Do you have any tips on anatomy ? Really struggling with it

Mikeymegamega has some really good tutorials, other than that You can learn some basic body structure and do photo/ art studies. There are no magical methods for this tbh, just practice. And I'm also struggling with it tbh -_-

You said you only started drawing 3 years ago (that’s pretty mad for how good you are!) - do you mean in general or that you didn’t start drawing consistently until 3 years ago? How’d you advance in anatomy/poses so quickly?

This is long but I’ll do a tldr at the bottom…

I drew (pencil and paper) for a couple of weeks in 2016. Didn’t draw before that, didn’t do any drawing again until late 2019, which is also when I got consistent + went digital.

I drew for 5+ hours a day, almost every day, for the first year. I did the same for the second but I actually took more days off.

But I didn’t start doing more half and full bodies until about late 2021 or 2022 I think (because anatomy is scary and hard haha).

The best thing to do is study muscles, to be honest. Buuuuut I didn’t do that (I should).

I just did a lot of studies, a lot of figure drawings. I watched videos by Ethan Becker and Mikeymegamega (nsfw) on anatomy. I forced myself to draw full bodies (pinups) every day since January of this year, which just forced me to slowly get better. I did style studies of artists I admired as well.

tldr: I practiced drawing real people for awhile. Practiced stylization of anatomy after. I did studies of pieces by artwork I admired/are better than me. Essentially you just gotta study real people, and practice. You get better over time.

Who inspired your art style if i may ask?^^

Nobody lol, what I do is look at what other people do with their art and then look at mine,seeing if I can add or either improve my style

I'm not good with drawing hands or fingers so there is that

I do recommend mikeymegamega on YouTube, he is AMAZING if you want to learn female anatomy or male anatomy

I’m rn working on a female Azusa doodle but it’s only a female base as of now so I won’t show the full base, I’m trying to get ppl on discord to dm me outfits 😭

I said it before, but again, if ANYONE wants art requests, PLEASE don’t hesitate to ask me, I’ll try my best to get it done for you and it can be DL related or not, I don’t have a lot of my art on here so it would be helpful to get that going and flowing ❤️

Previously on my drawing adventures. I practiced drawing more expressive, well, expressions after watching a tutorial from Mikeymegamega. Honestly, iv been learning how to draw better a lot from him and two other popular artists online. I'll link that video below if anyone wants to take a look.

The last one is the only one I particularly don't care for. Mostly because I realized recently I have a thing for drawing big eyes and the head doesn't compensate for that. I was just done looking at it, so I move on after that.

Another MikeyMegaMega tutorial. Even when my own skill level is starting to move past that of what he’s currently teaching, I learn something new every time - usually about anatomy. I’m an engineer, not a doctor, so I only have a vague idea of why things are shaped the way they are. 

I was debating on posting this or not, since being one of the more simple drawing tutorials I’ve followed, it doesn’t feel like it shows much, but I feel as if I have enough here to learn from some of my mistakes that there’s no harm done.
