Milgram Prisioner Covers Prediction List

So. I've been listening to some of DECO's older songs these past few days, some of which I hadn't heard before, and I wanted to try and take a shot on future Milgram Covers! (this list will be so wrong i'll be ashamed of this 2 yrs from now) (Also like. Don't think this had a 10 month research period. I'm not a professional lyricist or literary analyst guy or anything. I literally did this during the weekend while procrastinating for uni assignments.) There is a TLDR at the end for the lazy kings (you guys are so real for that tbh)

01 - Undead Alice

I don't really have a reason for it, I really just feel like it makes a good fit. Yeah, the lyrics are about a toxic relationship, but the way the song is written reminds me a lot about Haruka and his negative view about himself (which may become worse after a Guilty vote).

02 - Rabbit Hole

This song is fits so well with Yuno. It really feels like it's mocking love and romance, especially the superficial ones where it's all just "corny" and "cliché", which is really in-line with Yuno's character. Also it would be so good. Just imagine Rabbit Hole with the Vampire cover's yoinky sploinky cartoony sounds.

03 - 118

This one I'm not that certain of, I guess it fits with Futa becoming more aware and remorseful of what he did and ending up spiting who he associated with. Also, I really think it would fit his songs' style of a more rock-punk vibe. Futa's covers are actually kind of hard to predict to be honest, even today I woudn't think about him covering Mozaik Role, but here we are.

04 - Ghost Rule

I'm pretty sure Ghost Rule will be covered by one of the prisioners, since it's kind of a Vocaloid classic (and also really good it will be such a win for Muu-stans if this becomes real). I felt like it goes well with Muu's character, with her acting superior and snobby in school and later becoming a bullying victim, a "ghost", as a consequence. If she covers this, then maybe in T3 she regrets what she did and how she acted?

05 - Cosmic Rendesvouz

Yeah this one came out a few days ago, and is what inspired me to make this list. It's just. Made for Shidou. The mourning? The wanting to reunite with his wife on the after-life? THE HOLOGRAPHIC GHOST-MEMORY-THINGS? So Shidou-core. I know a lot of people pointed this out, but some scenes felt so much like Triage. Anyways, this song screams "I'm Shidou and I'm very sad" in the best way possible. Next.

06 - Zombies

This one is less like a guess and more like a PLEASE I NEED THIS SO BAD. This fits SO WELL with the toxic girlfriend and abusive relationship. Her wanting to be with the lover forever, leading to him passing away, fits so well. Also, Okasaki Miho would simply SLAY SO MUCH.

07 - We The Hostages

Kazui is difficult. A lot of DECO's songs are about bad/distasteful relationships, so I felt like there were a lot of options. I chose this one mostly because the lyrics can be interpreted as a person who doesn't love their partner anymore, and wants to let it all go, as the relationship was bad for both. Also the wife is gone apparently.

08 - Winter Cleaning(????)

Amane is actually the main boss of this prediction list because like. She will cover ANIMAL. I still think it'll be good, actually so happy for the Amane-stans out there, but it was just. One of the most jaw-dropping cover choices from the entire project for me. ANYTHING is possible from now on. I guess Winter Cleaning makes sense if she goes to therapy and recovers from Her Current Behaviour™, as in like, cleaning her mindspace and taking out the bad memories and such, but this is really a shot in the dark.

09 - (Not) A Devil

Another one that's more of a wish than a prediction (and also kind of fanservice-y?). The lyrics are like an angel and a devil on an argument, so it would be cool if we had both Ore-Mikoto and Boku-Mikoto singing as the angel and the devil. Also the song kind of fits his heavy-metal song style.

09 - Theory of Negativity

Aha, two songs for Mikoto! That's because his T2 cover was not revealed yet! Anyway, it's a song about breakups I think (as are a lot of them actually), but the lyrics talk about hating the partner, wanting to change one's self, a lot of self-doubt, and it kind of fits with Mikoto's struggles on having DID.

10 - Reversible Campaing

This is one I'm really hoping for. The style of the song fits her themes and styles so much. I don't think the lyrics fit 100% for her, as they are about (guess it) a toxic relationship (!?!), but so was Anti-Beat and that cover was great so who cares.

