you rubbed your eyes as you forced yourself to get up. as you put on your glasses and opened your phone you giggled

gaeul : she fucking forced me to teacher the newbies !

you quickly texted the angry secretary backs and got ready for work. you yawned as you turned on your coffee machine and cracked an egg over your only pan.

“did you see gauel’s text ! it was supposed to be me but I told our dear yujinnie gaeul ‘loves the youth’”. as wonyoung laughed you slapped her arm.

“your going to get her in anger management classes !”

“again !”. wonyoung giggled as she picked up your cat. you threw more eggs and popped some bacon in your air fryer as wonyoung cooed at your little ginger cat.

“sooooo”. you turned around looking for plates as wonyoung tapped the counter.

“yujin updates !”. you racked your brain for some gossip to feed the girl. wonyoung had come up with the idea that yujin just had a massive crush on you and was misting being mean to show she cared. and for the three months she spewed this shit your rejected it.

“uh.. she glared at me?”. wonyoung slapped your counter making your cat jump off her lap.

“that’s all you got..”. wonyoung pouted as you gave her, her plate of food.

“your making your food sad..”. wonyoung rolled her eyes. the bacon was almost black and upside down with two eggs on top.. that looked mutated.

“I brought breakfast donuts don’t worry”. you sighed as wonyoung took the box of two donuts from her back pack.

“hay why do you have th-“

“sleep over~”. you threw your head back as you poured some water in your cats bowl and some food. she ran around your feet before finally eating it.

“yes ! you know you want a free facial !”. you sighed as you grabbed your work bag and tried to pull down your skirt.

“omg it’s not even that short ! it’s the longest miniskirt I have for christ sake y/n !”. you laughed as you shoved the donut in your mouth and wonyoung ran with hers out your door.

“oh my good I hope you get that bonus soon I’m tired of uberring everywhere..”. you sighed as you ate the last of your donut. wonyoung gave you a piece of gum while she finally took a bite of hers.

“buy your own car?”. wonyoung laughed as you put your lipstick back on. bump

you sighed as wonyoung whipped off the smudge from your cheek and reapplied your lipstick. it was well known by your group that wonyoung had money. she just didn’t use it cause you all didn’t have money like she did. unless it was clothes, or some random campaign or girl scouts cookies wonyoung never spent more then four hundred bucks a week. which she knew was a lot but she just loved miu miu to much.

“shit it didn-“. wonyoung pouted as you ate the last bite of her donut and ran around the car to open her door. she then smiled and tipped the driver twenty bucks. you glared at her.

“what.. he called my outfit skirt”

“you mean the cropped shirt.. the short skirt and the unproperly tied tie?”. wonyoung gasped. but as you entered the building fixed her tie behind you. when you entered the office gauel’s head was on her desk, liz was talking to the new recruits and rei was typing away.

“hey I’ll see you at lu-“

“mrs. y/l/n can you step into my office”. you jumped and wonyoung laughed. you gave her the finger and then fast walked to yujin’s office.

“wh-“

“mrs…. lee..”

“lee hyunseo”. your eyes darted to the teen girl sitting far far far end of your bosses long table.

“yes.. needs a tour of the place and a run through because she was just hired yesterday”. you but your lip, smile and nodded urging hyunseo to follow you.

“oh thank you mrs..”. you had already left. Yujin sighed as she opened her computer and typed ‘praise was not heard’ in her notes app titled ‘confess to y/n’.

as you showed hyunseo around she started to look less wide eyed and more scared. as you approached the new recruit area you stopped her.

“they aren’t going to bite”

“how do you know that?”

“cause I was one of them”. hyunseo tilted her head of the idea of you relating to her.

“really..?”. you patted her head and she cracked a smile.

“ya don’t worry just excuse yourself to the bathroom if you need help”. the younger girl nodded as she waved you goodbye and went into the glass room. immediately you heard a grown.

“you ok eul?”

“fuck no”. you laughed and gaeul pulled her head of her desk.

“oh.. yujin left this for you it’s not poisoned I checked”. you smile dropped as you saw pink lipstick in the coffee. but it creeped up again when you saw the untouched cupcake box.

“you know maybe wo-“

“no no no, have a good day keep the coffee”. you grabbed the cupcake and ran to your desk while gaeul sipped her coffee.

as the recruits left the office the same girl from years ago showed them to their desks. hyunseo was last and sat right across of you next to yeojin. you quickly texted and she turned around and winked at you.

