I’m gonna rank the couples in The Lunar Chronicles and explain why because I’m immensely bored I apologize in advance. And also just because it’s in a lower position doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing like there are only 4 spots-

Also SPOILERS FOR THE SERIES-

4th PLACE

WOLFLET- it’s the whole alpha thing that caused this I’m sorry like they need a lil more screen time and a lot less calling each other alpha. But I did really love them just not in the book Scarlet. I loved them in Cress and Winter when they were separated and it was just immense amounts of pining and I think they’re the most solid/loyal couple in the series like they’d do anything for each other and I love that. Honestly they’re a top tier couple and I wish we got more time with them like SOSN was peak because we got to see them being domestic and like adjusting I loved it. If they were put up against most other couples then they’d win I swear

3RD PLACE

CRESSWELL-these two were almost in 4th actually cuz they’re one of my least favourite tropes where it’s like “experienced suave guy who’s so hot and elite and older” and like “naive girl who’s never left her house and this is in fact the first human she’s spoken too” but somehow they made it enjoyable like I loved how she was like his sight in Cress and how well they work together. He also helps her come out of her shell and know her worth. I also love the fact that he’s a slut in recovery. They’re also the funniest couple and they also had the most slow burn which I enjoyed and I loved their ending. They’re very fun and again in any other circumstance in other list they’d be higher up (I also don’t like that Thorne’s 20+ and she’s 16 like it’s a lil weird-)

2ND PLACE

JACINTER-ok I’m kinda sad I put them in second and not first but yeah they’re my babies. They’re the best amalgamation of tropes I’ve ever seen like they’re childhood best friends to lovers, they’re forbidden love, they’re sun x moon (LISTEN HEAR ME OUT ON THIS), they’re grumpy x sunshine. I also love how much they genuinely adore each other and fight for each other to be safe as much as possible. They also have immense amounts of chemistry and tension in every scene they’re in. I also love that even though Winter is obviously the most vulnerable one in the relationship it doesn’t feel like he’s constantly doting on her like it feels equal like she doesn’t feel like a child being taken care of because of her mental health. I could talk about them hours like the pining the immense pining and the way they talk about and to each other it’s so beautiful like I miss them sm and they’re not popular enough like they’re the cutest I also have a headcanon that when they both move to Earth Jacin eventually retires from being her bodyguard and goes to medical school and they get to grow old somewhere where it always snows.

1ST PLACE

KAIDER- I love them they’re my favourite book couple ever actually like they’re like the first couple I ever genuinely shipped. And they were perfect in EVERY BOOK LIKE I WAS STRAPPED ON THIS TRAIN WITH THEM THEYRE SO ENDEARING AND PERFECT. Like ugh I genuinely had no notes on them for like bad stuff that I didn’t like. Like as I’m typing I’m think of criticism??? They’re so loyal to each other it’s makes me wanna BAWL AND THEYRE SO IN LOVE IT JUST YES. One of the main reasons I love them is because we had the two of them for so long like in Cinder it was only two POVs (if you don’t count Dr. Erland) and we got to see how they felt constantly and they’re such lil idiots and I love them like they’re it. I also love how much they compliment each other and bring out the best parts in the other if that makes sense like Kai learns a lot from her.They did almost lose to Jacinter tho and it came VERY CLOSE

Baby Fever

a/n: this was requested by the absolutely lovely @jacihayle! the prompt was “Jacinter finding out they’re pregnant!” i’m not going to lie, this is not my best work. but i’m so behind on the celebration and the prompts, and i feel so bad about that, so i did what i could. i’m so sorry this isn’t that great!

“Cinder, she’s just so precious,” Winter sighed happily, holding the small baby in her arms. Her niece, the crown princess of the Eastern Commonwealth, Peony Blackburn was two weeks old, and Winter just couldn’t get enough of her. 