10 - Dilemma

Kotoko will also have two predictions! This one is more on the aesthetics of the song and the MV, and also because it can kind of being interpreted as her saying how much justice she did ("Don't play arround, how much I've done for you, you probably don't even want to know").

HONORABLE MENTIONS

-I could very easily switch Reversible Campaign and 118, these songs are good for both Futa and Kotoko -I also thought about Cinderella for Muu, but it came as a song about being insecure, while currently Muu is like. The opposite. -Love Doll would also fit with Mahiru, and her wanting to spend every second with her partner -I was so close to chosing A Bird's Song for Kazui, but We The Hostages made more sense. -Addiction can fit with Mikoto because of the beat, but the lyrics didn't make that much sense in character. -Also I can kind of see Pseudo-Hope Syndrome fitting well for Mikoto

Just a warning about Leaks

I have spoke out against things that aren't leaks being called leaks but this time an actual leak occurred

Some non-static art of Haruka, Shidou and Mahiru was distributed around yesterday in part due to confusion caused by the site crash when it first went live (meaning people were dependent on sharing spites and voice lines around)

I don't care about leaks on a moral level, but out of fun of the game I strongly suggest everyone immediately cease sharing these images, openly posting discussions/theories/fanart about them and just overall pretending we haven't seen them until they officially release

Time to place my Trial 3 Milgram predictions before we get any kind of hint or info. I’m going to keep count and see how many I have versus how many I got right :)

Trigger warnings: discussion of suicide, homicide, and bodily harm (canon typical levels)

Most likely to die (male): Haruka

Giving this a 40-60% chance of occurring

He is determined to follow through with his promise to kill himself for Muu’s sake, and the timeline implies that he’s been refusing food for a while now

But starving to death takes a while, and I do think Muu is going to try to intervene

Muu may be a bitch and absolutely, criminally ill-equipped to counsel Haruka into choosing life, but I think she would try to intervene because Haruka is her friend (even if her definition of friendship is screwed up), and at minimum, she would not want to lose her one and only yes man

Then again, she might give up easily, especially since Haruka is adamant about doing this, and use his death to fuel a sense of righteousness that we saw with Fuuta in his voice dramas (the “who gave you the right” attitude)

Most likely to die (female): Muu

60% chance

My friend may want her dead but I agree that she’s right about Muu’s murder being mostly solved (no reason to continue the story since we know the victim and how) and she sucks at not making enemies

Yuno has the same issue of we know what she did and how she feels about it, but again, Yuno has two Innocent verdicts, making it unlikely for Kotoko to attack her, while Muu has a Guilty verdict this round and seems to have aggravated her in a recent timeline convo

I think Haruka would be the one to kill Muu, not Kotoko

Either she stops him from killing himself a faster way and in a rage, he lashes out and kills her (most likely by accident), or he decides a murder-suicide would be best so he can have his “mom” in the afterlife with him

Most likely to join Amane’s following: Mahiru

5-15% chance, unlikely but would be fun

Fuuta gets her with the, “Who gave Es and Milgram the right to judge us and punish us?”

Muu is my second choice, but only if Haruka dies and she’s going to be jumping on Fuuta’s bandwagon

Most likely to get jumped: Kotoko

I think Shidou is gonna do it to secure a Guilty verdict for himself third round

The only reason he stopped craving death was because he felt useful for trials 2 and 3

He’s heard Es say, “Well, in a medical context, those deaths and organ transplants are forgivable,” and Es’s shock and contempt over Kotoko’s actions in his Trial 2 voice drama spells out they don’t like unnecessary violence. And not only is Kotoko is an acceptable target/sacrifice because the other 9 prisoners at minimum don’t like her, she’s also restrained and presumably cannot defend herself as well if at all, making attacking her more despicable

The only way to get that Guilty verdict is to unnecessarily kill someone else, and he might think he has a shot with Kotoko being under restraints

Extract that fang and tilt the scales, you bitch ass doctor, I double dog dare you

I don’t think Kotoko is going to pick another fight with Mikoto since she’ll be restrained and John doesn’t have any working restraints because Milgram doesn’t recognize him as a murderer

She’ll be upset and on the back foot but I don’t think she will enter the between trial period and immediately start jumping people. Probably will plan a few though

Most likely to jump someone: Shidou

I will honestly be surprised if she is attacked by a fellow prisoner, and I don’t think she’s a danger to herself

I actually have a side theory that if the trial 1 quotes are after the reality of killing someone has sunk in and trial 2 is the point of no return (that made the murder unavoidable), then trial 3 will be their unfiltered initial thought as they did it, so it’s probably going to be pretty damning for quite a few of them.

