Hey y'all, just figured I'd let y'all know about something that's been going on in "Canada" lately.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The RCMP is planning on disposing the evidence of the victims of Robert Pickton, one of Canada's most notorious serial killers, with most of them being indigenous women and/or sex workers and/or addicts; there were also a few Black women that have gone missing and/or murdered, as well.
For more information on the victims, here's a list of a few of them. Just be warned it's very graphic & tragic. This is important because today, on December 17th annually, is The International Day To End Violence Against Sex Workers.
Advocates, academics, indigenous women's groups & lawyers have repeatedly said that this is a violation of human rights and it's extremely telling that the RCMP is trying to borderline cover this up and dispose of evidence when it's not even just Pickton who did this, he's stated that there were others involved and people who knew about what happened and nothing's being done about it. It's genuinely horrific that this is even being considered, and the victims and the families of the victims deserve better, especially the lives of indigenous, black and/or sex workers, because the fact that this is even being considered is basically telling them that their lives — these women's lives, but also the lives of Native women, Black women, addicts and sex workers — don't matter. It's fucking disgusting, especially as a reconnecting two spirited person.
Please keep the victims & their families in mind!!

thinking real hard rn.
So in "Hold Them Down" the suitors plot to murder Telemachus and assault Penelope. But in king we hear Amphinomus say
"Damn!
He's more cunning than I assumed!
While we were busy plotting,
He hid our weapons inside this room!
So does this mean that Odysseus is present during "Hold Them Down"?? Probably as a beggar. And judging by how "King" begins with the suitors already being slaughtered (i'm going only by the snippets we have so far), my guess is that "Hold Them Down" will end with Odysseus stringing the bow and shooting Antinous. So does that mean that Odysseus heard what they planned to do to his wife and son? Because holy shit.

How to Introduce yourself properly
Odysseus (to Polyphemus): My name is Nobody. Ha! Gotcha! Now do remember me, I’m the reigning king of Ithaca
Odysseus! ❎
Odysseus (to Athena): Wow, this is Ithaca? You know what? I’ve never been to this place! I’m just a Cretan, dropped here by a bunch of Phoenicians after I ran away from Crete cuz I murdered the prince Orsilochus
 ✅
Odysseus (to Eumaeus): Yeah I’m from Crete. Castor was the father of me and my brothers. King Idomeneus and I led the troops to Ilium. Hell, back then I was the third leader after Odysseus and Menelaus. After the war me and my bros came to Egypt from Crete, and boy isn’t that a long story? I even got tricked by a Phoenician! Anyway I stayed in Egypt for 7 years, Phoenicia for 1 year, and then I fricking drifted to Thesprotia where I heard the news of Odysseus’s return. ✅
Odysseus (to the suitors): Look at me, I’m a beggar! ✅ Odysseus (to Antinous): The fricking Egypt and Cyprus were horrible. I don’t want to go there again. ✅
Odysseus (to Penelope): That’s right, I’m a Cretan. The name’s Aethon, son of Deucalion, brother of King Idomeneus. Back then I was young and didn’t go to Ilium. That’s why I received Odysseus who dropped by to see his good bro Idomeneus before heading for Troy. I can even tell you what clothes he was wearing! Listen ma’am, Odysseus is coming back soon. Last time I heard he was on Thesprotia, and I swear to gods he’ll be back by the end of this month
❎ Odysseus (also to Penelope): Hey look, I stringed the bow, shot through 12 axes and a lot of skulls, now I’m the one who spent 10 long years trying to make it home, and you won’t even recognize me as your own dear husband? Wait what? Who the frick can move my olive tree bed??? ✅
Odysseus (to Laertus): I’m Eperitus from Alybas, son of Apheidas. I came here from Sicily. 5 years ago I have met Odysseus. Oops, sorry dad. I’m Odysseus himself. ✅

You must survive for one week.
This takes place in a nonspecific Rome of no particular era.
The participants are the imperial families themselves and their closest confidants, plus you. (So Tiberius spawns in with Sejanus, Hadrian with Antinous, Elagabalus with that gladiator, etc.)
While infighting is allowed and, in many cases, inevitable, all participants will consider your salvation or murder their ultimate objective.
The Praetorian Guard and the mob exist and start off neutral, but can potentially be swayed to one side or the other by a popular or persuasive figure.
The Contrarian Option gets you the five Pre-Severan non-dynastic emperors who actually controlled the city of Rome at some point (Galba, Otho, Vitellius, Pertinax, and Didius Julianus).

