, she talks about you constantly, you’re front and center of every one of her drawings. You’re her favorite person”
He smiled softly at your kind words, grateful to have you there to comfort him. “Thank you”
“Of course, that’s what I'm here for”
“Technically you're here because you babysit my sister, but it does make me feel good to think that you’re here only for me”
“Yeah yeah Schmidt, keep telling yourself that”
“Speaking of” Mike trailed off, “It’s going to be just a little bit longer before I can pay you, the new job doesn’t offer insurance so I have to pay for everything out of pocket and Abby was just sick-” You cut him off
“Mike you know I’m not worried about it” he sighed and you could tell by the look on his face that he was still bothered by not being able to pay her.
It had been three weeks since you started babysitting for Mike, coming early to help him make dinner before he leaves for work and staying late to get Abby dressed and feeding her before driving her to school so Mike could get more than an hour of sleep.
You enjoyed helping Mike and loved taking care of Abby, you were the oldest child in your family, so you were used to caring for people.
Mike hated it, it made him feel so guilty. He felt like he was taking advantage of your kindness, promising you every day that it would be only a little bit longer before he could pay you.
“You know, if you feel bad you could just repay me with a favor”
Mike perked up. His mind was filling with ideas of what could fall out of your pretty little lips. He would do anything you asked him to, make you dinner, give you a massage, eat you out for hours and hours. ‘God, why was he suddenly so horny?’
“What kind of favor are you thinking?” slightly squeezing his hand that was placed across your soft thighs. As soon as the words came out of his mouth he felt like a cheap whore, suddenly nervous that he was coming onto you so strong and you wouldn’t reciprocate.
“As tempting as this favor is,” you say placing a hand on his chest “I was thinking something else”
He was suddenly so embarrassed. He quickly pulled his hand away, placing it in his lap, and looking away from your beautiful face. You felt bad seeing a pitiful look on his face, hurting Mike’s feelings was the last thing you wanted to do.
“My brother is getting married in two weeks and I need a date.” He was ecstatic, pushing his horny feelings aside, he could picture it in his head; you two hand in hand, his tie matching your dress, sharing a kiss after your first slow dance-
“My boyfriend has a work conference and he has to be at” You have a boyfriend? “and my family is so annoying if I know if I come without a date, all they would do is tell me that I’m wasting my life away and I’m going to forever be so lonely and-” You have a boyfriend? How could he not know that?
“Mike, are you listening to me? If you’re uncomfortable pretending to be my boyfriend then I could always ask someone else”
“I’ll do it” Against his better judgment, he agrees, hoping that something could come out of it
“Really? Oh my god, thank you so much!” You lean over and hug him “You’re really saving my ass”
“Anything to help” he laughs, trying to make it seem like you didn’t just stab him in the chest with a casual mention of your boyfriend.
Suddenly, your alarm goes off and you pull away from the hug. Mike felt cold at the loss of contact.
“It’s 7:30, you should get to bed” you state standing up from your spot on the couch “I’ll get Abby ready from school so you can catch up on some sleep, I’ll text you the details of the wedding after I drop her off”
Mike watched as you walked away, feeling like he just got punched in the gut. You didn’t feel the way he did and god that was embarrassing. He never had time to even think about a relationship and the first time in a long time he does, the girl in question has a boyfriend.
Mike let out a deep sigh and got up, heading towards his bedroom ready to close his eyes and forget about the miserable conversation. As he walks past Abby’s room he notices you crouched beside her bed, softly shaking her awake.
Fake boyfriend or not, at least he knows he won’t be pretending about his feelings for you to your family.

hey! may I request something where the reader opens up to boyfriend!Mike about their past (like moving around a lot as a kid or feeling disconnected from family) and Mike reassures them that they are loved and will always have a home with him and Abby? (hurt/comfort please! thanks for your writing!)
No Big Deal
pairing: mike schmidt x gn!reader
summary: mike comes home to find you feeling down and you open up to him about your past.
contains: mention of family issues/not having a healthy relationship with family, mike comforts reader, angst - nothing extreme tho!
mike and you had been dating for a little over 2 months, you were both at a stage in your relationship where you were comfortable telling each other anything. mike had opened up to you about his brother garrett, about his dreams, and the loss of his mother. you comforted him, listening and being there for him whenever he needed you.
there were moments when you doubted telling mike about your past, it wasn’t that you didn’t trust him enough to open up to him—you were more concerned of being a burden with your own problems. you didn’t want to add to mike’s pile when he finally seemed at ease.
today in particular you had felt a sudden desperation for your family, feeling home sick. you weren’t sure if that was the right word in your case, you had never really felt at home with them. growing up you had always felt disconnected from them, never really fitting in with them. at gatherings, birthdays, and holidays you always found yourself hiding for long periods of time in the bathroom. oddly enough, there were times when you missed them, not necessarily them but the idea of a family.
you hear the front door open, abby running inside, the sound of her belongings in her backpack rumbling. she shouts you a quick, chirpy “hello” before running to her room.
“hey.” mike greets, sitting on the sofa next to you. you murmur a reply back, and immediately mike can tell something is off. you weren’t sure what gave it away, honestly. “hey, are you alright?” he asks with a softer tone, his eyes begging to meet yours.
“yeah.” you force a faux smile, not meeting his eyes.
mike has never been an expert when it comes to comforting but ever since he’s met you he’s tried his best to learn, taking mental notes from the times you’ve helped him through his struggles.
he leans closer to you, his hand coming to rest on yours. “hey, it’s okay, you can talk to me.” he whispers for only you to hear. you finally meet his gaze, his eyes soft as they stare into yours. you feel a sudden comfort while looking into his, wanting nothing more but to stay like this forever.
you sigh softly and tell mike everything. you tell him about the constant moves as a kid, how disconnected you’ve always felt from your family, how growing up you never felt loved by your family and how you never really felt like you even had a family. you notice his expression change when you say that last bit, you say it so casually like it’s no big deal that it pains him. mike feels a sudden urge to wrap himself around you so he moves forward and pulls you into an embrace, his chin resting above your head, your face buried into his chest hearing his heart thump. you stay like that for a moment, it’s oddly quiet between the two of you but comforting. mike kisses the top of your head before pulling away.
