ART OF NEGOTIATION
GENRES: Drama
SUMMARY: A man rejoins his old company to get back at those who sent his brother down the wrong path.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Luxury Jeju villas, family squabbles, long distance phone calls, novelty socks, racing bicycles, stock manipulation, Subway sandwiches, video game easter eggs, golf, mergers, acquisitions, layoffs, and corruption.
HOT TAKE: Similar to 'Tracer,' 'Numbers,' and 'The Auditors,' this show fits nicely in that category of drama that tried to inject drama into a profession that you knew nothing about (and probably never asked).
This show has a heaping spoonful of corporate buffoonery and a few pinches of personal vendetta (IMHO there should have been more of this plot line) to keep anyone watching remotely interested to the end, but I'll be honest in saying that gazing at Lee Je Hoon's silver wig kept me mesmerized for at least a few eps on its own.
Oh, and I dare you to try and count the number of A-list male kdrama celebrities over the age of 40 in this drama. The gang's all here!

D.P. (Season 2)

TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2023
D.P. (Season 2, 2023, South Korea)
Director: Han Jun Hee
Writers: Kim Bo Tong & Han Jun Hee
Mini-review:
The moment has finally come: Netflix's best Korean Original has made its return with a second season. And these two years of waiting have been more than worth it. It seemed impossible but, somehow, this new season is even better than the first one. It preserves all of its many strengths, and then it takes them to the next level. Both the directing and the writing are amazingly intense. I spent six whole hours on the edge of my seat, biting my nails to the quick, and the last two episodes left me breathless. I also loved the show's attempts at experimenting, like the musicality in episode 3 or the horror undertones in episode 4. As for the acting, is there anything left to say? This is a cast full of incredible actors, and all of them give career-best performances. This time round, Jung Hae In and Son Suk Ku are probably the MVPs, but everyone does a flawless job. To sum up, this second season blew away my sky-high expectations, and I really hope we get a third one, cause TV shows don't get better than this.
P.S. There's a lot of triggering content here, so please be careful with that. Those of you who watched the first season already know this, but I'm saying it just in case.

Bir yandan kasabanın sıcak atmosferinde huzur bulurken, diğer yanda Yong-Sik’in samimiyetiyle aşka tekrar inanabilirsiniz. Kesinlikle zaman ayırmaya değer.
OST:
Punch - Like a heroine in the movie
Motte, Yongzoo - You are my Vitamin
When the Camellia Blooms is a series that captivates viewers with both its story and acting performances. The main focus of the story is the relationship between Dong-Baek (Gong Hyo-Jin), a single mother, and Hwang Yong-Sik (Kang Ha-Neul), a pure-hearted and deeply loving police officer. However, it’s not just a love story we are watching; a layered narrative unfolds with the colorful townspeople, ghosts of the past, and the shadow of a serial killer.
First of all, I have to say, Gong Hyo-Jin once again proves her uniqueness. Her natural acting is so powerful that you find yourself crying with her in one scene and laughing alongside her in the next. While her beauty might be debatable, her on-screen charisma is unquestionably beyond dispute. On the other hand, there’s Kang Ha-Neul… Those who watched Moon Lovers will surely remember how he made us pull our hair out. Here, with the character of Yong-Sik, he appears so innocent and boyish that he manages to erase his previous bad image. He portrays a childish, pure, yet strong lover wonderfully.
The series also places a lot of emphasis on its settings. I realized that I truly enjoy stories set in small towns. This story begins with a mother and son who move to the seaside town of Ongsan. Dong-Baek opens a bar called "Camellia" there. Although being a single mother running a bar becomes a subject of gossip in the small town, her resilience and ability to stay standing for years show us what a strong woman she is, forming the core of the story. Over time, the bar and the town's general atmosphere become almost like characters themselves. It’s so warm, so realistic that you feel like having a coffee there and chatting with Yong-Sik. The impressive selection of filming locations directly invites the viewer into that world.