THIS DAY IN GAY HISTORY
based on: The White Crane Institute's 'Gay Wisdom', Gay Birthdays, Gay For Today, Famous GLBT, glbt-Gay Encylopedia, Today in Gay History, Wikipedia, and more
 January 24
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
41 AD – Roman Emperor Caligula is assassinated at the Palatine Games by his own officers after a reign of only four years. He was noted for his madness and cruelty including arbitrary murder and arbitrary sex encounters with men, women, and animals, including forcing his officers into regular sex bouts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hadrian & Antinous
76 AD – The Roman Emperor, Stoic and Epicurean philosopher Publius Aelius Traianus Hadrianus or as he has come down to us, Hadrian was born in Spain. Hadrian was the third of the "Five Good Emperors". His reign had a faltering beginning, a glorious middle, and a tragic conclusion.
He is considered by many historians as the most versatile of all the Roman Emperors. He liked to display knowledge of all intellectual and artistic fields. Above all, Hadrian patronized the arts: Hadrian's Villa at Tibur (Tivoli) was the greatest Roman example of an Alexandrian garden, recreating a sacred landscape, lost in large part to the despoliation of the ruins by the Cardinal d'Este who had much of the marble removed to build Villa d'Este. In Rome, the Pantheon, originally built by Agrippa but destroyed by fire in 80, was rebuilt under Hadrian in the domed form it retains to this day. It is among the best preserved of Rome's ancient buildings and was highly influential to a many of the great architects of the Italian Renaissance and Baroque periods.
Today we recall his abiding love of Antinous, his eromenos (boy lover), who he honored so greatly in death. It was while visiting Claudiopolis that Hadrian espied the beautiful Antinous, a young boy who was destined to become the emperor's eromenos — his beloved. Sources say nothing about when Hadrian met Antinous, however, there are depictions of Antinous that shows him as a young man of twenty or so. They became inseparable companions and carried out one of the most storied love affairs of history.
Tumblr media
Hadrian and Antinous in Egypt
In October 130 AD, while Hadrian and his entourage were sailing on the Nile, Antinous drowned, for unknown reasons. though accident, suicide, murder or religious sacrifice have all been postulated. After Antinous' death, Hadrian's grief knew no bounds, causing the most extravagant respect to be paid to his memory. Cities were founded in his name, medals struck with his effigy, and statues erected to him in all parts of the empire.
Following the example of Alexander (who sought divine honors for his lover, Hephaistion, when he died), Hadrian had Antinous proclaimed a god. Temples were built for his worship in Bithynia, Mantineia in Arcadia, and Athens, festivals celebrated in his honour and oracles delivered in his name. The city of Antinopolis or Antinoe was founded on the ruins of Besa where he died. One of Hadrian's attempts at extravagant remembrance failed, when the proposal to create a constellation of Antinous being lifted to heaven by an eagle (the constellation Aquila) failed of adoption. Legend was that his likeness was placed over the face of the Moon.
Hadrian died in 138 on the tenth day of July, in his villa at Baiae at age 62.

