More turtles….

Yeah some of these I’m not super duper happy about. Clothes are hard. But I had fun theorizing about them! The one most likely to have clothes change is Jennika cause… yeah. Other than Mei and Lita, designs are also viable to change.

I just wanted casual clothes :( but I had no idea what to do 8n8

So rambles about ideas under the read more!

Mei (AKA Venus)

Mei is one of the two siblings that is swept away from the turtle brothers. And she is found by Tang Shen, a zoologist (or something). Shen at first thinks Mei is just a weird weird new species, until she actually starts to mimic her, and cling to her side similar to a child.

Shen realizing this is so much more and instantly getting attached decides fuck it. Time to raise a turtle baby. She moves out to more rural areas within New York to raise Mei where she can be safe and hidden away from people who would want to hurt her. She buys a farm off a nice family and packs everything up to go.

Mei is raised sheltered underneath her mother, and is homeschooled. She loves the countryside, and it allows her to explore to her heart’s content.

She has her own collection of things she finds outside: bugs, feathers, rocks, interesting plants and sometimes the few bone fragments around.

Mei does have at least one friend. The kid(s) of the family who previously owned the land would sometime come out to the property in childish rebellion and they met one day. So she does have that at least.

They’re fascinated by her, and also she’s smart and will do their homework for free. And she’s just eager to hear about the city life and the people!

Teng isn’t the most thrilled about this. But by the time she discovers this, there isn’t much she can do to stop it. Eventually she starts dating a man named Yoshi, and yeah at first he is freaked out by the fact his girlfriend has a mutant turtle daughter. But he eventually just shrugs about it cause there’s weirder things out there.

Mei gets to meet the turtles one day, but it isn’t a sibling bond. More of a friendly bond. And she does get to go to school! Which she’s super eager about and absolutely bouncing about. Aaaaand one day she does get a younger sister when Teng and Yoshi have a daughter named Miwa.

- Why Yoshi and Teng are her parents here is because Baxter and Superfly are separated so I figured why not.

- Also making her keep the name Mei, since there’s plenty of artists named Mei and I do like it ngl.

Frida

Frida is one of the two and that is separated from the brothers, and gets the short end of the stick sort of. Similar to the brothers she gets adopted by another mutant who is mutated by touching the ooze on her.

This mutant happened to be a spider, who becomes Big Mama. Who considers eating Frida, but decided not to. For reasons I haven’t decided yet.

Big Mama does love Frida, but mostly sees her as just a source to provide her with food. And Frida knows her job from a young age to provide for mama. She’s ruthless and uncaring to anything she grabs for her Mama.

Frida gets the short end of the stick as she is very much just a tool for Mama. And has to essentially fend for herself and teach herself. She’s quiet and calculating and just surviving rather than living.

Not sure how she would meet the other turtles, but it’s kind of a shock to her seeing the contrast of how she grew up and them (and Mei). She still has that instinct to feed her Mama, but also… it’s so nice to just relax? And not have to worry about her next meal, or if her parental figure is going to devour her if she gets too hungry.

Frida either moves in with Mei and her family OR with the turtles in my hypothetical AU. She still goes and visits her Mama who is mourning her loss tbh, but it is nice to just live in a stable environment once.

I imagine once Mama has changed enough and made an actual nice living place for Frida, she does move back in. They both learn how to be a family after seeing how other mutants have worked to do the same.

- Frida is super last minute as I just recently found out about her. Also I know she’s the “Venus” of ROTTMNT, buuuuuut they had also said new characters instead. So new character route.

- She wears dark clothes more frequently than the turtles. Buuuut after a while of learning to live she becomes a color fanatic.

Lita & Jennika

Lita and Jennika are “siblings” as they’re a part of an experimental batch. An experimental batch made by T.C.R.I.. They had successfully milked the turtles of ooze, and decided to make more stock to produce more.

And thus Lita and Jennika were grabbed to provide more of this ooze aaaaaaand they didn’t grab two turtles of the same age. Lita is very much a baby, and far too young to go through that.

Jennika is the only one old enough to produce ooze without potentially dying. But she’s only one individual and can’t go through this constantly. So T.C.R.I. is just stuck in a vicious cycle of not being able to get the amount they want cause they need to let her take breaks.

