Hey KakaGai Community... WE CHALLENGE YOU!

Hi everyone! In an effort to revive our community a bit (and provide some much-needed joyful distraction) we are hosting a friendly competition!

Introducing the Eternal Rivals Creator Challenge!

Creators who would like to participate in this challenge can sign up HERE!

Participants will then be randomly assigned to:

Team Captain: @jvnart

Team Captain: @ficklecat

Challenge Details

Once sign ups are complete and teams are randomly assigned, we will release a list of prompts to choose from. Teams will earn points by creating KakaGai fanworks (writing or drawing) either collaboratively or separately. Points will be assigned per work, and will vary based on the length/type/intricacy of your creations. The team with the most points at the end of the challenge WINS!

The challenge will only run for a weekend, starting on Friday, May 30th and ending on Monday, June 2nd .

Team captains will monitor the below tags on TUMBLR ONLY, so please make sure you tag your posts for them to be counted in the final tally!

Official rules to the challenge will be posted separately and linked HERE, but please keep in mind that this is a friendly competition in the spirit of our favorite ship - there is no tangible prize, there are no stakes, and in the end, we all win, because more kkg art will be created :)

I actually HAVE become the arbiter of gender (I work at a second hand clothes store divided boys/girls). (it is so hard to tell what’s meant for boys versus girls) (i often just guess or put it in the less full section).

I really don't understand the US cultural moment of "smartphone bans in schools"?? Smartphones were a thing when I was in high school but we weren't allowed to have any kind of cell phone out during class. Like, teachers would snatch them and send them to the principal for you to pick up at end of day (or your parent had to get it if it was a repeat issue). I graduated in 2013, we had smartphones + most kids had their own laptops etc but it was never permitted to have them during class (I skirted rules sometimes by having a laptop for digital stuff in art class).

Teachers were trying to keep us from texting more than anything. Did school culture change in the last 10 years where students are just always on their phones in class? You don't even stealth them? We were snaking our earbuds cords thru sleeves to not get caught w tech. Yall got that fat iPhone just on the desk?? The bans just sound like what we were already doing (in backpacks/out of sight). Do students use phones in class for work or smth?

hiii do you happen to know any mods/presets/anything for male dwarves to make a character thats not butt ugly (you awakened my dao replay needs and i have never finished a dwarf origin and need to do a male aeducan run and romance zevran <3 but i cannot for the life of me make a character that does not make me want to start sobbing i just want to make a pretty boy to romance another pretty boy <3)

it takes a little work and requires you to use the toolset but all i can recommend is what i do, which is to crack open the toolset and also grab dao toolset headmorphs unlocked which will, among other things, let you edit the cheeks mouth and jaw of a bearded character so you aren’t stuck with those sunken cheeks you get as soon as you put a beard on in the CC. here’s a couple of examples of dwarf lads i made who i think look okay:

unfortunately as soon as you edit them in the CC they’ll snap to the sunken cheeks again so you can’t just use someone else’s preset and then edit the rest in-game, you have to get it how you want it in the toolset, to make a preset you can just use as it is

RULES - Eternal Rivals Creator Challenge

Below are the rules/guidelines for our challenge. Please reach out to team captains (@jvnart or @ficklecat) or send us an ask here if you have any questions that are not covered here!

ABSOLUTELY NO ABUSE, BULLYING, TROLLING, OR ANY OTHER SORT OF TOXIC BEHAVIOR WILL BE TOLERATED - this is a friendly competition with no end-game other than encouraging our community to create and have fun. Insulting or disparaging other creators in any way (including inciting discourse on or about their posts/fanworks) will result in disqualification, and depending on severity, a ban from the community.

NO REPOSTED ART - any writing or drawing used for this competition MUST be newly created, and MUST be your own; no AI creations will be counted or accepted, and any art that is reposted or stolen will result in disqualification and a ban from the community.

ADDITIONAL KKG COMMUNITY GUIDELINES APPLY - that means sensitive content must be tagged appropriately, and no incest, student/teacher, adult/child shipping will be permitted. NSFW fanworks are allowed but must also be tagged appropriately.

MUST BE KAKAGAI RELATED - other ships or characters can appear in your works, but the focus must be KakaGai. This does NOT have to be limited by your assigned team - ie, you can write Gai POV if you are on Team Kakashi, etc.

NO LATE SUBMISSIONS - unlike our other events, this challenge will not count late submissions - and yes, this applies to us procrastinating mods! All fanworks must be posted and tagged by midnight on the last day of the challenge (Monday, June 2nd).

PROMPTS CANNOT REPEAT - while you can choose any prompt you want each day, you cannot repeat prompts for your submissions; each work must be associated with only one prompt at a time, and cannot have more than one fan work for the challenge attributed to it.

BONUS PROMPTS - points for same-day bonus prompts will only be counted if the work is posted within 24 hours of the prompt announcement (Tumblr post must be time-stamped accordingly). You may complete a regular prompt on the same day you complete a bonus prompt if you wish (or if you're insane).

POINT SYSTEM - we will not be debating or accepting challenge of the point system - this is strictly for fun, the points really don't matter, please do not take this so seriously.

TEAM ASSIGNMENT - the teams are assigned randomly, and are essentially arbitrary, you cannot change teams or request a specific team. Again, teams are RANDOM, you cannot choose your team no matter how much you love Gai or Kakashi (don't worry, we know you have a favorite, we won't tell ;))

CHALLENGE WITHDRAWAL - if you wish for your work to be withdrawn from the challenge for whatever reason, please DM one of the team captains. Withdrawing your work will not result in your team losing the points contributed, but we will remove it from this blog. It is up to you to remove your own posts from Tumblr or untag the post thereafter.