As for the supporting characters, they are all gems in their own right. From the town’s gossiping residents to Dong-Baek’s adorable son, everyone contributes to the story. Especially the characters who enter and exit Dong-Baek’s life help us understand how strong yet fragile she is. The acting among the supporting cast is so strong that you realize everyone’s presence in this story is meaningful. If you’ve recently watched some shows with weaker acting, this one makes you feel like you’re in a safe zone.
Regarding the plot… romance, drama, and suspense are all blended together. But this mixture doesn’t create a tiring mess for the viewer. On the contrary, the layers of the story support each other. The transitions between the small-town story and the serial killer thriller are handled quite successfully. Was the suspense element necessary? I’m not sure, but its presence wasn’t bothersome either. Despite the warm atmosphere, the excellent acting, and the detailed storytelling, there were a few minor points that bothered me. In some episodes, the pacing slows down a bit. Dong-Baek’s constant passivity against the meddling of those around her can get a little irritating after a while. However, these shortcomings do not overshadow the overall success of the series.
When the Camellia Blooms is truly a good choice for those looking for something both emotional and fun. While you find peace in the warm atmosphere of the town, you can also find yourself believing in love again thanks to Yong-Sik’s sincerity. It’s definitely worth the time.

Taxi Driver 2 Ep. 11 to 14 "Black Sun"
The series is based on real-life heinous crimes committed in Korea and has received praise from viewers for its performances and storylines.
The episodes 11 to 14 are based on the real-life case known as the "Burning Sun Scandal".
Burning Sun Scandal
The Burning Sun scandal, also known as Burning Sun gate, was a 2019 entertainment and sex scandal in Seoul. The scandal involved several celebrities, including Korean idols of popular K-Pop groups, and police officials. It was the largest scandal to hit the K-Pop industry. The allegations of sex crimes have added to the country's "molka" epidemic, which refers to the online distribution of nonconsensual sex videos taken of women. The scandal has become political fodder, with parties arguing over how to handle it.
On January 28, 2019, MBC Newsdesk reported an alleged assault of a male clubgoer by a staff member at Burning Sun, a prominent nightclub in Gangnam, in November 2018. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency investigated the club for alleged involvement in prostitution, drug trafficking, and police corruption. On March 11, 2019, Seungri, one of the club's directors and member of the boy group Big Bang, resigned from the entertainment industry after being charged with sexual bribery. The scandal involved allegations of rape and spy cams. Singer and entertainer Jung Joon-Young confessed to secretly filming himself having sex with women and sharing the videos without their knowledge or consent in the Jung Joon-Young KakaoTalk chatrooms. He resigned from the entertainment industry on March 12, 2019.
SBS funE discovered videos and chat conversations related to the Burning Sun scandal. The videos and chats date back to 2015-2016 and involve Jung, Seungri, and acquaintances. The exposé of the chatroom immediately affected several celebrities, with more being affected as the case developed. Yong Jun-Hyung of Highlight and Choi Jong-Hoon of F.T.Island resigned from their positions on March 14. The agency for Lee Jong-Hyun of CNBLUE admitted his involvement on March 15 after allegations that he participated in the chatrooms.
Legal proceedings, related to the scandal continued into 2021. Some police officers were disciplined for their actions at the Burning Sun club. However, the two most high-profile cases resulted in acquittals.
During the trial, Burning Sun's CEO, Lee Sung-Hyun, testified that he had paid former police officer Kang to cover up an incident involving an underage clubgoer. Nevertheless, Kang's one-year prison sentence was overturned due to lack of evidence.
A senior police official, Yoon Gyu-Geun, was arrested for allegations of bribery and mediating favours for the Burning Sun club and others. However, he was found innocent at his first trial. This case was well-publicized.
Burning Sun's CEO, Lee Moon-Ho, was sentenced to one year in prison on habitual drug use, including ecstasy and ketamine in Gangnam clubs. Additionally, one of the club's promoters, MD Cho, was sentenced to four years and six months for drug use and smuggling.
Police conducted drug sweeps at entertainment venues due to public interest in the scandal. The sweeps yielded hundreds of drug-related arrests, with a large percentage involving ecstasy and GHB, a commong date rape drug. Cases of sexual assault and rape, as well as the filming of illegal videos during drug use, were also discovered.
