Spring - Year 3
Justice comes ashore on the side of Isol Isle opposite his family's home.

After securing his windsurf board on the beach, he heads further inland on the small island where fruit trees dominate the scape.

I don't know if I said this already, but since getting back into this game I've done a mass renovation of all of my harvestable lots. I've filled out some with more plants, so that they look more natural and realistic. I've also incorporated harvestable plants on other lots, like the wood gathering lots, the beaches and parks where the family takes leisure days. I've created new lots, so that the gathering spots are more scattered across the entire landscape. Finally, after all of this, I've demolished some old lots after the previously mentioned updates made them obsolete.
Unlike my other saves, I very rarely take shots just to showcase builds in Isolation, so I'll just try to mention when a scene takes place in an updated/new location and maybe touch on what I did.

Anywho, closer to home, Assiduous returns to Poppa Shocc's workshop after solo adventuring for metals and jewels.

As the child puts away the materials, Shocc works diligently inside. I'm pretty sure he is still making the required states for the fishing hut, which will be an expanse of the port where the family houseboat is docked.

Assiduous makes herself comfortable out front before doing her school work.

Once her written work is completed, Shocc tasks her with cutting jewels that have been stored up at the shop. I don't know if I mentioned this either, but I use gem dust as nails for my builds, so Assiduous' work contributes to the fishing hut build.

As an aside, I've expanded my adds to @danjaley's Banished Challenge rules and typed them up in a doc file. If I remember and have the energy I will post them here.

Thank you, dearest @danjaley! You sure know how to challenge me, because in my story of realism, magic is a fantasy! However, I'll give it a go, for my most magic-minded girl: Jill!

Magic :: In a magic series or not, are they accepting, or is each instance a shock?
I picked Jill because out of everyone, she's the one most likely to be full on accepting of anything magical. Jill secretely believes magic exists. She loves reading fantasy books and swears she once saw a unicorn from afar. What do you mean, 'it was probably just a horse?' You sound just like Sarah. It definitely was a unicorn. Jill believes that when you lose an eyelash and blow it away while making a wish, that wish will absolutely come true. If it didn't, you either did it wrong, or your wish was too ridiculous. Jill would love to have a magic power and would probably like the power of invisibility the most. Jill likes to find out people's secrets, and if she could become invisible whenever she wanted, that would help a lot!

More Veronaville
As I mentioned before, I had some routing issues with the original Veronaville, and since danjaley used Riverview as her basis for her town, I downloaded an empty version from Mod the Sims and have been using it.
Anyway, I finished up the "industrial" side today. Go, me!

I decided to use the hospital from that Supernatural ep, since it looks old and has the added bonus of being a dual rabbithole.

I left the diner pretty much as it was, with the exception that I changed the sidewalk paving to the same one I'm using throughout the town. Next door was the business lot, but I already have one on the island, so I built a small firehouse here. The Monty's footed the bill for its construction, since cheapo Consort Capp didn't see any sense in wasting simoleons on one. As he told everyone in town, "Our ancestors managed quite well without one! You younger sims are just a bunch of crybabies."

Next to the criminal hideout, I bulldozed the pool EA had there, and placed a water treatment plant that I got from Mod the Sims. (It's still zoned as a pool). The place has "No swimming!" signs posted, but sims still climb over the fence and swim here. Then complain when they break out in rashes. As Consort Capp likes to say, "You can't fix stupid, and the Montys are all really, really stupid," since the medical board - at the last town meeting - complained that the ER has been overflowing with sims covered in rashes and they want more simoleons to cover the added cost of hiring more staff to treat them. What Consort doesn't know is that his grandson has been treated three times.

Across the street is where I was going to place danjaley's Globe Street strip mall. This was where EA had their science facility. Unfortunately, her lot was a bit too big for the spot. So, in my town history, there was a Globe mall here, but it was 'mysteriously' destroyed by a fire - even though it was right across the street from the firehouse - that Consort Capp didn't want. They didn't get there in time to put out the fire, because at the time the fire was blazing out of control, they got 6 other calls from the opposite side of town. Anyway, the previous Globe strip was owned by the Monty family, but after it was destroyed, they couldn't get the necessary permits to rebuild - thanks to the Capps. So, they were forced to sell - at a loss. What they didn't know was that Consort Capp bought the property - for a song - through a proxy buyer. Anyway, since the original description of danjaley's lot said it was the place to go for entertainment, I decided to place a bowling alley there. The building came from My Sim Realty. I just expanded it a bit. And in the parking lot - where there are no parking spaces - I placed Sandy's roller skating object, so my sims can roller skate outside.

In the original build, the roller skating thingie was inside, but since I didn't need it, I replaced it with the ice skating one. Upstairs are some video games.
Anyway, that section of town is now done, since I left the 'festival' lot as is.

