a/n: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LOML!!!!!!! i set aside my hw and all to get this finished hehe. it's still the 2nd in my area, but ik it's the 3rd elsewhere! i tried to keep it short and simple this time!! i won't get sappy or anything but i truly love baji so much!! happy birthday, kei, hope its a good one. ♡

with the amount of staring you’ve been doing, you must as well be losing your vision, the words on the screen blurred and hazy. you’ve scrolled through the ingredient and instruction list an obscene amount of times, and yet… things seem to always turn out like this. 

“i’ve got no fucking clue what i’m doing!” you huff, but the silver haired man besides you simply laughs in reply. “mitsuya, why does my cake look like one of y’all rolled it over with your motorbikes?” 

“to be honest,” he starts, snickering as he inspects it, “i have no idea. i mean, you followed the recipe and all didn’t you?” 

you nod, sadly staring at another failed attempt. he decides to take a piece and taste it, throwing it into his mouth, chewing with an unreadable expression.

“it’s not like it’s inedible, it’s miles better than your first attempt. it’s just a little dry and crumbly…” mitsuya says, brow furrowing, “alright, honestly, it’s pretty bad.” 

you sigh loudly, picking it up and throwing it into the trash, “i told you we should’ve gotten him a cake from the store!” all your attempts have been moot. instead of a fluffy and moist cake, it’s always flat and dry even with mitsuya’s help. 

kazutora pops his head into the kitchen at that moment, “i can run really fast if you want me to.” 

you shake your head, “...no. don’t… do that.” you point to your forehead, signaling him of the decorations stuck on his. 

he shrugs, pulling off a stray streamer, and walking in before he’s jumping up to sit on the counter.“how are we gonna have a birthday party with no cake?” 

you frown, whining, “man, i don’t know. mitsuya, what do we do?” 

he glances over at the clock, mouth pressed in a line, before he answers. “you could always stick a candle into his soba noodles, we've got tons of those.” 

“we are doomed.” you state, sighing as you slump against the counter. “sorry kei…” 

even though you know, deep down, that keisuke baji could give less than two shits about a cake, you really wanted to surprise him. you did the same for him on white day, all those years back in highschool when you finally confessed. he accepted it, shitty chocolate and all, as you hid your burnt bandaged fingers behind your back. he never mentioned it, but you assume he knew, when instead of kissing your lips, he dragged your hands out from behind you and kissed your them while your heart almost sprang out of your chest. 

“who’s doomed?” you hear a loud yet comforting voice coming from the hallway. you look up to see draken, smiling ear to ear as he holds a cake box. 

“draken!” the three of you giddily call in unison and he smiles wider. 

mikey isn’t far behind him, peeking out to say, “there’s no way you guys thought we were gonna eat a cake they made right? it’s literally y/n, we would’ve died. i think baji almost did when he ate your confession chocolate.” 

“i’m going to ignore that for now.♡︎” you chime, keeping the strained smile on your face. 

“you guys are so mean to my protégé.” mitsuya chides, giving you a pat on the back. “anyway, we’re running out of time before he gets home, let’s finish this up.” 

you all nod and run off to your places, with you cleaning up the kitchen, and yourself, as best you can before you head out to the living room. the decorations are strung up nicely, courtesy of emma and hina, although takemichi, chifuyu, and pah definitely tried their best. you’re a little nervous, heart fluttering, as the lights dim and everyone crouches in place. 

you wait a few moments, eyes adjusting to the now darkened room as you catch a wave from chifuyu right before the front door slams open. equally as loud as the slam shut, baji talks to his mom on the phone. 

“yeah ma, i just got home. thanks for hangin’ with me today. huh? oh yeah, i’ve got plans with the guys tonight…” he mutters, phone pressed up against one shoulder as he kicks his shoes off. “unfortunately, its just the guys, said they couldn’t get off work early enough..” he trails off, a solemn expression on his face and you bite back the urge to laugh. 

“alright, love you ma, talk to you later.” he says as he hangs up, placing his book bag onto the floor. as he hits the lights, you all pop up out of place. 

“happy birthday, baji!” you cheer out in unison. it’s an explosion of streamers, confetti, and colors with some of you using party poppers and some of you using the blowers. 

he jumps while breaking out in a shit-eating grin, his pearly canine teeth in full view. his eyes scan the room til they fall onto you, the excitement sparked behind them clear as he immediately makes his way over to you. 

