backstory. 

ok so basically growing up he’s only ever known his mother. his dad had skipped camp shortly after max was born only to make a very brief, drunk cameo at max’s 7th birthday party which only made max hate him more fjdhgj 

having a single mom was cool in a lot of ways !!! for example whenever they cld afford to go to theme parks they didn’t have to worry abt who had to sit with who & she let max stay up reading or playing animal crossing after he’d finished his schoolwork 

its hard parenting solo so he was always a little bit of a wild child hhg but w/ a cause !!! once a girl in his class got pushed by two boys and he kicked their asses !!! and his mom was like ..... im glad u respect women but pls i cant afford 2 bail u out of jail when u grow up 

he’s been getting in fights w/ others since he cld walk lbr hell even CRAWL

but it was also difficult in a lot of ways too. he often wore thrifted clothes or hand me downs that were barely hanging on by a thread. his mom was always busy at work and she was so exhausted by the time she came home that it physically pained max

but she always made time for him. she was so ??? selfless ??? she’d drop everything to watch his science fairs and she was always front row at his spelling bees. she never let money stop max from pursuing his hobbies. when max wanted to join baseball in middle school she worked extra shifts to pay for his equipment. 

his freshman year of high school his mom started to get rlly sick but like jhhfgsh they were a low income family w/ not so great insurance so she put it off until she absolutely couldn’t anymore and she was diagnosed with leukemia 

it was an emotional and financial strain for the both of them. he started working as well as continuing his studies. hospital bills are outrageous & the healthcare system doesn’t rlly care abt poor families u know 

before the trip the doctors announced that his mother’s leukemia was terminal and that she likely only had a year tops left. so max almost turned down coming on the trip altogether but his mom insisted and asked him to go and take pictures and call her every day so she could live vicariously through him

and she pinky promised she’d hold on until he made it back home. she probably won’t. but he can’t afford to lose her bc thats his emotional support parent the only person whos loved him even tho hes temperamental & a smartass 

he juggled school, work, parties, &  taking care of his mom.

he’s going for something in psychobiology or forensic pathology but he !!! can’t decide !!!

so shes shes a scorpio and her birthday is november 6th

BACKGROUND

“working class” upbringing despite her mother being a doctor and her father a lawyer. they were both working class before getting good jobs so they decided rory would be humbled too... she has to work for everything they still pay her tuition tho! KGDKDMGS

home schooled until she 11 then went to high school when her parents started spending less time at home and more time at work, they stopped putting in the effort with her and each other.

grew up mostly alone (with room for childhood friend plots) with only books, documentaries and fantasies of a more exciting life to keep her company!!

from high school her interests turned to crime and immediate response like she wanted success fast without working for it through a boring degree..

BACKSTORY: so . this is holland but she thinks her name is UGLY so she goes by holly 

she was born and raised in los angeles and her parents both own / run a luxury chain of rehab centers for ppl with $$$ ( u already know i want a plot involving this xx ) they are new money ! so holly really does not understand ... the spoiled lifestyle since her parents raised her pretty conciously on stories abt how they struggled as immigrants coming to a new country & making it & all that jazz

as a kid her parents would host / try to charm a lot of potential donors or clients so they’d make holly “entertain” them like as a kid she’d just be cute or maybe sing a song from chorus or just be impressively well-behaved but the older she got...the more her mom would demand from her /:

as all this was going on her parents started to have issues so instead of working it out.... holly’s dad just started traveling a whole lot to other states & countries where they had a business so growing up he wasn’t really in the picture . rip !

back to holly ! so her mom had a few close business partners and “friends” that where around holly’s family pretty much all the time and there was this one guy who was relatively younger than most of the men but still significantly older than 14 year old holly who had a huge crush. basically this man tried to take advantage of that bc hes UGLY .

