Day 30: A song that reminds you of yourself

Neil Young-One Of These Days

I think this is a beautiful song, and a good way to end May's music month. This song reminds me of myself because I am a letter writer, and I often feel like I am behind in my letters, or writing "the" letter I need to write. I love keeping in touch, I love the people in my life. I can confidently say that for one of the first times in a long time, I really love the people in my life, including myself (well love in progress).

My oldest sister was really into this song, and I remember when I was younger we sang it for company at Christmas or Easter. We didn't know what a "scrub" was, but we were all part of her choir.

Day 24: A song by a band that you wish were still together

Cain and Abel-Sing it with some soul

This was sort of a local-ish folky band. You know, those Southern Ontario try hard bands you remember seeing too many of when you were in high school. They were really good, and I was upset when I heard they broke up. I think we all had hopes they'd be something more than a band from our youth ages.

Day 20: A song that has many meanings for you

Coeur de pirate-Corbeau

There is the actual meaning of the song in french, there is the meaning I have abstracted through my own translation of the words, there is the crows, the reminder of quebec and where I was when I heard this song first-on an airplane. 

Also, it's evident the video maker of this song had their own meaning they were trying to convey. Music is a many meaning'd thing.

Day 19: A song that makes you think about life

"She calls early in the morning about money I might have spent/It's a classic case of I don't know where it went." This song always makes me think about life. It's a very beautiful, pondering melody. 

I am really grateful that this version exists to be embedded via youtube. The studio recording is embed disabled, but is still very good.

Day 17: A song you'd sing a duet with on Karaoke

Crosby Stills Nash and Young-Teach your children

I don't usually like to do Karaoke, but I know that I sang a duet of this song with my sister once, and I really loved singing it with her. It sounded pretty good with just two voices instead of many.