Seungri's business associate, Yoo In-Seok, admitted to providing prostitutes to potential Japanese investors and received a suspended sentence of three years probation for embezzlement.
Yang Hyun-Suk, former CEO of YG Entertainment, admitted to illegal gambling and money transactions in Las Vegas casinos. He was fined, along with three associates from YG and YGX.
Seungri's case concluded in January 2022 in a military appeals court. He received a reduced prison sentence of one and a half years and a fine. The court found him guilty of nine charges, including habitual gambling overseas, illegal money transactions, prostitution mediation and purchase, instigation of violence, violation of the Specific Economic Crimes Act, embezzlement, sharing illicit photos, and a violation of business operations.

4 Years Later: Where are they now?
All of the convicted, except for one, have been released from prison.
Jung Joon-Young
Jung Joon-Young owned the main chatroom where illegally taken sex videos were shared. The scandal was discovered when Jung Joon-Young took his phone in for repair, and the chat was discovered.
He received a six-year prison sentence for gang sexual assault and for taking and sharing illegally obtained sex videos. However, his sentence was reduced to five years after he submitted documents expressing his regret. He is expected to be released in late 2025.
Choi Jonghoon
Choi Jonghoon, a former member of F.T.Island, was sentenced to five years in prison for participating in two different gang rapes. However, his sentence was later reduced to two years and six months after reaching a settlement with his victims.
The former idol was released from prison in November 2021. In January 2022, news agency "The Fact" shared footage of Choi attending a church service with his mother. The encounter quickly turned physical. Choi did not answer any questions about returning to the entertainment industry.
Seungri
Seungri participated actively in Jung Jonn-Young's chat rooms, where they shared illegal sex videos and rated the women they had sex with. He was investigated only for his participation in the chat room and reportedly shared only one photo he found online.
Seungri received a three-year sentence for nine charges, including prostitution, prostitution mediation, embezzlement, violating food safety laws, habitual gambling, and violating the foreign exchange law. Netizens were surprised when he was released after serving only 18 months.
Yong Jun-Hyung
Yong Jun-Hyung, a former member of HIGHLIGHT, was implicated in a scandal after admitting to viewing an illegal video shared by Jung Joon-Young. Although he acknowledged speaking inappropriately, he denied sending any illegal content himself.
Jun-Hyung released a new album "Loner" in November 2022 after leaving HIGHLIGHT in 2019. He remained out of the spotlight until then.
Lee Jong-Hyun
Lee Jong-Hyun, a former member of CNBLUE, admitted to participating in discussions about the women he and Jung Joon-Young had slept with, even asking for details about other women. Although he initially denied involvement, he later admitted to viewing the illegally filmed videos.
After departing from CNBLUE and completing his mandatory enlistment, Lee Jong-Hyun has remained out of the spotlight and deleted his social media accounts.
Roy Kim
Roy Kim was accused of sharing and viewing illegal sex cams. However, he was found not to be involved in the group chats that did.
After being cleared of charges, Roy Kim returned to music in 2020. He then enlisted in the Marines for his mandatory military service. In October 2022, he released his latest album.
Eddy Kim
Eddy Kim was charged with circulating obscene material related to Jung Joon-Young's group chat. The prosecution suspended his indictment after it was revealed that he shared a single photo from the internet in a different group chat.
Following the scandal, Eddy Kim refrained from posting on social media for almost two years. He now shares occasional updates.
Similarties between Burning Sun and Black Sun
There are certain parallels between Burning Sun and Black Sun. Let's examine eight parallels between Black Sun Taxi Driver 2 and Burning Sun.
Names and information about the offenders to the victims
There isn't much of a difference between Burning Sun and Black Sun's given names. Just that, even though the characters' surnames or designations differ slightly, they are similar.
For instance, "Mr. Kim" and journalist Kim Young-Min frequently assist harassed women. Ultimately, though, Kim Young-Min and "Mr. Kim" were taken into custody and charged with the abuse. However, Kim Do-Ki also had a comparable experience.
YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-Suk and CEO Yang Mi-Kyung are two more figures that resemble each other. Each of the two CEOs is embroiled in a drug trafficking case. Just their full name and gender are mentioned.
Victor and Seungri are two other significant characters who share similarities. When translated into English, Seungri signifies victory. In Japan, he also goes by the stage name Victory, or V.I.
The club's name, logo, and the traits that separate Black Sunfrom Burning Sun
The club name also bears a striking resemblance. The scandal was dubbed Burning Sun in real life, after the club. Black Sun is the name of the club in Taxi Driver 2.
Both of their logos' details are fairly similar. Both Black Sun and Burning Sun have a circle as their emblem. The distinction is that Burning Sun's circle contains multiple tentacles. On the other hand, the image of a circle inside Black Sun gets smaller and smaller.
Furthermore, Black Sun's bottle procession scene—which is intended to be presented to VVIP guests—is fashioned after Burning Sun. A video of the event was captured and went viral in 2019.
GHB is the medication that is used.
The medication, known as Gamma Hydroxybutyrate, is also the same. The purpose of the drugs was to knock the rape victim out.
GHB consumption in Taxi Driver 2 allows users to unknowingly follow commands from other users. as Kim Do-Ki and the female victims both experienced.
Victor and Seungri are the owners of Black Sun or Burning Sun, respectively.
Victor's character is still another area of similarity. Seungri and Victor share co-ownership of the club.
Despite Seungri's initial denial of the accusations. Yoo Moon-Hyun is regarded as the owner of Black Sun while he is in front of the audience.
The group chat between Victor and Seungri
Victor and Seungri have a group chat, which is another similarity. In one scene, Victor was on a group chat with his friends and had booked a woman.
Victor's friends asked him to send a video through the chat. In contrast, a number of artists are involved in Burning Sun, including Lee Jong-Hyun, an ex-CNBLUE member, Choi Jong-Hoon, an ex-FTISLAND member, and Jung Joon-Young.
Sexual harassment incidents and the sharing of victim videos
A well-known case in Burning Sun involved sexual harassment and the sharing of victim videos. In Gangnam, there were some protestors up until International Women's Day.
While sexual harassment is also one of the primary cases in Black Sun. Through Windy, the actors select the woman they desire. Subsequently, Windy would combine GHB drugs with the victim's alcoholic drink.
Black Sun guards will escort unconscious victims to their purchasers. They are unaware that the influence of GHB is the reason behind their harassment.
Corruption within the police force
An additional instance of Burning Sun is police corruption. It is even possible to bribe certain authorities to enable them to commit crimes.
Police officers Jang Ji-Ho and Jo Min-Gun take bribes from the club while they are in Black Sun. They even managed to obtain a substantial quantity of drugs that had been seized, enabling Black Sun to resell them.
Suspects are punished while the case is being looked into nationally.
Suspects are punished while the case is being looked into nationally. In the end, the suspects in the Black Sun and Burning Sun scandals were found guilty. Even some well-known musicians were subjected to sanctions before being kicked out of the group.
Additionally, the Black Sun and Burning Sun case is being looked into nationally due to multiple police bigwigs' names. In Taxi Driver 2, Police Commissioner Park Hyun-Jo even faced discipline and a demotion from his position.
Commissioner General Min Gap-Ryong declared intentions to launch a national inquiry into the police in the real world. The investigation also looked into drug trafficking and nightclubs.

In all honesty, I didn’t even read the summary of this movie before watching it. I had heard about it a while ago, but never actually watched it. I ended up stumbling on it again and was motivated enough to watch it. After all, it’s Hyuk’s debut as an actor… He even won an award for this role…
Chasing is an action comedy movie. Kim Seung-Joo has his cellphone stolen by a gang of students. As he tries to recover it with the help of his lifelong friend, Do Jung-Taek, he ends up having to chase the small group around Seoul.