one day holly’s mom caught this dude alone with holly and being way too friendly for comfort and instead of flipping on the dude she flipped on holly and was like we could lose our business and i think it’s all ur fault for causing drama” and holly was literally like What the Fuck !!! her mom cut off all ties with the dude but she still made holly feel like it was her own fault woo !!

more stuff her mom did ? yea ! one night when she was 17 she was out with this guy who had celebrity parents just eating at a nice place and drinking after and as he was driving her home, they get into a big car accident. turns out that the guy she had gone to dinner with had a coke addiction & was literally high the whole time & the only reason holly’s mom had set them up was so he’d check into their rehab center bc his famous parents were considering it but she never told holly any of that so holly was PISSED but relatively unharmed from the accident besides some bruising

basically by the time college came a bitch was ready she moved out, trying to have a fresh start away from her home life ! but college was also messy basically over the years holly developed a big dependency issue where she literally...craves attention and intimacy sososo bad bc she never got it from her family so ! she looks for it in other ppl like she needs to feel that validation so bad & she does that with really unhealthy sexual habits low key bordering addiction ! 

oh also ? since her family was never the family vacation type JSBDWJBDJ she’s never left california before so a bitch is VERY excited and if u try to make her feel bad for it . she will tell u to fuck off and let her have this !

PERSONALITY + TIDBITS: honestly one of the most sociable ppl u will ever meet she was literally raised to entertain and please so its super easy for her to make friends !! literally one of those ppl that just.....know everyone and ur like how the fuck !!! an avid social media user...are u even friends if u dont have a snap streak ? not to holly JSBDJWBDJ definitely her guilty pleasure aside from u know...sex !

because he started doing this he’s started to gain a little following because he posts pictures and videos of parties on his instagram but ian wants FAME fame give him 10mil followers on instagram and he’ll begin to be kinda satisfied

he’s sooo shallow and so stupid and all of his actions surround around his own pleasure and happiness and he’s not typically the type to go out of his way for other ppl

claire was a child model. pushed into the business by her mother looking to make a quick buck; her soft, sweet face was what kept the family afloat. and while she insists that she adores her mother, deep (deep deep deep deeeeeeeeep) down she harbors some resentment towards her.

she was able to make a deal with her mother to “retire” from modelling when she was accepted into school... though when she needs that cash money she’ll do shoots here and there xx

because modeling wasn’t what she wanted / wasn’t what she felt confident doing, being forced into it damaged her self esteem a bit. she found herself feeling more critical of herself and knit picked at every little thing.  

self care saved her from herself. though her self hatred was quiet and only internal, she knew it was damaging, she was aware enough to realize she needed help. she needed some sort of positive reform. yoga came first, then meditation, then inner peace.

while it is somewhat sincere, she hasn’t squashed all her demons. she likes herself, ish. she likes her potential, she likes who she could become, who she is one the road to becoming. she’ll get there...?????

in the meantime, she is mostly posturing a positive attitude for herself while occasionally acting out and manipulating situations to fall in her favor.

    ϟ  —   after being the quasi breadwinner for her family, her baby career keeping them comfortable, she feels compelled to provide for her friends as well. taking care of people is what she wants to do. whether it be bringing you coffee when you seem exhausted or lending an ear to irksome thoughts, she wants to be there for people. secretly, she would love it if the favor was returned from time to time.

i’m still developing Some of her background, but from a young age, she was rather creative and energetic

with two parents working in non-stem fields, her mother especially was always enthusiastic when cami too seemed more interested in the arts

she was imaginative, so much so that her in-class journal entries mirrored her ( day ) dreams more than reality — to her teacher’s slight displeasure if it strayed from a given topic — and that she immersed herself into the worlds she would create for her dolls

one of those kids who was VERY attached to their ipod when she got one, music had always been a cherished friend yet an unexplored outlet at the time

a film junkie from a young age, she also loves being able to see the worlds other people create visually and you’ll often find her watching whichever new or old release that came to mind earlier in the day — almost totally entranced, good luck getting her undivided attention in the meantime !