This is your Spring 2023 Paris Fashion guide sheet, with everything from celebrity-studded front rows and runways to a highly popular scene involving spray paint and a supermodel. The major finale of fashion month, Paris Fashion Week, ended early this month. The Y2K nostalgia and barely their miniskirts or bras worn in place of shirts from previous seasons remained pervaded several shows, thus it may not have been the most innovative season on the runway front. It was also lacking in terms of inclusivity on the runway. Whether you were in the city of light or watching live streams and TikToks from the comfort of your own couch, there were plenty of reasons to be excited: showgoers making bold fashion statements (ahem, Doja Cat), K-Pop royalty in some of the most prominent front rows, famous people making cameos on the runway, and much more. The Runway had so many celebrities This season, celebrities appeared in cameos on and off the runways, creating a few entertaining and unexpected moments. At the Miu Miu show, FKA Twigs in tiny shorts and, um, flip-flop boots and Ethel Cain in a sequined ensemble drove Twitter into a frenzy. HoYeon Jung opened Louis Vuitton later that day while sporting some extremely enormous zippers. Although Bella Hadid put in the most effort this week, it was good to see some more famous faces. BLACKPINK takeover the Front Row After K-Pop artist Jeno had a major runway moment in New York, the streets of Paris might have passed for a Blackpink concert. Rosé wore a black minidress to Saint Laurent, Jisoo wore a black mini with fishnets to Dior, and Jennie Kim stunned in a vibrant knit ensemble to Chanel. BELLA HADID GETTING SPRAYED INTO A COPERNI DRESS and BALENCIAGA’S MESSY MUD BATH Coperni designers Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant sprayed a dress onto Bella Hadid in front of the audience in a runway moment that recalled the iconic Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 1999 show, in which Shalom Harlow's white dress was live-painted on the runway by two robots as she stood on a rotating platform.  It takes a lot of blood, sweat, and, in the case of Balenciaga, dirt to put on a fashion show. A front row full of celebrities and a cast of face-pierced models trudged through actual mud that creative director Demna brought in and smeared on the walls and spread on the runway. KYLIE’S TOUR DE FRANCE We'll see at least one or two Kardashian/Jenner sightings if it's Paris. How about 10 this season, Kylie said. This Week, the reality star showed up in numerous front rows and events. She was bolder than we're used to seeing from the family, which prefers largely black and white. A REMARKABLE, SINGLE FRONT-ROW APPEARANCE BY ZENDAYA Do it like Zendaya if you're only going to make one appearance at Paris Fashion Week. The Euphoria actress and Valentino favorite commanded attention in the front row in a transparent bodysuit adorned with the brand's insignia in crystals, a matching blazer, and shoes. She does not miss as usual. ALL OF DOJA CAT’S FRONT ROW LOOKS Long considered a requirement for pop stars, only Doja Cat currently leads the music business in having fun with clothes. You sat comfortably in your leather, Vitra chair and gazed outside the tall windows of your mansion. The sun was setting. It was early June, when Truffula trees were the most colourful. You love this forest. You’ve always loved it.

Except it’s not a forest anymore. Behind the pink and orange tufts you could still notice the thick, stone walls. You tried planting more trees in that area to make it less visible, but there it was, constantly trying to make you feel guilty about the life you had chosen. 

“It was the natural way for things to go”, you thought to yourself. You had spent years muting the guilt that came with deforesting the Valley. And it actually worked. After all, you were genuinely happy. The two of you were genuinely happy.

You both loved the power you had over everyone. You loved seeing your company grow. You loved the people of Thneedville admiring you. You loved the little things as well; custom Miu Miu outfits, designer furniture, vintage cars and fine dining. But most importantly, you loved each other. You fell in love with him before he became successful. The two of you would be just as happy without all these things. The two of you were just as happy without all these things. Years ago, when all you had was a little cottage. And that cottage was enough.

“How could it be enough?”, you’d sometimes catch yourself thinking. You gazed dreamily outside the window, sipping a Tom Collins. Life couldn’t get better than this. These warm days you’d find yourself wandering around the garden and reading books. Sometimes you felt like redecorating or painting some landscapes. You cooked, maybe put on some music and danced a little. You liked to keep yourself occupied. So you didn’t have to think about what could’ve been if things didn’t happen the way they happened. It wasn’t guilt, you’d tell yourself. It was just curiosity and a tiny bit of sentiment.

The moment you’d let yourself go back to these events, your mind spiraled out of control. You caressed those memories so intensively in the past that you remembered everything in perfect detail. You remembered his smiling face in the movie theatre, holding his waist while biking through the forest, the long phone calls, your first kiss or the first night you two had spent together. You remembered the feeling of anxiety-filled uncertainty or the way you wanted to fix everything and everyone. You remembered your anger and the exact moment you let it go. And you wondered what could’ve happened if you didn’t.

