The Purr-ice is Right: Someone posts a furry adoptable sheet with all the prices blurred out and everyone has to guess how much it sold for. A good variation is posting a lineup and having to rank the designs from most to least expensive

He Would Not Fucking Say That: Someone posts a line of dialogue from a particularly egregiously out-of-character fic (fandom specified beforehand) with all the names blacked out and the participants have to guess who said the line. Another alternative is posting an out of context line from a fic and the participants have to guess what fandom it's from

You know, no matter how insane ace attorney gets, I still don’t think they’ll top the first game in terms of sheer “??????” factor. Moving space centers and magic bracelets and made up countries and the chess dimensions are great and silly and all that, but never, EVER has an ace attorney plot point astounded me more than “ghosts are undoubtedly real but we can’t use their testimony in court because we think one of them committed perjury”

Everyone talks about how silly Ace Attorney is but only ever mentions the parrot and the Almost Christmas thing, so here’s a few highlights of insane shit that happens in Ace Attorney that I personally adore:

The famous orca defendant from Phoenix’s first case after disbarment turns out to be the secret sibling of another orca… who was also falsely accused of murder

The final case of what is widely considered one of the best games in the series involves a clown crushing the president of fantasy Hong Kong to death with a hot air balloon. The president turns out to be a body double who replaced the original president 15 years prior. This is all taken completely seriously

The inciting incident of effectively the entire series was an episode of cupcake wars that went really, REALLY poorly

The plot of the most recent mainline game is “what if defense attorneys were systematically oppressed by the government”

The main character gets hit by a car in one of the cases and walks it off. He does sprain his ankle though

Two separate characters can summon butterflies in court and make their scarves levitate. They have literally no relation to each other and this inexplicable telekinesis is never mentioned by the cast even once

A major plot point in one of the cases is someone tying a corpse to the end of a rope and then pendulum swinging them across a bridge so aggressively they get launched 30 feet into the air on the other side. This is fully animated and you get to watch it happen no less than 4 times

Ace Attorney facts from interviews that live rent free in my brain:

- Turnabout Big Top was voted in the Top 5 cases in the trilogy in a Japanese poll and is, on record, Takumi’s favorite non-finale case

- The team got yelled at for “including too many old men” which led to the creation of Mia’s character

- Takumi’s favorite character is Maya, but he has to get drunk before he can write her dialogue otherwise he gets too embarrassed

- The most requested case concept from fans is [checks notes] a.. train groping case?????

- Takumi has more trouble writing Phoenix than Edgeworth bc the prosecutor is “more unstable than the average person”

- Takumi’s headcanon is that Phoenix was training to be a Shakespearean actor in college and that’s why he’s Like That. He was in Europe studying theatre when he saw Edgeworth in the newspaper and then pivoted to law. Apparently Takumi thinks Phoenix might have been a manga artist’s assistant in college for extra money too?

- Edgeworth’s sanity is apparently hanging exclusively on his dog, who is the only living thing he can be vulnerable with. If the dog dies Edgeworth would apparently Fucking Lose It

- Phoenix thinks Edgeworth is a “pretty cute guy”

- Edgeworth’s favorite music is Korean techno / disco

- When one of the Von karmas wins a case, Manfred takes them out for karaoke

I understand why people think Manfred would be bigoted but honestly I think it would be significantly funnier if he just. Wasn’t. Someone calls him homophobic in court and he’s immediately like “I?? The great prosecutor Von Karma, blinded by the biases of lesser men? I fight only for justice and the holy fire of retribution, how dare you insinuate that I am beholden to the fallacies of the wretched” and everyone immediately tunes out his self-aggrandizement bc they’re just flabbergasted by von karma supporting gay rights

Langworth is the funniest ace attorney ship ever created bc it implies that while Kristoph and Phoenix are engaged in 7 years of psychosexual warfare, Edgeworth is off in fantasy Hong Kong getting busy with interpol’s highest ranking furry