“i’m sorry,” he says, and then: “i don’t know if this helps but i want you to know you are so loved here. by me and abby.” his hand brushes over your cheek, you’re eyes are brimming with tears. “you don’t have to go back to them if you don’t want to. you’re always welcomed here, yeah? this can be your home if you’d like, okay?” he can’t help himself and leans forward to kiss your forehead. he moves down to your lips, kissing you innocently. your foreheads rest against each other’s, it’s nice. you feel cared for—loved for the first time.
“i love you so much,” he cups your face in his hands, your eyes meeting again. “we both love you so much. stay here with us, yeah? if you want to.”
you smile, tears running down your cheeks. “yeah, okay.” you choke out a laugh that follows up with a sob, and without even thinking you bury your face into mike’s chest, his hand stroking your hair as he wraps his other arm around you.
“i love you.” he repeats, it’s muffled, his face buried in your hair, but you can’t help but smile at the words.
i love you
i love you
i love you.

Scott Street
Part Four
Mike Schmidt ft Childhood lover Reader.
"Come on mike, you're being slow!" Abby said as she was dragging mike infront of the flower store.
Abby opened the glass door as it creates a sound because of the bell at the door, "Hi auntie! Where is miss (y/n)?" Abby asked as she is looking around for your figure.
"Mike?" Your mother stared wide eyed as he looked at her on surprise, "Ma'am.." that's all mike had said he's speechless, he will finally meet you.
Your mother rushed to hug him as he was about to tear up like he did when he was a kid, "Mike oh my god.. You have grown so much." Your mother said as she faced mike who is about to cry out of excitement.
"I'm sure both of you are excited to see (y/n). But she couldn't work right now.." Your mother said as she looked at abby who looks sad since she was missing you, she even bring her drawing of you holding a pink flower.
Since it was still early your mother made abby and mike stay for a while, as she explained abby on how she knows mike and everything about both of you and mike. She cringed a little on how cry baby mike used to be but she find it cute.
Mike told your mother that he wants to surprise you so she gave him the address of your house as he bought your favorite flower and your favorite food. But he made sure to buy medicine for you of course. He couldn't contain his excitement your mom knew that, seeing him almost tear up about hearing your name.
"Hey i couldn't go home for lunch so i delivered a food for you, the driver will be there probably a minute." Your mother said as she called you so you will be alert once someone rings the doorbell, she texted mike after the phone call telling him that she had called you.
As expected around 5 minutes mike had finally rang the doorbell as you rushed downstairs to answer the door, hearing your footstep approach the door makes his breath hitch.
"How much is- Mike?" It made you tear up seeing him for the first time again, as he was just about to spread his arms you had already crashed him into a big hug as you cry about how much you missed him.
When both of you had finally relaxed both of you chuckled seeing on how both of you are excited with each other, you invited him inside and into the kitchen as you rushed to get him a water since you saw him sweating bullets.
"(Y/n) you still look beautiful as ever. I'm sorry, I'm sorry i wasted so much time i didn't fin-" You shush mike with a hug as you already know how much he loves you and you understand his struggles. "I needed this rest." Mike said as he closed his eyes out of comfort.
It was already expected that both of you will talk about everything that had happened in your lives.
"We still stayed the same right, we are still together like we promised?" You asked to mike as he agreed without hesitating as he showed you his pinky finger which where the ring you gave him that day he wears it.
You watched the movie you guys used to watch when you were kids, it feels so nostalgic for you. Even you love that moment you didn't want to comeback from that time, you already love this present. Finally getting to enjoy your time with him. You are no kids anymore so there's no adults that would say that it is only a puppy love.

So I guess I should do an intro post / fanfic masterlist
Hi.
• I'm 20 yrs old, she/her, and obsessed with Josh Hutcherson. (Mike & Futturman especially have my heart)
• I'm new to writing, but I read like crazy and spend 90% of my time daydreaming up little stories about my favorite characters. Just using Tumblr as an outlet to get those little stories to the world.
• Feel free to request any fanfic related to a jhutch character. I'm most comfortable writing for Mike, Futturman, and Derek, but I'm willing to try to write for other characters. (Minus Peeta. Thinking about the Hunger Games makes me unreasonably sad & I'm not sure I know his character well enough to do him justice.)

Paying Bills
Tumblr media
FNAF MOVIE SPOILERS
Mike Schmidt X Reader
Mike doesn't like you wanting to help pay his bills and you hear more about Freddy’s from a work friend and that raises a lot of questions
I have no clue how to categorize this so its just staying blank but expect a tiny bit of angst
Mike watched as you put on your Sparky's uniform, tying the apron around your waist. "You don't have to take more shifts for us, you know that right?" You adjusted your hair before turning to face him. "I know Mikey. I know. It's just.. this is my home too, I should help pay for the house, for the groceries." You pressed a kiss to his head before heading towards the front door. "Hey Abbs! Do you want anything from Sparky's?" "Can I get a chocolate shake?" Her voice sounded from her room and you looked toward Mike. He shook his head. "Sorry Abbs, next time! Anything else you want?"
“Do you guys still have the spaghetti?” She yelled from the door of her room and you chuckled softly. “I’ll see if we have some at the end of the night! If not, I’ll pick you up some pizza!”
You opened the door and laughed, seeing Ness sitting in his car, waiting for you. “Don’t worry about driving me, Mikey. Ness is here to drive me, guess he had something to do on this side of town.”
You gently closed the door and headed to Ness' car, opening the door and smiling at the man as you slid into the seat. Ness waved to Mike who was watching from the window before checking to make sure you were seat belted before taking off.
"Did you hear about that job councilor that went missing? His car was found outside Freddy's." Ness said as he drove and you sighed, looking at him. Your eyes narrowing at him. "Why are you bringing this up?" "Well, your boyfriend's last job was there, wasn't it a little suspicious that he and his kid got out of there safe?"
"Ness, Abby isn't his kid and if Mike knew anything that happened to that guy, he would've said something."
"Come on! You gotta be wondering what happened to that officer too! Mike was the one that brought her in!" Ness turned to look at you and you were staring him down, your hands clenched.
