maybe controversial but whenever someone tells me they dislike beer I automatically assume they’re from the US. I’m sure gross beer exists in other countries too though

The 2023 Guide to Beer at Citi Field
Tumblr media
While the Mets are in the midst of an utterly miserable early-season slide, the situation on the field leaves about as much to be desired as the beer situation at Citi Field. While for the past several years, there were dedicated kiosks to local craft beer at the stadium, the beer selection has devolved to be a mile wide and an inch deep — more availability across the stadium, but far fewer selections, and even fewer local ones.
Citi Field’s beer selection is largely dominated by Mets major sponsor MillerCoors, with the macro beers, Blue Moon original and Moon Haze, and the Vizzy and Topo Chico-branded seltzers all regularly available throughout the stadium. Boston Beer has a dominant presence this year, with both Dogfish Head (60 Minute IPA and SeaQuench) and Coney Island (Merman IPA, Mermaid Pilsner, and Beach Beer) widely available, but seemingly the only Sam Adams-branded product on offer is their N/A IPA, Just the Haze. Montauk Brewing, which got a big boost when they were acquired by cannabis company Tilray last year, is widely available, offering the Wave Chaser IPA and Summer Ale. Brooklyn Brewery, which has been available in fits and starts at Citi Field since its inception, has Lager, Summer Ale, Pulp Art IPA, and Pilsner this season — though the Pilsner was a hard find, spotted only on draft at Pig Beach behind section 135. Sloop Juice Bomb is one of the few returning craft beers this year, and there’s one new entrant: Glen Cove-based Garvies Point Brewing, who’s got cans of their Crescent Kolsch.
The big reason for the dearth of indie craft options this year: 16-ounce cans are gone from the stadium. It appears that Aramark, Citi Field’s concessionaire, required that any local or craft beer be sold in a 19.2-ounce can. Putting aside that 19.2 ounces is more IPA than I really want to drink, it’s an unreasonable ask for small breweries that would not typically have both the supply of cans and capability to can in that format. In past years, the Empire State Craft stands would exclusively offer 16-ounce cans at a fixed price point. And despite the average length of games being notably shorter this year, the beers are now sold to last longer (and, on hot days, probably get warm before you can finish them).
As far as pricing goes, not too much has changed. While the $14.25 16-ounce craft cans are gone, the handful of 19.2-ounce cans last season from Dogfish Head and Brooklyn were priced at $15.25 — the same price as this year. 24-ounce macro beers are still $15.50, and 24-ounce cans of Blue Moon and Leinenkugel Summer Shandy will continue to set you back $16.50.
Anyway, if you’re looking for the best beer selection on each level, here’s a quick and easy guide:
Field Level: Montauk Brewing stand behind section 128
Excelsior Level: the beer stand behind sections 301/302 on the Coca-Cola Porch
Promenade Level: the beer stand behind section 418 (where the Empire State Craft stand was in past seasons)
One notable omission from the beer list this year: EBBS Brewing Co., beer that’s quite literally brewed under Citi Field’s right field stands. Of course, you can still have their more reasonably-priced beers before and after the game at their taproom.

