Another reincarnation of Mark Greaves!!! (from Mistress Pat):
"I'm not foolish. I am wise...very wise...wise with the wisdom of countless ages. [...] Dearest, sweetest of angels, have you any idea how much I love you...have loved you for a thousand lives?"
[...] But it is you, my sweet...and always has been since the first moment I drowned my soul in your beautiful eyes. I think I must have dreamed you all my life...and now my dream has come true." He tried to draw her closer. "You belong to me...you know you do. We will have such a wonderful life together, my queen."
Mistress Pat by L. M. Montgomery
vs:
"You do not understand me. You are puzzled—your bewilderment becomes you. Again I say a wonderful moment. To come enraged—and behold divinity. To realize as soon as I saw you that you were meant for me and me alone."
Emily wished somebody would come in. This was getting nightmarish.
"It is absurd to talk so," she said shortly. "We are strangers—"
"We are not strangers," he interrupted. "We have loved in some other life, of course. And our love was a violent, gorgeous thing—a love of eternity. I recognized you as soon as I entered. As soon as you have recovered from your sweet surprise you will realize this, too. When can you marry me?"
Ok but. I'm thinking about "we're all patriots here" in season 1 vs Ted yelling at the 'news' on tv in the season 4 finale. What if Ted doesn't actually trust the government? Because, his trusting government lines are always said in a way where we're supposed to dismiss them as ironic untruths, but what if he knows they're ironic untruths? What if he's just staying under the radar?
We've noticed that Ted gets PTSD from the fireworks (or in any case reacts strongly to them) in season 3. This, plus his patriotism, has made some people think he was a soldier. And, maybe he was in the army. But remember how Hopper was in the army, mixing up agent orange for the government? A soldier, but involved in things other than war.
MKULTRA, and experiments like them, weren't looking to expand the mind for kicks. They were looking to create superhuman spies and soldiers. Army weapons. It's very possible that Ted, an army man, was experimented on to be made 'stronger', but it 'backfired', leaving him in a state similar to Terry, but not nearly as severe. But like how Hopper wasn't affected by agent orange himself, Ted being experimented on didn't change him personally. But it did change his children.
Now, I'm not thinking that Nancy has powers. But Mike, and Holly? They definitely have a weird connection to the upside down, Mike especially.
The way Mrs Wheeler just looks to the side when ted says “no sweetie pie” is just interesting because she’s always said thing or done things that seems to hint that she knows Mike loves Will.
thinking about steve in that first scene in nancys bedroom back in season one. thinking about how goofy and flirty and charming and playful he was being. thinking about him being like that with eddie, and how eddie would react to that version of steve. the whole talking in a silly voice, acting as that stuffed bear, the whole “bad steve :( don’t do that to miss nancy :( “ and “you are beautiful nancy wheeler”.
eddie plays dnd, even more so, he DMs dnd games, he stands up on tables in cafeterias and makes big theatrical scenes to rant about issues he has strong stances on — that man knows how to put on a show, and enjoys to watch one too. see: immediately accepting erica into hellfire as a replacement after seeing her go on one of her tangents, showing off her attitude and how she isn’t afraid to get in your face to get her way. he LOVESS that shit. lives for it. seeks it out. so when steve starts getting like that around him he would just crumble immediately i just know it.
I don't want Mike and Will to get Murrayed.. I *need* them to get Clarked.
Like Mr Clarke has known them since they were 12 and obviously knows them very well. He's literally the sweetest and I feel like the boys trust him and his opinion a lot (even years later) so him talking to them and telling them it's ok would be so cute 😭
Wait, so powers are thought to be gotten from parents. For example, Henry from Virginia, and El from Terry. Now, with these examples, one can draw the conclusion that it's strictly matrilineal, but there's no evidence that if Mike has powers, he must have got them from Karen.
Original thought of making this post: If the "Henry is Mike's father" theory is true, then that would explain why Mike has powers. Powers wouldn't necessarily be like the parent's, appearing sort of like how apple breeds appear from seeds.
But, mentioning Terry made me think of something. What character do we also see rarely, if ever, moving from his chair? What character do we primarily see just watching TV, not being involved. What character is so similar that his first name has the same first two letters as Terry's?
Ted Wheeler. Maybe he was involved in some MKULTRA experiments too.
