Swooning over a secondary character (again), Pt. 3/3
Tumblr media
Dandelions as a symbol of a longing for salvation (and of their love as well, which is SYMBOLIC).
Tumblr media
He is about to run away with his sister (who is happened to be lovesick and heart-broken, too) but then he learns it was his lover who ordered assassin to shot him and decides to talk to her one more time before leaving. He is foolishly brave, as usually. Maybe he is very understanding, too, and this wicked attempt to make him stay said to him how desperate the princess needed him, or something, idk, it's never been said in the story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They meet in private again and she says she wants to run away, too. He is reluctant and it makes her upset.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But finally feelings take over rationality and he promises to take her away with him. But this secret tryst was watched by Kim Cha-eon's spies, so now he is sure his daughter is pregnant with Moo-yeon's child. And also he knows Moo-yeon lied to him about killing of the Crown Prince. This all doesn't bode well for Moo-yeon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kim Cha-eon takes Moo-yeon hostage and threats his daughter to kill him off if she doesn`t obediently play her role of a Crown Princess, pregnant with Crown Prince's child. He is also not happy with her humble choice of a baby's father.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, during the investigation of his own murder attempt, the amnesiac Crown Prince makes a big mess in Kim Cha-eon's mansion and finds something very interesting in vice-prime minister's barn...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So here we have a sweet family reunion. A wanna-be-murderer of the Crown Prince turns out to be a big brother of a woman he loves.
After blaming Moo-yeon for leading such a miserable and disgraceful life and serving for a murderer of their father (even if it all was for her sake), Yoon Yi-seo tells him to hand himself over to the Crown Prince and to confess his crimes (which is a death sentence for him for sure) and Moo-yeon does it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moo-yeon tells the Crown Prince that Kim Cha-eon tried to kill him because Kim So-hye is pregnant with Moo-yeon's baby and the Crown Prince says no his beloved's brother nor his unfaithful wife will be forgiven.
Tumblr media
"Escort the Crown Princess out of palace. She went out in the deaf of night to meet her paramour and was killed there. "
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Crown Prince didn't forgive them but let them run away together just as they wished to. I don't care there are 1,5 more eps, this drama ended up for me here, they ran away and lived maybe not super-happily, but free together and raised their child in love. The end.
Tumblr media
"Once it heavily rained for a long time. The whole soil was drowned and even dandelions were about to die. A small dandelion prayed to the skies. It pleaded for salvation. Then suddenly the wind blew. The dandelion's seeds took flight and landed on a sunny hill. Shortly after they sprouted and bloomed. If we ride the wind, we will be able to bloom somewhere else, too."
Here is Part 1 Here is Part 2

Family By Choice
Tumblr media
This series hooked me from episode 1. They family dynamics, the relations between the children felt real. The circumstances that bring these people together, are heartbreaking, but they love they feel for each other is uplifting. I liked how the children became teens and later young adults. Their relationship with each other and their paths. The ending is not an ending, it's just another day in their lives. And we hope that Hae Joon and Dal have a great relationship, a strong one that will stand against her mother. We hope that San Ha's mother will finally find peace and leave the young man be. This family by choice is sweet and I enjoyed witnessing the story unfold.

Come and Hug Me (kdrama, 2018)
Tumblr media
"Come and Hug Me" is a story about the tragic relationship between Nak Won and Na Moo. The two met as children, but fate wanted to destroy any chance of happiness for both of them, as Na Moo's father cruelly kills Nak Won's parents and even tries to kill her, but Na Moo protects her with her life at risk. The two grow apart, Nak Won changes her name and becomes an actress, she does this because she wants to find Na Moo and he is doing his best to stay hidden, being consumed by his guilt about his father. Eventually they reunite, but they still have to go through a lot to finally be happy.
The love between Nak Won and Na Moo is truly beautiful, it is a connection, a bond, they have become each other's salvation. Na Moo's only crime was loving Nak Won and having a monster for a father, he has always tried to redeem himself for what happened, even though it was not his fault. Na Moo couldn't be around Nak Won for fear of hurting her, of not deserving her, of making her suffer again… but he couldn't live without her, Nak Won is his paradise and the air he needs to breathe, but she is also a living reminder of what his father did, of all the evil he caused.
The scene of the final confrontation is very similar to what happens in the drama "I Hear Your Voice". Yoon Hui Jae lies to Na Moo that he killed Nak Won, thinking that this would make him freak out and finally become the monster that Yoon Hui Jae wanted so much, but Na Moo knew that even if Nak Won was dead (which we knew was not true), she didn't want him to become a murderer, not even to avenge her. Luckily, in the end they got their happy ending, there was closure to all that sadness and now it is possible for them to finally move on. Obviously the past will always be there, as will the memories of everything that happened, but that doesn't stop them from being happier in the future.
Jang Ki Yong is a spectacular actor, the way Na Moo's gaze let you know everything he was feeling is simply incredible. When he looked at Nak Won, he looked like a puppy dog and the total difference in his gaze when Yoon Hui Jae is involved, there is an intensity, a hatred in Na Moo, that was even scary at times.
In addition to the main characters, there are also secondary characters that captivate a lot of attention, one that I have to highlight Hyun Moo. Yes, he also did a lot of wrong things, but he is a character worthy of pity. Throughout his life, he only sought recognition from his father and discovered too late that there were other people around him who loved him, like his mother and brothers. The scene where Hyun Moo protects Ok Hee is great, I knew he wouldn't abandon her at that moment, when she never forgot him.
It's a drama I've always wanted to watch and it really is as amazing as I imagined, it's one of the best productions I've ever seen. The story of Nak Won and Na Moo is marked by the tragedy that unites them, the two have loved each other since they were children, but there is a monster that always stands between them, preventing them from being happy. Their relationship is a work of art, you get so involved that it becomes a necessity to see that well-deserved happy ending.