wasn’t the Most outgoing kid back then, but by high school she slowly became the girl who got involved in the smaller roles of student council before moving up to vp, as well as being part of the drama club and prom committee during her senior year

basically, she was destined for a social career, especially something which let her creativity flourish.. but then she applied to ucla’s engineering faculty —

SFGLJGFD to say her parents were shocked is kind of an understatement ! no one would think that she’d pursue such a field yet here she was.. going for it !

hearing many people talk about which careers were worth it financially seemed to erase her parents’ encouragement to follow her ( core ) desires, though at the time, camille genuinely thought it was a path she’d grow to like once she began to experience it — having already envisioned the ways she’d try to work around any difficulties she’d have

but come her first year, she’d realize she played herself in more ways than one

a diligent student throughout this period, she did begin to rebel a little, socializing and partying often and basically picking up from where she left off in high school with a couple of clubs. however, she could tell that she was struggling with her stem courses, while she was performing well with her required english course — and she could tell even at that point that she Fucked Up

so when she bombed a couple of those courses for her major by the end of that first year, she took a step back for a year to reanalyze her options.. and about five years later with some additional exploration into her interests, she’s on the cusp of graduating with an english major and a minor in film !

to say that she’s scared of what’s to come is Valid; so she’s glad that she can have this vacation to just relax with her friends and let the stress roll off her shoulders for the time being. and being able to let her inner world-class traveler finally see the light of day is just a bonus !

PERSONALITY AND OTHER SHIT

she’s very much a lively person, always curious and ready for the next adventure — big or small

she’s all about going out and having a good time, drunk or sober, and allowing herself the little luxuries in her life, like walks around the city or treating herself to a sheet or cream face mask and a glass of wine on a night in

but she’s level-headed enough to know when to take the occasional step back from certain things incorporated into her lifestyle.. for the most part

she’s totally diligent in what she loves, be it running that open mic night, any writing she does, her school work, bringing people together for an event, etc. she gets quite carried away at times, even stressed over what she produces from some of these things, and 

in spite of her more social and active lifestyle, she is a little more on the responsible side, not one to exceed her limits or convince someone to neglect theirs

let’s take it back 2 the beginning,,, emma was born on a lovely autumn morning in new york city ( let it b known she’s a libra ). she is the first and only child to her parents, and her mother named her after her favorite jane austen heroine, emma woodhouse

even at a young age, emma much preferred being in the company of her mother. she was kind, affectionate, and wise beyond her years. her father, on the other hand, had a colder disposition and wasn’t too keen on showing emotion. he wasn’t necessarily a bad person, but emma often felt like she was in the presence of a stranger around her father

emma and her mother were inseparable. her mother taught her to always be kind and reminded her to be humble. in a world so cruel, her mother was like a beacon of light, and emma wanted to be just like her

she had a picture perfect childhood. for a while, it was just her, her parents, and the family cat, luna. despite not being particularly close to her father, she admired the love her parents shared. it was real and pure. the two were opposites who brought out the best in each other

soon, emma learned that her perfect little life wouldn’t always be perfect. caught in the midst of a winter storm, her mother fell victim to a tragic car accident. at just eleven years old, emma’s life was changed forever. her life was beginning to mimick the heroine she was named after, who also lost her mother at a young age

after the death of her mother, her father went stone cold. he completely shut emma out, leaving her to mourn her mother’s death on her own. unable to cope with the loss of her mother, emma began making up stories about the whereabouts of her mother when people around her began to ask. one week, her mother was vacationing in the bahamas, and the next she was visiting family in the hamptons. emma grew into the habit of making up stories about her mother, though it wasn’t long before she began to lie about other things as well

her lies were mostly harmless, at least she always intended them to be. unfortunately, their were times people got tangled into her stories and were hurt in the process. much like an addiction, lying was a habit she couldn’t quit

after living in new york for a few more years following the death of her mother, her father packed them up and they moved to the sunny city of angels, LA, for a fresh new start

emma looked at the move as a way to start again. she decided to leave her pain behind in new york, as her mother would have wanted. emma vowed to remain kind and honor her mother’s memory by being the person she always taught her to be

at school, emma worked hard. she completed her high school education in the city of love itself, paris, france. before entering high school, her father became president of ucla, guaranteeing she would always have a spot at the school, but emma refused to rely on what was given to her. she wanted to earn it. emma was at the top of her class in high school, taking on challenging classes and becoming student body president. 