"Officer Shelly was hurt in a freak accident and Mike happened to be there. He would never ever hurt anyone, especially people who helped him." Your voice was tense and as soon as the car stopped in Sparky's parking lot, you ripped the seat belt off of you and quickly got out. "If you ever talk about Michael like that again, I assure you that you will have worse things to think about, Ness."
"Okay, if not Mike, then how about Abby? She's questionable too! They had a dead body in their living room!" Ness said, getting out as well, and you snapped. "You talk about that little girl again, Ness, I'll fucking key your car. Keep my family's names out of that mouth."
You stormed off toward the back entrance and had to sit next to the wall, trying to calm yourself. You didn't mean to get so defensive about Freddy's or about Mike and Abby, you just knew how hard it was to think about that night and just what that "job councilor" did to Mike and Abby.
Later that day, you ended up walking home, shoes in one hand and a chocolate pie in the other. You decided that chocolate always makes things better and you needed to give Mike a break from constantly driving you around and wasting gas. You showed up at the Schmidt house and gently opened the door, being quiet as you slid the pie onto the table.
You didn't have time to stop the smile on your face when you saw Mike and Abby curled up on the couch, asleep. You resisted the urge to just stand there and watch them, you turned to put the pie in the fridge, to save it for tomorrow and you sat and took off the apron while you just stared at them. You knew if Ness was already talking about Freddy's others were going to as well and you needed to prepare Mike for that.
You headed for the bathroom, stopping by Mike's room to grab your clothes and you got changed in the bathroom. You had dozens of thoughts in your head, mostly were about random customers throughout the day and some were about those same customers calling you a liar for hiding what truly happened to Vanessa and her father.
A soft knock sounded as you slid your shirt on and gently opened the door to see Mike and a very sleepy Abby on his shoulder. "Is everything okay?"
You smiled and pressed a kiss to Abby's head before making eye contact with Mike. "Yeah, everything's great! Sparky's was busy today, I think I got coffee in my shoes."

FNAF OC - Samantha Price
Another FNAF OC rework 🎉
Along with Blueberry, Sam was one of my first FNAF OC ever ! I'm proud I got the chance to gave her a new life ✨️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*This version of Sam is only canon to the games and to my own interpretation of the timeline. Her book/graphic novel version will be describe in another post.
If you want to see more FNAF content : click here
Physical Appearance
Sam is a women in her late twenties. She have hazel eyes and light brown, almost blonde hair. When she is working at Freddy's during the day, she wear the female uniform : a light purple blouse, with her tag name and a purple pencil skirt. She usually tie her hair up in a French twist.
As a Night Guard, she wear another uniform, more practical. She is still wearing a light purple blouse, with black pants, dark boots and a Security cap. Her hair are simply attached in a low ponytail.
Personality
Samantha can be described as this "normal/random" girl working at a restaurant and living a banal life. She don't especially want to drive attention on her, and try to be as discreet as possible. Nevertheless, she is polite and do her best to help customers to enjoy their experience at Freddy's.
Sam loves to take care of people, especially children. When she was with her little sister years ago, she enjoyed spending time with her and inventing games and activities they could do together. She also took care of her grandmother when she moved to her house. While working at Freddy's, Samantha take special care to entertain children, like she did with Lizzy when they were young.
Sam is stubborn but purposeful. Even if she stick to her ideas/goals, she knows when she have to stop or reconsidering her choices/actions. While she was searching for the truth about her sister's disappearance, she learned how to be carefull and discreet in order to get informations she needs. Even tho, sometimes she can be too clumsy and nosy, which can get her into troubles.
Appearances
Samantha Price was born on September 1967. She was rised by her mother and grandmother, since her father left them when she was still a baby. When she was 7 yo, her mother fell in love with another man. In 1979, they had a daughter together named Elizabeth Gibson, Sam' step sister.
Sam and Lizzy were inseparable. Even if they didn't have the same age, Sam loves to take care of her little sister. Unfortunately a terrible event will separate them forever. In 1985, while Sam's family was dining at Freddy's Fazbear's Pizza, Lizzy along with other kids disappeared.
Months after the incident, Sam will leave her home town to live with her grandmother. Her parents were not able to take care of her anymore, her family was falling apart from this tragedy.
After the death of her grandmother, and years after the missing children incident at Freddy's, Sam decided to come back to the restaurant and discover what truly happened to Lizzy in 1985.
Now in 1993, Sam is working at Freddy's for more then 2 years. But the arrival of her new colleague, Mike Schmidt will change her routine. Together, their going to discover what really happened at Freddy's years ago...

VERSE — MOVIE ( CONTAINS SPOILERS & CANON DIVERGENT, tw for canon-typical themes & suicide mention )
just to get straight to the point : it's mainly canon divergent in the sense that i will be altering details in order to make mike an afton. do i think this is going to happen in the movie timeline? no. do i think it's more likely that they're going to explain the oddly personal kidnapping through mirroring the emilys? probably. but it's MY michael afton blog and i can put on my tinfoil hat as much as i want about it. of course i am willing to adapt based on other's info / preferences but given that this isn't my main canon anyway it is meant for those that are interested.
Mike thought he knew everything there was to know about what happened to his family: what he was never told is who his real father was. He was too young to remember anything about William Afton before his mom separated herself from him entirely ( one night stand, breakup, what have you, i'm not picky- ), so he always thought of the father he grew up with as his dad, the reality never changed anything about that.
Until he was twelve years old and Garrett went missing, and everything fell apart. William followed the Schmidts there, taking Garrett in a targeted attack ( whether or not he was trying to grab Mike, took him out of spite, anything else is also flexible ). Everything grew solemn and tense, each of the Schmidts lost in their own individual grief. Slowly, they stopped having dinners together, stopped going out as a family, stopped being able to feel like things were normal. The grief and guilt only added to Mike's developing anger issues and depression. Although it wasn't on purpose nor with any malicious intent, his dad was the more distant of his parents at the time, serving as the first hint towards his biological parentage and simply because as much as he cared for mike, he was grappling with losing his biological kid ( think tse henry- well meaning but drowning in grief enough for the child to pick up on it ).