“It wouldn’t change anything”, you’d think, hoping one day you’ll believe that. You liked to imagine yourself as his saviour, as someone who fixed him. But he wasn’t the one to be fixed. After all, you were an equal part of this. The two of you did it together. You loved to think of yourself as his accessory, as a beautiful, little fool who had to act the way they acted because of love or… any other emotion, really. But after all these years you had trouble keeping that version of reality believable, even if it was meant for your own perception exclusively.

- Onceler - you’ve noticed your voice shaking slightly - do you think we’d be happy without the company? 

You surprised him with this question. He came up to you, sat on the soft, thneed rug and gently laid his head on your thighs.

- Aren’t you happy with your life right now? - he kissed your leg and smiled.

- Is anyone ever?

You closed your eyes and took a deep breath. And then, seemingly out of nowhere, the memories came like a rope let down from heaven to draw you up.

This was probably my least favorite outfit from the Black Widow press tour…

I thought that the beauty and accessories were amazing. I loved the pink hair at the ends and how it matched her pink eye makeup. I also liked her necklace and shoes and thought they worked well with the silver detailing on the top.

I’m not a huge fan of the top and skirt. I feel like the top is just a little off. I don’t know if I like how it’s fitted. I feel like the bottoms are a little bland. They’re ok and work well with the top but aren’t super special. I just wished for a more extravagant look for Florence.

This is one of the hardest questions to answer and I had so many more options, especially for best clothes! I've also just realised you said "best and worst" not "favourite and least favourite" but that's what you've got. Although now you've given me the idea, one day I will make a "best outfits" version because they are different things in my head.

Size does matter

After the rebirth of cool that was White on Blonde, Texas are finally ready to capitalise on their credibility. And for Sharleen Spiteri, this time it's personal...

Armed with a wedge of crisp tenners ready to blow at the bar, it's impossible to deny a slight tinge of disappointment when Sharleen Spiteri's choice of beverage turns out to be a cup of tea. Ask what she's doing at the weekend and she talks excitedly about staying in to await delivery of a new fridge. Getting on a domestic roll, she waxes lyrical about the draught excluders she's just fitted in her new Primrose Hill home. "I think I'm turning into my mum," she concludes.

Sharleen Spiteri may be a woman who stands accused of many things, but domestic obsession isn't one of them. She's been criticised for trying to add credibility to her soul-tinged radio-friendly rock by aligning herself with the likes of Rae and Christian and the Wu-Tang Clan. When she employed Juergen Teller to shoot the cover of Texas' 1997 album White On Blonde, it was said she brought him in an attempt to re-invent herself as a moody, hip and highly marketable frontwoman. Even her choice of boyfriend, Arena Homme Plus editor Ashley Heath, who she's been seeing for years, has been called her svengali figure, a calculated move to position herself within the sphere of all things cool. "I've never ever seen it written where someone's gone, 'Yeah Sharleen's alright, she knows what she's doing'," she says. "But it's like fuck them, who cares? Everyone seems to forget that I used to be a hairdresser, I used to do shoots constantly and teach all over the world. I was very much part of the whole industry before I was ever in a band, then suddenly it got to this point where everyone was saying Texas are trying to re-invent themselves. People want a story though, they want to invent something." When Sharleen first appeared on the cover of i-D back in March'97, readers wrote in to complain: why should we want to feature someone like Spiteri? She was old news: her debut single, I Don't Want a Lover, hit number eight way back in '89. Her records shifted millions and she'd spent far too much time at the top of the charts. In 1997, Texas were one of the most played acts on British radio. Mass market, stadium-sized exposure - how uncool is that? "I don't want to make cool music," she retorts angrily. "What is cool music? It might be cool today but it's not going to be cool tomorrow. People still talk about ‘I Don't Want A Lover’ and that was ten years ago; to me that's far cooler than writing some fucking stupid song that sold 20 copies. It's like, don't waste my time, pretentious fucks. I'm not interested in being trendy. I went through all that when I was 16. It seems it's more important nowadays to be into the right music, wear the right trainers, sit in the right bars and have the right furniture. It's too much effort, I'm too old and it's too boring." Hence her fad for draught, excluders. There was a time, though, when Sharleen did care what people thought and she'd sit through interviews desperately trying to be liked. Even so, after the third Texas album, Ricks Road, the backlash kicked in. People lost interest, the press wrote her off and Spiteri took it all very personally. The whole experience left her feeling crushed and betrayed, she says. For a while Texas plugged away on the European tour circuit; they went "where the love was". But when the tour ended in '95, Spiteri had had enough and took off to Paris for a year to live with her mate. For a while it was touch and go. But today she's got an Ivor Novello award for 'outstanding body of work' sitting on her mantelpiece and a four million-selling comeback album. Finally she realised it was time to stop caring what people thought. "We really fought to make that album," Sharleen admits. "A lot of people thought Texas had split up - some didn't know we'd ever existed - but we made a record because we believed in our ability to keep it going, we kept our values and rode it through. When people aren't interested, you really have to fight for what you believe in; we did and to come through the other end was the biggest gift anyone could ever have given us. All those people who went out and brought that record was the biggest compliment anyone could ever pay us." At the end 1997, Texas played at the Hogmanay party in Edinburgh. With the castle as a backdrop and a sky exploding with fireworks, the curtain came down on what Sharleen describes as an unbelievable, fantastic year. That moment, playing to a rapturous New Year's audience, marked the end of the White On Blonde era and two days later, still riding on the buzz, she sat down with co-writer Johnny McElhone in her Glasgow recording studio and tried to do it again. The Hush, their fifth album, is the result. "This is the Texas album we've been building up to throughout our entire history," she says. "I really do believe we've nailed it."

