Skye gets along with them great of course#Jonas is the only mf that has his head on straight. He's mostly separated from the fam. removed at the 'heir' when he didn't want it.#now hes a werewolf therapist for werewolves with a small family of his own. he reminds Jayde of her dad. he's around the same age too#SCANDAL: Jonas is slightly older than Logan lmao#Declan is the other golden boy. the precious spoiled baby. Then they complain to us that the results are delayed. Amazing.

Today was scary
#to put this in perspective here#I have never done an illegal thing in my life#the worst I’ve done is jaywalk#I didn’t drink until the legal age#and have never been interested in doing so#I have never partied#I have never even been in the same room as a drug#so being thrusted in to the center of a gang related stolen drug situation#being threatened that they’ll raid my home and harm my family#calling the police and hiding in lockdown with every blind shut and locks secured and barricaded#was not a life consequence I ever should have been dealt#props to me for handling it as well as I did though#info to the dispatcher precise and prompt#held my shit together for the most part I did cry near the end of it#remaining level headed enough to catch Dylan in his lies and call him out in a stern and strict manner#catching him switching topics and cancelling out his mind games#redirecting everything back to the target question when he tried to dodge#I stayed sharp and goal#oriented#I never should have been placed in this situation#but damn if I didn’t manage and resolve it#I did that well

#🐇#i actually don't know the answer DJAKLBJADJFKDA it's really hard to be objective about The Current Hyperfixation#i want to say omori has had a more profound influence on me but i mean honkai is getting up there it just needs some more time to percolate#it got me into reading and very close to writing chinese fic#has me making aus even modern aus and daydreaming about fluff and happy endings#these are all new things for the sunny...#the same way omori got me into horror for real and had me writing outline fics and lowercase fics and the most deranged exciting things#and was the first fandom i broke 100k for but honkai is at 85k now so we're getting even#I LOVE BOTH OF THEM A LOT THAT'S FOR SURE#only time will tell if honkai will stay past the honeymoon period but either way i am happy with everything it's given to me hehe

I'm trying to get my room sorted finally, and started moving my shrines/altar areas to their proper places! I can't move all of them, of course (my tall bookshelf isn't in my room yet) but it's getting there.
Most of them are pretty bare bones still, but I have at least one thing for every member of the Theoi that I have a shrine jar for (I just haven't cleaned them all yet so not every item is on the altars).
The large shared altar shelf is, from left to right: Hephaestus, Dionysus, Ares, Artemis, Poseidon, and Hera & Zeus. The second is my cthonic altar to Hades & Persephone, on the shelf below the large one. I've got a six-cubby bookshelf that alternates between altar spaces (Apollo, Athena, and Hermes) and books. Hestia and Aphrodite are on the top of my dresser.
#you can tell where my aesthetics lean based on who i've been able to scrounge up the most things for lol#if i still had that steampunk-themed craft book it'd be going on Hephaestus's altar in a heartbeat but alas i'd already donated it#...i *do* have a relevant book series i like that could work there though. perhaps#the big yarn ball on Athena's altar is some of the yarn i dyed recently#not everything on here is a true votive- the yarn & tarot#cards for example *are* going to be used but they're still related to the deities. same for the vast majority of books that are/will be on#the altars#the person who made the aphrodite & hades candles also has a persephone one that i'm eyeing for when i have the money to spend#(the person is crow & marigold btw. their stuff is wonderful go check them out)#the blue mug on apollo's altar wont stay there. i'd left some water as an offering & said i would keep it there until it's all evaporated#it's close but not quite there yet#helpol#coriander says#hellenic pagan#hellenic polytheism#hellenic community#pagans of tumblr#theoi#altars#hellenic altar#image id in alt text#hellenic gods#hellenic polytheist

why is everyone pretending like cyberpunk edgerunners is good. the writing is so bad i hate it
#i'm rewatching it for the third time 😋#i remember seeing a post i think from demilypyro abt how 2077 was a shitty game that everyone forgot how bad it was because of the anime#and the anime is terrible#all of the reviews online call the ending sad but it's literally just 🧍♂️ okay so. big whoop.#which would've been great for like to explore the futility of doing jack shit in this world bc it can be taken from you like that#they did a good job of this in the first 6 episodes before the timeskip#but the timeskip ruins everything#and u have to balance how unsatisfying that kind of thing is w the reality of that's just how it is#but NO#it's SAD because EVERYONE DIED#we didn't get a chance to slow down with the characters and get an update post timeskip#and the timeskip negates everything interesting about lucy (my fave 4evr)#and it changes her from a strong independent character that's scary good at her job because she was a lab baby and trained since birth and#an archetype of character i like in cyberpunk (a character that looks sexy without sexualising themself or getting sexualized by others)#(and in context most people wear something similarly revealing regardless of gender or presentation and modesty is the outlier)#wait i take that back she does flirt with david in her introduction scene. but i think it was done tastefully to show that she's confident#in herself and her abilities. and not in like an i'm hot do what i want way. we see her in the same episode being genuine and vulnerable#on multiple occasions. and then it reveals she was just buying time for her group to ambush him#she's a really interesting and cool character guys i swear#but the timeskip takes that and turns her into a stay at home expecting mother damsel in distress wanting to settle down and start a family#and the domesticity is so disturbing bc its like. i guess she wants to leave the edgerunner life behind to live on the moon.#BUT THAT'S SO MUCH DIFFERENT THAN WHAT THEY DID HERE#she doesn't pass the bechdel test anymore suddenly. who is she#they mischaracterised my blorbo so bad#it's like their writing budget got slashed mid show.