This is where Abby comes in, where the Schmidts have another kid in an attempt to feel like a normal family again. It almost seems to work, although there is still that underlying sense of collective grief. Mike was older by then, too ( while he graduates high school, he either doesn't go to college at all or doesn't finish it ).
Their mom dies and the brief sense of possible stability disappears again. It's when Mike is staying at home again for the funeral/to help with Abby that their father commits suicide, unable to take the grief. Mike has had custody of Abby since then.
The events proceed as they did in the movie, William's recognition of Mike in the office not only stemming from the kidnapping but the fact that it's his kid, although Mike doesn't find anything out beyond the fact that it's the man who took Garrett. There is potential for more hints towards this in past interactions with his aunt or birth records or even his dynamic with Vanessa, but for the most part this specific realization is left open.
Following the movie's events, he... does come home to his aunt in the living room. After reporting her death, Mike actually goes back to Freddy's one more time to get security footage in order to prove his innocence. Afterwards, he does his best to hold down another job to keep taking care of Abby in peace, but something about Freddy's gives him the sense that he'll come back to make sure nothing like this happens again.

don't mind me, just. writing a mini thing related to thoughts about William and Cassidy, and how those two know each other in Golden No Longer.
specifically, William and the names he knows Cassidy by.
(warnings: mentioned child murder and death, swearing, some mild mentions of homophobia, transphobia, and misgendering*, references to bullying, some graphic descriptions of violence and death)
*important to note: while Cassidy is nonbinary, and generally doesn't like feminine terms used for them (ex. Daughter, Girl, Ma'am, Miss, etc.), there are a few exceptions: Sister, Niece, and Aunt. so Afton is not misgendering them in the parts where he's referring to Cass as "Mike's Sister."
~~~~~~~
Over the years, William has come to know Cassidy by many names and titles. Some more positive, and others...not.
He came know them by several names rather quickly after meeting them:
Cassidy Jane Schmidt. "Cass." Adrian's Babysitter. Charlie's Friend.
The first two, rather obvious. It was their name, and the nickname most people called them by. Simple enough. And, of course, they were Adrian, his youngest son's, babysitter. A rather good one at that. Even if they did swear around him and Elizabeth too much for his liking. And okay, maybe calling them Charlie's "friend" was a bit of an understatement, but it's not like being open about it was exactly...without consequence in a town like this. Not that most kids their age hadn't caught on. He honestly wishes that Charlie could catch a break, that those children would mind their business for once. And Cassidy...they didn't even try to be mean about it most of the time; just asking employees to call them "Kid" or "Kiddo" instead of "Little Miss." Some got the memo, others didn't.
Don't get him wrong, he never had a problem with Cassidy. Sure, they were hard-headed, quick to anger, and, as he would put it, a sarcastic little shit, but they were a good kid at heart. A sweetheart, if you will.
But...well, to put it one way, after June 26th, 1982, he had two new names for them:
"The One I Wasn't Supposed To Kill," and Mike's Sister.
Mike had gotten lucky that night. It was supposed to be him. But, of course, William doesn't know what he expected. Cassidy was generally about five seconds from punching bullies in the face. From what Henry told him the night he killed Charlie Charlie died, Cassidy was in shambles, almost getting into a fight with the bullies that locked Charlie out to begin with. William himself heard Cassidy say they would "kill the bastard who killed Charles" (he always found their nickname for her rather sweet). He doesn't know what he really expected, honestly.
Of course they would protect their baby brother. Of course, after all of their friends had been ripped from them, they wouldn't willingly let the same fate befall their brother.
He still remembers them hugging their brother, telling him that they loved him, and that they'd be home soon (they wouldn't. they would never go home. they'd never see their brother again, at least not while they were still alive). He remembers the betrayal on their face. How hard they tried fighting back before he dragged them to the backroom. He remembers them swearing that they'd come back to haunt him, to kill him.
(oh, how he'd laughed back then, because ghosts aren't real, are they? of course not. it was just something Cassidy was saying to give themself some vague semblance of control in their final moments, or just a way to make sure William would live with that guilt the rest of his days. but no, they couldn't literally haunt him, surely. oh what a fool he was. what a fool he'd been.)
He remembers their screams of agony as the springlocks inside of Fredbear activated, how their blood slowly leaked out of the bear, how the suit writhed and twitched as Cassidy's body spasmed. How the bear finally stilled as Cassidy's life slipped away.
He remembers cleaning things up to the best of his ability. This was back before Henry had made the Nightguards mandatory, and nobody would be showing up until the morning. To him, he'd have all the time in the world to clean up. He remembers driving Cassidy's lifeless body out of the diner (he couldn't keep them in the suit this time. unlike Freddy's, the suits at the diner would be checked regularly. he couldn't have that), slightly out of town, before stopping near a secluded lake. For over 40 years, that would be Cassidy's final resting place.
(and as William leaves Fredbear's the next morning, after the interviews and all the questionings, he can almost swear that he feels eyes on him as he leaves. the eyes burn into him.
he's also not going to think about how, after Mrs. Schmidt brought the plushie that Cassidy had made for Adrian, that the boy had named it "Cass." he's not going to think about how, after he and his sons went to Fredbear's with it one time, he felt a presence leave with them. he won't think about how he swears that he always sees a shape, just out on the edges of his peripheral vision. he won't think about how Adrian constantly seems to talk to "Cass," the bear, and even pause as though he's being talked to before responding. he won't think about the fact that the bear always seemed to be watching, thinking. and he certainly won't think about the time he went to check up on his son, only to see Cassidy sitting across from him as casually as ever, covered in blood. he also won't think about how, upon his son asking his former babysitter what had happened to them, they slowly turned to stare up at him, eyes unblinking. Adrian might not have noticed it, but William certainly did.
and as he attempts to drill it into his son's head that Cassidy was nothing more than a coping mechanism, a figment of his imagination, he isn't entirely sure who he's trying to convince anymore: his son or himself.
because it can't be them, it can't it can't it can't they're dead he killed them he knows they're dead it can't be them so why are they there-)
It is in the new era of Freddy Fazbear's that William gets yet another name for Cassidy:
"A Thorn In My Side."
