Marik Ishtar's Egyptian Armbands from YuGiOh

Sims 3 Version

The next item of YuGiOh content I've created for the Sims under the creator name SallyCompaq122 are the metal armbands worn by Marik Isthar, Ishizu Ishtar and most of the ancient Egyptian characters in the series.

This was my second accessory with morph states, and after a few adjustments, my add-on for Blender was once again helpful in keeping my morphs from exploding… that is, until I tested my accessories together in the game. Ah, life…

It turns out that while this item is good to go, the Egyptian Choker I already released has some problems I'll be programming to fix so that the morphs no longer interact with each other. In the meantime, enjoy them separately!

These armbands are base-game compatible and work for male and female sims of all ages.

The level of detail is optimized so as not to slow down your game.

There is one recolorable channel and 8 lovely presets color-matched to precious metals and other metals historically used in jewelry.

SIMS 4 MOD MALWARE

This isn't what I usually post about, but theres been malware from sims 4 mods. Specifiallly from mods hosted onCurseforge, TheSimsResource, and ModTheSims. It's a lot like the Minecraft Fractureiser virus. The downloaded mod's contain .EXE files that steal personal data and harm computers. The current known infected mods:

I'm horrible at explaining but please go check out this post on reddit, run an anti-virus scan if you downloaded any recent sims 4 mods, and perhaps join the sims after dark discord server.

Warning: Avoid Mod the Sims Forums

So, this has got to be the weirdest, most embarrassing turn of events for me, but I had to get this off my chest.

I've been on Mod the Sims forever. It's been the most helpful place I've ever been to in terms of troubleshooting issues, particularly with Create a World. Because of this, I am hugely indebted to the site and the amazing tutorials and advice that still continues to be a treasure trove to this day.

But as of 2024, I can't recommend the forums anymore. It's weird, because in the wake of EA announcing that it was closing the official forums for Sims 3, I was recommending making a jump to Mod the Sims. The reason why is that it has great regulars who are the most knowledgeable of the sims community, and the forum software is great.

However, I wound up with egg on my face. No sooner was I encouraging people to jump to the MTS forums, they became the epicenter of tons of drama because of several troublemakers creating chaos there. I won't go into too much detail about Problem Poster #1, because apparently, it's not politically correct to complain about someone who might genuinely be mentally disabled.

Problem Poster #2 was a straight up psycho, getting triggered because she got a dislike on her posts, which always happens at MTS. (Even the two popular regulars/retired mods at MTS have gotten downvotes.) She then started baiting posters by accusing anyone who disagreed with her about Sims 3 or Paralives as "working for EA/Paralives."

One thing led to another and her posts became increasingly incoherent, practically screaming with rage and throwing out paranoid accusations that people were "watching her", that the forum was full of "jealous bitches" and "whores."

No amount of reassuring her that nothing was going on could calm her down and that everyone gets dislikes. If anything, the more people talked to her, the crazier she got. Naturally, with someone making a spectacle of themselves, this brought even more dislikes (because you know how it goes when someone makes a mountain out of a molehill).

By Day Three of her irrational, crazed rampage, she was cackling about how the dwindling of dislikes was "proof" that blocking people showed that there was a group of "jealous bitches" following her, when the reality is that people had stopped wasting time with dislikes and were just reporting her to get banned. Then she started attacking me, calling me a bitch repeatedly, accusing me of "starting it" and stalking her for three days.

Instead of banning her, the admins at MTS didn't. They merely removed the posts where she went full blown Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs and let her more rational posts stand to just pretend that none of this happened.

Then they allowed her to pretty much remain, with the illusion that she's a pinnacle of the community. But if you see the posts that the admins left standing to make her look rational, you can nevertheless see the signs of when she started to mentally unravel.

This is not even the first time this type of thing has happened, not just to me, but to another poster. I remember there being drama last year when a poster got a temporary suspension for supposedly being racist against Asians, when she was Asian herself.