Es

I’m hoping for that rescue escape song to close us out once the Kotoko’s trial was done

Book ends. Es started the series so they will most likely close it for thematic effect

Haruka

Remember all that slicing and jump cuts and sudden melting from the second round? I’m willing to bet that the the crayon scribbles and shadows return to up the shock factor/disorientation of the viewers

Motifs: something with water since it’s been in the last two videos, and then I’m hoping fireworks and crayon art return

Staticky quote: if I’m right that he killed his younger sister out of jealousy, I’m going to say it will probably be blaming the sister for her murder

Yuno

Most likely going to up the graphic factor and show more inner turmoil compared to the first two

By inner turmoil, I mean more like her assertion that she is an adult and her probably wanting to keep the baby since she seems to regret the abortion, not “oh no, sex work bad,” since she states that she chose this because she liked the sex

Yuno spent the first trial trying to be the ideal girl, then rejected the image we gave her in the second, so the third is probably going to grapple with her craving acceptance for her identity but struggling to carve out an acceptable but still authentic identity

Motifs: masks, like the kind you wear to masquerades or a theatre play kind of mask because of the whole identity thing, maybe costumes like the kind you expect to wear in a school play

Static quote: probably some form of self-encouragement to keep going through with the abortion

Fuuta

He went from being a shining knight in a video game to a spray-painting soccer hooligan, so I’m curious if he’s going to be a church-going good boy this round

Like I can kind of see him preaching from a lectern that we’re just like him now, especially if Haruka dies, but I’m also curious as to if they built up enough to strip Fuuta down to his basics, a lonely young man who irreversibly hurt Killcheroy

Motifs: more fire, if we get church Fuuta, I’d expect lots of fire, but if it’s bare bones and no fancy personas to hide behind, then I’d expect minimal fire

I’d actually be curious if they snuff Fuuta’s fire out completely this round since it was his symbol for overzealous quest for justice turning into an out of control witch hunt and now he’s like gotta save em all by warning them to put out their fires before they go out of control

Static quote: either a shocked denial of the reality of the situation or something really bad to justify his killing of Killercheroy as not as bad as it is. No in-between

Muu

Honestly, not sure but probably a lot of text messages between her old friends and her juxtaposed with their bullying of her and Muu and them bullying Rei and other classmates

Motifs: something to represent the “sorry” spells

Staticky quote: something involving a demand for Rei to just listen to what Muu is saying (accept the apology she gave)

Shidou

I care the least for him because he’s kind of boring

I’ve heard too many “this doctor was an absolute asshole” stories that I’ve been desensitized. If he’s actually going to attack Kotoko in the name of the greater good, I might start caring about what he does again

Imagery: his happy family versus his patients’ grieving families and then him going to the hospital after his wife and children get in that car wreck

Staticky quote: something about taking someone off of life support, unclear if it’s his wife/child or his patient but most likely his family member since empathy is his jumping off point to me

Mahiru

We had a fairly open end first video, a circular theme second with an abrupt cut, so I think the third is going to be the most linear of the stories

Or maybe she’ll throw a curveball and assert that it was love and zigzag again

Motifs and imagery: not sure, praying for an open ended book telling, but not expecting it tbh

Staticky quote: “I love you, [Name].”

Kazui

He and Amane are all about performances, so we went from watching a musical to being a magician performing tricks so I’m guessing he may actually strip off the proverbial mask and it’s a backstage view of what the weight of his lies were like

Motifs: the apples return again, alcohol and cigarettes along the lines of ashtrays and empty glasses, and I feel like something like a dressing room or maybe a green room

Staticky quote: I’m thinking probably either him telling Hinako he doesn’t love her or screaming for her not to jump

Amane

Children’s show to scary marching band to something that’ll top them both

I love Amane. I don’t talk about her but I do love her. Get your mom’s ass. There’s not a court of law that would actually put you in jail for it

Imagery: she might use more church imagery than before (like with the TV mascots), but more likely, it’s going to be another performance. A choir number?