“I know.” Her cousin replied. For the two days Winter and Jacin had stayed at the palace, neither Cinder nor Kai had stopped smiling. Even when their newborn cried, inconsolable, for hours or soiled three outfits in a row, nothing was spoiling their attitude at being new parents.

Peony’s tiny mouth moved, and Winter cooed again, kissing the little baby’s face all over. She was just a perfect mixture of both parents, and she couldn’t get enough. 

“Am I ever going to get to hold my niece, sweetheart?” Jacin joked from beside her.

“Not likely.” Kai commented as he stepped into the room. “Cinder, I think your cousin is considering kidnapping our baby.”

“Like I’d ever admit my schemes out loud.” Winter laughed. “Stars, I just can’t get over her!”

Cinder snorted, “You’ve said that at least thirty-two times in the past two days.”

“And I’ll say it some more!”

All too soon, Peony began to squirm, fussing softly, and Winter was forced to give the baby up so she could eat. Surprisingly, she found herself wiping away tears. Jacin, never one to miss what she was feeling, wrapped an arm around her.

“What’s the matter, Princess?” He used one of her old nicknames in an effort to cheer her up, but Winter just pursed her lips.

“I’m fine. I just… I don’t know why I’m so emotional…”

“Because I made really cute kids?” Kai offered, grinning as he got her to smile.

Cinder, who was busy feeding her daughter, looked up at her friends. “Hey, just think, all this practicing with her will prepare you if you and Jacin ever have kids!”

Her husband said something in response, but Winter didn’t hear as her thoughts began to race. She thought back to that morning, and how the thought of drinking her usual morning coffee made her stomach turn. It couldn’t be… could it?

Winter walked down the long hallways of the medical center of the palace, doing her best to keep a low profile. It was the next morning, and she wanted answers. 

Was it only wishful thinking, and being around the new baby? She’d heard Scarlet describe “baby fever” a few months prior, as she told her friends how desperately she wanted another baby as her daughter, Shelly, got older. Was that the reason the nausea had come again that morning?

She didn’t have any other symptoms, but there was a possibility. Would she even be able to find out this early? Would a pregnancy be able to be detected? Winter nervously chewed her lip as she searched out a med-droid. 

Her search didn’t last long, as one of the androids rolled up beside her. “Hello, may I help you?”

“Could I possibly get a pregnancy test? Please?” Winter’s heart beat frantically inside her chest as the med-droid processed her request, then produced a needle to get a blood sample.

For a long minute, the android’s screen loaded, processing the collected sample, and for Winter it felt like hours. When it finally beeped back to life she let out a breath she hadn’t even known she’d been holding.

“Pregnancy detected. Estimated 5 weeks gestation.”

Before the android could list out the various other pregnancy-related services it offered, Winter’s hands flew to her mouth in delight for half a second, before she was sprinting back down the hallways to the main palace in a very undignified way.

Coming up the stairs, she very nearly collided with the person she’d been looking for. Jacin’s blue eyes widened as she managed to stop just in time. Her arms flailed for a bit, before he reached out to pull her close, steadying her against his body.

“Winter, where are you going in such a hurry?” he laughed. 

“Jacin.” She breathed, her voice suddenly catching in her throat. “You’ll never believe it.”

“What?” His voice took a nervous tone as he continued, “Is it bad? Why did you have to come to the medical wing?”

“No, no, it’s not bad. It’s good! It’s so good!”

Winter snaked her arms over his shoulders, looking up into the handsome face she loved so much. “Jacin, I’m pregnant.”

His eyes widened, arms coming up to her waist. “Are you sure?”

“The med-droid just said so. 5 weeks!”

Winter cupped his face, watching those blue eyes as he began to tear up slightly. “We’re having a baby.”

“I love you.” Jacin declared, leaning in to breath his declaration against her lips. “I love you so, so much.”

Winter kissed her husband softly, lingering in the stairwell of the medical wing of her cousin’s palace. They were having a baby.

Jacinter for the ask...?

