Star player, coach, philanthropist, legend – that’s how you describe Mo “The Hit Dog” Vaughn. Few players have graced the home plate with as much grit, power, and elegance as Vaughn’s. In his heyday, his looming figure instilled fear among opponent pitchers. Know more about the best baseball coach in Florida.

So Fresh, So Clean: "Stankonia" in LEGO Form by Jacob Salas
Jacob Salas submitted his long awaited piece of the year a while back but now, with some time to fully appreciate it I must share you his LEGO masterpiece. This 30×30 of Outkast classic, “Stankonia” was beautifully brought to life by many small LEGO dots capturing the detail of Andre 3000 & Big Boi perfectly. The flag has amazing detail worked into with, with the stripes flowing in brick form…

MELISSA “MISSY” MOORE
AGE: Twenty-five. BIRTHDAY: June 14th. HOMETOWN: Coumarine City, Kalos. OCCUPATION: Sailor. STARTER: Mantyke, male, Quirky. FACECLAIM: Laura Harrier. STATUS: Open.
BEGINNINGS IN SHALOUR CITY…
Young MoVaughn Moore took a job working as a sailor on a cruise ship to make some extra money so he could buy the boat of his own dreams. Along the way he met a beautiful young waitress named Melissa Smith and over time the two fell in love. One night, with the stars twinkling above the decks, Melissa felt brave and leaned over to kiss him before inviting him back to her room. When the ship docked, they were sad to go. Melissa was was from a small town in Hoenn and was starting college in the fall, while Mo hailed from Coumarine City in Kalos. They’d exchanged numbers and addresses just in case, but they both knew there was a good chance they’d never see each other again. They embraced on the docks sadly, before walking off to their separate futures. Mo took another ship job, hoping that being out on the water would fill him with purpose again and help him forget his lost love. So he was shocked when he came home to Shalour City months later and found Melissa waiting for him, visibly pregnant. While Melissa had time to adjust to the news, she assumed that Mo would freak out and bail. Instead, he was thrilled. He had been so devastated to lose her that to him the news they were going to be forever bonded seemed like an intervention of fate. When their daughter, Missy, was born, he was always the first to rush out of bed and take care of her. And as she grew older, he continued to dote on her and it was clear she had him wrapped around her finger.
Missy knew that her existence wasn’t always easy on her parents growing up. Her father often was forced to take long jobs away from home and missed his family, while her mother struggled to juggle her nursing classes and a full-time job at Hotel Coumarine. She was often left in the care of her grandmother, who went on and on about how irresponsible her son was given any chance. Missy’s vision of her father couldn’t be tarnished in her eyes though, she wanted nothing more than to grow up and be just like him. She often played out elaborate fantasies of steering a ship on the seas on their threadbare couch, using an empty paper towel roll as a looking glass. Her father happily encouraged these dreams, using his Wingull to make fake sea spray for her to sail into. Her mother, on the other hand, wasn’t a fan. She wanted her daughter to go to college and receive an education so that if her dreams of being on the ocean didn’t pan out she would have a well-paid back-up plan. Missy often thought this was all a smokescreen and her mother was more worried that she would end up in an uncomfortable position with a man less graceful with her father, but she really shouldn’t have worried so much - Missy wasn’t that into boys anyways.
Still, Missy relented and agreed that she would work hard in high school to get into a good college before starting her sailing career. Missy’s mother was relieved and tried to steer her into a sensible major with a high salary like chemical engineering or something in the medical field. Missy chose to seek a degree in Marine Engineering - she argued that the earnings were very high and that she’d be doing something she loved. Her mother was visibly disappointed but couldn’t argue with such a solid plan. Her father was thrilled, helping her move her things into her new dorm at Coumarine College and often drilling her for her exams. When she graduated four years later summa cum laude, she knew her mother was still hoping that she’d decided to build ships instead of sailing them. But Missy had already accepted an offer to sail on the S.S. Aqua - a ferry between Olivine City and Vermilion City. Missy worked tirelessly over the next few years to keep up with the ship’s schedule. The ship ran twenty-four hours a day on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with Missy working 12 AM to 12 PM and then sleeping the remaining twelve hours. Still, she tried to push herself to do her absolute best every moment she was on board, helping anchor cars into place and taking care to make sure the tourists were thoroughly satisfied with their journey. For the next three years, she worked a mostly thankless job with a positive outlook. Recently, a former Aqua employee got Missy an interview for a gig on the upcoming S.S. Anne luxury cruise liner and she knocked it out of the park. She was thrilled to give her notice at the S.S. Aqua. And since she’s just killing time until the S.S. Anne makes it’s first voyage, Missy figures it can’t hurt to check out the Pokedex Challenge and potentially meet some new people. After all, it’s the first chance she’s really had to make friends that aren’t from work in years.
MISSY MOORE IS CURRENTLY OPEN (NAME, AGE, PRONOUNS, TIMEZONE)

In this studio photograph, apparently from the 1890s, a young boy stands proudly in the garb of a pioneer. Not one that braved the frontiers of the West but one of those who walked on to a diamond-shaped playing field, swatting and chasing a small leather ball.
The image on the heavy card stock measures 1 5/8″ wide and 3 7/8″ high but it is a large window into the game that would be embraced by every strata of American from its early days during the Civil War to its current incarnation where business and society’s change now shape our game.
But when this photograph was made by the G.L. North Studio, in South Norwalk, Connecticut, or SoNo, as it’s now called, the game was still evolving, still finding its way towards what would become the nation’s pastime for both spectators and players for the next century.
During the last decade of the 19th century, the use of a new types of equipment, from this boy’s quilted pants, one of the first baseball gloves that resembled what is used today, a shirt with vertical laces, were also changing. The glove, shoes and cap, worn by this young player remained while the pants and shirt would soon be seen as part of the old-timer’s uniform.
The A.G. Spalding & Bros. sporting goods sellers provided these items to young players at the time but they were not inexpensive items. This lad, if he lived in SoNo, may have been the son of one of the wealthy families who lived in that area in the late 1800s and early 1900s. SoNo would eventually become part of Norwalk proper, retaining its identity as a taxing district and the home of substantial local history.
Norwalk has a long history of amateur baseball clubs and Little League successes throughout the years. Also, Mo Vaughn, is a native of this coastal town.
I will be listing our young player at a starting price of $195.00 on Ebay. If you have any interest in the item or would like to make an offer, please contact me directly at [email protected]
