Copy of Drum & Bass Spring Mix 2021
Drum & Bass Spring Mix by binsky. 2021 Sound Stream Sessions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMVOwjBr0h8 Hi, I’m Binsky. I was asked to do a drum & bass spring mix for my buddy Stricklyswerve back in 2021. Seeing as I am easily attracted to the melodies dancing between Liquid and Techstep, they go well together architecturally and emotionally. Kind of like the call and response found in blues…

Okay this article is dumb as fuck. Imagine going to Portland and thinking it's "not diverse" and "one of America's most Caucasian cities." That is not the case. At all. Portland, OR is a sanctuary city and a popular destination for immigrants and refugees from all over the world. Any time you get a letter from the government, it gets sent to you in 14 different languages. Living in Portland, I met people from Namibia, somalia, Ukraine, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, china. The list goes on and on. When my brother graduated from high school, the principal gave a speech proudly declaring the diversity of the class, stating that there were graduating alumni born in 193+ different countries. The valedictorian was Iraqi. Portland is one of the most diverse cities in the US. If you visit Portland and you think it's not diverse, then you only went to tourist spots. Don't believe everything you saw on Portlandia. Walk your stupid ass out of laurelhurst and come on over to Hazelwood if you think it's that Caucasian. I'm so annoyed right now. You don't know shit about Portland.

Henry Canyons "Not Today"
"Not Today" is the third video off Henry Canyon's 2018 album "Cool Side of the Pillow," produced by Matt 'Bones' Bowen and directed by Ryan Calavano.
LA based rapper, Henry Canyons, transcends your typical boundaries of hip-hop identity. The self-described Brooklinite-French-Jew took to music at a young age; from his training as a jazz saxophonist to his teenage years spent in Brooklyn ciphers, his melodic style and bilingual lyrical integrity reflect a diverse musical background. Canyons left for the West Coast in 2005 to attend Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. After graduating, Canyons moved to LA intent on following his passion for the artform. Since then Henry has worked on multiple projects, most recently his first solo mixtape, Vignettes. Upon its release in October of 2012, Vignettes–which features production from BoomBaptist–received cosigns from WordisBond, HypeFloats, Hip-hop.com and many other online publications. Since then, Canyons has been working on collaborative projects with French producers, Keor Meteor and Freddy Jay, as well as NYC producer Willie Green. Over the course of his career, Canyons has racked up over 30,000 views on YouTube, and has shared stages with Macklemore, Tash, Open Mike Eagle, Pigeon Jon, Blue Scholars, Billy Woods, and tons of local LA talent.

