One thing Rise of the tmnt does right is that it shows how important role models are for children.
With the brothers we obviously see this main role model being Lou Jitsu. They idolize him, copy his mannerisms and fighting style. Heck, they even say it in the show that one of the main motivations for the brothers to become heros in the first place was so that they could be like Lou Jitsu.
In the cases of the missing sisters this would have played out similarly only with Big Mama and Draxum as the role models. We would have Frida/ Big Mama‘s assistant be like „I‘m doing this because my mother told me to and I want her to be proud of me. No matter what, Big Mama could never be wrong.“ and the cooky sister raised with season-one-Draxum‘s beliefs „I‘m doing this because this is what he said is my duty. This is my purpose, what I was raised for. I am saving my people from humanity.“
All in all it shows how important it is to have good role models in your life because while a good role model can help you grow a bad one can lead you on a path of self-destruction.

Don't know what I was expecting for the key visual but it wasn't Takemichi gripping Mikey's hair with his yaoi hand

Yelling
A small Mikey rant
They were yelling again.
Mikey didn't even know what it was about this time. He just knew that Raph was mad and Leo was mad and no one was stepping in to pry them apart.
Mikey used to.
He used to step in and diffuse the situation. And if that wasn't enough, he'd start to cry. That used to do something.
Because when he cried, his brothers would stop their fighting and calm him down. Then they'd sheepishly realize things had gotten out of hand and apologize.
But that was a long time ago.
Leo and Raph didn't seem to care about Mikey's tears anymore.
They screamed over his sobbing. They shouted over his pleading. Raph's eyes, sparking with red, didn't see Mikey's eyes sparkling with tears. Leo's twisted mouth spouted harsh words that squeezed Mikey's heart.
"--NOT WHAT I SAID, LEO!"
Mikey whimpered, curling into himself. His brand new subway car room was nowhere near thick enough to block out the sound. Did they have to argue in the most open part of the Lair?
Did they have to argue at all?
They shouldn't be yelling like this. It was stupid. It was always stupid. And they didn't seem to see just how stupid it was.
Mikey could.
Mikey could always see both sides of the argument.
Mikey could see that Raph was just frustrated but still cared for Leo SO MUCH. Mikey could see that Leo wanted independence and didn't UNDERSTAND that Raph was just trying to keep everyone safe. Mikey could see that they were both too stubborn to compromise.
Mikey could see their family tearing apart at the seams.
Mikey could see everything.
And if anyone saw the same things he did, they didn't seem to care.
They were yelling again.
And Mikey couldn't stop them.
They were yelling again.
And it was getting louder.
They were yelling again.

It just occurred to me that when we would get the cooky sister raised by Draxum, she would most likely hold similar beliefs to season-one-Draxum, since she was raised by him LONG BEFORE his redemption arc and then trapped alone in another dimension for years. She had no one to teach her better and no other world view she could compare with other than the one that was ingrained into her mind by a man set on genocide.
I mean who’s to say that she wouldn’t try to overthrow humanity when she got out of her prison dimension.
And who’s to say that she would be happy to see Draxum again. For all she knows he could have just given up on her and started over. Would she see Draxum as a traitor to his own beliefs for switching sides or someone brainwashed by the enemy?

I had this tmnt 2k3 drabble, feel free to use/make it a a full fic but credit me.
So I hc Leo like raisin cookies. The bros + April and Casey hang at (Y/N)'s apartment one day. They made cookies for them. From the kitchen (Y/N) otw to the living room with another plate of cookies. Mikey tryna grab em. (Y/N) immediately pulled away before he could reach.
"No, this one's for Leo!"
"Oooo for Leo~" He said coyly. "What's so special 'bout it (N/N)?"
"These are raisin cookies." They all paused and looked at Leo while he just 🧍. "Raisin?" Raph cringed. (Y/N) ignored everyone's looks, "Yea, he requested me to bake these. So I did." as they passed the plate to Leo who happily digged in.
Some couldn't hold their disgusted reactions. (Y/N) rolled their eyes. "Oh, grow up guys. In my defense I wouldn't prefer it but it's not even that bad." "So you're sayin' to you Leo is a raisin cookie based on your type and stuff?" Raph teased, raising an eyebrow.
(Y/N) pulled the blink white guy meme as others cracked while Leo choked to death. Ty for coming to my ted talk.
