GUYS A NEW MERMAID MELODY OC???

Anyway her name is Tomei! She’s Rina’s successor.

I wanted all the successors to be different than their predecessors. Tomei is especially different bc of her more outgoing, bubbly and girlish personality. Tomei whole thing is that she wants a romance with a surfer like Luchia had. She even copied the pigtails. She's incredibly pushy and stubborn, Hanon if you will, and get very aggressive when things dont go her way. She's more of a comedic character but she does have depth.

Sometimes I wish Mikaru wasn't reborn as a kid but instead came back with Aqua Regina healing her or something, and just... idk, have Mikaru start therapy and be in a healthy enviroment, making friends and being happier in the last episode after a one-year timeskip. Just working through it, navigating new possibilities, understanding she's not alone and having a supportive group of friends. I would've loved a friendship with Lucia instead of that messy rival thing.

Okay so Mermaid Melody Aqua made me really angry so I made fan versions of Luchia and Kaito's kids:

Rikka is the popular at school older sister, she is most like her father. She got into surfing because of her dad and really enjoys it.

Hikaru is the younger brother. Aloof but has a softer side to him. He is absolutely a momma's boy. He plays piano and is a hobbyist composer.

Another thing to note is that they both know they are half merfolk. Do they know they are Panthalassan? Yes.

How does Rikka surf without becoming a mermaid in public? Imma have to get back to you on that one-

So I’m back at it again with the mermaid melody content nobody asked for! 🤪 This time it’s Rukia, the uh not so aptly named daughter of Luchia and Kaito. We’ve had her designs for a day and I wanted to take stab at trying to imagine what she would look like. This is the result!

Image #1: Rukia Nanami (because of course that would be her last name)

She is the carbon copy of her mother from her hair straight down her coloring, inheriting nothing from Kaito.

Image 2#: Lucy Domouto (I’m changing her name because I dislike the name she was given).

I played around with some colors and Rukia’s design from the manga panels. I wanted to try and make Rukia look more like Kaito. If this girl is going to be a clone of her mother, in terms of looks, then she should have more of her father’s coloring. That’s if we aren’t assuming Rukia that was born via asexual reproduction through the Pink Pearl of the North Pacific.
