Day of the Departed/ Día de los muertos

Ever since I say the Day of the Departed episode I thought it was a lot like día de los muertos, and I’m sure a lot of cultures have their own days of remembrance for their lost & loved ones but it’s what I’ve always thought

Help keep service dogs safe!

I know I tend to post art but I’m more than just an artist. A big part of my life is my best friend who just so happens to be my assistance dog. For years I’ve trained her to help assist me in ways I cannot live life on my own. She’s successfully saved my life many times from severe panic episodes and passing out, which could lead to me hitting my head or worse. Service dog’s per the ADA law have public access rights to stores like Target… but pets do not.

Even though it’s federal law that you cannot bring a pet in to a non-pet friendly store people do it every single day. When people do this they cause access issues for the disabled and their teams, like me and my dog. How do they make it harder for real teams? When people bring untrained, non-service animals in to non-pet friendly stores these animals are under stress. Service animals go through hours upon hours of training to prepare them for the world they will help their human navigate, pets do not.

The stress caused by bringing an untrained animal leads to aggression in these pets. Not to mention the amount of health violations. I’ve been lunged at on several accounts just because people want to bring their pets in to a store.. I NEED my service dog.

I need her to keep me safe. Many many disabled individuals NEED their service dogs with them to stay safe. Bringing untrained pets in to areas they are not welcome is not only dangerous but it’s a felony.

Day 4/5/6: Fursona!

It’s so many days squished in to one.. I took up a new job this October but it’s WAYYYY too physically demanding, so I can’t keep up with the challenge that well. I’ll pick one prompt for the weekends and post on Sunday

Animals:

Cole: black bear, cuddly and strong + loves to eat food

Kai: Border Collie, loyal and cunning + hyper and competitive

Nya: Puffin, I honestly don’t know.. I feel like it fits though

Jay: Ring Tailed Lemur: again Idk, it just fits

Lloyd: Fennec Fox, hyper + intelligent.. also small

Zane: Falcon, because of his love for birds