Moving back to the Elgus family, Hand Servant Peter and his wife Marjory are hoping to increase their family too. Peter is a very attentive husband to his somewhat overbearing wife. He is smitten, and she knows it.

4t3 Conversion of HLS' Rose's Breakfast Dress
A 4t3 conversion of a gorgeous dress worn by Rose in the movie Titanic, made originally by HappyLifeSims, now to ts3!
This is one took a looot of work because it involves everything ts3 hates (detailed textures, transparency...), but thankfully I got through it haha!
Also it is my 18th birthday today, but here's my little gift to you lol! Hope you like it! Enjoy! <3

Known Problems:
The lace parts may clip sometimes with the skirt or the arms (which are underneath and also have textures applied), but I minimized them a lot!

NOTES:
For this dress, you have to use the invisible feet mesh or the basegame barefoot mesh because I wanted to use the most UV space I could since the textures are very detailed. You can’t see the feet/shoes anyway, and it also prevents some usual clipping! Get the invisible feet mesh here, by @danjaley!
You’ll notice that there are two packages when you download the zip file: one is the actual dress, and the other one is an overlay/color mix acc, which you can find on the socks category. It recolors the little flowers, as you can see on the preview. Without it the flowers only have a solid color, so you need to use the acc for it to look good! Both have the same thumbnail!

Store Pocketed Dress and Stockings, as top for children
ETA: just noticed that Danjaley also made a top-only version of this 😅 Oh well, not the first time I've done a project that already existed, haha.
It's been awhile! To get back into the groove of things, here is a separated dress from a Store outfit, now available as just a top. Some wider pants will clip in more exaggerated poses (like on the ginger sim), and the basegame skirt with pockets definitely clips, but most bottoms will be OK since I also made the bottom part of the top/dress flare out a bit more.
For child females. Everyday, Formal, Outerwear, valid for Random.

FroAnhke staying inside makes Ru's usual work light weight.

Already she's made a second meal, completing another of his daily tasks for him.
To be honest, I'm no longer sure if she was staying in because I was trying out a day off, unsure really what to do with her anymore, or because she was completing a writing want.

Regardless, like me, sim FroAnhke has a difficult time relaxing. This is especially true in a less than neat environment. She not only cleans up the dishes after finishing her meal, but she also washes a load of clothes and mops the floor upstairs.

With her tending to the home, Ru feels free to spend more time in his garden. There he enjoys harvesting and tending to his bees more than he would if his work partner was one of the children.

I think I need to chuck a bunch of harvestables in this game. Because I have them stored in chest-like items, they don't go bad and then I end up with such a surplus that neither Trovinte nor FroAnhke have as much to do. Since there's a new household on the island I'm thinking I will take a forth of the food items out and give them to the new folks (I don't know what to do about the alchemy stuff just yet), and maybe I'll do this with each new household until I'm forced to make another root cellar. I should note that I've always imagined the root cellar would eventually become a community resource as oppose to just a household one, much like the public baths at my herbalist hut. Initially, because I still haven't found an effective way to prevent the pet adoption person from spawning and do have some animal settings active, I locked certain lots off to just my main household. I thought I would eventually authorize the new people in the lock system I'm using, but I hate it when the non-playables wonder to places I didn't authorize, lol.
Going back to the new households bit, I haven't really thought about how to handle things when the children want families and households of their own. I realize that @danjaley's Banished Challenge itself is about populating an unpopulated world, but I wasn't really doing the challenge as much as I was applying some of the rules to make this save more challenging. I honestly never expected this to last this long. I started it as a distraction from Resistance, and then I never went back to that save and was only eager to return to this one. Anyways, I'm kind of realizing I don't know what I'm doing anymore and that's made game play a little anxiety inducing. I'm sure I'll figure something out, and will likely enjoy the figuring out, it's just right now I feel like I'm in limbo and still taking way more pictures because the children won't be children for very long.

Veronaville - part 2
This next lot, that was created by danjaley, is called the Folio Library.

I didn't really do anything to the outside, but I did make some changes inside.

The biggest one was to this room. When you open the lot, it's an empty space. I decided to make it into a computer room. Mostly because 1) I hate wasted space and 2) I never give my sims any skill items - apart from a basic bookcase - until they have earned at least 5 skill points. Which means my writer sims need someplace to go to get those skills - and to write the Great Sim novel.

The rest of the 2nd floor has 2 game rooms - one for chess and the other for that 4-sim game (I forget what it's called). And 2 reading rooms.

On the ground level I made some more changes. I made a kid room for the littles and added Arsil's generic role desk in the main lobby, so that I can assign a proper librarian to the lot. I'll probably go back into this lot and redo the bathroom she made. Maybe make it into 2 separate ones. And add more chairs to that 2nd reading room upstairs. Looking at pictures give you some perspective, and helps you see what you could do better.