Sharleen describes it as sensual, a collection of moods, hence the title. They spent weeks planning the running order; it's a record, she reckons, that will take your imagination to all sorts of different places when you put it on in your bedroom. Namechecked influences remain the classic Texas roll call: "You can hear the Roxy Music influences," she says. "Abba and the Human League all mixed in with The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, AI Green and Ann Peebles." The result is pure, polished summer-tinged pop with Spiteri's syrupy, smooth vocals stronger than ever, delivered lying as usual on her back. For the album's artwork, this time Sharleen chose Gucci campaign photographer Luis Sanchez and headed out to Miami Beach where she languished in the sea for something more seductive than the pared down White On Blonde sleeve. "It was a case of let's go to the other end of the spectrum," she says, "the complete opposite of what Juergen Teller would do. He's very stripped down, very in your face. But because it's called The Hush, we wanted something shiny and glamorous. I've always loved the Roxy Music sleeves, classic late '70s album covers. It was more on that tip." The source of inspiration for one track entitled The Girl actually came from Lauryn Hill. It refers to that rare thing: a woman with money and power, with the conviction to use it exactly the way she wants to. "She's stuck to her guns and I think that's what it's all about," Sharleen says. "I'm so aware a lot of people are quite prepared to sell their soul to get what they want, but I'm not and I don't think Lauryn is either. I look at men's magazines and see all these girls on the cover; you simply cannot get on one unless you're prepared to get your tits out and so many people do. It's inspiring seeing the way Lauryn Hill does it. And then she gets called an awkward bitch for it. It's so difficult if you're a woman and you've got an opinion. It's not considered an opinion, it's a fucking attitude problem and I find that very frustrating." Inevitably Spiteri with her natural, androgynous good looks and flair for throwing together Prada with trainers has had countless offers to strip down and 'do something sexy'. But their idea of sexy, she says, is very different from her own. "Sexy is really all about imagining as opposed to seeing. That's why I love working with Juergen; his whole thing is about catching a real moment, something that you actually would do like sit in the bath. If it's all there in your face you don't even see it. But once you've shown it, you've shown it and you can't go back on it. I think it's laughable - if that's where the male sex are supposed to be at, it's very sad. Why do they have to have everything in pictures to understand how things work?" At school, Sharleen was one of those girls who were approached by the boys - but sadly never for anything she had to offer. "I'm not an archetypal beauty. Everything's a mess, my nose is all bent," she says. "It was always, Sharleen, you know your mate, sort us out a date.' I was like a pimp at school. At the time it was like, 'You bastard', but it was actually a really good way to accept the way I am." In those days, Spiteri was convinced she was going to grow up to be a designer. She gave up her Saturdays to study fashion at Glasgow School Of Art, landing her first-ever discount card for the local art supplies shop. She spent countless nights cutting and embellishing outfits, standing on the kitchen table while her long-suffering mum pinned up her latest creation at two in the morning. It's not surprising then that when Muiccia Prada approached her to model for the Miu Miu line, Spiteri turned her down flat. "You're not going to get me stuck with one designer," she says. "I love clothes too much." Back in '89, sporting tomboy denims and a Siouxie Sioux haircut, Spiteri modelled herself on Patti Smith. She made great music, she wasn't gorgeous and she wasn't blonde something to aspire to. But two years ago at the Q awards, Spiteri's mentor came crashing off her pedestal. "She did this whole thing: 'If these are all the people I've influenced then fuck it'. I thought, 'You rude cow'. PJ Harvey gave her the award - if I'd been presenting it I'd have belted her. To have been doing this for so long and to be so lucky to be doing it, she should frigging know better and she should be glad if she's influenced anyone." Since that moment, Spiteri's stopped playing Smith's music. "All I hear when I put her records on is just a really angry person. It's not good vibes to be giving out, it's like what on earth have you possibly got to be angry about?" To this day, Spiteri remains eternally, sweetly grateful for her ten years in Texas, even those spent wallowing in the European pop wilderness. "I'm always very careful what I wish for," she says. "And I never tell anyone because they'll never come true." Texas, she thinks, was something that was always meant to happen, even though when she was first asked to sing she thought it was a wanky chat up line. She carefully avoids tempting fate; insisting on being the last to walk out on stage and always locking away the first pressing of every Texas record because superstition tells her to. She refuses to court fame for fame's sake. "It's easy to be invisible if you want to be," she says. Once a crazed Biblewielding lunatic forced his way into her dressing room in France. Even though he was ousted before he got to say his piece, it was an incredibly frightening moment for her. At 32, she's thinking about having kids; attention like that isn't what she needs. Chances are, The Hush will do a White On Blonde and sell and sell, especially if Chris Evans takes it on as a personal crusade, as he has before. Next month Texas release the single In Our Lifetime. "The whole sentiment behind it is about finding yourself in a situation that's totally meant for you and taking it," Sharleen says. "You only get one chance, it's that once in a lifetime situation; you've got to grab it with both hands and never let it go." The tale of Texas possibly? The story of the girl who ditched a glittering career in hairdressing to join a band on a whim and who persevered in the face of endless criticism. Spiteri pauses for a moment. "Oh yes," she says. "I've never thought of it like that."

