Day 8 of Posting My Previous Creations: My Mortal Kombat OC, Wendee!

Y'all, meet my longtime MK OC, Wendee! She is Earth's Edenian & the Wielder of the Shadowstone! In other words, she's an Edenian that calls Earthrealm her home & has shadow powers thanks to a magical yet evil stone from the Netherrealm!

I sketched her out at first, but saw how little that made her stand out, so I went to Affinity Designer & brought her to life! This is her MK1 bio card, reminiscent of the bios on the MK1 website!

This is her full default MK1 design. Black, gray, & silver was always a part of her design to make her sleek & different from other MK characters. She has silver eyes without the shades & she wears the Shadowstone on her back. She's also armed with weapons on a utility belt!

These are all her abilities/skills, if she was a playable MK character. Very strong inspirations from Noob Saibot & his shadow powers, but she uses them very differently! She also has other skills not relating to her Shadowstone, such as her own base magic ('cause Edenian genes), her speed, & her weapons!

I think I'll start talking about my OCs soon so, here's a quick intro to them and their world:

Meet our protagonists Thalaera and Kulpier (both use they/them). Thalaera Irithyl, is our main protagonist. They're a kind soul with a ton of anxiety and low self-esteem, but still wins the hearts of the townsfolk with their flawless beauty and helpful nature. A nature so helpful that is, in fact, selected by the God of Life themselves to rule their kingdom and restore it to greatness. They don't like this but hey, a whole kingdom needs their help and they are no quitter (they are actually, they can't quit, someone helps them). Kulpier, is the God of Life, the first God to ever been created. They're impulsive and unpredictable just...like life! But an incredibly charming and confident individual who is set to help out their kingdom after years of never showing up in the mortal realm. No one truly knows as to why they've been gone for so many years, but they're back now and seem to really want to help out!! What could possibly go wrong? More lore of their world under the cut!!

There's three realms: Mortal realm, Divine realm, Death realm.

The divine realm was once controlled by The Creator, an entity that few have seen or heard, they were the ones who created the God of Life also known as The first God also known as Kulpier. Their era ended once the gods fought a war in order to protect mortals from The Creators tyranny, unfortunately that left the mortal realm with more scars The mortal realm is divided in 7 kingdoms, they're all from the post important Gods which are: Solis (god of the sun) Selene (god of the moon) Terra (god of nature) Amore (god of love) Medela (god of medicine) Mors (god of death) And our dear old Kulpier. They were chosen as most mortals found them to be the most valuable and useful gods and worship them but the royals also work with them in order to run their kingdoms.

Death Realm: ruled by Mors and Kulpier. Mors took Kulpier in after an accident with the Creator and chose to protect them. That protection came into the form of a wedding, Kulpier now stays in the death realm no one truly knows why they've chosen to do so.

Mortal realm: self explanatory, where all the "Mortals" (aka those who aren't gods) live. They're different species of beings coming from humans to fae folks. That's where there the main 7 kingdoms ruled by those chosen by the gods themselves and who work strictly with them. Kulpier's kingdom is the exception. Bonus realms! Faerie realms: all the kingdoms have smaller fae realms around them, most mortals avoid it The ???? Forest A forest that spawned many years ago where resides The Maiden. A god no one knows anything about that is known to terrorize whomever tries to pass by her forest… problem being that Forest is the fastest way to get to Mors's kingdom

Day 14 of Posting My Previous Creations: More Sketches of my MK OC, Wendee!

I sketched more of my beloved Wendee! Let me break down every sketch with the close-ups:

The left sketch is her Order of Darkness design. The right is her Union of Light design. The middle is her in an Umgadi uniform, from her days as one! The left & right are actually older sketches while the Umgadi one was more recent.

I've also sketched her with Fujin & Fujina! Yes, my girl is a Fujinsexual pansexual woman!

In my lore for Wendee, in past timelines, she & Fujin have a slow-burn friendship that turns into an unrequited crush for my girl, unfortunately. 😭 But maybe in this new timeline, if Fujin is Raiden's sister this time, there might be a chance for something to happen!

pspspsps how did thalaera and kulpier meet? what was their first impressions of each other :3

HIIII RIVER!! RIVER IM SO SO HAPPY YOUVE ASKED MEE.

Their meeting is something I'm changing for the flow of the story, originally they met during a riot that Thalaera was unintentionally leading. Kulpier was impressed and asked them to become the new leader.

Now I'm not quite sure how it happened but I know that, once again, Kulpier asked Thalaera to form an alliance and to become the new ruler, with Thalaera accepting as they hope they can fix the system from the inside.

Only for both of them to discover the system is corrupted and having to take it down and rebuild it from the ground.

As for first impressions, Kulpier was immediately fascinated by Thalaera and their way to live life. Thal was following Kulpier's teaching to a t, and that's what matters most when picking up a ruler for the kingdoms. Kulpier also started to develop a crush when first meeting them but weren't aware of it until later in the story for a couple of reasons 1) they've never experienced romantic attraction with anyone before that 2) they don't understand their own emotions 3) denial 4) can't distinguish romantic and platonic feelings and 5) they hate Amore and don't want to experience what drove a ton of mortals to insanity.

As for Thalaera, they hated Kulpier lol. Maybe not hated but were definitely annoyed by them. Kulpier as life can be eccentric and impulsive and disruptive, something Thalaera heavily hates about life. It will never be stated in the canon, but Thalaera is heavily coded as autistic, in modern AUs they are diagnosed with it, it just wouldn't make sense for this fantasy world to have autism as a diagnosis but keep in mind they're autistic and can be easily annoyed because of it. So yeah 90% of their banters are the start is an impulsive and chaotic being with an autistic person who does not like when things don't go their way lmao.

Their relationship at the start is always funny to me because it's so heavily one sided on Thalaera's part, Kulpier thinks Thalaera is so cool and pretty and wants to get to know them better and become bffs.
