thinking about musicduo and qtntduo reunion tomorrow. qwilbur sees tallulah and then they’re both running at each other and he catches her and swings her up into a hug, peppering her face with kisses as she giggles. he puts her down and she grabs his hand and drags him around to point out everything he missed while he was gone, leaving the familiar pink signs that fill his heart with fondness. he’s in a bit of emotional shock from all the crazy stories she’s telling him, but more than anything he’s so so happy to see his daughter again, and his cheeks hurt from smiling.

and then tallulah suddenly stops dead in her tracks, staring straight ahead. following her gaze, wilbur looks up and sees quackity.

quackity looks different. his worn tracksuit has been replaced by a crisp button up underneath overalls, and the warmth of his eyes that wilbur is used to is concealed by new sunglasses.

regardless, wilbur’s smile widens. “quackitieeee” he sings, waiting to hear his own name sung back in their familiar greeting.

but quackity does not respond. instead he tilts his head, studying him, and wilbur feels a shiver run down his spine.

“quackity?”

and then quackity is striding forward, an easy smile on his lips. he holds out a hand. “hello, wilbur,” he finally replies. it’s casual, distant. “it’s good to see you.”

only now does wilbur realize tallulah is now standing half-hidden behind his leg as she clutches the fabric of his trousers. he brushes a protective hand through her curls and looks back up.

“it’s good to see you too,” he says. he shakes quackity’s hand, and it’s so, so cold.