something about the way guilt is portrayed in beyond evil. guilt as a state, guilt as a place you're condemned to. 'i will go to hell' 'life is hell' 'you shouldn't even set foot in that hell' but it's not really the hell we think of, not in the traditional sense. hell is where you're supposed to be sent to suffer and repent forever but all of them go there willingly. (that's why han kihwan will never end up there as juwon wants because he feels no remorse over his actions) they choose to stay and let it scorch the life out of them until all that's left is someone hollow and brittle, real person buried beneath the surface in a grave they themselves dug. in that way it's not lee changjin or the water that killed nam sangbae. it's guilt. that's what doomed him in the end. that hell of his own making he never managed to escape. and as he drowned, he probably thought he deserved that too. jeongje's still there until the end but so much of him died long ago. he's a ghost haunting himself. he tells juwon 'if you don't get out quickly, every breath, every moment of your life becomes a nightmare' if you stay that hell alone long enough, that's what happens. at a certain point you can't wake up anymore. you forget how to leave
#there are these parallels between nsb jj and jw#how both of them give him advice that comes from experience#'don't do this you'll regret it' 'don't do this there's no coming back from it' and both times he doesn't listen and ends up just like them#jw's almost a ghost in the beginning like jj but ds and manyang yank him back to life#and then ds doesn't let jw become another nsb he refuses to let him stay in that hell alone he says as much#i think ds learned how to claw his way out a long time ago#what he says in ep14#'wouldn't regret be a luxury for me'#a luxury#he understands that guilt at its most extreme is ultimately self serving#because it keeps you in this woe me state where you become so obsessed with your own failure that everything else gets drowned out by it#ds does the opposite he decenters himself in his mind focuses on the pain of others instead of his own#'this is how he makes himself happy' this is how he survives#he knows that wallowing in guilt won't do any good won't change anything what's done is done he accepts it#he says 'if i could go back i WOULD do the same thing again because that's all he could ever do#he did what he thought was right at the time now he has to live with it#nsb can't figure that out can't accept his mistakes can't move on from them so he's stuck in the past#he dies stuck in the past#'you want to cry aloud for your mistakes but to tell the truth the world doesn't need any more of that sound' you know?#that i think is the point in the end#but does that ever fuck you up how jj nsb and jw (for a while) are driven by guilt but ds always acts out of love#he has so much of it despite everything#and juwon only surivives because he starts acting out of love and care and devotion instead of shame and remorse#beyond evil

RTD is so in love with David Tennant that it makes him look stupid, huh.
#listen friends i dont know what to feel#i love everyone involved#I'm so happy that Donna has her memories back and will spend the rest of her life with her best friend by her side#but that ending felt like it was straight out of a christmas Hallmark movie; my teeth ache from all that saccharine sweetness#I'll be able to justify it if RTD is setting the stage for bringing Tennant and Tate into his UNIT spin-off which seems to be in the works#if that's not the reason it's hard for me to swallow this plot twist with the biregeneration#firstly: RTD did something similar at the end of the fourth season—splitting the Doctor to “give” one version to Rose#it's a bit annoying to see him essentially do the same now by letting another version of the Doctor to stay with Donna#secondly: I missed the emotion in this#I spent a week bracing myself for heartbreak but we went a bit too far in the other direction#we got a cutesy ending where everything resolves through a deus ex machina#yet it’s those bitter and grief-soaked moments are what RTD has always excelled at#when it comes to the Doctor's regeneration and farewells to companions#it's hard to feel much about this plot development#some things should remain final and some goodbyes and endings are unavoidable#the conclusion of Rose’s arc (both from s2 and s4) or Donna's ending in s4#were among the most emotionally intense moments in the history of television#I missed a bit of that here#perhaps if there were more bitterness in the 14th Doctor's ending if he had to pay some PRICE for this biregeneration#(like not getting his TARDIS#being told that the Fifteenth takes over the regeneration ability#and the Tennant Doctor will die of old age)#emotionally it would have provided viewers with a cool punch#without that it seems like RTD wanted to have his cake and eat it too#have a new Doctor and give his old characters a last-minute happy ending that doesn't make much logical sense#I was hoping to feel more considering how much I love these characters#but my main reaction is an eyeroll#on the positive side I really hope to see Neil Patrick Harris in the show again he was a great villain#and Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor is already so freaking great!!! <3#doctor who

To add a little more to that post about how peaches represent SWK and Mac's relationship:
In the mountain, Macaque is the one to crush the peach in his hand. He offered it to Sun Wukong, and when he didn't accept it and instead yelled at him, he destroyed it and threw it on the ground
In the end, it was Macaque who left first, not the other way around. Now, their broken relationship isn't completely his fault, but he did play a part on it
SWK screamed at him when he tried to mend their friendship, so instead of trying again, he left. That's what broke their relationship for good. Not Sun Wukong yelling, not Liu'er Mihou not looking for him, but Macaque leaving and (as far as we know) not coming back. La gota que colmó el vaso, we could say. Stuff had already been going on between those two. SWK never seemed to genuinely listen to Macaque and his promises of staying forever were empty (he never would've been able to stay in one place for so long) and Macaque never even bothered to communicate his negative feelings over this, so when he warned him he was ignored
Sun Wukong left again and again and again, looking for more power to "be strong enough to protect them", and eventually he lost sight of why he was doing it. But no matter how many times he left, he came back. Macaque didn't