The Texas single, In Our Lifetime, is out on April 19 on Mercury, followed on May 10 by The Hush LP.

The last stop of the Phil Oh fashion week tour is Paris, and the looks he captures never disappoint. Reviewing Paris Fashion Week street style, you can expect epic off the runway looks and moments of extraordinary creativity from maximalists, minimalists, and every style in between. I guess you could say the fashion month circuit has saved the best for last! One commonality among this group of Parisien showgoers? A penchant for the most classic of French girl style accessories, the foulard.

A handful of PFW attendees—each with their own personal styles, we might add—incorporated a silk scarf into their looks. It didn’t matter how they dressed, be it a borrowed from the boys leather jacket to a hot pink working girl skirt suit, there was a handkerchief tied somewhere on their person.

Dua Lipa Paired A Zebra Bikini With A Cowboy Hat In Her “Love Again” Music Video

The popularity of Western tropes in fashion isn’t new. Quite the opposite actually — Americana signatures like cowboy boots, double-denim, and more have been trending on and off for years and horse girls are having a fashion moment in 2021. And yet, Dua Lipa made the style feel surprisingly fresh in the music video for her sixth single from Future Nostalgia, titled, “Love Again,” which she released on Friday. 

In the video, which gives off serious Madonna “Don’t Tell Me” vibes, the 25-year-old singer sports a number of different in-the-saddle ‘fits, from a zebra-print bikini top paired with hot pants, a cowboy hat, and a bolo tie, to an off-the-runway pink bandana top from Blumarine that she wore with a lavender hat. Other style highlights include a red-and-black denim set from Levi’s recent collaboration with Miu Miu, as well as a cow-print bikini top worn with a clashing cow-print jacket and baggy cargo pants. Suffice to say, thanks to Lipa, we’re falling in “Love Again” with cowboy wares.

The singer took to Instagram following the video’s release to thank her team, tagging her longtime stylist Lorenzo Posocco, who has been crafting one hell of a wardrobe for Lipa throughout award season — see: her Cher-inspired butterfly Versace looks from the Grammys — as well as her press tour for Future Nostalgia. “Thank you to my gang for always pullin’ through,” she captioned a clip from the music video. “We shot this video in the midst of our Brits rehearsals and prep. Learnt the choreo in 45 mins, kept adding outfits mid shoot, but we did the damn thaaaang!! Thank you.” Posocco, too, posted the clip on Instagram, though his caption was more to the point, using only the cowboy emoji. ‘Nuff said.