In the 2 seating areas here, I changed the curtains to some that are remakes of Sims 2 ones, added rugs and lighting, and a few extra chairs and that was it.

Next door, I bulldozed the lot that was there and used the Wright Reading Room remake by my friend Tedhi. Since I already have a really nice library, I converted her build into my new business rabbithole. I had planned on using the one from Monte Vista - Simcatti Industries - but it was too big for the space. Anyway, I like this one better.

I made the basement of her build my new news agency. Basically all I had to do was delete a bunch of bookcases.

The upstairs level is my business office area. I still have more work to do on this lot, but it's also where I placed the rabbithole rug. (Her's was the building in a basement). Again, I basically just deleted all the bookcases.

And this was danjaley's city hall build. I did make a few minor changes to the parking areas and added the podium at the top of the stairs so my wind-bag politicians can lie to their supporters, but basically, it's the way she built it.

❤️ Ode to the pose creators ❤️
I suddenly felt the need to create a little appreciation post, so here goes.
I used to be a gameplay-based Simmer. I played my game, took pictures, and told the story based on those. I hardly ever posed my Sims, unless it was to have their picture taken. In fact, I even had a "no poses policy". I said several times I didn't want to pose my Sims, because it wouldn't feel real, it'd be like moving statues.
But things changed, and more and more, storytelling became my base. Slowly but surely, I found that poses helped me tell the story the way I wanted to.
Now, I can't do without poses anymore. I think story updates are now at least 75% posed. Few things bring me greater joy than finding that one pose that perfectly expresses the feeling I felt when writing.
Am I moving statues? Technically, yes. But does it feel like I am? Absolutely not. Quite the opposite, actually; my characters never felt more alive to me, and neither did my story. ❤️
So this is a thank you. To all the awesome pose creators out there. I'll tag a few of my most used, but if I didn't tag you, don't feel offended; maybe I just haven't discovered you yet. And if you see this post and share my sentiments, by all means; reblog, tag your favourite pose creators!

ASHTON
The Crystal Hair [BETA] was one of the hardest pieces of CC I've ever messed around with.

FLAWS: The mesh sits HELLA awkward on the head, and the clipping/floating through the skull in some areas is bad on some head shapes. Also, a weird texture glitch on the skull might randomly pop up in CAS, not Live Mode, and IDKY. *sigh* This is what I get for trying something different.

The Cut Crystal as Head ACC & DA2 Persuasion Maul as ACC (and Misc Decor) all have recolorable variations with a clear & opaque texture. The Nails as Earrings are self explanatory. The Cracked Rock or Glass BODY & FACE Tatts as usual REQUIRE CmarNYC's tatt mod at MTS.

I made the ATS3 Female Beanie Unisex and tweaked the textures a bit. The CR3 Chetney INSP RTA Tattoo is a regular EA tattoo.

FLAWS: For the life of me, I CANNOT fix the janky bone joints under the armpits on the Blacksmith Outfit. So...avert your eyes (or just use the regular Blacksmith Outfit with the sleeves). U_U

I was surprised by how well the Chest & Boot Wing ACCs came out, considering those were my own meshes (for once).

For the Dragon Valley Top I just retextured Danjaley's edit by tweaking the RGBY mask a bit. It's not great, but oh well. Neither is the Cape Accessory.

FEARNE
The Horns ACC is a mashup of X X X. The Stave ACC is a mashup of X X and I made the acorn glow with the ghost/plumbbot shader. IIRC the Horns and Ears ACCs have different sliders, one for the Hat Slider and one for Glasses sliders, but if I didn't do that...oops?

The Faun Outfit is a frankenmesh of the TSM corset dress @aprilrainsimblr converted and the TW3 Succubus outfit converted here. I added a few different RGB control variations as I was playing around with different options.

IMOGEN

I took the Shanty Top converted here and lowered the vest mesh as it sat too high on sims' waists, lightened the too-dark Multiplier, and made the sleeves sheer. The Suspenders and Skirt both REQUIRE the SN EP for the fat/fit morphs.
LAUDNA
I made @natalia-auditore's different accessory Bloody Hands as Body Tatts that REQUIRE CmarNYC's tatt mod at MTS, to reduce the amount of layered ACCs that cause texture blurring.

The Stylus Hair is an edit I did of Gramsims' Stylus hair (X), to add Laudna's signature white streak, fix the joints, and lower the polys a bit (it's still high though). (I used a hairline makeup for the baby hairs--IDER which one.) The Top is an edit from one of EA's, tweaking the waist mesh and changing the RBGY mask & overlays. I couldn't decide if I liked the Hammer or Pickaxe ACC, so I just threw in both.

The Left Pauldron ACC is just the left side separated from the Dragon Valley top (Camkitty's mesh edit made my life easier), same with the Mitrasi Wrist Flower ACC.