So maybe William had decided to kill again. He doesn't know what happened, if Charlie's murder had unlocked something in his mind or if his mind had simply broken from grief. He doesn't even know if he particularly cares anymore. All he knows is that one night in November of 1987, he decided to do it again. He didn't even have to pick the kids out this time: they just came to him. A group of three teenagers and two younger siblings, coming to figure out if the rumors of haunted robots and ghosts of dead children were true. They honestly made it almost too easy for him. There were even five. Just like last time.
Charlie had tried waking the others up. It seemed as though Gabriel was the only one who she was able to get up in time. She led him through the building, desperately trying to save those kids. Even in their robotic voices, they call out to each other: S-A-V-E-T-H-E-M.
They can't. The kids are already dead by the time the two of them started searching through the restaurant. Well, Charlie was ever the optimist and protector of innocents. Doesn't seem like death has changed her much in that regard. He can't even blame Gabriel for his naive hope that they could do something to help the children. The boy was only seven, after all.
No, what surprises him is when he gets done disarming Freddy, only to turn around and come face-to-face with Fredbear.
The golden bear twitches as it stands there, its empty sockets having only two glowing white dots for pupils. He can practically feel the rage radiating off of the suit, as though whatever ghost inhabited it was hardly containing their anger and desire to tear him to shreds.
He's not stupid. He knows it's Cassidy. And, rather unfortunately for him, it seems like whatever restraints holding them back have snapped. The bear lunges at him, letting out a robotic roar, but he manages to disarm this suit as well. He hurries to delete the evidence of his crime on the cameras, rushing out of the building.
And so this process would repeat for both this location and the one in the 90's. He witnessed The Mangle bite a man in the skull, only to stare at him, as though contemplating whether he was next (it was Jeremy, one of the boys responsible for Adrian's death. it almost feels as though this is retribution. even though there was an entirely different child possessing that thing, the incident screams Cassidy. the stare he was given certainly didn't help). It felt like a warning. Whatever warning he was being given, he decided for his own sake that he would heed it. He left early that day.
(he's there as Mr. Smith finishes his shift the next night, rambling about how he'd fucked with the animatronics. he doesn't calm down any as his boss yells that he's fired, rambling on and on about how his sons were still back there, in those suits. the kids were all still back there. the old animatronics seemed to stop attacking him upon realizing who he was. he could've sworn that Foxy and Bonnie, the originals, the ones they had found the bodies in just two years prior, seemed to look closely at him, as though they recognized him. it was his Jeremy and Junior, it had to be them, who else could it be? they need help, why wasn't anyone helping them? the manager (not Frederik. it would never be Frederik again. not after Gabriel...) tries to console the man, telling him that he needs to leave, that he is truly sorry for this man's loss, but that his kids were found two years ago. Fritz snaps at him, yelling that he "doesn't understand." he leaves with foreboding words: Fazbear Entertainment has innocent blood on their hands, and he has the suspicion that someone in the company is the one with the literal blood on their hands, someone who will someday get their just desserts.)
The cycle goes as follows: William would return to Freddy's, typically as some kind of employee, and he'd try to start over again in the company. But something would always happen; the death of an employee, some familiar face would show up, what have you. And, like clockwork, he feels Those Eyes upon him again.
This time, in 1993, he had a name change: Dave Miller. It seemed that not many recognized him, at least.
But from Day Fucking One, he felt Them looking at him again. They never did anything, given he worked the dayshift, and there wasn't much they could do in broad daylight. It didn't mean that their presence didn't make things harder. Daniel Scottson, their most trusted Nightguard, suddenly was found stuffed within a suit in the back. Employees quit. Every new hire for the next two weeks spent a single night in the place and quit the next morning, their faces pale and their eyes wide, talking of the robots moving around at night. Of those new hires, only one made it through the whole week, long enough to get promoted to the dayshift.
Mike Schmidt. Cassidy's younger brother.
He had dark circles under his eyes, and anxiety medication he had to take. It had been eleven years since that fateful night. He was freshly an adult, and yet he still had that distant look in his eyes he had all those years ago when he realized his sister wasn't coming home. Despite the stressful nights, he seemed almost determined to make it through his first week. As though something were spurring him on. It is only on the morning after his fourth night that he breaks down, telling "Dave" and his other coworker, Nate, what happened (not that William didn't already know): Cassidy had been killed over a decade ago. Mike knew he wasn't meant to survive. He was supposed to die that night. But Cass took his place, and they died instead. He's blamed himself for years; if only he had said something to their mom, if only he hadn't obeyed Cass and lied about where they were, if only he had grabbed onto their hand and ran like hell, if only, if only, if only. In some ways, he feels like he's getting closure doing this job.
(As William tries to at least pretend he's comforting the poor young man, he feels Cassidy stare at him again, the rage burning into him. He can feel it in their gaze: How dare you comfort him, as though you aren't the one responsible for his suffering? How dare you pretend that you care that you destroyed his life? How dare you sit there and pretend that you didn't rip everything away from him?)
Mike returns at the end of his fifth night, tears in his eyes and looking as though a weight were lifted off of him. When asked by Nate, he simply responds with, "I think I got what I came here for. I haven't felt this light for over a decade." William checks the cameras. He sees that damn poster show up on 2B, and hears noises come out of The Office. It sounds like Mike talking to someone, but whatever responses he gets seem to glitch out the cameras, but it's clear that Mike was talking to someone.
It seems that Mike got that closure he wanted. And when the place shut down about a year later, William waited. It was 1996. William was about to get some closure of his own.
Those kids wanted to be free? He'd free them. Maybe then they'd stop causing him problems.
Of course, that's not how it went, did it? Those kids didn't just want to be free. They wanted vengeance. And Cassidy, specifically, wanted him to suffer.
Unfortunately, he found that out too late.
He mostly only knew Cassidy as a thorn in his side for years after that. They'd sit with him in the Saferoom, simply staring him down. Sometimes they'd talk to him. Even after he was freed, he only considered them an annoyance.
Of course, up until That Fire. The fire Henry set.
He did say Not To Keep The Devil Waiting, after all.
William just didn't think about who that "devil" would end up being. Not until he felt himself getting dragged down, but not into fire.
No, something that was, in his opinion, far worse awaited him.