Frederick II & Voltaire
1712 – The Prussian King Frederick II, aka Frederick the Great, was born. (d.1786) Interested primarily in the arts during his youth, Frederick unsuccessfully attempted to flee from his authoritarian father, the "Soldier-King" Frederick William I. Young Frederick persuaded his lover, Hans von Katte, a Lieutenant in the Royal Guard, to help him flee the king's ruthless domination. They were captured and von Katte was sentenced to death. The prince was ordered to be present at von Katte's execution by sword.
For another ten years Frederick had to live under the yoke of his tyrannical father and accept his arrangements for a marriage that was probably never consummated. (Upon his father's death in 1740, Frederick immediately separated from his wife, Elizabeth Christine of Brunswick.)
Frederick was a proponent of enlightened absolutism. For years he was a correspondent of Voltaire, with whom the king had a turbulent friendship. Voltaire was later to write a book exposing Frederick's homosexuality, but it was published only in 1784, six years after its author's death. In his correspondence with Voltaire, Frederick early on evinced a great interest in what we would today call gay culture. In an astonishingly open fashion, this interest was encouraged by Voltaire.
It was not only through literature that Frederick extolled homosexuality. He collected ancient artwork, notably ancient carved gemstones picturing nude athletes and the Adoring Youth, a Hellenistic bronze that had previously belonged to another famous homosexual general, Prince Eugene of Savoy, which he placed in view of his library window. He commissioned frescoes of Ganymede for his palaces; and, in 1768, inspired by Voltaire's poem bearing that title, had a Temple of Friendship built in his garden at Potsdam, inscribed with the names of lovers and friends of antiquity, such as Orestes and Pylades and Nisus and Euryalus.
Apart from Katte, a few of Frederick's great loves are known: Fredersdorf, the handsome guard assigned to him after his escape, who eventually became his Majordomo; Count Algarotti, the seductive Italian writer; and the abbé Bastiani, a Venetian who was made Canon of Breslaw (Wroclaw) Cathedral and who did not hesitate to show his compatriot Casanova the love letters he had received from the king.
Close to him also, but showing the same tastes in a more outrageous manner, was his brother Prince Henry. Voltaire called him a Potsdamite (that is, a Sodomite), and he was reputed to recruit only homosexuals in his regiments.
The philosopher Diderot, well informed and not prone to exaggeration, wrote in March 1760 a note on Frederick in which he says: "The only one thing that this admirable flute player was missing was a mouthpiece that should have been a little cleaner." He also penned a poem entitled ParallÚle between Caesar and Frederick (undated) that includes the statement: "Caesar was generous, Frederick is miserly. When I compare them I see but one point in common, namely that they were both buggers. But there wasn't a Roman lady who was worthwhile with whom Caesar did not sleep, whereas His Prussian Majesty never touched a woman, not even his own wife."
The works of NiccolĂČ Machiavelli, such as "The Prince," were considered a guideline for the behavior of a king in Frederick's age. In 1749, Frederick finished his Anti-Machiavel — an idealistic writing in which he opposes Machiavelli. It was published anonymously in 1740, but Voltaire distributed it in Amsterdam to great popularity. Under Frederick, Immanuel Kant published religious writings in Berlin which would have been censored elsewhere in Europe.
Frederick had famous buildings constructed in his capital, Berlin, most of which still exist today, such as the Berlin State Opera, the Royal Library, St. Hedwig's Cathedral, the French and German Cathedrals on the Gendarmenmarkt, and Prince Henry's Palace (now the site of Humboldt University). However, the king preferred spending his time in his summer residence Potsdam, where he built the palace of Sanssouci, the most important work of Northern German rococo. Sanssouci, which translates from French as "carefree" or "without worry", was a refuge for Frederick, where he surrounded himself with freethinking men—no women were allowed—many of whom, such as Count Algarotti or the philosopher La Mettrie, were homosexual. Voltaire describes the utter freedom of their suppers there (for instance, discussing Plato's theory of the Androgynes) and the exact way in which Frederick would pick handsome soldiers for his sexual "schoolboy games."
Near the end of his life Frederick grew increasingly solitary. His circle of male friends at Sanssouci gradually died off without replacements, and Frederick became increasingly critical and arbitrary, to the frustration of the civil service and officer corps. The populace of Berlin always cheered the king when he returned to the city from provincial tours or military reviews, but Frederick took no pleasure from his popularity with the common folk, preferring instead the company of his pet Italian greyhounds, whom he referred to as his 'marquises de Pompadour' as a jibe at the French royal mistress. Frederick died in an armchair in his study in the palace of Sanssouci on 17 August 1786.