during high school in france, emma discovered her passion for design. she spent her free time making clothes and donating them to women’s shelters

while in france, she also found herself wrapped up in a love story with a french boy...or two. emma loves love, however, she has never been one to settle because she is never satisfied. she thought she was in love with one boy up until she met another who stole her attention. emma desperately wants to be in love, and she has been a few times, but nothing has ever lasted

after her french excursion, she returned back to LA a changed woman, almost unrecognizable to her father. she was certain about what she wanted to do with her life, which was fashion. she began studying fashion marketing and design at ucla

her cat luna is still alive btw and she is a proud cat mom

personality wise, i would describe emma as someone who can be extremely sociable, but tends to be more reserved unless put in a situation that encourages her to open up. she’s free-spirited and her head tends to always be in the clouds, probably daydreaming about love and her future success in the fashion world. she’s extremely idealistic, which may also be the reason shes never satisfied. overall, aesthetic wise i would describe her as classic and chic, inspired heavily by french fashion and living. emma can sometimes be a bit of a narcissist in the sense that she truly believes she’s like a modern-day jane austen heroine destined for something great. she can be a bit snobby at times, but her intentions are never bad...if she’s ever angry/annoyed i feel like she’d be super passive aggressive like the type of person who expects u to kno u fucked up without actually telling u anything ajdjdhkh (rip). she gives me pisces moon vibes but i havent decided for sure yet ajshddhkhd

i don’t know how else to describe him other than he is the next bill gates. for real this guy is the biggest whiz kid around, think of jimmy neutron child prodigy but with a much more normal sized head

he’s basically gifted with anything you can do with your hands. he’s been tinkering with “gadgets and gizmos” ever since he was a little lad and hasn’t stopped since. from building robots to playing the piano to creating cosplay suits of armor, he can pretty much do anything if he sets his mind to it. the gag is if he focuses too much on one thing he starts to get bored, so for him constant mental stimulation is a must.

grew up in san francisco california and raised mostly by his mother and older sister because they lost their dad pretty early on from a sickness. he is extremely close to them, being the youngest and only boy in the family, and he dotes on them every second he can. he is very big on family, and when his older sister had her own son he took on the role as favorite uncle so quickly. he’d die for his little nephew. unprovoked.

his mom eventually married this sleaze ball of a douchebag to the max.. he’s essentially a deadbeat and auggie hates��his guts but he pays the bills and his mom can’t bring herself to leave him for her own reasons and august would never hurt his mother ever so. he has to live with it. the two guys always butt heads, with his stepdad being the more aggressive of the two always resulting in august holding his tongue and taking the brunt of it. as soon as he was old enough to move out he zipped outta there.

because of his exceptionally bright capabilities, he was granted a full ride scholarship to ucla where he’s currently studying aviation and aeronautic engineering. yea he plans on exploring outer space. boy’s got big dreams and if there’s anything you should know about august it’s that once he sets his mind on something he won’t back down til he reaches it. he’s been fascinated with planes and rockets and spaceships and aliens since he was still a tiny kiddo, and even now he sometimes slips and blurts out astronomy facts in random conversations.

as for his personality, despite his incredible roster of skills and capabilities our boy is actually a very timid one, very introspective and chooses to keep to himself most of the time. not that great with social cues (as a kid he was bullied for being somewhere on the spectrum but now he sees it more as a “superpower” of sorts, if you will) — doesn’t have that many friends but the ones he does have he cherishes with everything in him. he would do anything for pretty much anyone — even to the point of blindly following them — which more often than not leads to him getting walked all over. cue the people in his life who try to sway him to do what they want (bad influence plots anyone?).

