Mike Fiers threw two pitches in the at bat vs. CJ Cron: a fastball up well above the zone — in a location well worn by opposing pitchers due to Cron’s propensity to swing through the pitch — and a 95 mph thigh-high, center cut fastball in Cron’s “juice zone” (to borrow a phrase from BA) which was deposited 430 feet into the left-field seats. Fiona enters the Loft, her heart sinking at the torched place, a place she once called home.. Their home. Where her snow globes would rest neatly, her head would rest gently.. Now, it was nothing. Even if she wasn't with Michael now, it still hurt to stand there, to be there. Her stomach slightly rolling at the thoughts that clouded her mind, causing her to completely ignore Michael’s existence right before her, trying to gather her attention….

"Fi?"

Michael softly let out, his eyebrows raised slightly; a hint of concern painted his face.  Michael stepped closer, to ensure she was alright. Her blank and emotionless stare at him only proved something wasn't quite right - something was unsettling her…

She forces a smile, a slight curve of her lips, her eyes quickly looking up at Michael, before looking to the side again…To look away from him.

"It’s nothing like it use to be…."

Fiona shrugged, letting out a long sigh - a sigh of sadness left her lips. Even though, she tried to cover her sorrow, it didn't work. Michael nodded softly, his eyes still narrowing on her…

"Nothing is like what it use to be, Fiona…. that’s your choice"

Detecting resentment and anger in Michael’s tone; Fiona narrowed her eyebrows and hissed, her shoulders up and her cheeks flared…

"That’s your fault Michael, all of it is!"

Fiona shouted and stepped back, creating space between them, her hands in fists….

"Fi…."

Michael attempted to ease Fiona, but he was as expected, cut off -

"No Michael! Don’t you dare try and defend yourself, it’s all about you, it was never about us, about your family!"

Fiona screamed at this point, her neck red, fuming of rage; She was holding onto this anger for too long, and it felt good to let it out to the person responsible for it all…

"Fi…"

Michael stepped forwards, his hands rests gently on her shoulders - stroking them, causing her to drop them and un-tense her figure; she looked up, the anger still burning within, but the more she stared into his blue eyes, the more the anger subsided and settled, with him right there before her…

Michael leaned in and rests his forehead against hers, letting Fiona calm down and close her eyes. Their breathing in sync, as they stood in silence…As Fiona closed her eyes, Michael leaned in and kissed both her eyelids gently, a soft smile crossed his lips.

"I’ll always fight for you, Fi"