1746 – Gustav III was King of Sweden from 1771 until his death. (d.1792) He was the eldest son of King Adolph Frederick and Louisa Ulrika of Prussia, she a sister of Frederick the Great of Prussia. (See above)
Gustav was educated under the care of two governors who were amongst the most eminent Swedish statesmen of the day, Carl Gustaf Tessin and Carl Fredrik Scheffer; but he owed most perhaps to the poet and historian Olof von Dalin. His education was far more liberal than that of his uncle, Frederick the Great.
On the whole, Gustav cannot be said to have been well educated, but he read very widely; there was scarcely a French author of his day with whose works he was not intimately acquainted;and his enthusiasm for the new French ideas of enlightenment was sincere.
A vocal opponent of abuses by the nobility, he seized power from the government in a coup d'état in 1772, ending the Age of Liberty and venturing into a campaign to restore royal autocracy. As a bulwark of enlightened despotism, his expenditure of considerable public funds on cultural ventures contributed to his controversial rule. Attempts to seize first Norway through Russian aid, then to recapture the Baltic provinces through a war against Russia were unsuccessful, although much of Sweden's former military might was restored. An admirer of Voltaire, Gustav legalized Catholic and Jewish presence in the realm and enacted wide-ranging reforms aimed at economic liberalism, social reform and the abolishment of torture and capital punishment (although freedom of the press was curtailed).
A patron of the arts and benefactor of arts and literature, Gustav founded several academies, among them the Swedish Academy, created a National Costume and had the Royal Swedish Opera built. In 1772 he founded the Royal Order of Vasa to acknowledge and reward those Swedes who had helped to advance process in the fields of agriculture, mining and commerce.
By proxy in Christiansborg Palace, Copenhagen, on 1 October 1766 and in person in Stockholm on 4 November 1766, Gustav married Princess Sophia Magdalena, daughter of King Frederick V of Denmark. The match was not a happy one, owing partly to an incompatibility of temper; but still more to the interference of the jealous Queen Mother. The marriage produced two children: Crown Prince Gustav Adolf , and Prince Carl Gustav, Duke of SmÄland. For the consummation of the marriage, the king requested the assistance of Adolf Munck, reportedly because of anatomical problems both spouses possessed. Gustav's mother supported rumors that he was not the father of his first son and heir. It was rumored at the time that Gustav indulged in homosexuality. The close personal relationships he formed with two of his courtiers, Count Axel von Fersen and Baron Gustav Armfelt, were alluded to in that regard. His sister-in-law implied as much in a diary.
Gustav was assassinated at a masked ball by a conspiracy of noblemen claiming only to commit tyrannicide, although later research has revealed more personal motives.

1928 – Heterosexual actor Michel Serrault (d.2007) was a French stage actor and film star who appeared from 1954 until (and including) 2007 in more than 150 films. He was best known for his role as Zaza in La cage aux folles.
Although he wanted to be a circus clown, Serrault's parents sent him to a seminary to study for the priesthood. He spent only a few months there before taking-up acting. His first professional job was in a touring production in Germany of MoliÚre's Les Fourberies de Scapin. After military service in Dijon, he returned to Paris and joined Robert Dhéry's burlesque troupe and appeared in their second hit show, Dugudu.
In 1948, he began his career in the theatre with Robert Dhéry in Les Branquignols. His first film was Ah! Les belles bacchantes, starring Robert Dhéry, Colette Brosset (Dhéry's then-wife), and Louis de FunÚs in 1954. Serrault played in the 1955 suspense thriller Les diaboliques, starring Simone Signoret and directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot.
He met and worked with Jean Poiret in the early 1950s, which led to a song and comedy cabaret act and their playing together in 18 films from 1956 to 1984, and in a number of plays written by Poiret. The films they worked together in included Cette sacrée gamine (1956), with Brigitte Bardot, and Sacha Guitry's last film, Assassins et voleurs (1957).
From February 1973 through 1978, he portrayed the role of Albin/Zaza opposite Jean Poiret in the play La cage aux folles, written by Poiret. He recreated the role for the film version of the play, which was released in 1978. Serrault died from relapsing polychondritis at his home in Équemauville on 29 July 2007 at age 79.

1944 – German performance artist and counter-tenor Klaus Nomi was born in Immenstadt, Germany (d.1983). Nomi is remembered for bizarrely theatrical live performances, heavy make-up, unusual costumes, and a highly stylized signature hairdo which flaunted a receding hairline. His songs were equally unusual, ranging from synthesizer-laden interpretations of classic opera to covers of 1960s pop standards like Chubby Checker's "The Twist" and Lou Christie's "Lightnin' Strikes."
Born Klaus Sperber in Immenstadt, Germany, in Nomi's youth in the 1960s, he worked as an usher at the Deutsche Opera in West Berlin where he would sing on stage in front of the fire curtain after the shows for the other ushers and maintenance crew. Around that time he also sang operatic arias at a Berlin Gay club called Kleist Casino. Nomi moved from Germany to New York City in the mid-1970s. He began his involvement with the art scene based in the East Village. Nomi died on August 6, 1983 in New York City, one of the first celebrities to die of an illness complicated by AIDS. His ashes were scattered over New York City.