Jennika is very duty oriented, because this was what she was made for. This is her job and her life purpose. Buuuuut she is soft for Lita who is just a baby. And is basically a parent to her.

They get busted out and Jennika has the hardest time adjusting to freedom. She probably bonds hard with Frida tbh. But she is the closest to become a part of the brothers dynamic. She’s just got the cool older serious sister vibes.

Which tbh she’s spent her life taking care of Frida, so she sees them and goes “is anyone gonna stop these knuckleheads” and steps in.

Lita is adopted by Splinter and Stunkbug, and tries to also be the parent of Jennika. But she’s a tad resistant to that. And absolutely stressed about her baby sister not being her responsibility.

Lita gets to grow up in a family where she isn’t encouraged to stay hidden, and isn’t a product to be produced by a big evil company.

- If Frida was last minute then these two are SUPER last minute.

- They’re together since I haven’t figured out too much tbh about either of them. Just this much.

- Lita is adopted by Splinter and is raised as his daughter. Since I kind of am not a great fan of her seeing the brothers as her dads. Idk I just don’t like it personally.

- I played with the idea of Jennika being taken in by Shredder to pay homage to her origins in comic as a foot soldier. But ehhh it felt even more clunky tbh.

- Also neither are humans since I’m not sure if MM if human-to-mutant is even a thing. But that’s down to change. And if so I will probably make Jennika at least a weird mix of human/turtle (Lita can stay turtle tho).

here's some facts ive got solidly ironed out so far:

she got mutated into a yellow-bellied slider as omage to how comic jen got mutated from a leo blood transfusion.

she was in the foot clan with young casey but managed to leave when things were getting dicey and she wanted to cut ties with the clan before marrying her girlfriend.

alas, she gets mutated before the ceremony, leading her fiancé to dump her (think fantastic 4).

this drives her to plan revenge on the baron draxum and in the process meet the other mutanimals, where she becomes the leader being the oldest (bar hob, but he barely counts-).

I’m not convinced Baxter Stockman is dead. No way they killed him off that early in the movie. Theres probably gonna be a plot twist that he’s alive somewhere as a brain in a jar.

Probably a massive jump but I’d like to see MM’s take on Renet. I really like her character and I think she’d be a great addition to the cast.

Maybe Karai?? We know Shredder is coming so them meeting Karai could be a good way to start bringing in the Foot Clan into the story. She could be a student going to their school who’s undercover secretly getting info for Shredder. Also maybe instead of April x Casey they do April x Karai 👀

FINALLY FINISHED THIS ART PIECE

I cannot tell you how much I struggled but it was soooooo worth it. This is just a little wholesome angst for my version of MM!/Tottmnt Venus. On the left is Venus holding her little sister Lita. To the right is Dr Tyler Rockwell holding Venus (og post that explains story right here). I don’t know why I keep doing this trend of posting more stuff about these characters when I make artwork of them but I’m starting to think about starting another MM!/Tottmnt au after Difference Between the Appearance. So ignoring that random info dump. Here’s my opinion on how Venus acts like and what her relationship with each of the boys is like:

Her Personality: Venus is a very very very very VERY weird girl. Not like creepy wolf girl weird but like Luz(Owl House) and Marcy(Amphibia) weird. She doesn’t find disgust in the casual weird creatures she meets when her and brothers are getting into shenanigans. Part of this is formed because she was raised around yokai but it’s mainly because she tends to lean towards the bright side of things in very “Welp at least it’s not completely hideous” kind of attitude. But other than that she’s just your usual dorky K-pop loving artistic teenage girl(scratch that there is absolutely nothing normal about this chi overpowered weirdo of a turtle mutant . . . but she is a fellow kpop fan). But one thing that is definitely most unique about Vee that’s sets her apart from her brothers and Jennika is that she is very proud of and comfortable with being a mutant. She doesn’t care if society doesn’t think it’s ideal. She don’t care about society’s ideals period. If it means she gets to live as her true self, which was usually being shunned and forcefully molded into something different by Big Mama, she won’t mind being rejected or called weird. This concept is something that she has raised Lita in and she usually tries to get her fellow turtle mutants to understand as she is confused why they want to be normal instead of themselves.

