"Oh, Marinette. Nobody has a choice in these things, especially not you." Tikki's face fell out of its warm expression, if only for the smallest fraction of a second, and Marinette was terrified to find that behind it all, Tikki's eyes were cold and dark. "He loves you because you have the earrings, Marinette. Do you really think it'd ever happen without me?"

"-But he doesn't— I haven't-"

"It doesn't matter that he doesn't know. None of that matters," Tikki clarified. The kwami went up to caress her holder's cheek. "All that matters is that you two are going to get your happy ending one day, okay? Just like I promised you."

I would like to headcanon that Marinette spends most nights talking about her failed confessions for her crush to Chat Noir, and he just straight up like:

Marinette: I tried telling him, but Alya said my plan was too elaborate for him to notice. I even placed hearts and the like! but he still didn’t get the message. 

Chat Noir: You know, I could tell you a way on how to effectively swoon his heart. All you gotta do is go up to him, ask him if he’s free then BOOM, just drag him somewhere private that the two of you can talk and then tell him you love him.

Marinette: I’ll try? thanks Chat!

Then when it actually happens...

Adrien: and why are we inside this tight spaced closet..?

Marinette: I- I HAHAHA ADRIEN - W-Would you ummmmm...you know I love- LOVE TO JUST TALK IN HIDDEN SPACES HERE.

and of course, Adrien, the oblivious baby as he is would brush it off as just Marinette being Marinette and would actually smile.