For me, the plot was a bit boring. I mean, sure, it's funny, but being funny isn't all and surely doesn't make a movie necessarily good. I strongly believe that, to keep me entertain, a production should have some plot twists as well as an interesting story line. The movie fall short on these two things. The story took quite a lot of time to settle and, because of its slow start, I quickly became uninterested by the movie. I'm well-aware that the start of a movie should be slow and quite calm, but whenever I see such pace, I'm thinking to myself that it could have been handled in another way. The thing is that because of its pace, the plot has quite a few lengths. It's not unbearable, but it can be a little bit tiring. There are no plot twists (and, of there were plot twists, they were so poor that I missed them). The chase can be, from time to time, boring, but it's probably the most entertaining part of this movie. Both the conclusion of the chase and the ending are weird. They seem rushed and didn't make a lot of sense, in my opinion, no matter how hard the scriptwriter tried to justify his choice through the movie.
What was really disappointing about the characters was that the plot was made in such way that there were no place for them. I mean, since the story was mostly focused around the chase and that precise moment of their life (I don’t really want to explain such thing because it’s a type of story frequent in literature, like you see characters at a moment of their life that seems important, but the characters don’t grow or change. If you want an example of such story there’s The Eternal Husband of Dostoïevski) that the characters nor grew nor changed. What was more, the personality of the characters (the mains included) aren’t developed at all. Their character doesn’t seem really important as well as their life before and after the event, which make them kind of easy to forget and hard to connect with. Because they are really superficial, I can’t really take about them in depth. The main characters (the two adults in the movie) are really typical while the kids are just quite weird and annoying most of the time. Most characters, because they aren’t develop, have no reasons to do what they do, which make them, sometimes, hard to understand and annoying. Lastly, because of the weird ending, I’ll have to say that this movie has no true antagonist that’s actually worth mentioning.
I’ll conclude there. The plot would be worth a 4/10. The characters would be a 1/5. And the tearjerker factor a 0.5/5.

Korean Drama Review Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 2 RDTK2

Sigh, I entered another kdrama drought. I scanned through It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and Flower of Evil. There are some things good about them but to me, they are not suitable for me to watch episode by episode. Perhaps for It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, it is dRoue to the setting? I felt that there is not enough thrill. For Flower of Evil, it is crime-related so I skipped through the cases. Felt that…

Hyo-won Eu, who wrote the DP was jailed for document forgery
▲ Hyo-won Eu (right) with Sun Myung Moon in Seoul in c.1955
Hyo-won Eu was the main author of the 1957 Divine Principle. In July 1955 he was jailed for making forgeries of official documents. It was reported in the Kyunghyang Shinmun, dated July 15 1955.
六名拘束送廳 統一教會事件
Six people arrested and detained then sent to court in Unification Church incident 文鮮明 Moon Sun Myung jailed on two charges 劉孝元 Eu Hyo won 公文書偽造 Counterfeiting of official documents and four other UC members arrested on various charges
The arrests in July followed a thorough two month investigation which had begun on May 13, 1955 when two officers from the Police Criminal Investigation Bureau first went to the church.
Hyo-won Eu explained some more in his own diary:
Hyo-won Eu’s Diary: “July 4, 1955. Investigator Oh and Chief Investigator Kim came over to ask Teacher to come to the [Police] station in order to tape an interview. Young Oon [Kim] and I followed them. We went into different rooms.”
Hyo-won Eu: “July 11. At 4:30 I prepared for life in jail, and went to the investigation station. … I was arrested at the East Gate station.”
Hyo-won Eu: “July 13. I was sent by a detective to the Chong No station. … Yung Suk Pak [a student from Ewha] was looking at me very sympathetically. When we were almost ready to leave, one of my nephews called out, “Uncle, what happened to you?” He was crying. When the car left, he hit the window. Their faces looked at us with so much longing, so I told them there was nothing to worry about.
We became so tired, waiting in the Pigeon’s Ground. Teacher [Moon]’s right wrist and my left wrist were bound tightly together. We were led to the examining room. … He [Moon] looked at me and added, “Hyo Won, you are having a hard time, aren’t you?” I told him, “Because of our mistakes, we got you into trouble as well.” With 30 other prisoners, we were sent to the West Gate prison. Some time after midnight, we arrived at Building 6, Ward 9, Cell 380.”