Static quote: I think it’s going to reference what she sang about at the end of Purge March (remember MY sorry?). That or calling out the hypocrisy of her cat killing mother

Mikoto

Tarot cards to mannequins. Hmm, I want to say moon and star imagery but they kind of hit that more with Haruka (moon in Weekness) and Kotoko (stars in Undercover)

Maybe some good old film noir esque feels this time

I still swear that Mikoto did it and John is helping to cover it up

Staticky quote: calling his victim a liar (you can rip the victim tried to blackmail him theory from my cold, dead hands)

Kotoko

I know you killed Lucky, but I’m pretty sure it was an accident that you managed to rationalize away

Every other character, even Mikoto/John in Double, has expressed some sign of regret for their killing, and the only time you wavered was with Lucky. What happened to Lucky, Kotoko? The only detractor I have is the “feels so good” static line which would most likely be what she said after beating the pedophile to death

Anyway, Kotoko is going to be so, so mad when it’s her turn

We went from Innocent to Guilty. She is going to want us to pay for that betrayal

Motif: court imagery from the law student, she was a vigilante, then a warden, let her prosecute/defend in the court of law

Static quote: something short and curt like “Enough!” She firmly believes the victim had it coming (which again detracts from she killed Lucky theory but whatever)

Milgram Trial 3 Cover Predictions Survey

I have a soft spot for Milgram’s Deco*27 covers and how they reveal and reinforce characters’ feelings, so I wanted to gauge which songs are expected to be covered in Trial 3. I definitely have some ideas of my own, which I’d like to expand upon at a later time 😄

Things I expect to see/want to see in the third trial MVs (lmk if we already know any of these)

Haruka- Literally everything. We need After Pain levels of concrete evidence. We don’t know who the victim even is!! Like both of his MVs are all just vibes and breadcrumbs!

Yuno- Ngl I think she’s good overall, like we know most of the stuff we need to. Maybe we could see why she decided to become a sugar baby, or I saw a theory she threw herself down some stairs as a DIY abortion, so smth like that.

Fuuta- I want to see what the girl did that Fuuta felt he needed to bring justice to. Not that it’d change my verdict, I’m just curious. I also saw a theory that someone was impersonating Fuuta and like doxxed the girl and stuff, so maybe we’ll see that.

Muu- I really want to see what Rei’s deal is. Like I feel like her and Muu’s relationship is a lot deeper than it first seems. Also I expect to see why Muu’s friends switched up on her, cuz I feel like that’s one of the main mysteries with her. (

Shidou- I kinda just want confirmation on whether or not he actually stole organs, cuz like people keep saying it’s confirmed but it’s not 100%. Also what happened to his kids? Why do we see them in Triage and not Throw Down? Are they dead? Also were his wife and kids in a car crash, and that’s what the call in Triage was? I feel like Shidou’s MV are like Haruka’s where they say a lot but also nothing at all

Mahiru- I feel like Mahiru’s story is pretty wrapped up nicely, like Yuno’s. I think maybe we’ll see her boyfriend be confirmed as codependent too, since I’m like 99% sure he was.

Kazui- I honestly just want to see him confirmed as gay. Like we all know he is, but I want to hear the words “I’m gay” come out of Kazui’s mouth. Other than that, I expect to see some more backstory with Hinako (the wife).

Amane- I expect to see more around Amane’s murder , because we assume it’s her mom but it could be someone else. Also we don’t know how she did it, like we see her in her marching get up with a bloody staff, but I doubt she was actually dressed like that irl.

Mikoto- Mikoto’s kinda boring imo, so i want to see how Mikoto was the one who killed that man and John is covering for him. I don’t expect this to happen, but it’d be a unique twist. I expect to see the circumstances surrounding the death, but idk what that’d be.