Vee is a hug friend/family first make sure they’re ok later kind of gal. If you’re someone she cares about deeply and something goes down, she will immediately attack you with a bear hug. She is usually very physical about her affection towards others but can also be somewhat wise when it comes to self worth and personal issues that may be affecting them. But don’t mistake her for her huggable demeanor. If you mess with her or anyone she cares about, you are dead in the water and about to get your butt whupped sooo bad. She can be short tempered with enemies but patient with allies and people in pain who she understands far too well.

PS: Venus and the main turtles don’t become siblings immediately. Though she does live with them for a while she is not officially their sister until Splinter adopts her and Lita(which would happen a month or two after Vee and Splinter meet and Splinter trains her to join his sons in battle).

Anywho now for her relationship with her bros:

OJ and Arctic Blitz Gatorade: Venus and Mikey tend to be the batshit crazy duo. Always think of new crackhead ideas that their siblings could never begin to comprehend. One would stand on the other’s shoulders as they would try and reach for a vent to escape or just to snag the last pop-tart. Though Venus will tend to be a little more mature and aware of when things are getting too serious for jokes and games. They’re the 2 silly goobers of the group giving enemies nicknames. Mikey is actually the one who came up with the nickname Vee when they first met and in response Vee deemed him as Miguel. Speaking of when they met Mikey completely ignored the fact of how weird it was that they met another turtle mutant and immediately threw his trust into her hands and tried to get to her know her as much as he could. They also both try to avoid fighting the most and try to end matter’s peacefully or with a good joke.

Tech and Turquoise: Donnie and Venus probably have the closest relationship with each other out of all the brothers. They are an unstoppable in sync duo on the battlefield. Yet also a peculiar combo. Technology a passion based on logic and strict reasoning and Chi the free flow of life with no boundaries and no clear explanation. Vee opens up to Dee more than she does with anyone(even Leo) and Dee does the same(similarly to how he does with Mikey). When they first met, Dee was the one who pried the most into her past and her life as he had noticed her wounds and scars first. They both love kpop, in different ways, but it still gives Donnie someone to info dump with who will actually understand what he’s talking about. They are definitely the most sarcastic of the group and will eat you up and roast you dry if they can and whenever you dare think about trying it.

Red Fire meets Blue Fire: Raph is the must reluctant to connect with Venus considering she’s technically Big Mama’s niece. When they first met Raph drilled her with questions whenever she messed up the facade she created to protect them from Big Mama. Raph tries to ignore her interactions with him as an attempt to prepare himself for another betrayal. Once Vee finally tells the whole true story of her harsh past, he feels even more conflicted feeling sympathy for her pain. When they do eventually work out their problems Vee and Raph are the sibling duo who tease each the most but still care about each other in the end. Kind of like Luz and Hunter(Owl House). Raph and Venus are also the most short tempered of the group.

2 Shades of Blue 1 Little Sis and 1 Big Bro: Leo is the one who is the most gentle with Venus. He worries his head off about her pain after she reveals how badly she had been beaten down and then shoved back up again. She appreciates it of course but hates how much of a hypocrite he is when he calls her out for saying it’s fine after erupting like a teal volcano of chi. They hold each other up when they reach there low points. Leo always insists that he helps Vee get home after using her chi in battle for fear of her overwhelming her body(which happens quite frequently when she strains herself). And Vee always immediately swoops in and hugs her big bro when he gets upset and needs to just let it all out.

(P.S. When the boys tell her that Leo has a crush on April, Venus thinks it is the most adorable thing ever and starts cooing at her big bro immediately, causing his brothers to tease him for being adorable😜(same thing when she finds out Rasey get together))

I know different dimensions is literally the canon explanation, but. It would be fun if different iterations of tmnt were just each characters’ memories. They just all emphasize different things and get names and events kinda (or extremely) mixed up. And Casey, who was at first a victim of the confusion, takes it upon himself to add random details just to confuse everyone else more.

Donnie: I once brainwashed all of my brothers so they’d act more like me. I had to undo it because it backfired. Thankfully they never found out, that means in a pinch it’s still on the table 😈

Casey: Was that before or after you got banned from Witch Town?

