Ford Vs Dodge Elite Muscle Performance

    Have you ever wondered what brand of cars makes the better muscle car? Of course not, unless you are actually into cars. No worries, I’m here to help bring these questions to light. The two cars I will be focusing on for the duration of this project are the 2020 Shelby GT500 and the 2020 Dodge Hellcat. Ford, as well as Dodge, makes all sorts of cars, trucks, suvs, and yes, muscle cars. For this blog post, which answers the question: “should I be comparing these two cars in particular?”, we will be looking at an article from CJponyparts, a company from the United States that sells auto parts and is seeking to inform people about this topic. This article does an excellent job of providing info on the 2020 Shelby GT500, made by Ford, and the 2020 Dodge Hellcat. To start, a publisher from CJponyparts brings up the Ford  GT500 and how it compares to the Dodge Hellcat: “It’s no secret that the 2020 Ford Mustang GT500 has the Dodge SRT Challenger Hellcat clearly in its sights in terms of competition. The official debut of the GT500 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit gave us a lot of answers, but of course, opened up even more questions. We don’t know everything yet, but there’s enough to start looking at how the GT500, Ford’s most powerful production car ever, stacks up against its natural rival.”(Tragakis). Stated in the quote, CJ is talking about the comparison of both the cars and this is helpful because its says right off the bat that these cars are in league with each other and that they are similar enough to go toe to toe. I decided to use Tragakis’ article in particular because, based on my own experience with both cars, I agree that these cars are fierce rivals. Aesthetics, as well as engine specs and special features are an extremely important element in terms of marketing and successfully selling the vehicles. Tragakis also brings up how both these cars have changed in appearance in his article: “Overall, it’s hard to deny that the aesthetics of the Hellcat are more true to the original form of its mid-century predecessors. The original muscle car lines are still there, staying much more smooth and svelte. The GT500, on the other hand, favors a much more aggressive look that immediately sets it apart on the road. That’s not to say that it completely disavows its classic pony car heritage, but the edges are sharper and more modern.”(Tragakis). Overall this article helps confirm that these cars can be considered rivals as well as just basic differences in how these cars have changed over time; like the bodystyle, for instance. This is a very useful reading to help understand this topic.

Smoking exhaust!?! So last week I took a 16 hour day in >90F heat, at on point going up hill for >15 miles I saw very high temps in oil and coolant, turned off the AC and started driving slower and temps returned to normal quickly no further thought until ... later that drive sitting at a drive through a lot of smoke occurred from my exhaust, enough to get into my windows!?! All I have been thinking about since then is blown head gasket? Piston rings destroyed? Turbo seal on my brand new x47r gone? Well I would like to blame this on my tuner @Brian Tyson, or the turbo supplier Tim Pwnall, or maybe the builder Mark Wadsworth Leak down test 3-5% across all cylinders, compression equal and above 150 on all cylinders. No pooling oil in the hot side pipe. The issue was a dirty breather, and oil catch can blow by, so what could have been weeks and >$2k in labor with out a car turned into a $50 part.