Kotoko- ok her new MV just came out so I’m kinda don’t know what to expect, but maybe like see what happened to that girl (Lucky I think?). Someone on here said smth like “What if Lucky died and that’s Kotoko’s crime for being in Milgram because she focused too much on punishing perpetrators and not protecting victims”. So yeah.

john loves to hug mikoto from behind.. just swoop bear hug and buries his face in his shoulder and just appreciating the silence and scent

mikoto then plays with john’s hair, combing hand thru it gently etc… this is also his timing to drop dead quite literally because THEY GON BE IN THAT POSITION FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR. Its nice.

john is invested in silly things like fidgets, slime, squishies etc and mikoto buys all sorts of those for him!! imagine his eyes going sparkle sparkle../j (i may draw that oh dear lord/pos)

mikoto may or may not have microwaved an egg by accident and got lectured by john (about sleeping because obviously mikoto wpuldnt do such shit if hes wide awake) after they both had a fright from the explosion…

john carries out intimate acts first, then mikoto usually does the rest after the motivation boost (either a kiss or hug or hand holding or whatever..)

mikoto loves cats. john hates them for the purpose of his well deserved attention but his lover being directed to them. he will admit that theyre really cute tho…

john has almost made an attempt to assassinate (did i spell it rigjt..?) mikoto’s boss multiple times. all failed because mikoto eventually found out right when he ews about to carry out the plan.

I saw someone mention the marching baton becoming/mirroring the murder weapon, and I really hope this is the moment the switch is made -- after Amane is shown being clumsy for most of the mv, something changes and she suddenly spins it expertly and calmly...

A sprinkle of predictions based on the teaser trailer for Milgram’s Third Trial to add to my last post.

So far, it looks like I was wrong about Muu dying. I have more under the cut, since I made that first batch of predictions before Undercover (Your) Curtain Call came out, so everything was fair game.

I’m still firmly in the camp of Shidou tried to kill Kotoko during the break. Amane’s actions during her second voice drama showed that a prisoner could still move to attack even with one round of restraints. We still don’t know the level of restraints Haruka, Muu, and Kotoko received after their Trial 2 Guilty verdicts, but it was probably the same level of physical restraints that the Trial 1 Guilty crew received. I don’t think Milgram would double up their restraints for getting Innocent the first trial and then Guilty during the second trial. Neither Fuuta nor Mahiru are physically strong, and Kotoko is trained in martial arts and has the advantage of getting the first and next moves on her victims. Shidou probably assumed that the level of restraints were more restrictive and would make killing her easier. So, he takes on Kotoko to, “extract the fang,” and by that, I mean kill her. I still think he would have been driven by the motive to not only prevent other prisoners from getting hurt but also to get Es to vote him Guilty and give him the death penalty that he kept wishing for back in the first trial. Kotoko killed him in self-defense, despite her physical and mental restraints.

But then, I had a second hellish thought for this hellish third trial. What if Amane accidentally killed Mahiru while trying to punish Shidou? I’m not sure how mobile she is, but what if she took the hit meant for Shidou, and it shook Amane to her core. She talks about warning someone (“he” or “them” depending on the two translations I’ve seen), and that has to be Shidou. He is the only person she has a problem with. Her third trial teaser lines strike me as odd, because she normally asserts her autonomy and beliefs when challenged, and in those lines, she appears to be blaming Es and asking him why he didn’t do anything to stop Shidou. The only things she has ever asked of Es is to treat her like an adult and to understand her religion’s values. Now, she seems to be blaming Es for not having stopped Shidou, which only means two things. One, she killed Shidou or otherwise had a role in his death that she regrets, or two, she tried to punish Shidou, but Mahiru was hurt instead. Mahiru wasn’t supposed to get hurt or die, and the guilt is crushing Amane. Her faith is wavering, and that’s why Fuuta talks as if he has the weight of the world on his shoulders in the teaser video.

Hokey, but eh, I’m on that copium. A-grade, baby.

As for the others, I think Yuno is talking about Mahiru when she says, “We spent too much time together.” Fuuta could have tried to kill Shidou, but I don’t think he has the guts, strength, or luck to have done it. Kazui is talking about his role in Hinako’s death and possibly if Hinako’s death could have been avoided. I call bullshit on John being gone for good. He is still there, just not as much. And Kotoko is going to try to manipulate Es by opening up about herself, possibly answering who was the girl in pink and the grandma we saw back in Harrow.