Finally having post-TOTNT 1938 thoughts and. I've grown so fond of Jaeyoo and Yeohee??? I am so glad the showrunners added them into the story. Yeo-hee was awesome she really was a star in every scene she's in and Jae-yoo was just the cutest I love him and his puppydog eyes. And his brotherhood with mi yeon and shin joo!Shinjoo and Sunwoo Eunho made me emotional like the underlying plot was absolutely heartwrenching. Of course, Moo yeong and Hong joo were super cool and I hope we'll get to see them again. AND the main characters Rang and Yeon!!! Every single scene with them kept my eyes glued to the screen like their brotherhood was everythinggg. The villains were also really good. This season was great I love you Tale of the Nine-tailed 1938

Missing TOTNT 1938😭😭😭
Just finished watching TOTNT 1938 and I'm already missing them, I hope the events that happened in 1938 will bring good changes in the future in season 3 (if there'll be one, which I hope so). I'm satisfied that everyone gets their happy ending in 1938. As for 1938 Lee Yeon, hmm finally you get your act together huh🙄🙄🙄please repent, I think he got try to sort things out with Lee Rang tho, the movie just didn't show us, still I would like to beat some sense in him😤😤😤your precious Ah-Eum will be very ashame of you if she see you in this state, Lee Yeon😤😤😤😤.
I don't know why, I didn't have the urge to watch TOTNT season 1🥹🥹🥹 I'll try to find motivation to watch it.
Anyway, I'll stop my rambling now. I hope there'll be a season 3 with more of LY & LR brotherly moments 🤧🤧🥺🥺🥺

Dr. Romantic Series
Tumblr media
Rewatching these three seasons one after the other has helped me appreciate the details I missed when watching each after the years of separation. I loved going back to the first one and then seeing that Kim Sabu kept in contact with Kang Dong Joo, Yoo Seo Jung and Do In Beom now that they were doing different things. I also made the connection between the mother of the paramedic in season 2 with season 3 as she appeared now and we can see her relationship with Seo Woo Jin. And of course the return of Kang Don Joo and Yoo Seo Jung is so much sweeter! I really love this series. Each season brings something new and just watching how Kim Sabu helps each of his students become better doctors and nurses, it warms my heart. The relationship between them all, the friendships and their love for what they do is in deed a beautiful romance.

Drama Review: Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938
Tumblr media
Source: Google Images
An unexpected case leads Lee Yeon back in time to 1938, where he reencounters Ryu Hong Joo. Once a guardian spirit of the mountain in the west, she's now the owner of a high-end restaurant in the capital city of Gyeongseong. He also meets his younger brother Lee Rang. Meanwhile, another former guardian spirit and ex-friend Cheon Moo Young has become hostile. Lee Yeon struggles to return to the present, to his loved one.

One of the Most Unserious Dramas Out There
Before we start: I did not watch the first one and am not planning to watch it at all. Going into Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 I admit I had to do a Q&A with my sister to understand what happened between the Lee brothers in this drama's modern world. However, one does not actually need to watch the previous drama to watch this and honestly speaking, from what I saw and knew about it, Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 is a whole lot more interesting and fun.
That being said, lets get on with how I felt about this drama. I am not kidding when I say, this is the most unserious drama for a drama anyone would think to be serious. Practically half of this drama was comedy and that is a praise. The comedy bit plays a part in making Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 so darn interesting and fun. Yet, this show also pulls on your heartstrings be it the brothers, the best friends or the best friends' righthand people.
I understand romance was a huge part of the first instalment but in this, it was just a tiny bit and I believe that is why I freaking loved watching this drama. In terms of what romance there was, I have no complains too. I mean, I adore the mermaid and the only complain I have is that I wished we could have gotten more scenes with her powers. When Rang said he liked someone who's stronger than him, he was not lying. The way Yeohee was written was right up my alley, she may not be as powerful as Rang but she saved him more times than he saved her and even when she was in danger, she still did not back down on a losing fight. For that reason, Yeohee is I really thought I would dislike the mermaid but nope, I love her.
Another thing I seriously love about Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 was the friendships. Any friendship in this drama was a pleasure to watch. Obviously, the friendship among our three mountain gods was my favourite. Don't get me wrong, Yeon is extremely lovable but in this trio, I need to worship my lady, Hongjoo and lovingly protect the cinnamon roll, Mooyoung. These three portrayed my kind of friendship where they were tight as children, still tight as adults and even with unfortunate circumstances, they might hate but they love each other more. Of course, the friendship among the roommates was a delight too. I only highlighted my top two favourites but I am not lying when I claim that this show did friendships so well.
Now, now. We have a problem though. At the beginning of this drama, Taluipa told Yeon even if he changes something in 1938, it does not affect 2023. I think its safe for me to say that we do not want that to be true, right? I am just willing to believe that what Taluipa said meant that Rang would still be dead in 2023, nothing Yeon did in 1938 changed Rang's decision in the future. I would even go as far to say that, everything Yeon did in 1938 further encouraged Rang to make that choice in the future. That is all I am willing to believe because I hear there's a third season and I need my best friends and roommates reunited to fight (without a doubt) the original mountain god. Yes, I know I said all I am willing to believe is that Rang is still dead but that's because I am sure there will be no Nine-Tailed dramas without both Lee brothers alive.
When the next instalment comes out, I will watch it as long as Hongjoo and Mooyoung are still around (if Jaeyoo, Miyeon and Yeohee are too, even better). I don't even care if there will be more romance although I wish there wouldn't be.
Rating: ★★★★★
P.S.: Anyone else felt that the big bad villains were so pathetic as compared to the smaller villains?
