My Fairyland Netis is home! Delivery guy came by so late that I was sure she’d end up getting here tomorrow instead. xD;

Anyway, I got the human!Netis as well as the Vampire Dreaming A head, and picked the Minifee Juri head as my free gift. :)

The plan was to name her Amira Kamal, but I’m not 100% sure about that and I also don’t know if I’ll be keeping the fullset or not. P; I’m playing with the idea of merging her with an old RPC of mine that was a hyena shapeshifting type of character (think kitsune how they have an animal form, but can also transform into humans and all that). So yeah, been looking at pictures of brown and spotted hyenas for inspiration bahaha. All I know is I definitely want the dreaming head to be bloody around the mouth area.

As for the Juri head…I don’t know what I’ll do with it. It’s pretty cute, but I don’t currently have any characters to shell, so it’ll probably hang out in a drawer for the time being. Here’s a quick picture I took of it for anyone curious about its profile.

Kind of a shame I ended up having Kaen’s new shell figured out before I got this order made since this sculpt could have definitely worked for him. Alas, I already have a doll I really like for him, so…yeah. ;P

Ok so if you have emetophobia and/or have ever drowned I highly recommend you don’t use a neti pot for your sinuses because it will trigger a whole body panic experience that will not go away for hours.

I'm currently hyperfixating on Pokemon, but my love aint dead just on haitus. I just finished Arceus but my one true love is Johto and I may write a fic for my friends and I to just relax and break my writers block for FNAF, but I'm replaying HG and finishing Master Quest first.

I woke up from bad nightmares (this is typical for me) but also rain which I love.

Ive been DVRing House MD later seasons because I never got them physically and this episode reminded me of Henry so I thought I'd share it. Sorry in advance for crappy screencaps via my horrible phone camera.

He says this as he is with a woman we presume is his date (as typical House writing is we may think his brain is going 5 seconds in due to medical situation x, but hes serious and shes a neighbor but it does seem she likes him)

His GF is a robot (and if you read my FNAF fic Resurrection Seeker you would know why I find this hillarious and on point)

My cat questions my life choices as we wait for something medical to happen. We find out the doll (which they are swabbing) might have a tumour lol They decide to get consent to "operate".

House's half of the episode is his favorite hooker is getting married so he wants to split up the new couple doing usual shenanigans. I almost exclusively watch the show for House and Wilson as well as the medical stuff (inaccurate execution as it can be at times).

They don't find anything wrong with the doll (air bubble in the mold) but the bitch doctor starts respecting Henrys robot (giving her stiches ect) so yay? Then Henry collapses. He can't handle the respect smh

They think its some kind of silicone poisoning that is leading to the breathing problems. The neighbor comes to visit...

Nieghbor realizes its his GF and leaves because its awkward. (Note: she never comes back. Quite opposite of Afton Id say.)

Later on we see Henrys imagination of Amy the Doll but she starts bleeding everywhere and he freaks out (all in his head). Hes hallucinating due to liver failure.

They find out the doll is custom and discover that she's modeled after someone IRL.

One sided love. "She wasn't unfaithful, she didn't betray me, she just didn't love me."

Robots are always the answer! For real though I wanna write this fic where Henry is unrequited. Or someone else could. ;p If you made it this far Id be shocked.

Back from commercial, Henry may have meningitis. Henry mentioned allergies early on. They think neti pot with tap water caused the infection. (For real dont do this. Use saline.) Henry is cured but having second thoughts about Amy the Doll.

It's an okay episode but the 45% of the episode focusing on the side characters that gets worse every season really plagues this one. I like the more medical heavy ones or ones focusing on House/Wilson. Speaking of, House forgets the hookers and stays with his wife (whom he married so she could get her greencard).

This gave me something to do so I hope y'all enjoyed it lol Now back to Pokemon.

2: What scene did you first put down?

The very first scene. Maul killing a creature who keeps coming back, keeps becoming ever more familiar, until the reveal A twist, and Savage’s neck breaks. / Maul curls up tight down beside the shell and gasps, “Isn’t that why you are here, brother?”

7: Where did the title come from?

It's from the poem Myxomatosis by Philip Larkin, and Myxomatosis was actually my working title but I decided it would be too cryptic haha

Caught in the center of a soundless field While hot inexplicable hours go by What trap is this? Where were its teeth concealed? You seem to ask. I make a sharp reply, Then clean my stick. I'm glad I can't explain Just in what jaws you were to suppurate: You may have thought things would come right again If you could only keep quite still and wait.

I picked the poem for the sense of being trapped and the invisible danger, obviously, which mirrors exactly what happens in the fic, but for the specific line I chose the one that comes before it is the reason: the neti says to Maul, You are a ship built without a steering wheel by an evil man, pushed, beset by inertia, and he means that Maul believes he's safe (for a certain value) as long as he stays on the Sith path -- keeping still, in a sense, any he may think things will come right again but that is an illusion. They never were.

This was written for the prompt "doll" on a dreamwidth bingo card originally, and jist the first scene. I decided it needed meaning, not just horror, so I expanded it

SERIOUSLY, EYEBALL?

Are we doing this now? 

 The good news is that this week was GREAT. 

My usual low level depression, which has been heavier than usual since the election, eased off last week. Also, one of my three -- no, four -- no FIVE, dear gods no wonder there's always something -- chronic health problems slunk away with its tail between its legs saying, "later, babes... shall we do August?" (Intermittent sinus infections that cause frequent migraines and often require 3-5 courses of antibiotics, neti pot, and various home remedies to knock out). Plantar fasciitis, arthritis/fibro, and fucked-up GI have been relatively manageable lately too. 