Hyo-won Eu: “July 29. I signed the Principle which I wrote and expressed my feelings to the secretary. … Again, as on the first day, five of us were bound together with Teacher and were sent before Judge Kang.
Son Yung Sohn touched me. I asked him to greet Teacher. Teacher told him, “Pray a lot.” When we got into the car, they didn’t let us sit next to the window. I couldn’t understand how their minds could be so hard.
So finally 22 days passed since our arrest, and we were brought to trial. The first trial was at 10:00 at the local courtroom in Seoul, courtroom 4. The judge was Hak No Yoon. He was actually the chief judge. In the afternoon session, Judge Se Yong Kang gave the following sentence: “‘Teacher, 2 years; Hyo Won, 2 years; the other members, 1 year each.””

On the Yeouido Parc1 Tower
The following is [the full text] of the English article translated by 'Google Translate'. It is assumed that there may be errors in the English translation.

The meaning of the opening of the 69-floor Yeouido Park One building related to the Unification Church... “About 12 trillion invested”
Hyun-jin Moon, Chairman of UCI Group (UCI Group) “Acquired the site of President Sun Myung Moon and left it as a ‘symbol of Korea’s bright future’
-Moon Il-suk, Publisher
After the Korean War (1950-1953), the religious (Christian)-related industries in Korea have been prospering day by day. St. Mary's Hospital (Gangnam, Seoul - Yeouido, Seoul), where Catholics own the property, and Yonsei University Medical School (Sinchon Severance), where the Protestant denomination is the main body, have established themselves as large-scale medical industries. The wealth of Yeouido Full Gospel Church, a member of the Protestant denomination, has been visualized as Yeouido Mammoth Church and local prayer centers.
Among the new religions, the Unification Church (current name = Family Federation for World Peace and Unification) and Cheonbugyo are representative denominations with the largest religious assets.
Cheonbugyo, founded by Gyoju Park Tae-seon (1917-1990), was established as a Jongsan complex early on. It was established by starting the faith village movement. Soy sauce, blankets, tofu, and various mechanical products were produced and sold in Sinjeongchon. When Faith Village moved to Gijang, Busan, it secured a large-scale site (an initial site of about 3.5 million pyeong) and established itself magnificently.
The Unification Church is a representative religious complex system established by Rev. Sun Myung Moon (1920-2012, the official name of the denomination is the president). Just what the size of the property is, the reality has recently been revealed. Since its establishment in 1954, the Unification Church has been running various industries. It has grown while owning industries such as Shotgun Air Gun, Ilhwa Pharmaceutical, Ilsung Condominium, Mona Park Yongpyong Resort, several hotels, Sunmoon University, and Segye Ilbo. The Unification Church has achieved large-scale wealth as a cult-industrial complex.
▲ Park One, two skyscrapers.
On August 12th, at the Grand Ballroom (B1) of the Fairmont Hotel in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, there was an opening ceremony of two high-rise buildings built by Sun Myung Moon, the leader of the Unification Church. The opening ceremony of the Park One skyscraper was presided over by Moon Hyun-jin, the third son of Unification Church leader Moon Hyun-jin, president of UCI Group (UCI Group) (the Unification Church is currently in a dispute with Sun Myung Moon's wife Han Hak-hak).
Sun Myung Moon, head of the Unification Church, is from Deokeon-myeon, Jeongju-gun, Pyeongbuk. He must have been bare-handed because he had escaped South Korea during the Korean War. For the Unification Church who started with bare hands, the Park One building in the center of Yeouido may be the best work of success. It is known that an astronomical amount of about 12 trillion dollars was invested in the construction of this building. It is five times the size of the 63 Building in Yeouido, so you can guess how much wealth it has.
The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests. About 300 leaders from various fields attended, including National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo, Gyeonggi-do Governor Kim Dong-yeon, former Prime Minister Jeong Se-kyun, Kim Choong-hwan, secretary general of the Korean Constitutional Association, Lee Beom-heon, president of the Korea Arts Council, and Kim Yong-in, president of the Korea Case Society.
