I started something with honours in 2003 and ended up with gaps as a portfolio took shape and size, and then I ended up developing an unconventional route into more scientific engagements with formal learning and training with entrepreneurial self-employment that enabled volunteering, advocating, reforming, and so much extra free learning. Now I will have a postgraduate degree by next year with the option to continue professional development in another postgraduate degree to have two bachelors of applied sciences with the chance to do a masters degree sort of two years later, which is kind of towards 2025, and that masters will be a postgraduate degree as well. I've got this level 2 NVQ (GCSE equivalent) coming up soon, too, and more free NCFE CACHE level 2 and level 3 options available to me. These two links inset that follow are only part of the route to my considered MA, masters degree, before I work out how to finish my open degree with a postdoctoral degree and afford it. Research in the area poses particular challenges because of the relatively recent emergence of the asexual community, as well as the expanding array of terms and concepts through which asexuals articulate their differences and affirm their commonalities. This article presents the initial findings of a mixedmethods research project, which involved semi-structured interviews, online questionnaires and a thematic analysis of online materials produced by members of the asexual community. The aim was to understand self-identified asexuals in their own terms so as to gain understanding of the lived experience of asexuals, as well as offering a subjectively adequate grounding for future research in the area. In many ways, this is an exciting book, maybe the first serious attempt I’ve seen to provide a practical framework for new researchers who want to engage using mixed research methodologies.

There is no content in Plowright’s FraIM (Frameworks for an Integrated Methodology) model, only a diagrammatically portrayed framework. It tries to imply processes and activities in a generalized and abstract fashion. As a result, it is difficult to convey in words and is presented in the book as figures. These diagrams depict the steps in the process of creating, planning, and doing research, with the researcher providing the content, methodological decisions, and actions.