So, that was it for me. I've been an active member of MTS since 2012, both as someone seeking advice, but also someone wanting to give back to the forum out of gratitude for all the help it had given me. I even gave a shout out to the forum in my latest world and posted links to it from my website. I don't know if the people who own and run the site have changed hands or just stopped giving a fuck in the wake of the pandemic or dwindling visitors and ad revenue, but I won't be posting at MTS anymore and I don't recommend the forums to anyone. When you allow an unhinged person to go off and then "cover their tracks," I can only imagine what other horrible, nasty things that posters have said that were also hidden from view.

Ravasheen's Peg to Differ 2.0 set recolored in Maxis Match Wood

I was annoyed that the Peg to Differ set didn't come in wood swatches for my more homey-looking builds (I do love my warm wood tones lol), so I decided to recolor it myself. These all work as normal with the original Peg to Differ 2.0 set, its addons, and vice-versa.

This is my first ever recolor set, and it was surprisingly difficult. I used Silverhammersims' Maxis Match Wood palette and used the wood grain texture that it came with.

The .zip folder contains a total of 9 recolored items from the original set, including 4 pegboards in different sizes, 3 shelves, a double cubby, and a calendar. Each item has all 15 of the wood colors from the Maxis Match Wood palette, while the calendar has an additional 15.

So I'm sure you're all wondering how Nicky has been eating and bathing since she has nothing at home aside from a sleeping bag and a bike.

Well, for eating, she's surviving by mooching food off of kind strangers. And for bathing...

Nicky: Geez, can I get a little privacy here?!

The unrestricted sponge bath mod by Mikey has been an enormous help. Now any Sim, not just slobs and inappropriate Sims, can bathe themselves in public restrooms.

Now we just have to hope nobody visiting the park walks in without knocking.

YOU GUYS I JUST DISCOVERED THE MOST INSANE WONDERFUL MOD.

I was searching for some little romance mods to slightly tweak the way that interactions go down in my game -- nothing crazy like Insiminator or ACR, just changing jealousy, finding ways to expand your options for ~private time~ with your partner in a dorm, etc. And I found this WONDERFUL mod by Honeywell over on ModTheSims that's an OMSP that allows sims to use a single bed like a loveseat! For making out For watching TV, of course!

Look at Jane. She is LOUNGING on her bed! You'll notice that the OMSP just looks like a tiiiiiny little heart pillow, which I think is adorable. I had to orient it weird with how her bed is facing, so the pillows are at the foot of the bed instead of the head, but I just made it look like a little stuffed animal pile!

Here's a better view of it on Allegra's bed. Best of all, the recolors match ALL of the maxis bedding and any custom bedding you have in your game! There's an invisible recolor, but I find it really hard to select that in game, so I'll be keeping the cute lil heart pillows.

Imagine the possibilities yall. A table. THE FLOOR. Can sims make out on the floor already?

The next item of YuGiOh content I've created for the Sims under the creator name SallyCompaq122 is Marik Ishtar's distinctive choker necklace.

This was my first time creating an accessory that involved complex bone assignment and morph states, so there was a pretty steep learning curve. I even had to develop an add-on for Blender to get the morphs to stop exploding!

I never really had an opinion on this half wall as it was in Sims 2 until I started playing Ts2 again due to lack of internet (Thanks Hurricane). It's an interesting looking piece that can really be used in or outdoors and I quite like that. I decided I wanted to enjoy it in Sims 3 as well, so here we are. I remade the textures completely to work best in Sims 3. I also attempted to recreate the colours from the Sims 2 version as best as I could. NOTE: I do want to notate that Sims 3 has a problem with presets on half walls. Selecting a preset from the catalog tended to just default it to the main preset. I'm unsure if there's a way to fix this or if it's hard coded that halfwalls don't show/utilize presets from the catalog, but just putting that out there. I also notice that the thumbnails for the walls break and don't show the actual presets. I've tried to fix it, but it's just not something I know how to fix. Workaround is to simply enter CAST on the half wall and select the preset you wish to use. Name: Werknothom Half Wall Description: Too much wall makes a room boxy.