Raphael: I wish something would happen. Like that time that cow got stolen in Northampton and we tracked down the baddies, or when that alien lady fighting the dictator dropped in.

Casey: Or when you got the mutagen sucked out of you by that giant leech and you had to suck it back in.

Raphael: I don’t remember that?

Casey: Ah, did the guys never tell you?

April: the guys are so forgetful with people, they don’t even remember Jennika? She was with them all the time? And Harold was practically a second father to Donnie but he never talks about him.

April: they have a sister?!

Casey: oh yeah, you know the teal turtle with mind powers? Well, technically she used to be a frog.

Because I’m kinda curious how Jennika + IDW Turtles would react to seeing their counterparts

Other than MM, I do not plan on adding any more of the turtles unless it's in a spin off and someone holds my hand through it.

But if I were to hazard a guess; IDW turtles will quickly take the mantle of most traumatized turtles, no doubt horrifying everyone else each time one of them appear in the trauma dumping channel.

IDW talking about what they went through when they finally feel comfortable, Ronin probably seeing his own father in the IDW Splinter. Him and IDW Mikey probably have a lot of choice words to say about their rat dads during his more...morally dubious moments.

Team Cope will get to keep their name but like IDW turtles will probably be like...Team Trauma™ or I Lived, Bitch asdkjasdas

Jennika would probably feel out of place, considering there is no iteration of her. Not to mention she'd be the only human turned mutant on the server. But they're all friendly enough that she sticks around.

Where would u place Rise Raph? Lke, 4th maybe? I know u did a list ranking Raphs (and Leos too), but I don't know remember where you placed him.

Also, what ask were u talking about that u sent Pumpkinpie that talked about IDW Raph, and/or IDW Raph x Alopex? I tried to find it, but I didn't.

I do admit I still love IDW Raph, IDW Alopex and that ship (I also love IDW Casey still, I know pumpkinpie doesn't like him as much anymore), but I get why people may not like them and/or that ship anymore. Tbh, I actually (probably) like Leo with Alopex more. Not nesscarily shipping them, but just them together. Because I love both characters, and they got an interesting and tragic history together (i.e.; both of being traumitized by Shredder and/or Kitsune), and so I really like stuff with them. And I am still hoping we get more good canon IDW stuff with them. As well; as more fan stuff w/ them. Raph with Alopex and/or x Alopex is still fine and/or cool though.

Poor IDW Raph being placed last by u now. I do prefer IDW Leo and Mikey myself too. Like, Leo is my favorite, then Mikey is up there too. And Donnie and Raph were basically tied for me (though sometimes one would be over the other), and sometimes tied with Mikey. Anyways, I love all of them. But IDW Leo; wow. And IDW Mikey. I have other favorites/loves in IDW too. Like Karai, Koya, Jennika, Venus, etc., etc. But among the main 4 turtles it is Leo. Then Mikey. And just in general, Leo is my top favorite (yes, I am biased for Leo, I won't deny this. So ofc I love him so much. But Leo is geninuely so great in IDW). And Mikey (Mikey is also so good too) is also still really up there too. In that case. But I do still love IDW; he is a complicated boi (too/as well). And I don't think I would place IDW Raph in my top 3 or at least Top 2 for Raphs, but I don't think I would place him low, and defin. not last. However; if you do, that is totally fine though. DIfferent opinoins and stuff. I am curious to understand a bit more why u decided to put him in dead last for ur ranking of Raphs.

(Also; thank you for answering my ships question(s)! I am happy u love 2012 Leopril and Caseynardo so much too! And that u are liking MM Leopril so far. I hadn't really thought about Rise Cass x Leo that much. Though yesssss, I think they would/could have been really close in the Bad Future Timeline. Romanctically or not. And I think they could have/can have some fun, interesting potential in the present too. Just generally. Not just romantically. I was surprised to see u talk about Rise Leo x April too. Honestly, I think that relationship is very underrated. Both as a ship or not. Like, I love Rise April x Donnie too and their relationship in general, but I really do like Rise Leo and April and/or Rise Leo x April (I am putting both for these things, because sometimes I just like their relationship in general. And it doesn't have to be romantic. Or it could be romantic and/or become romantic), and I think it is really underrated. Esp./Even more compared with Rise April and Donnie and/or Rise Apriltello (I still love them too though).