“no fuckin’ way,” he laughs, throwing his arms around you, before peppering kisses on your cheeks. “should’ve known you were a liar.” 

you hug him back, but pull off slightly, when you suddenly feel the heavy eyes of everyone around you. “o-okay keisuke, that’s enough.”

he presses a final kiss to your forehead before turns and glares, “huh? you guys got a problem with this?” 

mikey glares back, “yeah. i do.”

baji releases you, walking over to “square up” with mikey. the two of them bickering about the importance of everyone showing up, but also, a significant other is important too, and besides, “i was about to greet everyone, it’s not my fault you can’t find a date.”  

“here we go,” draken sighs, before sliding onto the couch. “emma, can you get me something to drink?” 

you shrug, settling in next to kazutora who’s excitedly bringing out the games for the night. the rest of the party goes well, the laughter bouncing off the walls of your shared apartment. it’s a nice little life you’ve got with baji so far. while he studies his ass off in school, your work is good enough to support the both of you. it’s cozy, it’s everything you’ve wanted. 

as the night winds down and everyone clears out, you find yourself cleaning up. you tell keisuke not to worry about it, “it’s your night, i’ll finish up here.” but he tsks you away, shoving littered plastic forks and plates into a bag anyway. he finds you in the kitchen later on, washing a few trays that were used to set the food out. 

he snakes his arms around your waist, breath tickling your ear as he asks, “so where’s my cake?” 

“huh?” you giggle, turning off the sink. “what are you talking about? we ate it all earlier?” 

“no, not that one.” he grins, his pretty hair falling over your shoulder. “the one mikey told me you made.” 

you freeze, that little shit. “uh… honestly, we threw them away. even with mitsu’s help, i couldn’t make you anythin’ good.” 

“well, that’s no good.” he hums for a bit, before spinning you around, a devious smile on his face. 

“kei?” you ask, but you’re interrupted by his lips on yours. 

“guess i gotta settle for somethin’ even sweeter.” he murmurs, before his hands are cupping your cheeks as he kisses you again and again.

“you’re so fucking cheesy.” you giggle in between kisses, hands naturally coming around his waist. “happy birthday, keisuke.♡︎”

As promised, my lil 200 followers celebration (and my WIP Wednesday) so, snippet under the cut!

You shut the door before he can answer, huffing out a deep breath you didn’t know you were holding in, and lean against it. What a long fucking night. Padding into the bathroom, you remove your makeup and sigh into your towel. You stare at yourself in the mirror and bite back tears.

Shaking your head, you will yourself not to cry - refusing to shed tears for him. You walk out of the bathroom and into the kitchen, grabbing a glass from one of the cabinets. Opening the fridge, you reach for the open bottle of wine. Sighing, as you’re reminded of Javi, having shared the bottle with him after a hookup a few days ago. 

You fill your glass to the brim and chug half of it, slamming down the glass on the countertop. You drag your feet towards the living room, plopping down on the couch. Your head hangs in your hands as you curl into a ball.

“Javi!” You perk up at the sound of a woman calling his name. Rising from the couch, you press your ear against the thin wall that separates yours and Javi’s apartments. “Sí, Javi, sí!” Your brain is short-circuiting as you hear her moan Javi’s name. You can’t help but let your jaw fall open, shocked that he’d be so bold to rub this in your face. Tears of anger and heartache well in your eyes. You attempt to storm off until you hear your name.

A man screaming your name - Javi screaming your name. Everything goes silent. Your ears are ringing and your body is hot, flooding with emotions as your head spins. There’s no way any of this is happening.

Suddenly, you hear shuffling and shouting from outside. Running to peer out of the small peephole at the top of your front door, your jaw drops again at the scene playing out in front of you. Cassandra, the woman from earlier in the night, is fixing her clothes while screaming at a shirtless Javi in the hallway.

When Joe first joined nxt, you were far from interested in anybody. Lash and Jakara has tried to talk you into hooking up with one of the boys multiple times, but you always decline. “Y’all know my career comes first.”

Joe had his eyes on you from the moment you crossed his path. Five foot two, gorgeous, deep brown skin, and a little stubborn. Nothing he couldn’t handle. Every time he’d watch you walk past him, he noticed you would slow your pace a tad giving him a show.

Admittedly, you did find Joe handsome, his platinum blonde hair made his pretty brown eyes stand out. Every time he smiled his dimples pressed into his cheeks, and he had this dorky way about him but secretly loved it. He clearly was very confident in himself. You always knew when he was in the building because there would be a bunch of the girls standing in a group giggling, and sure enough, Joe would be at the forefront grinning charmingly. You even caught Perez snickering at one of his jokes.

