A well-known leaker with a noteworthy track record has further elaborated on his quite intriguing predictions regarding Apple's upcoming 2022 MacBook Air upgrade, which will supposedly feature unusual bezels in an off-white type of color, a considerable display upgrade but also an increased starting price.

The rumor mill never stands still. Only a few days after Apple has officially launched its new MacBook Pro laptops with the high-performing M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, leakers have already set their sight on 2022 and the much anticipated update to the lower cost MacBook Air, which was last updated in November of last year and could now mark a return to the original and simpler name, the MacBook.

Leaker dylandkt, who apparently has a fairly decent track record according to an article by MacRumors, expects that the 2022 MacBook Air will feature the second generation of Apple's self-developed chips, which will be called the M2, and could also be equipped with a mini LED display. The laptop will further receive a more practical yet thin and light design with full sized function keys and a MagSafe port, which has also made its comeback in the new MacBook Pro models. However, unlike its more expensive counterparts, the 2022 MacBook Air will only have additional USB-C ports while lacking an HDMI port and an SD card slot.

He further believes that the 2022 MacBook Air will have bezels and a keyboard colored in off-white, and that there will be color options reminiscent of the current Apple iMac. Dylan further claims that the new MacBook Air will have an improved 1080p webcam, no fans and that the notebook will get a higher entry price and ship with a 30W power adaptor. Although he cannot confirm the existence of a notch on the 2022 MacBook Air, previous rumors have already suggested that the more affordable Apple laptop will inherit the controversial design choice from the 2021 MacBook Pro (preorder from US$1,999 on Amazon).