1951 – Michael Cohen (d.1997) was an American singer-songwriter from New York City. He released three albums in the 1970s which were among the first to deal with explicitly gay themes.
Cohen was licensed as a cab driver in New York City in 1972.
Cohen self-released his first album, eponymously titled Mike Cohen, in 1972. This was followed by two albums on Folkways Records, "What Did You Expect: Songs about the Experiences of Being Gay" (1973) and "Some of Us Had to Live" (1976). The latter two are available from Smithsonian Folkways.
Cohen was influenced by James Taylor and Leonard Cohen (no relation) and his music is very much in the folk rock style.
"What Did You Expect: Songs about the Experiences of Being Gay" consisted of nine songs that recounted Cohen's coming-out experience, ballads about his lover and a cover of a song by Leonard Cohen (no relation).
"The Last Angry Young Man", which opens What did You Expect?, deals with the misconceptions around homosexuality of the older generation while "Gone", from the same album, deals sensitively with the death of a gay friend. Frieze Magazine describes Cohen's "Bitterfeast" from the same album as a "raw and chokingly emotional" ballad based on a poem by Leonard Cohen.
After releasing a third album on a small label, Cohen "dropped off the radar" until his death in 1997.
You can read some of his lyrics in his own hand here: Queer Music Heritage

Later in 2007, he joined the Broadway cast of the musical Mamma Mia!, in the ensemble and as understudy for Eddie, in which he performed for three years. Grande was named "Mr. Broadway" in the "Mr. Broadway 2007" charity benefit. He co-founded the non-profit arts organization "Broadway in South Africa", travelling to South Africa to work with disadvantaged youth for seven years, before it merged with buildOn. i& was actually talking about this w/ els last night but sansa would be treated differently in king's landing not just bc she's a northerner or her family's at war with the Crown or a girl but also Because she's an indigenous woman, even if she has lighter skin compared to arya & jon and has red hair and blue eyes ( & this is why she would find solidarity with aurane waters & really anyone who's dornish or is seen as more of an outcast ). sansa is repeatedly abused by a white blonde haired green eyed boy king & his mother & no one bats an eye. sansa is held under the iron grip of the lannisters who keep her in their custody; one could theoretically make a comparison of this to white people adopting or straight up kidnapping n.ative c.hildren with nefarious intentions during the 6.0's S.coop to the M.illennial's S.coop in the hopes of "killing the i.ndian in the child" where they would be subject to abuse and told to forget about their culture and assimilate into the predominantly european culture & is eventually forced to marry tyrion while other individuals use sansa, oversexualize her and/or objectify her for their own gain & treat her like she's not even a person by many male figures in her life, particularly with baelish even after joffrey's death & on top of that the northerners are canonically called "savages" both publicly and in private (sound familiar? lmao); this is also not a coincidence. some of the abuse sansa is subjected to is inherently attributed to sexism, misogyny & particular antinative misogyny based upon her gender & her race & the racism she's faced is a key part of her life & is still very present in her life & that doesn't go away even if she does become lady of winterfell & the lady of the vale or perhaps even queen of the north depending on the verse.
lyanna has also faced this, too, on a much larger scale, in the sense that most are still Obsessed with lyanna to this day, particularly robert baratheon who she never particularly liked and he literally started a war simply because she rejected him & most don't even see her as a person but rather as an idea, ned even says this "you saw her beauty but not the iron underneath"; her father, rickard and her brother, brandon, try to save her after they hear the news and they are both burned alive in court of the red keep and once again, no one bats an eye and everyone watched while indigenous men are murdered in the most gruesome way possible; the same applies to eddard stark years later before the sept of baelor, another indigenous man dead and everyone in the crowd cheers as arya and sansa watch on in horror.
it's the same thing with katniss, in both her canon thg verses & other aus. katniss is treated differently than peeta is, particularly because she's brown skinned, has dark eyes and is undoubtedly a visible indigenous woman with traditional native features; this is even touched on in the books that the movies don't even talk about.
clementine experiences this too on top of mysogynoir — misogyny against black women based on race & gender; she's been parentified for literally as long as she can remember and she's expected to be that way and be strong 24/7 bc she's a Strong Black Womanℱ & unfortunately whether subconsciously or not black girls are usually subjected to being more adultified than their white peers all the while that's slowly crushing her bc at the end of the day she need someone to take care of HER for a change.
these are all things i& write about & address On Purpose. make no mistake: this blog incorporates themes of racism & sexism towards woc, especially towards native women, femmes & two spirits & i won't be ignoring these issues nor disrespect my past & my communities by ignoring these issues.