Sorry for the delay, my phone was being a pain in the butt for copy and pasting this (and also I hate typing up lots of stuff on my phone,) and my wifi for my computer has been really funky. These are probably half thought out bc my last remaining half of a brain is feeling dusty today so rip fjksdfds Anyways! Thank you for the ask <3

who makes the bed: Jacin, he’s used to keeping everything neat after boarding in such small quarters as a guard. Winter likes to help him make it though, and she’s prone to throwing pillows at him. 

who wakes up first: Also Jacin, because he’d often work early shifts as a guard. Though sometimes he’ll wake up to find Winter making herself tea in the kitchen with a dreamy look in her eyes, and they’ll just sit together with a mug on the couch, Winter most likely curled up against him. Or if she has a nightmare, whether it be a lingering hallucination, about aimery, levana, or any of the horrors she went through, he wakes up to comfort her. Directly after the events of Winter, this happened pretty often, but they started the get further apart as time went on. 

who has the weird taste in music: I feel like Winter would like lo-fi music, but also the fun pop songs on the radio she can sing along to with Iko. Jacin doesn’t listen to music that often, but sometimes when he’s Extra Broody he’ll listen to heavy metal and hurt his eardrums. Winter just walks in like ???? He’s less broody when Winter’s around though.

who is more protective: They’re both very protective, though Jacin’s wariness and protectiveness of her is more visible. Sometimes if Winter is spending time with Jacin, she’ll get a flash of panic, worrying that it will get back to Levana and she’ll hurt him. Then she’ll remember it’s okay, Levana isn’t a worry, and she can be happy in peace. 

who sings in the shower: Winter, she sings about anything that strikes her fancy, rarely sticking to a pre-written song. Jacin thinks it’s cute, but if her lyrics start veering into worrisome territory (like the songs she used the sing during hallucinations or if the lyrics suggest she’s singing unpleasant things she shouldn’t,) he lightly knocks on the door and has to bring her back to the present. 

who cries during movies: Winter... or at least she’s the only one you can tell is crying. That’s why Jacin likes that movie theaters are so dark, no one notices if a tear accidentally slips out. 

who spends the most while out shopping: Jacin *detests* shopping, though Winter loves it. Jacin loves seeing her smile while she twirls in dresses and tries out new things, and he has to admit- some of them are very flattering. Jacin has no problem splurging once in a while on things that make her happy, so sometimes they end up buying the craziest hats and accessories- platform crocs, a wire/ hat contraption that makes it look as if birds are flying over her head, loose dresses that look like running water,, (so Winter)

who kisses more roughly: Surprisingly (or probably not,) Winter. Jacin is typically gentle as he can be, but Winter, having had to hold back for years, tends to be a little more passionate. 

who is more dominate: Umm Winter? Pretty much same as a above, though really they’re on the same level. They’re just equals in love ig? <3

my rating of the ship from 1-10: Hmm 8/10, I really like the ship and think they’re adorable, though I don’t think about it too much when I’m not reading the book or if I’m not look at tlc posts. I do think they’re perfect for each other and are one of the best canon tlc ships (tied or maybe a little behind Kaider.) Love them!! <33

oof this is really hard...I think i prefer writing childhood friends (jacinter and snily are favorites of mine to write as kids) and reading kid fics. both are just so :chefskiss:

oh secret dating definitely. even better is secret marriage! one of my favorite instances of this is anidala. but yeah friends with benefits can just not compare to the perfection that is secret relationships...so much tension

13. Exes or established relationship?

hmmm this is a hard one. i’ve written (’written’- haha it’s only a wip though) one fic where exes get back together during covid and it’s enemies to lovers, but i think that established relationships just really do it for me. you can have nice long fics filled with angst about a relationship disintegrating or a fluffy one shot, so much potential!

Ohhhhh boy do I have a ton! But for what fandom? I have ones for PJO (mostly percabeth and jasper), TLC (for cresswell, kaider, jacinter, wolflet), and THG (everlark), and probably a few others!