......He doesn't know how long he's been here. If it's been days, weeks, months, years. Fuck, maybe it's been seconds, he doesn't know anymore. All he knows is that he's been living in a constant cycle for a long time now. He's been torn limb from limb, has been ripped to shreds by creatures that only exist in people's nightmares, set on fire, and has been left in agonizing pain. But then it would reset, as though nothing ever happened. Sometimes he would make it through "shifts," more stressed then he'd ever been, only for it to reset again.
He now has a new name for Cassidy, but not one he gave them himself:
"I HAVE SEEN HIM, THE ONE YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE KILLED."
"He's here, and always watching: The One You Shouldn't Have Killed."
"Greetings from the fire, and from The One You Should Not Have Killed!"
Sometimes, he finds himself in a dark void, only one thing visible in front of him: Fredbear, twitching into the darkness, as though in agony. He remembers that night, the night he took Cassidy's life in the most painful way possible. The night Cassidy swore vengeance. Swore to haunt him, kill him, make him suffer how they had ALL suffered.
Aside from that name, William had one more for them: Tormentor.
William wouldn't really say that he regretted what he'd done back in 1982. Not at all.
But he would say that Cassidy's murder was one of his greatest mistakes.
A mistake that he feels that he'll pay for, for a long, long time to come.
FNAF MOVIE SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT YET I MEAN IT!!!!!!!
im ab to rewatch it at home and ill be writing what i think during it
im not gonna be talking ab stuff i already said in my other post lol
the FIRST SCENE is already fucking visceral dude. like they dont show any gore or anything but damn the fucking. aaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAA ITS GOOD its so good. also the previous security guard does exactly the same thing mike does later own to try to escape the freddy mask but mike succeeds and he doesnt, which is kinda like how in game phone guy (previous security guard) goes through the same process we do but we/mike survives and he doesnt. cool!!
THE INTRO WITH THE MINIGAME STYLE... DUDE. DUDE. I LOVE THIS MOVIE ITS A LOVE LETTER FOR THE FANS FR I WAS SO HYPE WITH EXCITEMENT I ALMOST STARTED CRYING IN THE THEATER. ALSO ITS JUST FUCKING COOL LOOKING
the rainbow!!!!! in the coffee shop scene!!! its the fnaf world rainbow!!
see the movie has the scene where william reads the name michael schmidt and pauses and long time fans will prob be like aha is that william realizing this is his son. but no thats where it tricks you bc hes actually just realizing this is a relative of that kid he kidnapped a while ago. which like obviously cuz why would william realize this guys his son by reading his, fake name?? but confirmation bias or smth
I WAS SO SHOCKED BY SEEING MATPAT THE FIRST TIME I WATCHED THAT I DIDNT CATCH HIM SAYING "THATS JUST A THEORY". OH MY FUCKING GOD DUDE
🎶It's getting lonely, it's getting hard to breathe
The arcade's empty, I think it's Christmas Eve
Someone's broken in, now they're painting on my skin
Breaking me and taking my quarters
Bashing in my face with a crowbar
Kicking me and pushing me over
Now they see my blood on their sneakers🎶
i am so jealous of the midnight motorist shirt its not even funny
my complain is that how did none of the animatronics have blood on them after brutally killing several ppl. come on!!!
me hearing the words "follow me" on a fnaf movie: holy shit is this a motherfucking fnaf reference?!?!?
oh my god that totally is the fucking fake dog animatronic
oh my god they dont actually swear in the og. she said "what in the heck" but portuguese translated that to what the fuck. incredible. amazing.
"i know what crazy looks like, mike. this isnt it" OH. OH
vanessas behavior was already pretty understandable without the extra context but knowing shes williams daughter makes it JUICY. ooo yeah baby gimme the trauma gimme the guilt
the scene with the animatronics and abby being besties felt a bit too ooc at first to me and ive heard that other people felt the same but as i think more about it it does kinda make sense. one of the main differences from the game is that in this the ghost kids' minds seem to be pretty intact? or like they can think theyre fully conscious etc so. i can see them wanting to do kid stuff. and i saw someone point out that they were actively trying to get abbys trust too so they could convince her to 'join them' (bc afton was somehow influencing them to be #evil) so, theres that. and either way it doesnt take away from the overall experience so who cares
the tv scenes were such a missed oportunity they couldve shown the immortal and the restless... i kept waiting for it :(
oh my god the airplane. i just realized she had garretts toy airplane bc william gave it to her after he killed him oh my god i feel sick
the ball pit wasnt even time travelling 0/10
i didnt watch the credits long enough in the theater to hear the COME FIND ME but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA dude
yeah so good. i fucking loved this
Inspiration: I'm gonna be honest I have no idea
Micheal was a product of a drunken night between Jennifer and William and the direct cause to their marriage. Takes more after his mother in attitude and most of his looks.
While he had a somewhat better relationship with his father than William did with his own, he didn't have a healthy one. He craved any sort of attention or praise from his dad and soon resorted to bullying his siblings to get some form of attention. He never got any regardless and was told to 'try harder' and he'll be rewarded.
This bullying stopped after he shoved his brother into Fredbear's mouth and got suspended from school due to a nasty fight. This was partially due to being traumatized and also William allowing him to help out with his projects (aka Jen told him to and the couch wasn't comfortable)
He gained a talent for robotics and was even the one who made BonBon for Funtime Freddy
He had no idea until the events of Sister Location that the robots were made to kill, or that his sister was killed by Circus Baby. He genuinely thought that Elizabeth just ran away again.
Moved away from the house after his mom said William wasn't coming home again. Part of him was relieved.