Also; yes, yes I love Caprilnardo. I love both April x Leo x Casey and April x Casey x Donnie myself. :)

The Raph ranking

Honestly those two ranking lists I did I consider them outdated. Because I'm gonna admit with full shame that uhhhhhh- I didn't watch ALL of the TMNTs and there are some TMNTs I still haven't finished. So I find my old post more based on things I heard, red or the clips I saw. I will remake them when I see a good handful of TMNT.

Now onto Rise Raph, possibly 4th or 5th. Like said, 90s Raph is coming up. Plus as much as I love Rise Raph and how much focus he got, I really wish we saw more of him having like emotional damage or something and the reason why he is struggling being the leader is because he is incapable of controlling his emotions and there are many things that he lacks. I still love him in the finale and his character development and what we got from him. I just wish we got more but oh well, I'll take what we have gotten and what we will get later if the show comes back.

About the ask and IDW Raph

Sadly I'm having a hard time finding the ask. BUT. I have a big reason I dislike Raph x Alopex and why I no longer like IDW Raph. For the longest time I thought she was 2 years or so older then him and they met when she was at least an adult and Raph was also close to being an adult.

BUT THEN I FOUND OUT ALOPEX WAS 12 WHEN SHE MET RAPH WHO WAS 16 AT THAT TIME.

I did a bit of research and it's illegal and weird for a 16 year old to date a 12 year old. I wouldn't have cared if they had that age gap as adults but knowing that that is not the case makes me feel gross. I thought Next Mutation Raph sucked but now they share the same spot. Also Emily mentioned how Raph gets worse as the comics go on.

I don't know much about IDW so this opinion of mine comes from what I have learned and found out about.

Now to a bit more light hearted. I do enjoy and love IDW, even though I haven't red any of the actual comics or got them. I know quite some stuff like for example the things you mentioned.

I LOVE Leo and Mikey. My favorite ones! Leo's brainwashing was upsetting and blatant emotional damage, and Mikey MAN. He's my 2nd favorite Mikey right next to Ronnin Mikey. Just DAMN. He wasn't a coward and stood up to Splinter and basically told him to shut his mouth. MIKEY!! MY MAN IS AMAZING!

Also I will forever love Jennika and Venus. This comic series gave justice to Venus and brought back a character that deserved better. I will forever love both of these beautiful gals. Jenny is awesome and so is Vee Vee.

Now onto that last part, No problem! :3 Also I kind of decided that after I posted my answer I changed my mind. Rise Aprilnardo gets a 9/10 for me. It's close to 10 very close. AND YES IT'S UNDERRATED!!! Also i'm surprised to find a Rise Apritello shipper awh man.

Also like mentioned at the start, ANOTHER CAPRITELLO AND CAPRILANRDO SHIPPER YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Alright threw this up real quick- Venus if she were to appear in MM TMNT. I wanted to make another one where she got to have accessories but I was getting a bit tired. Maybe another time

She’s supposed to be doing a thumbs up, and referenced off this image of her

Also I guess I could ramble about her for a second and how I would take her character

So first and easiest solution is that she isn’t a fifth turtle. It just doesn’t really make sense, and also how would Splinter just forget a turtle?

How would he get in contact with someone later who found the turtle and just go “Eh alright you can keep it I guess :)” nah my man Splinter ain’t about that.

One option is to have her be human who was mutated into a turtle mutant, but that’s too similar to Jennika now.

The other option is to have I guess an older turtle that isn’t Y’know a baby mutated. Since a lot of mutants in the franchise are adults already when mutated. We can say that Mei (as I would call her and keep her name) was let’s say already a couple years old and when transmuted became a teenage mutant turtle. Or at the time Kid Mutant Turtle not sure when she’s be mutated.

Keep her the same age as the brothers though, just for simplicity sakes.

How would their relationship be. Well maybe controversial, but I wouldn’t make her a sister to them. I kind of imagine her more of taking a cousin type role in the family. Which this makes them family still but also keeps the idea of her becoming a love interest far away.

Idea for her is that she’s uhh a spirit kid. Basically similar to her og self with magic. I liked that she was the anti-Donnie, and feel like that’s where she shined in the show other then being the girl.