Antinous
Emperor Hadrian apparently was openly gay and had a gorgeous commoner boyfriend, Antinous. They were a happy couple for many years till one night Antinous, still just in his 20’s, was murdered. A grieving Hadrian commissioned statues of Antinous and had them placed all over the empire as a tribute to his love. OK, so that’s the abbreviated version. You’ll see and read more about this ancient love story in future posts.

And right after the Ravenwood students is the mercenary crew, the Shatterhands! Compared to the Young Wizard-role all the students play, however, these guys are more like the Boochbeard and Gandry to the actual Young Pirate, Ariele! As the (anti) heroes of the El Dorado quest, all of them also come from worlds that correlate with the in-game b/c a lot of their narratives have a lot to do with past relationships and revenge!
Tumblr media
Julien Eastwick:
Age- 19-22
Orientation- cis-man, bisexual
Role- captain
Interests- gambling, music theory, locksport
Personality- He's a laid-back guy who often likes to go with the flow, so he doesn't take a lot of things seriously even if it's something like his leadership position. On the inside, however, he has a truly calculating, ruthless character who's always looking for any opportunity to use to his advantage no matter what the consequences may be. Attempt to cross him and he'll pay you back in the worst ways possible, rumors have it that if you don't have gold or useful information, then he'll just take your limbs as his payment.
Narrative- He was born to the most infamous assassin's guild of Scrimshaw, the Rat Kings, and was raised for the sole purpose of taking after his father and becoming the heir. He would escape that lifestyle by killing him and the whole clan, and move onto becoming a member of the Frog Mob, courtesy of the enforcer who'd become his mentor, Illuminée. For years, he wouldn't talk about her death or how much it still effected him, up until he finds out that her partner, Bob Carrington, had a hand in her doom and so murders him for it. In the second arc, he would learn how to compromise and loosen up on his fixated, single-minded approach towards missions, and incorporate a more spontaneous aspect to his fighting style.
Tumblr media
Titania Xandros:
Age- 19-22
Orientation- cis-woman, lesbian
Role- 2nd-in-command
Interests- large parties, philosophy, sweets
Personality- She's a loud, gruff sort who likes to party and have fun wherever she goes, so she can often be seen downing shots at a tavern with a gaggle of women. But though she can usually be crude and provoking, she's also a brilliant strategist who knows how to utilize various resources and different surroundings to her advantage. She's a fighter you really need to watch out for because aside from her being skilled in military-styled combat, she won't hesitate to use low, dirty tricks to help her gain the upper-hand.
Narrative- She came from a noble family who were known for their lineage of war heroes, but due to the disability in her right leg, she was disparaged and treated as a dirty secret. She still strove to prove herself as worthy to them, but her hopes of achieving that were dashed when her cousin, Antinous, used her as a scapegoat for his treasonous acts. Now, she wants nothing more than to make him pay for it, leading the crew to get close to King Odysseus and convince him to let her fight, and strip Antinous of everything he was worth. In the second arc, she and Zakhi would both learn how to go against their usual heavy-handed and methodical styles, and engage in combat that is more measured and quick-thinking.
Tumblr media
Zakhi Holystone:
Age- 19-22
Orientation- cis-man, pansexual
Role- tank
Interests- cooking, puzzles, almanacs
Personality- Funnily enough, he's the most reserved, level-headed member amongst the crew as he dislikes attention and can be counted on to keep everyone in line. Though, this still doesn't negate the fact that he's still willing to act in underhanded ways if it means that he'll be able to use it to his benefit and reach his goal. Going up against him is a losing battle because it's not just his size and strength that's the problem, it's also that he's cspable of landing very heavy yet precise hits that can known people out in an instant.
Narrative- At first, he and his best friend joined the Admirality youth boot camp to earn money as soldiers, except all quickly went south when his friend died in the midst of a union raid. It only got worse when he saw him be martyrized for anti-union propaganda, and consumed with deep rage, proceeded to go into a vengeful massacre against his superior, Col. Smeagle's unit. Since the crew would go to Marleybone, he decides to finish the job and with the help of the Radicals, he gets him caught for all the corruption and illegal activities he engaged in. In the second arc, he and Titania would both learn how to go against their usual heavy-handed and methodical styles, and engage in combat that is more measured and quick-thinking.
Tumblr media
Otaktay Silver:
Age- 18-21
Orientation- two-spirit (they/them), polysexual
Role- sniper
Interests- machinery, hunting, cigarettes
Personality- They're rowdy, impulsive, and will not hesitate to say the most blunt and mean-spirited things possible, and wouldn't care about whose feelings got hurt. But this doesn't mean that they don't know how to be serious, because once you put them behind the scope of a sniper, they'll become the most patient person you'll ever see. So try not to turn your back whenever you're around them, for as soon as you piss even the slightest bit of them off, then they'll be quick to shoot your head without another word.
Narrative- They were once a member of the Wild Bunch purely because their childhood friend, Donato, wanted to join and followed along in concern for him. It would quickly become a thing of regret for them when, after failing a mission, they got their eye gouged out as punishment and left to die all by themself in the desert. When the crew goes to Cool Ranch, they would immediately seek out a way to get revenge on Old Man Bronco and his gang, which ends up culminating into a shootout with the Magnificent Seven. In the second arc, they and Choua would both learn how to go against their usual stealth and impulsiveness, and fight in a manner that's much more offensive and strategic.
Tumblr media
Choua Nightingale:
Age- 18-21
Orientation- trans-woman, bisexual
Role- stealth
Interests- makeup, researching, moopop idols
Personality- She's the kind of person who likes to daydream and live spontaneously, and so often doesn't act very serious or that she cares for much else beyond looking good. Little does everyone else know, though, she's actually highly knowledgable and skilled when it comes to magic, and can utilize spells in efficient and cost-effective ways. Everyone should take caution when it comes to approaching her, as she'll bat her lashes and sing like a siren to make you forget that she's stealing your heart from right under your nose.
Narrative- She used to be a member of the criminal kingpin, Moo Manchu's group as she was one of the few survivors of his brutal magical experiments. For years, she's dreamt of gaining more power and strength so that she could return to Mooshu and not only enact her revenge against him, but also reunite with her first love, Kiwoong. Her part in Mooshu would conclude by her consuming the Elixir of Power and defeating Manchu once and for all, cursing him to painful internal torment that would slowly eat at and kill him. In the second arc, she and Otaktay would both learn how to go against their usual stealth and impulsiveness, and fight in a manner that's much more offensive and strategic.
Tumblr media
Ariele Imane di Gazpaccio:
Age- 18-21
Orientation- femminiello (he/she), gay
Role- bag boy
Interests- arts & crafts, fairy tales, tea parties
Personality- He's the newest addition to the crew, which must've been very surprising given how shy and soft-spoken he is, and that he doesn't like to be in the center of attention. He can also be unexpectedly jaded as he's used to people not taking him seriously and taking advantage of him, so he ends up thinking that it's something normal and expected. Nonetheless, his sense of insight is unmatched as he's able to understand the nuances and complexities of a situation, and knows how to sympathize when it's most needed.
Narrative- She's the adopted apprentice of famed toymaker and creator of the clockworks, Gazpaccio, and thus has a direct connection to Kane. For years, she's been trapped under his thumb as his very own prisoner, as he was obsessed and believed that only he can "save" her, likening himself to the knights of her favorite fairy tales. She would spend much of the first arc trying to avoid getting recaptured by him, up until the crew returns to Vitalia and she finally decides to face her fears, and go up against him. In the second arc, she would gain magical powers via a contract with a twilight creature she befriended and named Pamina, and so would try to learn all she can about her newfound abilities.