Went to therapy and finally realized that his dad sucked and he can break this toxicity that seems to curse the guys in his family (well, most of them)
Got healthy male role models in the form of Henry and his Uncle and made some friends in the neighborhood
Curiousity kills the cat when he gets a message from an unknown number recommending a job at Circus Baby's Pizza World that featured some familiar faces (he was overjoyed at seeing bonbon again but not when funtime freddy was also involved)
When he took over the role of Mike Schmidt, it was less a new name and more of the actual Mike Schmidt needed to leave town for safety reasons and Micheal offered to just take his place at the pizzeria so he could focus on skedaddling (win-win)
Was unaware of Springtrap/Scraptrap being his dad until he spoke, and then Henry let Micheal have an extra taser because he refused to do his work without it handy (eventually it was agreed that Micheal would be allowed to have metal bat because he kept breaking his computer with the taser)
Grew close to Henry after the move and working with him made them closer, Micheal got a father figure and Henry got to care for someone again (to the point where they sat next to each other in the final moments)
Returned from the dead to assist other spirits with animatronic ties with the task of moving on, regardless of whether it was because of his father or not. Is assisted by his brother who took the form of Fredbear in what he finds to be the darkest joke Louis has ever made
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inspiration: I always think of the Clown from dbd but that's very loosely related but its a lot of the dbd killers tbh
Was always that kid who had animal skulls in his room, or knew just a little too much about medieval torture methods
Had a horrendous relationship with his father that was physically and mentally abusive
Was more or less raised by his older brother (who isn't that much older mind you) and his doormat of a mother, who he cared for dearly
Has only used a firearm once, and it was to finally rid the house of the monster that hurt everyone inside, he hasn't touched one since
Was forced to move to America by his mother after his brother convinced her that he killed her husband
Was favored by his mother over the elder sibling and was effectively free from punishment
Met Jennifer after she threw her stuffed rabbit his face with enough force that she made his nose bleed, she apologized but wasn't sincere ("He looked at me funny Ma!")
Was a little bit unnerving to be around but still managed to make a few friends when he was younger in the form of Henry, Jennifer, and a kid named Casey who went missing (and before anyone asks no he had no hand in this)
Was obsessed with robotics and made a promise with Henry to make robots when they got older
Learned how to play guitar so he could impress Jen, ended up embarrassing himself and also fell out of a tree. Surprisingly, she found this charming and asked him out (while also laughing)
Got wasted on his 21st birthday and take a wild guess what happened that night
Came up with the concept for Spring Bonnie thanks to Jen's stuffed rabbit and even helped make the springlock suit itself
When asked by Henry why he did what he did (aka murder) he just laughed in his face and started talking about freeing them from the monsters while also referring to himself as one. No one had any idea what he was talking about but managed to escape getting the police called on him. He had no reason other than he knew he could get away with it, figured he might as well play tragic villain to amp up the guilt
Probably should've gotten therapy after the move but never did
Genuinely cared for his children but had an obvious favorite in the form of Elizabeth (who wasn't even his)
Figured ignoring Micheal would keep him from patricide but just made things worse
Figured out quickly after a head count during that party with Circus Baby what happened to his daughter and made off with the animatronic as soon as possible, lying to his family that she ran away again but would turn up eventually
Has never laid a hand on his children but was unaware what total ignorance towards them would lead to
After the Fredbear incident he at least paid more attention to Micheal, if only to prevent the boy from shoving his daughter into another bear mouth
Is an excellent cook and good at drink mixing
Never really got along with his own brother but at least respected him for what he did (including the biggest cover he was ever given)
After Micheal made his intent to bash his dad's animatronic face in clear, he decided that Micheal was no longer a child and free to attack (he did get tased and also bashed with a bat a few times before being dragged to hell)
"I may kill children but at least I respect my son's pronouns"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inspiration: an older friend of mine
Jennifer was always a rebellious child, and an oddity in her mother's eyes
On that note, the two never saw eye to eye on anything, and clashed daily
Resolved to never become like her mother and succeeded
Had a stuffed rabbit named monster truck that she liked to throw at people (namely the new british kid in the neighborhood who looked at her funny)
Was best friends with a kid named Casey Fitzgerald before they went missing
Chopped her hair off at the age of 15 and basically told her mother to suck on a lemon (but with more swearing)
Generally a delightful little child /j
Raised Micheal in a tiny apartment with her then boyfriend before they got the house they raised Louis and Elizabeth in
Saw the situation Elizabeth was in and pretty much just adopted her on the spot (there was some extra hurdles but they got their daughter in the end)
Was the one who actually raised the Afton children due to William being both busy and inattentive for various reasons
Wasn't perfect in raising her kids but was certainly better than her husband
Took dance lessons when she was younger and encouraged her children's creative behaviors
After Elizabeth "ran away" she found out about William's previous... activities and devised a plan to make sure he wouldn't hurt anyone ever again
She told him what she found but mentioned that she was just disappointed in how careless his plan was in terms of the four main animatronics having his face saved in their systems, meaning it wouldn't be long until the police were at their door
When he returned home from destroying Freddy, she insisted it was better to do it all in one night to prevent suspicion, however this almost gave her plan away when he mentioned it was stupidly lethal. She succeeded when he still went back stating that he was smarter than most people
When he never returned home she told Micheal to pack his things and anything else he wanted to take with him, they were moving to another state so they could have a fresh start. She waited til he was a bit older to explain why William never returned home
Encouraged Micheal to get therapy and tried her best to give him a balanced home life. This became easier when Will's brother decided to step in and help and the duo became good friends (what also helped was that he was a teacher at Micheal's new school)
Warned Micheal to be wary about the new job at the pizza world and when Micheal finally rid himself of Ennard she gave him a place to stay while he figured out what to do about his situation
Helped Henry and Micheal set up the fake pizzeria and even wrote up fake lawsuits and ads
Is still alive after all these years out of pure determination to outlive any form of her ex husband
Retrograde AU
Can I summarize this,,,let’s find out. This has been a rough WIP since 2016. Boy has it been a Process.
Before I start let me just state for the record that this is an AU it exists in it’s own universe and ties in aspects of both books and games as well as headcanons that I Know not everybody will agree with! Hope you enjoy it nonetheless!
Warnings before reading: This AU does contain spoilers for the book trilogy, there are some heavy and dark themes mostly involving physical and emotional abuse as well as blood and gore.
This AU is split into 2 parts: pre-scooped and post-scooped. The first is his childhood and early adult life where he is known as Michael Afton leading up to when he got his insides scooped out. The second half is an older adult, when he got a whopping load of amnesia immediately after being scooped and is known as Mike Schmidt.
Pre-scooped:
Michael grew up in the same town Fredbear’s is located in, a few miles out of Hurricane (same place Charlie lived in the books.)