Of course Jakara and Lash got tired of watching the two of you eye fuck each other every week, so they took it upon themselves to get you two together. At first you and your girls are walking down the halls chatting about the usual, and the next Lash had quite literally shoved you into Joe. Once your eyes locked that was it, your hands pressed firmly to his muscular chest, and his hands held you by the hips.

The way Joe went about showing his affection for you was in a grand way every time, meaning you got your very own song curtesy of the man himself. He felt serenading you in front of the whole world might have been a touch too much for the first time, so he asked you out on a picnic date. “You look beautiful kitten.” His eyes took you in, then grabbed your hand, and pressed his lips to your skin. You sat on the soft quilted blanket, your legs tucked underneath you, and a drink in your hand as you looked up at your handsome Scottish heart throb.

He sang softly to you as he strum his acoustic guitar with accuracy, “who told you I liked Ed Sheeran?” You questioned him when he was done with his performance. He gently put the guitar down, planted a soft kiss on your lips, and sat cross legged in front of you.

“Oh I do my research sweetheart.” He bragged arrogantly, his finger tapped you on the nose, then took a sip of his drink. His eyes lingered on you, committing your every feature to his memory, a small smiles turned onto his lips as he thought about how hard headed you were in the beginning. It was obvious to him that maybe you liked him, but you put in zero effort to let him know that. No, you made him chase you. Even when your friends intervened, it took a few tries to get you to say yes to a date.

You looked up from your croissant, with half of it still in your mouth you giggled a little. “What?” You offered the other half of the bread, he smiled at you, his pretty brown eyes sparkling in the sunlight. Butterflies swooned the pit of your tummy, and all you could think about was how special he’s made you feel.

“Nothing, just enjoying my view.” He spoke honestly, you like breathtaking with the sun setting behind you, and the wind blowing a crisp breeze causing your pretty curls to tousle around. You made something as simple as pink, and white look so angelic, the complete opposite of your in ring gear. You got up on your knees, and scooted towards him till your legs were touching. He held you by the waist securely so you wouldn’t topple over. You took his face in your hands, and pressed your lips to his in a deep heated kiss. His tongue pushed past your lips, and caressed the inside of your mouth, you didn’t fight it.

He moaned into your mouth as your hands slid down his neck, then rested on his muscular chest, which to your surprise was actually soft. He loved the taste of you, sweet like fresh fruits, and the tenderness of your body. You straddled his lap, your thighs on either side of him. You didn’t care if anyone saw you, his lips felt too good, you only pulled away to press wet kisses to his neck, that’s when he began to protest. “As much as I want to spread you open right here on this blanket, we are global icons on tv every week.” His breathing was already picking up from the teasing, it didn’t take much for you to excite him. He kissed you on your forehead, you wanted to argue, but he was right. So instead you opted for lying on his chest under the pink lemonade sky, and after the sun fully went down Joe helped you pack up everything. The drive home was long, but of course the care karaoke helped with that. Eventually you passed out in the passenger seat half way through, Joe turned the music down, and let you get some rest on the way back to your apartment.

so for y/n, I had imagined for you guys as the reader, whatever is your best feature about you, whether it be your hair, skin, personality, or the tone of your voice, maybe your smile, whatever it is that you like about yourself the most, that’s what triggered them. Pretty much the same for most of the y/n’s. Bc I don’t know what my readers look like (aside from maybe one or two of my moots) and I never put myself as the y/n….ever. I always have a hard time putting myself as the y/n, but also I really want the readers to be reflected as the main female lead. Which is why theyre not descriptive and so vague (I really wish I could describe my y/n’s…..I so badly want to bc I have a feeling y’all are so pretty)

So it’s whatever that you love about yourself the most. Maybe it was the dress you were wearing and how it looked so good on you. It could be whatever you want, that’s what initially triggered them. After that, the way you carried yourself and your politeness, your genuine smile, the way your eyes brighten under the light, everything else following after just made them fall even harder. They’re used to being around superficial and trrrible girls (ie their girlfriends) so when they see a wholesome and genuine girl like yourself, they were hooked. And at that point they found love in everything about you.

Very similar to heethan, heelel, and heeler. I will say with heelel from Se7en, I had in mind y/n’s hair being a similar dark color like his, that was the triggering point bc it went nicely with your complexion. Also the y/n had a little bit of him in her soul when God created her, hence her hair was dark like his…like the same exact color.