heya! so i read your fics when i was in high school and im now pursuing a history degree in uni and i wanted to ask, (im sure youve been asked this before and i apologise) how you chose the historical figures of alexander and hadrian for love endless? i know hadrian is very similar to harry and that hadrian had of course his famous lover antinous but i wondered if u knew about alexander and hephaestion and therefore picked him for louis?? i just always loved how u chose two historical figures who had relationships with men irl and now that i study classics, i wanted to hear more about ur thought process <3
Whoaa, this is a really cool question, and I'm happy you asked it. Essentially I always knew when I started writing Love Endless that I wanted Harry to be from Ancient Rome. I wanted him outrageously old, because the "I'm 128" or whatever age that usually transpire in vampire stories are simply not enough. My own greatgrandma lived to be 102—you're not special for being a centurion. I wanted him to have an unending, impossibly and almost inconceivable lifetime of experience, I wanted him kind naturally but unstable with his immortality. I wanted a clear juxtaposition of good human but terrible immortal, and I wanted a twin who was terrible as a human but ironically better as an immortal, even though he was kinda still evil. I couldn't find a Roman emperor from the past with a twin brother, but I did find Hadrian with a sister, ironically also an "H" name, and I found out that Hadrian was more interested in architecture and Greek shit than he was with the classic Roman expansion as a general rule—someone that got a flak for being "wussy"ish even if that's an outlandish accusation. Hadrian's obsession with Hellenism really led me pretty perfectly to Alexander. I knew he must have really looked up to Alexander, and I also wanted him heartbroken from a past love that was far older than he was. I wanted Louis to be the reincarnation of that lover; that was always the plan. And the insta-love that the story is guilty of is a direct product of Hadrian also unknowingly being the reincarnation of Hephaestion himself, who was obviously Alexander's soulmate. Also immortals click fast, but that was the TRUE reason they fell so hard for one another.
With all this in mind, I got to work crafting the inter-relationships. I wrote Auron in to have been replaced by the Annalists as Hadrian's hypothetical sister, Aelia Domitia Paulina (forgot to add that bit until just recently cuz i'm dumb and forget my outline details too often), I wrote Alexander in as having not only a connection to the twins that I wanted to write in multiple different ways, soulmate-ry being one where Hadrian is concerned, lust and general love where Auronius is concerned, but to also have a connection in the concept of their makers, who are original brothers that become relevant later (since Conall is the only creature in the world who could have given Hadrian his memories back from past lives), and I wanted Louis to figure all this out with Hadrian/Harry, who'd impressively turned his ways around upon Alexander's death to be the peaceful creature he was as a human. Doesn't necessarily always stay that way, but the two figures of Alexander, the mass-murdering conqueror COLONIST asshole to docile and consistently kind-hearted immortal, and the respectable Hadrian the human to actual menace to society, was too good to pass up.
There's more I could say, but I'll stop for now. Thanks for this question!
There's one more HUGE reincarnation secret that is staring everyone in the face who has read the series, but I've never unveiled the secrets behind who it is, why, and how it's relevant. It'll probably come to light in Conall's story. Teehee.