the running gag is that august here is very much the human equivalent of a robot. if something of relatively minor inconvenience pops up: System Malfunction.. ERROR! Rrrrrr

he’s very sweet it’s just that for all his intelligence, he can be very naive? he puts his trust in people a lot, even if he just met them, cause he thinks it’s only right to give every one a fair chance. as mentioned before he doesn’t bode well in social situations — he’d much rather sit at home playing a game from his collection or rebuilding a scale model of the mars rover from scratch. he’s a bit of a loner, he tends to isolate himself a lot because he likes a bit of peace and quiet. his mind is so full of things he needs a little space to process his thoughts. he is not good at reading people although he is very very loyal. when things go awry he tends to panic because there’s no manual for this?!

hey x its me....so basically ? ava is my little monster<3 first of all....she’s soojin’s older cousin so if u thought one devil was bad....................here’s another ! they’ve got a very cat dog kind of relationship so im sure everyone who knows either of them would be aware of the way they sabotage each other but are also weirdly protective over each other....think serena & blair hehe

so some backstory ! ava’s mom was a retired beauty queen who did what pretty social climbing women do best and married rich ! they had two kids, gabriel (who is ava’s older brother of six years) and ava ! she was never really close with he brother growing up and now he’s got a wife & kids so she really felt as if she was on her own her whole life /:

which if u ask her ? it was the best thing that ever happened to her ! she was finally free to do whatever she wanted which most of the time was something no good...she went pretty crazy that year just partying even getting arrested a couple of times for stupid shit just generally not giving a fuck

which was great for ava but not so great for ava’s mom</3 who developed a cute lil drug habit to cope with her husband’s arrest and her teen daughter gone wild ! ava didnt catch on though

BUT she did feel a little guilty so she kinda did try to settle down for college acceptances

which speaking of ! a bitch got into julliard for music ! ava was *lana vc* fucking crazy but she’s also one hell of a piano player literally she was a child prodigy /: and she really loves it so she was happy to go study it

all good things come to an end though<3 her mom came to visit her during her freshman year to say she was planning on moving to cali bc she wanted a fresh start and ava was all for it....until she realized her mom was high as a kite...long story short they had a huge fight in ava’s dorm and he rmom stormed out and neither of them realized she dropped a coke baggie

which was later found by an RA in ava’s dorm and guess what ! she got kicked out of julliard bc as it turns out u cant keep a bad girl down and ava was already on probation bc of other mishaps<3 

after everything that happened in nyc.....ava was like huh perhaps i too should move to cali....and so she did ! instead of trying to enroll in college ava decided hey . whats a girl to do when her dads in jail and her moms an addict and shes just been kicked out from school ? oh yeah . go crazy x

personality wise.......she literally just cares abt having as much fun as she can in the moment. she’s easily bored which just leads her to make VERY impulsive decisions which dont always turn out the best for her /: honestly its high key an issue how self destructive she can be at times but point it out and u will be the one getting destroyed x

she generally doesnt play well with others just because shes unpredictable and self involved but if she cares about you and if you’re close to her.....shes the most loyal person in the world even if shes got a hard time being vocal abt it ):

she just ...doesnt take much seriously.....reputations and pretenses are such a joke to her like nothing is truly THAT deep for ava & if u act like something is in front of her she’ll laugh perhaps its a coping mechanism so she doesnt have to deal with everything going on....so what

truly believes she can do whatever she wants at any time and most of the time ? shes right ! a big fan of being a general bad influence for those around her....also owns a motorcycle and has probably crashed it more times than u can count but that wont stop her x the one thing in the world anyone can say ava cares abt for sure is her cat maisie who is back in cali and maybe....a nice bottle of red wine<3