And for heethan, the y/n that started it all was actually based off a girl I saw in my college during orientation. Actually, the way heethan reacted was the exact way I reacted when I saw her. So heethan was totally based off me at the beginning of meeting and seeing y/n lol. Heeler, it was your kindness. He loved how gentle and kind you were to that one girl at the cafe. Not to sooolt but I think you can already tell from the last TO chapter, heeler hates….HATES rude ppl.

I can totally see Shiloh having a halloween date with Tighnari! As for costumes, I don’t think either of them would go, like, all out right–– but they would still make an effort to be in the halloween spirit. Sooooo I think that they’d go for something up the avenue of ‘forest spirits’? Bc I can so see Mars and Tighnari incorporating vines and flowers into their costumes, and having like jewelry and accessories on them that appear like they’re made of vines! I don’t think either of them would really go to any parties in their costumes, though. I can instead see the two of them going somewhere quiet, like this really cute hole-in-the-wall café that’s offering discounts to patrons who come in costume, and just chilling out there for most of the evening.

Yoi I can definitely see spending halloween together with Yun Jin! Those two feel like they’d be so enthusiastic for the season together! Yun Jin would enjoy being able to go out and wear costumes that, although they might not be as grand as the ones she wears for opera, are still very much enjoyable and fun to walk around in! I can see the two of them wearing something some cheesy and cliche but still very cute costumes–– lowkey I can see them both wearing vampire outfits? Like with the high collars, fake fangs and black capes! Those two would be such a blast when they go trick-or-treating. The people giving out candy would find their enthusiasm infectious, and the kids that would follow them both around like ducklings would have so much fun, too.

Ying I can see hanging out with Ayaka! These two seem so chill and down-to-earth, but would also enjoy the festivities a lot, yk? For these twoooo... I can see them doing something simple like putting on a white dress or a white top and donning on a pair of angel wings! These two don’t strike me as types to go to big halloween parties–– instead, I see them both going to a party held by a close-knit group of friends. Something simple and chill, where they play stupid yet fun games together and laugh until their sides hurt. Where they all pitch in and try to make halloween-shaped cookies and, honestly Ayaka and Ying whole hard carry those cookies and are the main reason they came out unscathed. Those two would take lots and lots of photos throughout the night, too–– sweet n cute memories to look back on in the future!

Lena spends her halloween with Yae Miko! Now these two–– hands down, I can tell you these two show up in the hottest halloween fits. Not quite slutty tbh, but deffo in something enough to make anyone go ‘damn.’ I’m personally torn between giving them demon costumes or kitsune costumes so!! why not demon kitsune costumes? it’s halloween bro anyone can dress however they want lmao. Funny enough though, I don’t really see either of them going to any parties, either. Instead, I can see Lena and Yae making the most of the busy night where everyone is somewhere else and absolute going to town on some of the shops. That ice cream store that you usually have to wait an hour in line at? These two get their ice cream in 5 mins tops. That cafe that you basically have to fight someone to get a table? Tonight, these two can sit wherever they’d like.

I can see Nya spending their time with Yelan! These two strike me as people who would much rather stay inside, rather than deal with the rush and the chatter of halloween. They can appreciate it and how happy it makes others, of course, but these two would rather stay inside instead, yk? I can see them doing something like simply putting on some cat ears, and trying to draw cat whiskers (and inevitably ending up laughing) on each other. These two I can see being more chill–– spending the evening watching movies together, chilling, baking some cookies just to participate in the halloween mood. For halloween, I can see Lia hanging with Thoma! I feel like these two would be really fun during halloween and that, give enough time, they could prepare a pair of costumes that make people think it’s professional-level, y’know? as for what they’re wearing, I’m thinking these two could really rock something inspired by the motifs of ancient deities. Now, I’m not exactly sure which deities these two would dress up as because whoa there’s a whole lot of potential there and not enough time for me to run my mouth, but these two would absolutely kill their costumes. They’d have all the relevant props ready and looking so well-made, their costumes would be impeccably put-together and distinct for each deity they had taken inspiration from, but still remains cohesive enough that anyone could tell those two came as a pair. I can genuinely see these two going to some kind of halloween party and basically winning their costume party by a whole landslide! They’d spend the rest of the evening basically being treated as deities, funny enough, and would be asked for lots and lots of photos and would be given a bunch of compliments on their costumes!