ERP Implementations and Failures-Case Studies
ERP implementations are often two to 10 times bigger than previous projects. Second, they are transformational, which means there are winners and losers in the organization as a result of the digital transformation enabled by the implementation. Third, they are generational, which means an organization might not have done anything comparable in 10 to 15 years.
Here are a few examples of actual cases and their takeaways.
1-Waste Management's failure to verify vendor claims
Waste Management ran into some major snags when it attempted a massive SAP installation in 2005. After numerous problems and delays, the company ended up in a $500 million lawsuit against SAP that was eventually settled out of court. SAP had suggested Waste Management could achieve $106 million to $220 million in annual benefits from a consolidated ERP system that could be implemented in 18 months. One big problem was Waste Management's failure to verify SAP's claims before making an executive decision. The company quickly discovered there were significant gaps between what was promised and what was delivered in the software.
The Takeaway-Verify vendor claims with internal business and technical teams. Performing a proof of concept on critical functionality can reduce significant risk.
2-Nike's unrealistic goals
Nike thought it could Just Do It when it embarked on a $400 million  upgrade of its ERP system in 2000. But the new system resulted in $100 million in lost sales and a 20% drop in stock price when it couldn't fulfill orders for Air Jordan footwear. Nike was overly optimistic in their goals, and they failed to verify business process met operational needs before deploying the system.
The Takeaway-It's important to set realistic goals in the implementation plan, especially with regard to ERP functionality and project schedules. Also defining operational and business requirements early on and keeping them in mind when developing systems. Ensure you take enough time to test the system for any kinks that need to be ironed out before putting your system into production.
3-MillerCoors' hiring the wrong people for the job
MillerCoors embarked on an ambitious plan to consolidate all of its financials on a single ERP system to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency. In 2014, it hired HCL Technologies to implement the project, which was stalled by numerous defects. MillerCoors ended up suing HCL for $100 million, which was finally resolved in 2018.The problem arose because the planning and architectural phases were not given adequate consideration. In addition, many critical defects and other additional problems were identified but not fixed.
HCL's core competency was generally regarded as implementation, not planning and architecture.
The Takeaway-  Ensure you have the right expertise for the particular project. IT is often the toughest and the most expensive part of integrating multiple companies, and they rushed through the planning and architecture phase only to get hurt by it later.
4-Revlon's underestimation of operational impact
Revlon attempted to integrate all of its ERP processes across business units after a merger with Elizabeth Arden in 2016. The new system failed spectacularly after it went live in 2018, resulting in a loss of $64 million in sales, a 6.4% loss in stock price and  an investor lawsuit.
A key issue was that Revlon had attempted to consolidate Microsoft and Oracle systems on a new SAP implementation but lacked hands-on experience with SAP. It also decided to go live without making sure the ERP business processes would work as intended.
Rolling out a system that does not meet operational needs and requirements often leads to adverse business impacts. Mind both the operational and business sides of an ERP implementation.
5- Invacare's ERP solution gets Expensive
Medical device manufacturer Invacare's ERP project faced a key setback in rolling out a major SAP upgrade in 2021. Unfortunately, the company had to pay a monthly maintenance fee to the system integrator as the project dragged on into 2022, and the fed-up board went shopping for a new CEO in August 2022.
ERP implementations are one of the most resource-intensive projects a company can pursue; budget and timeline mismanagement can derail an ERP project or stop it altogether.
The software and support vendors a company chooses can make all the difference. It is important to  conduct an RFP process that includes a comparative bid analysis, vendor demos and a scorecard filled in by key stakeholders.
Final takeaway: It is important to accurately estimate the total cost of ownership, have a timeline that considers all services and partners, and develop a plan to avoid cost overruns due to change orders or delays.

Light Beer Market Supply and Demand with Size (Value and Volume) by 2025
According to a new report published by Allied Market Research, titled, “Light Beer Market by Production, Package, and Distribution Channel: Opportunity Analysis and Industry Forecast, 2021–2027,”the light beer market size was valued at $285.3billion in 2019, and is expected to garner $338.8 billion by 2027, registering a CAGR of 2.9% from 2021 to 2027.
Beer is one of the most largely consumed alcoholic beverages in the world. Light beer market is prepared using malted cereals, hops, and water. Factors such as cultural changes and penetration of western culture have influenced consumers’ behavior and inclination toward light beer beverages. Light beer companies have recently introduced various flavors, targeting the female audience. Moreover, changing social lifestyle of the working class and growing disposable income, especially in developing Asian economies, have fueled the market growth.
Increase in young population and number of female drinkers directly drive the beer market. Female drinking is being accepted socially, as more number of females are getting at par with men both socially and professionally. Increase in disposable income of people allows them to consume high quality and premium beer and not just the traditional beer and rum. Increment in the number of restaurants and bars have resulted in greater consumption of these beverages, as people increasingly prefer on-premise drinking rather than off-premise drinking.  Brewers and distributors across the globe strive to appeal millennials who are known for their binge drinking habits.

