Do you ship lawbin?
Tumblr media
I don't exactly ship them but I don't hate the ship either.. Just neutral, I guess? It's such a harmless ship but massively hated for no reason lmao.
I discovered it was a thing only after Sawyer7mage talked about them in a chapter review (good reviewer btw! some sarcasms he made here reminded me that he's a professional therapist pfff) Initially I didn't like the idea but some valid points have been raised in favor of the ship by him and others. Law/Robin don't have a lot going together so far, but public opinion can be easily swayed if Oda lets them interact more. Given the recent developments in late Wano, the chance is quite high.
Only problem is that these two seem to be drawn towards the type of people that are opposite of each other. Robin had flirted with larger and older men who aren't "conventionally attractive", and Law's buddies are all silly little fellows with little pride who like to pamper him all the time. But fanarts like this by @/takara_op did a great job convincing me that they'd be pretty fun to follow as a duo 👍🏼
Oda's depiction of Law and love and his character dynamic with women is an entirely different topic and I have a year old draft meta on this,,,,maybe I should post it some day 🫠 doesn't have much Lawbin in it though

Tumblr media
2. the lady of shallot by john william waterhouse, theeeeeee medievalism of all time it’s SO beautiful
Tumblr media
3. the iconic judith slaying holofernes by my best friend artemisia gentileschi, all the homies love artemisia gentileschi
Tumblr media
4. the garden of earthly delights by my man hieronymous bosch, so many weird little beasts and creatures in there
Tumblr media
5. possession island (abstraction) by gordon bennett, saw this at the tate modern six years ago and still think about it all the time. I love the abstraction here and the contrast/color balance because it does draw the eye right toward where the aboriginal man stands in the original etching in a really striking way and you simply have to love anything that gives clear preference to indigenous people over james “evil colonist demon” cook

Victoria Monét - On My Mama
Major (and some independent) record labels sign artists based on their (short-lived) viral content. Fame is the game. Gone are the days of artist development, vocal training camps, and media training camps that were invested in artists before the digital age of MySpace, YouTube, and SoundCloud. There's only a handful of current mainstream artists that have the full package because they either came out well before the digital age or they pour into their craft for the love of music and take it serious in the digital age. That IT factor.
Victoria is the definition of a fun, talented, polished singer-songwriter-dancer who's been more than ready. Everything about her is smoove. She has IT. She writes IT. She is IT. I love everything about this new record, the visuals, the easter eggs, and the ode to various aspects of Black Southern culture and artists, especially the sample and feature of Chalie Boy. (When I tell you "I Look Good" is my song.) I cannot wait for Jaguar II. Crazy that'll be her "debut" album. But hey, that's part of her development.
SN: I was an intern at Sony Music (Jive Records) back in the late 2000s to early 2010s before it (and a few other labels) merged into RCA. Battery Records was a small label that was housed in a tiny office (we talking closet size) on the same floor as Jive. I forgot the white dude's name who was running it, but he had that tiny ass office reverberating music through the damn walls. LOUD loud. "I Look Good" was one of those records that was kept in rotation. Everyday in the latter half of '09, I would stroll dance to "my" entrance music out the elevator to the intern's office. Them execs were like "oh here she comes."
