This past week self care has been high up on my agenda so that I’m as relaxed and focused as possible for the Summer Groove event next week. I started the week in a hot tub we hired from a last minute cancellation so got it at a reduced price. Winner! You know I love to be in the water. 🥰 Then I’m ending the week back in real life. I’m waking up from a hotel in Birmingham after having a night out. I know. I met some lovely inspirational people that are changing the world. I stepped up and out of my comfort zone and went to @creativsas book launch by myself. Something I wouldn’t have even dreamt of a couple of years ago. I met up with my incredible friends who until yesterday only lived inside my phone. When you are heading towards big events like next week or the summer holidays it’s important to make sure you head into them with a full mug! Can you imagine everyone else at the cafe drinking a brew and you get only a couple of drops of your favourite cuppa? How deflated would you feel. Sled care / wellbeing what ever you call it is so important. Jumping on Summer Groove could act as a bit of self care. Taking time for you. Connecting with others. One more sleep until Ed Sheeran 🙌🏻😁👍🏻🤩👏🏻 (there’s no emoji adequate enough to show how bloody excited I am!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One more sleep until our first child free night since becoming parents 2 years & 4 months ago. I know some parents don’t like leaving their kids overnight but I am so ready. So so ready! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I NEED this. I NEED the two nights of uninterrupted sleep. I NEED to go to the toilet alone. I NEED to carrying a purse not lug a massive baby bag. I NEED to only worry about what I’m going to eat not if two little people will like it. And I most definitely NEED time with my husband. To be a couple, to be husband & wife not Mum & Dad. To focus on each other not our son & daughter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If I am honest I am actually excited to leave my kids. And yes that might sound selfish but I know I’ll be a better Mum when I return. I am sure this break will make me less yellie snappy grumps Mum and more laughing fun playful Mum.