 A lot of my depression stems from the fact that I'm always pushing aside pain and other low-level intrusions in daily life, so I'm just plain tuckered out. I'm constantly having to evaluate whether I can get through any one thing -- a party, errands, a trip -- when I can never know in advance whether it'll be a good day or bad day. So, when one of the low-to-mid-level problems like a 3-month sinus infection lets up, I suddenly feel SO FULL OF ENERGY AND LIFE because I've been granted an extra spoon or three. 

I got hooked on Big Finish partly as a coping mechanism. I can't take pain meds because they set off G.I. problems, so a lot of my self-care consists of variants on Spock's THERE IS NO PAIN Vulcan mind trick, which I picked up from TV as a child (I've had arthritis since birth; the other things came in my 30s). Distractions that engross my mind help me not notice I feel like crap. Audios do it better than anything else, because they provide immersive virtual reality, including sound effects and real voices, BUT unlike a movie they require my imagination to meet them halfway and invent the visuals, making them more experiential. Brilliant. A+ distraction therapy with absolutely no side effects beyond a hole in the pocketbook. 

So aaaaanyway. Last week, Alien Soul / Dalek Heart came out, and the second half of that was almost up to the level of a Heaven Sent tour de force. On top of which, it's one of those stories that wrapped up its internal storyline, but left huge tantalizing loose ends that are just BEGGING for a sequel. 

 My writer brain went wild. 

I've been pecking steadily at the grand finale of Hierophant, and it will get done, but writing this year has been pushing a bicycle uphill. 

 Now, suddenly, I can't write fast enough. The R&D, outlining of structure, and scene by scene breakdown that took a month on my last novella-length story took 3 days. I'm seeing weak spots and plot snags, then finding sound solutions that suggest further story elements, usually within the day that I've identified the problem. Characterization is swinging. Dialogue is coming easily again, which it hasn't in a long time. Instead of pushing a bicycle uphill, I feel like I'm driving a Zamboni. There is nothing better than finishing a chunk, asking Siri to read it aloud, and thinking, "Yep. Perfect. Readers are gonna love that."

I wrote maybe 800 words of fiction in March. In the past week, I've written over 16,000 words. 

Mood? Snapping fingers at pain. Who cares if I hurt? I've got a story to write! The only trouble has been making myself stop to eat, sleep, and get on with daily life. I've even been brainstorming/dictating to Siri while driving. (Which works like a charm, apart from the names; I have to remember that she transcribes Dalek as "doll like" or "garlic.") 

 Soooooo. Intermittent chronic health problem #3 just said, "staying up late staring at the screen? Forgetting to wash your eyes twice a day with lid scrubs and use eyedrops? PENALTY!!!!" 

 I noticed my left eye was starting to go last night, so I gave it a good soak and tried to appease the HSK gods with extra eyedrops before bed, but noooooooo. Woke up this morning blind in my left eye, and it's goopy and itchy -- essentially it's cold sores on the cornea -- and bright red. Here we go again. At least I know what it is and how to fight it (steroid drops, antiviral pills which I have on hand, and various remedies), but now it's back to going to the eye doctor every week, taking steroids (bleh), and all the other fun extra maintenance that makes managing a health problem like a part-time job. I want to write exclamation not deal with this crap. But I have to beat it back into remission with a stick, because complications include permanent blindness, or in rare cases, herpes climbs up the optic nerve and kills the patient. 

 If my phrasing is occasionally strange, I apologize in advance: please be amused by Siri dictation errors. *insert rant about all the Tumblr posts that are screencaps of text which Siri cannot read aloud, so I just skip over them because my right eye is tired* 

My life is a series of low-level health annoyances that can occasionally be quite serious annoyances, and fuckityfuck sometimes I wish I could do ordinary things without having to pay a penalty. But on the upside, unlike nearly everybody else combatting chronic health problems, I’ve got financial support, so I can't really complain. Instead of losing my job or my savings, I can afford to stay home and rest. So I am a textbook case of privilege as well as the spoon theory.

Here’s a look at the pile of hands I bought from DDE from what they had in stock.

Unfortunately, absolutely none of the natural skin hands fit my pale babes due to them being on old bodies that Fairyland doesn’t produce anymore. I’ve known for years that the old bodies were pretty decently thicker (and taller) than what FL has been producing these days, but that thought completely slipped my mind when I was making my purchase. Dx

I actually can force the new hands onto Keigo and Hiei, but the fit is more snug than I feel comfortable without modifying the pieces. Naoko absolutely needs the new pieces to be modified though since she is from 2008 (whereas both boys are more recent with any shrinkages older Fairyland sculpts have gone through over the years).

On the bright side, Lilith finally has hands that fit pretty much perfectly. Too bad DDE didn’t have more tan hands available in stock. Hope FL rereleases the new parts in the future. Px

Wish I’d realized this would probably be an issue before buying because I’d have probably opted for more hands for Farai or gotten some of the old hand pieces for Keigo instead.

Anyway, planning to carve into all the pieces, but it’ll probably have to wait until it’s warmer outside so I can do that shit out on the porch.

Got no character or solid plans for her still, but thankfully she is a girl doll and they always manage to survive in my collection. xD
