Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) dévoilera un nouveau dérivé du Mono R ultra-léger et axé sur la piste pendant la Monterey Car Week le 17 août, dans le cadre de sa stratégie de grande envergure visant à devenir une marque mondiale proposant des « hautes performances et ultra-légères ». La société basée à Liverpool présentera le nouveau frère du Mono R à la Monterey Car Week en Californie. Il sera dévoilé au ranch House of BAC à Carmel Valley par le président récemment nommé Mike Flewitt, de même que les cofondateurs Neill et Ian Briggs. mountune has once again been hard at work to further enhance the performance of the Mk7.5 Volkswagen Golf GTI. The Stage 1 GTI calibration sees performance enhanced by substantially increasing both power and torque without compromising on the vehicle’s safety or reliability.

Using nothing but the mTune handset, GTI owners can now recalibrate their vehicle themselves in the comfort of their own home (or driveway…). Priced at £715.50, the Stage 1 Power Upgrade is an affordable option to dramatically increase the performance of the GTI whilst retaining an OEM+ feel.

Bringing the VW GTI to life, the Stage 1 Upgrade comes equipped with five distinct calibrations, including high-torque and low-torque versions for those wishing to get the most out of their Stage 1 Upgrade without upgrading their clutch kit. Other calibrations include a stock option as well as a valet and anti-theft option that fully immobilise your vehicle when you are not with it.

The Mk7.5 GTI’s peak power has been increased to 310 PS with torque increased all the way to 475 Nm, respective gains of 88 PS and 125 Nm – but that is not it all. 0-60 mph times have been slashed from 6.4 seconds to 5.4 seconds highlighting the Stage 1 Upgrade’s ability to further unleash the 2.0TSI engine.

“The m52 MK7.5 Golf GTI Stage 1 Upgrade is the latest development to come from m52,” explains Alec Pell-Johnson, Director of mountune and m52. “We are still relatively new to the world of VW performance upgrades but using our knowledge and expertise gained from our time working with Ford vehicles, we have been able to produce a high-quality power upgrade that comes at an affordable price. We are looking forward to seeing the response from our ever-growing m52 community.”