Michael is the older brother from the 4th game’s minigames. The younger brother/ crying child is Cassidy Afton. Cassidy witnessed Charlie’s murder and was absolutely traumatized but no one would believe him. William was really the cause of the bite, needing the kid to keep quiet about the whole thing, but staged it to be an accident to shift the blame on to someone else.
There is 2 seperate bites, Cassidy being the Bite of ‘83 victim. Michael was still the accidental cause of both.
His friend group consisted of the bullies from the 4th game--Bear mask kid is Michelle/Mitchie, bunny mask kid is David/Davie, chicken mask kid is Christopher/Chris. Some basics about them:
Mitchie is a girl, though a total tomboy, and is strong enough that the others know not to mess with her. She has a superiority complex, always feeling like she Has to prove she’s the best. She has a younger brother.
Davie is the bigger kid and designated meat shield of the group. He doesn’t put himself in bad situations but the group tends to throw him into them anyway.
Chris is a bit of a runt but like to run his mouth a lot. He’s the type to always feel the need to put his two cents in even if it adds nothing to the conversation and is mostly just him being a sassy smartass.
Michael is of course the kid always picking fights. He’ll throw the first punch at the drop of a hat and almost always sports a bruise or a cut somewhere on his face. Some have even turned into scars.
When he was especially younger, Michael got along really well with his dad, drawing up doodles of characters that would eventually become the Funtimes, and always claiming he wanted to be just like him. William would often bring him into the workshop and teach him the basics of how animatronics work, carefully avoiding the subject of springlocks altogether. Obviously as he grew older, he realized his dad was a major ass and grew distant and hateful of him, taking his anger out on those around him rather than actually deal with the problems.
Michael built his fox mask himself and included a few added feature such as moving/turning ears and fancy lights. His friends demanded he make them some as well to which he happily obliged.
The Afton and Emily families were good friends! This was before, you know, William decided to remove Charlie’s alive rights. There were nights where all the parents would go out and Michael would get stuck with babysitting all of them at once and chaos ensued. Charlie, Sammy, and Elizabeth were the same age but Elizabeth was a bit of a brat so she didn’t get along very well with them. Charlie and Cassidy, despite age difference were good friends. Charlie and Sammy were a tag team and rarely did you ever see the two of them apart from the other.
After the accident and Cassidy’s death, everyone turned away from Michael except Elizabeth, who Michael swore he would be a better brother for. He continued developing his robotics skills by building her little toys just like Henry did for Charlie. Though unlike Henry’s, the toys were in no way technologically advanced and the most impressive thing he could do was add a wind up music box in them.
William finds old drawing of Michael’s and uses them as inspiration for the Funtime Animatronics which of course eventually lead to the accident with Elizabeth.
After so many years it finally comes together that Michael realizes his dad is actually a psycho murderer. He runs away, trying to figure out ways to set the spirits free. As he travels, continually changing his name, he does eventually find Henry and enlists his help. He is ultimately unsuccessful as he follow the trail into Circus Baby’s and is eventually scooped.
Jeremy Fitzgerald also has a minimal part in this AU. He and Michael met in early adulthood, he eventually tries to help Michael in his task to help set the children free. They go to what is the fnaf 2 location in an attempt to put them all back together but something goes terribly wrong and Jeremy is the unfortunate victim of the bite of ‘87 and loses his frontal lobe in the process. He is the same Jeremy from the VR games.
It is William and his manipulative tactics that convince Michael to go into the underground in the first place, knowing that his sister will be there. With the promise that he can find her and the others and put them all back together.
Post-scooped:
Immediately after the events of the underground, he’s visited by Cassidy’s ghost who warns him he’s going to forget and tells him to “come find him when he remembers.” He wakes up in Hurricane with barely any memories. He’s told his name is Mike Schmidt, as stated by records found mostly in his car. Clay Burke takes him under his wing and helps get him back on his feet, basically becoming like a father figure to him. It’s through this interaction that Mike meets Carlton and becomes part of that whole group.
While the main events of the books did not happen, the friend group is still there and there are certain elements that remain the same. The group is obvi older than they were in the original canon source.
Henry still moved to Hurricane and built the four closets but instead of offing himself, he saw them to completion, dropped them on Aunt Jen, then disappeared without a trace. So it is still the same that Charlie “moved away” and the group stayed connected through letters they sent back and forth (Though mostly it had been Aunt Jen writing them.)
Instead of Charlie coming back for the funeral type celebration like in The Silver Eyes, she went back specifically to reconnect with friends to see them graduate. As they got older, letters turned to email and live chat rooms. Charlie still went with Jessica to college and the two continue to live together. Charlie has a degree in robotics and programming, Jessica has a degree in anthropology. Charlie and John maintain a long distance relationship as he lives and works out of state. Carlton also left town for college, got his degree in performing arts and moved back to Hurricane. Marla is happily married but still keeps up communication with the others and visits occasionally.
There is a separation between alive robot Charlie and dead child Charlotte, since The Puppet is still a present figure. Charlie is content with the fact that she is actually a robot, having discovered that years ago. John is the only other one who knows.
Mike and Carlton have a thing going on.
Mike works at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza as is shown game 1. He works there not only out of desperation but because he feels a connection to the building and wants desperately to know about his past.
He found Springtrap in the back saferoom and since then, the rabbit does not leave him alone. He acts as Mike’s helper buddy, assisting in keep the animatronics away for the most part. He is completely silent though if you were to listen really really close you might hear motors running, a fan or two kicking on, and raspy breathing.
Helpy is another helper to Mike but is more of a portable buddy rather than a work only buddy. He found the little bear as barely more than scraps in a trash heap, took him home and enlisted Charlie’s help in building him into the lovable little pink and white robot.
Most dreams/nightmares Mike has have to do with reliving past memories though generally he doesn’t remember what they were about once he’s awake. When he’s at the pizzeria he sometimes sees the spirits of the children who help lead him to clues about his missing memories. What would seem like hallucinations to most people, are actually clues from the spirits. But Springtrap tends to chase off any that appear when he is also there.
Will hopefully post designs of the characters soon! And I’m in the process of writing an actual coherent story for this.