Yaeji Isn't Taking It 'For Granted' After having a pretty quiet 2022, Yaeji is ready to have a big 2023 with the release of her debut album With a Hammer.Set to arrive April 7 via XL Recordings, the forthcoming album marks the first full-length project from Yaeji since her 2020 mixtape What We Drew 우리가 그려왔던. and features collaborations with Loraine James, Enayet, K Wata and Nourished by Time. In addition to announcing the record's release date and revealing its full tracklist, Yaeji has also announced a new North American tour in support of the album set to kick off this March. Related | Yaeji Gets 'PAC-TIVE'The album and tour announcement arrives alongside a self-directed music video for the lead single, "For Granted." Our first sonic offering from With a Hammer, the new track sees Yaeji in peak form with a mix of bright ravey synths, lo-fi beats, her signature bilingual lyricism and a last-minute curveball in the form of a frenetic DnB drop. Drawing inspiration from shōjo anime like Sailor Moon and Kaitou Jeanne and the on-demand catharsis of rage rooms, "For Granted" sees Yaeji get introspective as the artist muses about gratitude and success with real-life mementos strewn about a makeshift room before smashing it all with an incredibly cute hammer.Check out the music video for "For Granted," the full tracklist for With a Hammer and dates for Yaeji's spring tour below. With a Hammer:01 Submerge FM02 For Granted03 Fever04 Passed Me By05 With a Hammer06 I’ll Remember for You, I’ll Remember for Me07 Done (Let’s Get It)08 Ready or Not [ft. Origami Angel Announce New Album
Origami Angel will release Feeling Not Found on September 27th. Today they’ve shared two new songs from the album, “Dirty Mirror Selfie” and “Where Blue Light Blooms.” Track Listing * Lost Signal * Dirty Mirror Selfie * Where Blue Light Blooms * Viral * Underneath My Skin * Wretched Trajectory * AP Revisionist History * Living Proof * Fruit Wine * Sixth Cents (Get It?) * Secondgradefoofight * HM07 Waterfall * Higher Road * Feeling Not Found Press Release If you've got it, flaunt it––and all over the upcoming 14-track full length from Washington, D.C. duo  Origami Angel, that's exactly what vocalist/guitarist Ryland Heagy and drummer  Pat Doherty do. Simply put, their new album, Feeling Not Found, is the future of emo. Recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight, The Wonder Years) at Studio 4, Feeling Not Found revolves around the deeply modern experience teased in the title: an emotional and spiritual 404 error, a sensation of cellular-level malfunction and data corruption, of being lost in an oblivion of digital information, and the desperate struggle to reconnect to how it feels to be human and whole.  Origami Angel will headline a mammoth trek across the U.S. this fall in support of Feeling Not Found, and they're bringing along Arm's Length, Macseal, and Forests for support. All tickets go on sale this Friday. Two songs from Feeling Not Found are out today: "Dirty Mirror Selfie" may quickly rise in the ranks of the Origami Angel discography, with its furious pogo-ready riff plunging into a power-pop declaration of intent.“Where Blue Light Blooms,” a stunning, operatic track, finds Heagy and Doherty giving a workshop in outside-the-box songwriting and includes one of the most thrilling bridges you’ll hear on a rock song this year.  Origami Angel want to be the best like no one ever was, and so far, it seems like very little is going to stand in their way. Over the last few years, the duo has released some of the most exciting music to come out of the emo/pop-punk scene in years, and they're doing it their own way. Their 2019 LP, Somewhere City, has been called one of the best emo albums of the last 15 years by Consequence and their song "Doctor Whomst" called one of the 100 best emo songs of all time by Vulture. From that point forward, the duo has consistently reinvented expectations year-after-year––starting with 2021's massive double-LP, GAMI GANG,a pair of contrasting EPs in 2022 called re:turnand DE:PART, and a 2023 East Coast summer mixtape,The Brightest Days. Together, Heagy and Doherty are truly setting the tone for what the next decade of emo will sound like. Tour Dates Thu 10/24 Nashville, TN - Eastside Bowl Fri 10/25 Atlanta, GA - The Masquerade - Heaven Sat 10/26 Orlando, FL - The Beacham (Half House) Mon 10/28 Austin, TX - Mohawk Tue 10/29 Fort Worth, TX - Tulips Thu 10/31 Mesa, AZ - The Nile Fri 11/1 Pomona, CA - The Glass House Sat 11/2 Pomona, CA - The Glass House Sun 11/3 San Diego, CA - SOMA Sidestage Tue 11/5 Roseville, CA - Goldfields Roseville Wed 11/6 San Francisco, CA - Great American Music Hall Fri 11/8 Portland, OR - Hawthorne Theatre Sat 11/9 Vancouver, BC - Rickshaw Theatre Sun 11/10 Seattle, WA - Showbox Wed 11/13 Denver, CO - Gothic Theatre Fri 11/15 St. Louis, MO - Delmar Hall Sat 11/16 Chicago, IL - House of Blues Sun 11/17 Detroit, MI - St. Andrews Hall Tue 11/19 Lakewood, OH - The Roxy at Mahalls Thu 11/21 Boston, MA - Big Night Live Fri 11/22 Philadelphia, PA - TLA Sun 11/24 New York, NY - Webster Hall --- Please consider becoming a member so we can keep bringing you stories like this one. ◎ https://chorus.fm/news/origami-angel-announce-new-album/

IT’S LIT: Celebrating Travis Scott’s 33rd Birthday With All Of His Top 10 Billboard 100 Hits