Barriers to entry in this industry are high and steady. These restrictions include reduced costs and other high ongoing capital requirements, such as capital costs of manufacturing facilities and branding. Major companies have pre-existing agreements with distributors, which are heavily regulated and limited on a regional basis, severely limiting the exposure available to new players. In addition, shelf space is limited in retail outlets and major players produce a wide variety of products, which prevent many new players from placing their products in certain stores.
On the basis of production, the craft brewery segment accounted for the maximum light beer market share in 2019. This is attributed to increase in production volume of craft beer in America by 5% in the first two quarters of 2017, however it was slightly less than the growth achieved in the mid of 2016. According to the Chief Economist of the Brewers Association, the growth rate for small craft brewers has been estimated to be progressive in coming five years in the matured beer market. The number of craft breweries in the U.S. and Europe accounted for 86% of total craft breweries, globally. This was mainly due to the growing consumer preference for craft beer.
Key findings of the study
On the basis of production, the craft brewery segment was the highest contributor to the light beer market, and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 2.30% from 2021 to 2027.
By package, the PET bottle segment led the market in terms of value in 2019, and is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 2.60% from 2021to 2027.
Depending on the distribution channel, the hypermarkets and supermarkets segment is expected to grow at a steady CAGR of 2.60% from 2021to 2027.
Region wise, North America is expected to grow at a steady CAGR of 1.90% from 2021to 2027.
The key players operating in the light beer industry are the ABInBev, MillerCoors, Heineken USA, Pabst, Diageo-Guinness, Carlsberg, Asahi Breweries, Suntory Beer, Arpanoosh, and ErdingerWeibbrau.

Are flavor infused beers popular?
Beer retailers and bar operators are seeing the potential of flavour-infused brews as they meet the consumer demand for new experiences. Various leading brands are now selling flavoured brews, including Blue Moon, Shock Top, and MillerCoors' Leinenkugel Summer Shandy. In addition to their premium offerings, many of these companies now offer various packs containing multiple flavours. These 12-packs are popular among consumers, as consumers can sample several flavours within one 12-pack.
The latest beer flavouring trend is introducing foods into the grain bill. For instance, some breweries throw chocolate cake, Swedish fish, whole chicken parmesan sandwiches, and more into their batches. While this process is polarizing for purists, beer drinkers are often impressed by these innovative products.
One brewer, Dogfish Head, has taken the sour beer style to the next level. The brand's SuperEIGHT sour beer features blackberry, elderberry, and mango as flavours in the beer. Other flavours include raspberry and prickly pear.
The variety of flavours available in beer is nearly unlimited. The latest studies indicate that about 20% of beer drinkers have tried at least one flavoured brew in the past year. Of these, 57% have increased their consumption. The trend is especially popular with young women. According to one study, women aged 22 to 34 are the biggest fans of flavoured brews.
Fruit-flavoured brews are growing in popularity among beer drinkers. However, in addition to fruit-flavoured brews, there is also a range of flavoured stouts. A coffee-flavoured beer, for example, is made by steeping coffee beans in a mixture of beer and water.
While the popularity of flavour-infused beer may not be widespread yet, it is gaining ground among craft brewers. More brewers are experimenting with non-traditional flavours, like chocolate, mango, and dragon fruit. They can also add flavour to a traditional beer to enhance and emphasize its original flavour.
Flavour-infused beer is not new, and many popular brands have been experimenting with the concept. Great Divide Brewing Company, for example, offers a mango-infused IPA. It is available in the U.K. for $8 for a ten-ounce pour. The flavoured beer is served in fluted stemware with garnishes if desired. For those who want to try their hand at flavour-infused brews, they will be able to find some that taste great and are fun to drink.
Some of these breweries use a variety of herbs and spices to add different flavours to the brew. Crushed red chilli peppers, for example, impart a spicy flavour. These peppers are also used to make tea, which helps reduce heat levels and prevent sediment from entering the brew. Rosehips, on the other hand, add fruity and herbal beer flavours to beers.