i'm just. thinking about nex benedict's case &. they were a two spirit child. they were an indigenous child who was beaten to death by three older cis girls. they were native & they were two spirit & they were murdered. & im just so fucking angry about it as a two spirit queer person & on TOP of that their indigeneity constantly being erased doesnt feel like an accident bc this constantly happens to indigenous people who don't "look native" where they get placed into another category. the erasure of indigenous identity & indigenous queer struggle & history is so often erased & it's such a disservice to indigiqueer & two spirits everywhere & i feel genuine anguish & rage for all the indigiqueer & two spirit people children & youth rn. this is quite literally a mmigw2s issue. our heart goes out to native youth. i was in near tears talking about this with my mother an hour ago.
if you need a helpline, you can contact the stronghearts helpline ( usa ) or the hope for wellness helpline ( canada ), where natives & all indigenous peoples in "canada" are offered services in both english & in french, or upon request, anishinaabemowin / ojibwe / ᐊᓂᐩᔑᓈᐯᒧᐎᓐ, cree / ᓀᐩᐃᔭᐍᐏᐣ & inuktitut / ᐃᓄᒃᑎᑐᑩ & from personal experience calling there several times for my& own personal needs, their services are absolutely excellent, they offer services to first nations, mĂ©tis, inuit & all indigenous peoples across canada, whether you have status or not, they have experienced and culturally competent counsellors that are reachable by telephone and online ‘chat’ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this is hard for all of us, myself& included, an elder once described to me& that this is an overall intergenerational community trauma that affects everyone who's native, regardless of skintone, other intersecting identities or status. you are loved. i& love you. i& support you.
& i can't help but be scared that if. g-d forbid something ever did happen to me, whether i go missing or end up killed, i hope my queerness, my transness & especially my indigeneity won't be erased.
i need y'all to promise me that.

Famous people
Tag list of famous people from Ancient Rome and Greece. A few hellenistic rulers and some Etruscans are also included.
And for some reason the page is not working properly. The HTML code is there, but it only works on my dashboard. On this page links are inactive. I figure that page only understands “/tagged/Agrippina-the-Elder” - versions, but I’m too lazy / busy to rewrite the code. So if you want to check a tag, you’ll have to copy and paste it after the word “ .../tagged/”. And same goes for all the lists below.