At the opening ceremony, UCI Group (UCI Group) Chairman Hyun-jin Moon said at the opening ceremony, “In 1971, my father, the late President Sun Myung Moon, acquired this site, and it will serve as an important impetus for Korea’s growth and prosperity. It left a legacy that it will symbolize.” “Finally, that vision has come true. My father entrusted me with the completion of this project in 2006, but I kept my promise with my father here today.”
In addition to this, the Unification Church has its headquarters (Family Federation for World Peace and Unification), which was built on an area of 10 million pyeong in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. I own a lot of real estate here. Foreign wealth is also immeasurable.
How will this building built on the site of the Unification Church be used in the future? Moon Hyun-jin, chairman of UCI Group (UCI Group), who was once raised as the successor of Sun Myung Moon, mentioned this part. At the opening ceremony of this building, he said, “Facing the situation in North Korea where human rights are oppressed and violated, the gap between the rich and the poor, and the widespread corruption in the Republic of Korea, a newly reunited Korea will become a country that upholds universal principles and values and recognizes God’s sovereignty. We will become a champion who exalts the highest ideals of democracy and free market that inspire self-determination and ownership,” he said. he emphasized. “After the Korean War, the economic structure of a symbiotic relationship between the government and prosperous companies was not only the absence of a functioning democratic free market even after the collapse of the military dictatorship, but also the non-democratized broadcasting media, the judiciary, and especially the financial sector with a high level of collusion with the government. ” was mentioned. As an effective solution, “separating the banking sector from politics through privatization would ensure that lending decisions are driven by market forces, free from bureaucracy and artificial risk aversion policies, and capital flows naturally and efficiently into burgeoning entrepreneurship opportunities. “He said. He expressed his intention to focus on the financial industry.
The Unification Church is a new religion in Korea, and it has become the denomination that amassed the most wealth. Yeouido Park One became the standard to prove this. However, an official from Park One said in a phone call with the author, "It is not appropriate to say that the building is 'owned by the Unification Church' because capital from the superficial realm has flowed from outside."
▲ Eden Crusade buildings
In addition, there are many new denominations that have established their nests in the countryside as Korean Protestant denominations. The Eden Crusade (Chairman Lee Young-soo), which entered Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do, built a religious town on a site of 1 million pyeong. It is famous as a natural church with high-tech luxury hotels and various complex business buildings.
▲ Gospel Mission facilities
Christian Gospel Mission (President = Jeong Myeong-seok) has set up a holy site on hundreds of thousands of pyeong near Wolmyeong-dong, Geumsan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, where President Chung Myung-seok was born. A 'nature temple' was created. As a new religion, it entered nature and became a famous place for religious healing.
The financial resources of foundations belonging to Christian groups in Korea are getting stronger day by day. In the era of national welfare, a great revival of medical companies equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities already owned by established Catholic-Protestant denominations is promising. Also, it remains to be seen whether among the new Protestant denominations, they will accumulate as much wealth as the Unification Church in the future.
The wealth they possessed was formed in this society. So, how are these wealth used? The duty of monitoring is thus given to the ‘minjung’ as defined in sociology.
<Writing Review> Park One, the site of a 69-story skyscraper in Yeouido, is definitely owned by the Unification Church. However, there is a theory as to "Is this building owned by the Unification Church?" Moon Hyun-jin, chairman of UCI, said it was 'the inheritance of his father Sun-myung Moon'. However, an official from Park One said in a phone call with the author, "It is not appropriate to say that this building is 'owned by the Unification Church' because capital from the superficial realm has flowed from outside." An official from Park One's side "requested to delete" the phrase "Park One = owned by the Unification Church". However, the Unification Church is in a state of conflict after the death of Rev. Sun Myung Moon. What if before the dispute? It is my opinion that the expression "owned by the Unification Church" can be broadly correct. In this regard, we inform you that part of the content of the article has been modified due to the objection of Park One. [email protected]