One of the biggest artists and popular culture figures of this generation turned 33 today. Click inside to celebrate his legacy with a gallery of all of his Top 10 hits!
Jacques Bermon Webster II was born in Houston, Texas. Webster lived with his grandmother in South Park, Houston from ages one through six. He then moved to Missouri City to live with his parents. Due to the fact that Webster’s father is a soul musician and his grandfather was a jazz composer, music was already embedded in him. While attending Elkins High School, which he graduated from at 17, he participated in musical theater. During his second year at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Webster dropped out to fully pursue his music career.
One he left college, Scott moved to New York City. He slept on his friend’s floor and spent most of his time at Just Blaze’s studio. Unfortunately for him, progress didn’t come fast enough. He moved to Los Angeles after only living in NYC for four months. After falling on tough times in LA, Scott moved back to Houston but was eventually kicked out of his parent’s home. When he moved back to Los Angeles, he began to sleep on the couch of a friend who studied at University of Southern California. Around the time, Grand Hustle Records rapper and owner T.I. heard one of Scott’s productions. One of T.I.’s representatives invited Scott to a studio for a meeting. During the meeting, T.I. rapped over one of Scott’s productions, laying the groundwork for Scott to sign with Grand Hustle.
After several delays, Scott’s first solo full-length project, Owl Pharoah was released on May 21st, 2013. The following year, he released Days Before Rodeo, his second mixtape and the prelude to his debut studio album Rodeo. The highly-anticipated album was released on September 4th, 2015. It debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 chart and catapulted him to a household name. Since then, Travis has released three more solo albums (Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, Astroworld, Utopia) with all three reaching number one of the US Billboard 200, a collaborative album (Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho) with Quavo and a compilation album (Jackboys) with the rappers signed to Scott’s Cactus Jack imprint.
Cactus Jack Records, which was founded in 2017, is just another venture Travis has dived into. He started the annual music festival Astroworld in 2018. Over the years, Scott has collaborated with countless clothing and sneaker brands including Been Trill, Diamond Supply Co., A Bathing Ape, Nike, Helmut Lang and Jordan, just to name a few. The ‘Pick Up The Phone’ artist has teamed up with the likes of Fortnite, McDonald’s and even PlayStation to promote special merchandise, meals and so many other things. He made his theatrical in the 2021 film Gully. Later in the year, he signed a movie production deal with A24.
Travis Scott has left an undeniable mark on this generation. Although he is involved in so many things, the world initially came to love him based on his music prowess. To celebrate his legacy and his birthday, check out our gallery of all of his Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hits. HAPPY 33RD TRAVIS!

Quavious Keyate Marshall (born April 2, 1991), known professionally as Quavo is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is known as the co-founder and frontman of hip hop group Migos, being the uncle of late member Takeoff and cousin of Offset. He is a partial owner of the FCF Glacier Boyz.
He has been featured on several US top 10 hits, including Post Malone’s “Congratulations”, which was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America; as well as DJ Khaled’s “No Brainer” and “I’m the One”, the latter of which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2018, he released his debut solo album Quavo Huncho, which peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200.
He was born in Athens, Georgia. The three members of Migos grew up together in Gwinnett County, attended Berkmar High School, and he was the starting quarterback of its football team during his senior year. He dropped out months before graduation. In May 2020, he announced he had graduated from high school after dropping out 11 years earlier.
Migos was formed in 2008 by him and fellow rappers Takeoff and Offset. The group was originally known as Polo Club and is from Lawrenceville, Georgia. They changed their name to “Migos” after deciding Polo Club was too generic. The group released their first full-length project, a mixtape titled Juug Season, on August 25, 2011. They followed with the mixtape No Label, on June 1, 2012.
After the success of Migos’ second studio album Culture, which reached #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart, he was featured on several popular songs outside of Migos, including “Congratulations”, “I’m the One”, “Portland” and “No Brainer”. In an interview with GQ, Houston-based rapper Travis Scott, with whom he worked on the Young Thug collaboration “Pick Up the Phone”, revealed he had a collaborative album with Quavo in the works.
In April 2017, he was featured on The Fate of the Furious: The Album on the song “Go Off” with Lil Uzi Vert and Travis Scott. The song was certified Gold by the RIAA. He released “Ice Tray” with Lil Yachty on December 14, 2017. The song peaked at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence
