i finally finished bg3
and it only took me [looks at steam]
Tumblr media
SIX HUNDRED HOURS
#merlin.txt#w/ the new computer the rest of act 3 went by super quickly#honestly i dont think my computer and my sanity would have survived all those cutscenes#ANYWAYS initial thoughts:#cried like a baby. ending credits songs really really good. i can't WAIT to start a new playthru. HOWEVER:#oh my god the ending felt so fucking rushed. i was expecting like a typical rpg ending slideshow at LEAST but nothing???#like you only get One cutscene with your romanced partner (a short one too) but i don't get to see what everyone else is doing??? hello??#gale is literally like 'lets celebrate' and we don't get to see the celebration??? or at the very least a chance to talk to everyone again#like in act 1 and 2????#imo i think the most satisfying one was lae'zels. god i love her#also act 3 is hella buggy especially towards the end. a lot of broken dialogue. but ah well#OK NOW SPOILER THOUGHTS SAMMIE DONT LOOK:#the game Really wants you to turn illithid but i ended up just letting karlach do it ... i felt bad .. but like#i found the arc of my tav like. getting So close to going full power hungry and martyr and hero only to finally be humbled like -#'you dont have to always play hero' was really interesting. like doing that and then hearing the post credits 'the power' song. gshldgksmal#guy who is soo miserable abt the fact that all their cool illithid powers are now gone. has to go back to being normal#ALSO. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE ENDING AST SCENE. HELLO?#HIM RUNNING AWAY FROM THE SUN. IT BEING COMPLETELY PLAYED FOR LAUGHS. SO MEAN#any other time i may have laughed but the fact that you dont really get epilogues made that Really sting.#THE FACT THAT THE COMPANIONS ARE NOT EVEN NICE ABOUT IT??????

act 3 is so overwhelming 😩 i am kind of lost in which order to do stuff since there are always timed quests that fail after some amount of long rests 🥲

this isnt the kind of post i usually tend to make (though ive been trying to be less self conscious about that kind of thing lately) but i wanted to post about a new eos playthrough ive been doing! ive always thought it was very fun attention to detail that you get unique dialogue whenever you lose in dungeons and bosses, but ive never really seen all of it before because i either just dont lose or i reset after i lose because i dont want to lose my items dfgjjd
But this is where my latest eos playthru comes in! may i present my two girlfailures nymph the lumineon and sumi the absol of team omens :] i am going to be intentionally losing in every dungeon and to every boss simply to see what happens! i have no idea if anyone else besides me is interested in this, but i figure i may as well share if anybody was! (going to put this under a read more because i get the feeling it is going to be long)
Tumblr media
(also one thing to note i only used skytemple randomizer to change the starter pokemon to lumineon and absol, the rest of the game is entirely vanilla! the added portraits also come from the pmd sprite repository :])
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i also figured id add additional dialogue options onto this too! most the time you get railroaded into picking the right option, but theres some extra dialogue regardless! this one is if you say no when the partner asks you to help (which made me feel pretty bad)
and then theres asking >Wh-what should i do?
Tumblr media
>But you can't just...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
>But I have no memory...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
>But I'm sure I was a human...
Tumblr media
(and then picking either option leads into the normal dialogue continuing)
and then theres losing in beach cave! i tried losing separately to the zubat and koffing boss battle, but the same dialogue repeated then.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i like the attention to continuity that partner recognizes beach cave as a mystery dungeon, considering theyre also the one that brings it up later to the hero :] also sumi why are You saying ow i was the one that was slowly beaten to death by a shellos (it took like 5 minutes)
next, returning boss fight dialogue!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
apparently zubat and koffing get lost in beach cave, which is very funny to me considering it is literally the shortest dungeon in the game dfgjdjg makes you wonder why they even went in there to begin with....
and with that i have hit the post image limit... i get the feeling i will need to break this into a lot of posts

who do you go for in stardew valley? (im gonna guess... harvey or krobus? it feels wrong only guessing guy characters but none of the girls really seem up ur alley) also what skill do u end up maxing out first, if you've played multiple files? what kind of farmers do u end up making. r they self inserts or ocs. hi
HI GENO i was like how do you know ive been playing so much stardew valley recently and then i remembeted we are steam friends and ive also been. posting about it a lot LAWL ok so i do actually really enjoy harvey and krobus especially but ive never actually romanced any of thw guy characters they are completely uninteresting to me in that respect even though unfortunately i think they get to be more interesting than most of the women SADLY. a lot of my more recent playthroughs i have gone for krobus or havent pursued any romance options bc i jist like the grind more… i dont think ive ever even gotten to the point in marriage where u like have children at all BUT when i was very very into it in early high school i usually went for maru or abigail. and funnily enough on my current playthru im trying to go 100% on i actually married haley LOL idk why but i now find her very cute.. i feel like she didnt have much of an interesting like arc? infact i kind of enjoyed when she was much meaner to the player character and wish she stayed that way even after she gets closer to you but OH WELL i am just very charmed by her currently.
ummm ok im trying to remember for skills i think i usually end up maxing out mining first… i love the mines but ive never even reached level 100 in the skull caverns yet.. IM TRYING TO THOUGH. fishing is very fun but usually for the first year or 2 in a playthru its not what i focus on. AND my farmers are literally always self inserts lol i dont play many games w like character customization stuff so when i do i usually end up making a self insert.. though if i ever emd up playing bg3 i plan on coming up w just like an oc for it. here what i look like on my singleplayer file AND then how i look in the coop file ive been playing a lot w my friends which i actually prefer more to how i look in single player but ive been too lazy to change it..

How exactly did you come to love TLOU? I have my own special interests that just happened upon me, so I want to know about how it was for others. also, any other games that you like?
you've asked the golden question so strap in because this is gonna be LONG:
i first got into tlou through part 2! admittedly i didn't play the og first. i did own it at the time because it seemed like one of those games you just gotta play (and i was right) and yknow ellie's gay and i dug that, but at that point i hadn't played it but knew the plot through a cinematic compilation video.
i was intrigued by part 2, specifically because of the teaser at e3 where ellie and dina dance and kiss. though i didn't have a BURNING desire to have the game, me being down for anything gay pretty much what sealed my fate. so i bought the game and played it on my older brother's ps4.
and MAN, was i obsessed pretty much immediately. looking back, it was a fever dream, just me playing the game from the moment i woke up to the moment i went to bed, nonstop...until i reached the point where ellie leaves and i stopped playing, completely distraught, and ended up watching the ending on youtube.
i was pissed, conflicted, legit fell into a deep depression after knowing how the game ends. after that point, because as we all know the shitstorm over the game was not pretty, i lingered on both sides of the fanbase for a while. because as someone who went in for the gay and had to witness the gay be destroyed, i was hurt -- but i realized after seeing anti-tlou2 people talk about their (weird and irrational) reasons for hating the game that i didn't hate the game, i was just that. hurt.
but the game is meant to hurt. there's a reason for the hurt.
and once i looked past the hurt that i felt, i analyzed hardcore, discussed with people (this is the nicest environment to do so), ate up every single detail discovered, replayed, and then i was making art, obsessively so, writing fanfiction, and now it's been 3 years and those fictional fuckers still live in my brain to this day.
and of course, i dove into the og! i remember playing the game while my online lectures (because covid lol) played in the background.
tlou is fully my biggest hyperfixation/special interest to date. i went into how but here's more of the reasons behind it:
i've talked about this a ton before but i love that though tlou has a reputation of being a dark game and people tend to read it as being about "the darkness of humanity", it's really not about that, but love and what people will do for it, as well as seeking and obtaining a purpose, even in the world's darkest conditions.
i love that it's about found family, that joel can't help but love ellie, because at the end of the day, he's not really supposed to be the heartless person he wants to pretend he is, but he's supposed to be a DAD. i love that ellie, despite never knowing the feeling of a parent, loves joel right back. i love that despite disliking him at first, she warms to him so quickly and she wears him down with her stupid jokes and her endearing weirdness.
i love that the themes of love persist through the second game even as it drags the franchise to darker places. that these are the lengths that ellie will go to not to get abby, but for joel. i love that part 2 says, "hey these bitches unhealthy" and that despite love being their motivation (abby for her dad, ellie & tommy for joel, dina for ellie, lev for his mother), it shouldn't be driving them to those ends!!!!
.....anyway for your second question, i'm picky about games but some recurring favs are apex legends, minecraft, breath of the wild, stardew valley, life is strange (watched the playthru only but loved the story sm), tell me why, and i just started horizon zero dawn! the way things are going, i think i'll like it a lot :)

back at it again at the krispy kreme. I, unsurprisingly, caught "miss my boy [the fictional guy that lives in my head 24/7]" disease again, so I went back to [we've lost count of which playthru I'm on] and I think. Tyr and Kaliyo are just kinda neat. So I'm gonna subject everyone to chewing on it on main, lol.
Tumblr media
There's elements of them that maybe shouldn't work out, but in the end, I find them so damn interesting because despite appearances on the surface, something about them works out for one another. They have their differences, but in the long-run, they find some kind of... understanding, I suppose I'd call it?
And neither of them will usually really say it directly - Tyr is used to having to veil his feelings between the lines and Kaliyo would at least feign some repulsed feelings about getting too damn sappy, in turn - but that's... really valuable to them, especially later on.
Now, I think it'd be fair to say that there's a part of him that isn't exactly thrilled Keeper suggests her as an asset on Hutta, and he's not particularly convinced she's worth the risk long-term, but his respect for Keeper trumps his personal hesitations. He sees what Keeper's getting at: she has some sort of potential value, and Intelligence isn't in the business of being wasteful of potential resources.
They very quickly establish some sort of quick impressions that aren't the most flattering. She says she's bound to learn something about him at Fa'athra's palace (and, to be frank, she does - and she's not even wrong) and Kaliyo does leave herself open to Tyr's tactical assessment after they leave Hutta that does leave him bluntly telling her he thinks she's the type to get herself killed if the job doesn't do it first.
So they're by no means fast friends. But they see use for each other. I don't think there's ever a time where he's convinced or entirely oblivious to the likelihood of Kaliyo using her new relationship with Imperial Intelligence to make herself funds or what have you on the side, as comes up later in her companion quests. But I'll also say he does discourage Lokin from meddling too deeply with the crew's affairs. Which I suppose sort of jumps around on the idea of there being any trust between these two, but if you can stick with me, I'm... trying to paint a broad picture. Hopefully.
I think... what Tyr finds is that, at face value, she's "unpredictable." It's easy to write her off as such. Easy to write her off as arrogant and self-interested. There are times where she is these things, but... there's something to be said for the fact that Kaliyo... never tries (successfully, at any rate) to sell him on the idea that she's anything but that. She tries a game a time or two, sure, but Tyr never plays into it as far as her exes. I think what happens is more that they realize the other's sort of... core values. And it's not about convincing the other that they should change, so... he entertains her big talks about taking the galaxy by storm at times. And slips in the bites that keep them honest: when is he going to be on her list of ex-partners that have too much baggage?
And I think what it is is that... out of that... weird flavor of honesty about who they are in their working relationship comes something that can be labeled trust, between them. Tyr's not afraid to tell her when he disagrees with her, but at the end of the day, they'd show up for each other because it's, generally, mutually beneficial. And I think, by the end of the class story, they'd do it even if it didn't exactly net them clear benefits.
Tyr certainly would because Tyr ends up trusting her, in their weird kind of roundabout way. It's not a trust like he has with Vector, or Shara, or later Theron. It's not trust in the warm, we trade our hearts openly and freely between us sort of sense. But it's trust in the sense that I know what to expect when I deal with you. In what I suppose you could really only call ironic, her "unpredictability" is what makes her predictable and reliable to him.
And I think... it is very telling, what she learns of him at Fa'athra's: that he isn't reckless. He has a conscious that will affect his decisions on the job in the kind of work that generally isn't too forgiving to that kind of disposition. Something that generally makes her inclined to scoff at him a bit for being soft. And then he proves consistent throughout their time working together in the fact that Tyr shows up for the people he brings into his circle.
Kaliyo is one of those people, despite the areas where they disagree. And sometimes they clash. Tyr's a brand of loyal that maybe isn't surface-level compatible with her. She's thought him foolish for his loyalty to the Empire, and maybe even more of a fool when I think she figured out his loyalty wasn't, exactly, to the Empire as a whole, but to his masters, to Imperial Intelligence. That his sense of ideals and morals is stronger than a paper-level patriotism he claims brought him to enlisting with Intelligence.
It's foolish. It's soft. It's gonna get him killed one day. They bark about what goes down when they return to Hutta. He means it when he says he can't tolerate her working against what he's given his life to. He doesn't directly say they're talking about Imperial Intelligence's reputation, specifically, but she knows enough about him by then, I think, to know that's what he's really bothered about. He's not some young, bootlicking spaceport officer fishing for a promotion. As fuckin' foolish as it is, he's got his heart and soul behind what he does.
And he genuinely asks her why? Why pick a side? Why'd she pick him? I don't think they get a clear answer in the conversation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I do think they both already know the answer. Because for whatever else they are, they've stuck with each other this long. It's not purely transactional at this point. Yes, there's... still probably something mutually beneficial about tolerating each other still going forward, but.
Look, neither of them probably exactly use the word "friend" to each other's face. At least not a lot. They bicker. But I think, at the end of the day, they're two people that have very few people that do see them for who they are, really, and have actually stuck around. For better or worse, they stick.
And he'll... defend that decision, ultimately. When she gets caught up in all that transpires as Intelligence is torn down around them, he simply tells her to look for her opening, and do what she does best. Because grand declarations of devotion don't do it for her. That's not their relationship. She's self-reliant and she'll do what she thinks is best... largely regardless of what Tyr's input is. (Except him understanding and accepting that is why he has any clout to argue with her about morality at all. This is important later in KOTXX.)
And KOTXX is... not what I ever expected to be The Clearest Show of their kind of relationship, but I did clip together that video of one run through Anarchy in Paradise because it... is a really good show of how they get along. Why they work for each other.
Kaliyo was never going to be the type to be the first one looking for him if he disappeared, or sticking through a long search. And that's... just fine. Tyr never would've expected her to. Frankly, she probably does understand that a part of him was just... waiting for that kind of day. That he ended up surviving taking a blaster to a semi-immortal planet-consuming Force-entity is... Well, no one was betting on that, yeah?
Tyr, I think, is one of the only characters I've gotten that far into KOTXX that has felt he's got any ground to argue with her on - because he has experience with her priorities, and how she thinks. Sort of... natural when you work with someone that long, right? So, he knows how she operates, he knows how to reason with her, knows what she needs to be offered to take an opportunity. And, in the end, there's that...
"Agent?"
"Yes?"
"I'm glad you're alive."
Which... I think is where I'll wrap because I feel like I just sort of keep repeating the same point, which boils down to... they took an assessment of each other's motivations and... accepted that about each other. I'd even probably say Tyr would never expect her to defend him, to show up without at least some sort of token protest about compensation and what's it worth to her, but I also think, for all of Kaliyo's eyerolling about him, it's exactly that kind of stubborn candle-burning attitude about him that keeps her around, at times. Something... authentic in them both amidst a profession built on masks, deceit, and betrayal.
It's not even quite "someone's gotta make sure you don't get yourself killed, agent" as it is more likely she'd poke that at least being around when it happens would maybe be interesting or entertaining. It's a kind of friendship where they'd still say they'd sell each other to satan for a corn chip.
Except Tyr never would. And, sure, Kaliyo essentially tried. And it didn't work out. So it's just a lot of work for probably little payoff to try again.
So, in the end... Friends? Yeah... Sort of. She's not writing any speeches for a funeral or anything, but she'd maybe have a drink for him. Tyr's the one for remarks about deserving better, or whatever sentimental crap he fills his head with when he's waiting on sniper shots to line up. (And it just... sorta works.)

My 4 Sandrock gals! Khryz was was my first Sandrock builder, I avoided using the wiki and we learned together xD Next was Pheonix, who was destined for Logan (tho she didn't know it) so I gave her eyes that really contrasted with his. The backstory is that her mum was an adventurer who wandered thru something that caused Nixxi to have starburst eyes and a surprisingly high tolerance for heat. Put the most hours into this playthru I think. Then Thyme was created, and honestly I blame @vani-candy cause those comics of Mitty and Fang are TOO CUTE and I needed a Fang romance playthru of my own. <3 Went back to Nixxi after Act III dropped (Thyme and Khryz never got to act III, had to delete the files for space between act II dropping and when I went back to Nixxi) Nix is the playthru I'm on ATM, where I wanted to see how fast I could knock out act 1 and 2 (we reclaimed Sandrock year 2 day 3 or so.) Wasn't really locked in on any romance option when Nix had 1 (ONE) flirt with Heidi, next we know she's at our door asking Nix out. They married now. Nix's background is the only one that I imagine deviates from the game's given, as Nix was once a Duvos agent/ almost a knight. Whole backstory there I'll type out sometime, involves her turning against her own soldiers, almost dying in the dessert, and being convinced to live by a stubborn yakman with a heart of gold. I change her eye color after getting Rosy cause they were too much like Nixxi's.

BG3 spoilers to just past Moonrise towers (is that the end of act 1? Or 2?)
BLEURGNS it's annoying me (60 hours in) that my role playing for my Tav has been all over the place. I've just kinda been lurching around not keeping them consistent, because of not really knowing where the story was going, some mechanics stuff, some gameplay fuck ups on my part and just kinda going with the flow.
Like, this was initially gonna be my good guy run, I saved the Glen, saved Nightsong, have been discouraging Astarion's evil lust for power, trying to be good. But early on I started taking the parasites (coz I wanted the in-game advantages), messed up at moonrise towers and didn't save the Tieflings, long rested at the wrong time and didn't save the gnomes in the underdark.
I let the Hag take my eye in the beginning, which gives you a boost to intimidate, so even tho I'm tryna be a Good Guy overall D'mitri is a bit of a cunt because I'm too tempted by that mechanical bonus.
I took the fancy parasites from the emporor because I was like, fuck it I'm all in on the body mods, and I know that doesn't mean ive gotta be a Bad Guy, but the inconsistency of my path through the narrative is annoying me. Also I locked myself into the Lae'zel romance early (because I liked how feral and horny she is), but now it makes absolutely (heh) no sense for her to still be with me now that I'm literally part ilithid!! I also never went to the creche!
I know it doesn't really matter, do want you want and nobody is going to come along and punch me for bad RP, but it's annoying ME!! now that I've just gotten to Baulders Gate, I'm half tempted to start a new playthru now that I know where the story is going and do it betterer! Urgh!

complaining abt how the women were written in aa3
my aa3 verdict is that it was Weird About Women actually.. like very weird and a weaker game for it. i already went over this in my godot post but seriously, it was so weird how this game was more about what godot thought of mia, than it was about mia herself.. like i find it extremely weird that a conversation between mia and godot didnt happen at any point like what was with that, godot kept talking abt mia mia mia and its like... why didnt mia get to say anything to him?? like... shes not dead dead, we get to chitchat with her every other case. why was mia reduced to an abstraction whenever godot was around like what... and like yeah that moment where phoenix and mia's spirit pointed fingers at godot was pretty cool but it was also like.. mia was just here with us?? a little while ago...??? speaking abt "her spirit lives on through you" like no she lives on thru maya and pearl actually. i get to chat with her every other month. why... why doesnt she get to speak for herself at any point??
and i cant believe maya our good friend maya didnt have more focus like Whattt. why is everything abt maya so so subtle.. why is her grief abt mia and her mother and her aunt and having to be the Master not more upfront? same with pearl, shes just learned that she had older sisters this whole time, why doesnt her feelings on tht get explored... vice versa with iris' feelings on pearl! and brah iris.. like i dont mind ambiguity in writing and i dont need every little thing to be explored, but seeing as the final trial went on and on abt "Putting An End to Things" aka putting an end to everyone's (mia's godot's and phoenix's) troubles with dahlia.. it was weird that iris' own troubles with dahlia werent explored more? like what role did iris actually play in the faked kidnapping plot all those years ago? or how did iris actually feel abt dahlia?? how did she feel abt the fact that her sister was executed, and how was it like for her to see her again at the sacred cavern?? when it comes to dahlia, iris should be a pretty important character, and yet she almost felt more like a footnote?? it almost felt like it was more important tht iris was phoenix's love interest than she was dahlia's twin??
speaking of dahlia, it was really weird that she was lauded as this terrible demon for planning tht fake kidnapping all those years ago, but its weird how neither valerie or iris received as much flack for the role they played in it. and while yes it is terrible that dahlia then killed valerie, its VERY WEIRD that terry fawles wasnt properly admonished at any point?? he was 20 years old dating dahlia who was 14 like.... yeah theres nothing to say, thats just very fucking weird. ace attorney can be very awful sometimes. and for everyone ingame to hate dahlia for causing his death like... bro, if u look at this another way, this is a women freeing herself from her abuser. im just very weirded out by how dahlia was framed as this terribly perfect villain, despite having been implied to have been abused by her parents and then terry. obvs that doesnt excuse the things she did but its like, iykyk; im not a fan of how a woman who tried to escape the fey's legacy was effectively demonized and not afforded more nuance, even when we as the players are very intimately aware of how fucked up this family is. pearl and iris, the other children of morgan, are afforded nuance, godot is afforded nuance despite also being a killer, so its like... hm!
and this game being weird w women of course extends beyond the final case... that moment with maya and the waitress uniform was really fucking weird! and the fact that mia is just ok with phoenix doing that really shows that this game was written by a man -_- also i made jokes early in my playthru abt godot giving off gay vibes, and my basis for that was bc it kinda seemed like he was flirting with Every male witness, but looking back at it whats crazy is that well... excluding dahlia, there were no female witness in the entire game until 3-5?? which is so weird... yes theres at least some women involved in each case, we had desiree and violetta and the computer lady, but when looking at the past 2 games, its just kinda weird that women played such minor roles in this game's cases? like in the past two games we had so many female defendants, female witnesses, female accomplices, female comedic relief... but in this game, nearly every female character was tied up in a way to a man, either as a love interest or a man's point of honor. dahlia / iris were phoenix's love interest, desiree delite was ron's wife, violetta was tigre's kinda girlfriend, maggey was gumshoe's love interest, like.. compared to the first game which barely had any female love interests (angel starr and april may are arguably the only love interests), and the second game where the only "love interest" was really regina (which is still gross but not the point), its kinda a crazy comparison.. like there was such a wide variety of female characters with various motives in the past 2 games, while in this one most of them act as a love interest to a man. even our good friend mia became a love interest to a man in this game!
but yeah um... this game was weird with the way it handled its women. female characters became a point of pride for characters like phoenix and godot, it was a matter of their pride whether they could protect them or not. rather than looking at iris' relation with dahlia, the game concluded with iris actually being phoenix's lover all along. maya's and mia's and pearl's grief became a sort of footnote, misty was dispensable for the sake of godot's pride, various female characters were love interests and lacked the more compelling motives that we saw in the past 2 games... yeah..... not great :[

KICKS IN THE DOOR GIF. 3, 4, 9, 19, 21, 29, 31, 32. ok love you mwah
blorbo jail for moji 1000 years! >:) love you too mwahahaha thank you for the ask, i may have went overboard w my responses >.<
3. What is your character’s moral alignment?
for the most part, lux is chaotic good! their actions are not really motivated by any desire to be a good person, they simply stand up for others freedom and their right to make decisions for themselves. you can do whatever you want forever and ever <3 there are traumatic events in their past that very well could've lead them down a remorseful path but they instead eventually accepted each step of their journey and the people they meet as a learning experience. and when they care deeply for someone, all morals go out the window if it means keeping them safe. they may be pure chaos at times but they have respect for the knowledge and passions of other people and they do not steal from an honest working man. but the gods can kiss their ass for all they care.
4. How did you choose your Tav’s name, if you gave them a unique one?
any jokes i could make abt needing to escape character creation after being trapped remaking lux for a week aside, the reasoning behind why i chose their name is very multifaceted. it's mainly inspired by tiefling virtue naming convention, a name they choose for themself after they left their home and is symbolic of who they aspire to be. to focus on that glimmer of hope despite everything and shine for others. they also have a great appreciation for art and a good shiny. and they literally have to be the shiniest thing in the room. "i am a (lux)ury few can afford" etc. lux is also short and sweet like tav! :) i really like latin names and will never escape the kingdom hearts fan allegations (guilty) they don't have a family last name because [redacted] and i don't know if they would keep their trade last name if they had one. they deserve a title though, something badass to match their fury of avernus wifey >:) when i find the perfect one i'll let you know!
9. What is your Tav’s biggest priority or goal?
their biggest priority during the game is to avoid the main quest at all cost. "i quite like the worm and the powers it grants me actually" is to be a light in the darkness for the companions they're closest with on their personal journeys. they want to find a way to fix karlachs engine because she deserves to enjoy her life despite the injustices shes suffered, to make sure shadowheart doesnt feel alone in the world as she discovers who she truly is and to help wyll find an alternate path from the endless cycle of duty and self sacrifice. there is always a way. lux is the designated leader of the group and they won't let anything bad happen to their friends especially now that they have found a sense of belonging again, they wouldn't dare fail them and they'll set the world on fire if they have to.
19. Who is your Tav romancing, if anyone?
oh... you know ;3 the big secret around camp is that lux is romancing karlach, totally not obvious to literally everyone!! these two make me feel very mentally ill you know this. the nature of my own immediate karlach favoritism and her being very much my type lead to a lot of coincidentally great chemistry between the two ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and even though i very much believe they'd only be committed to each other, i love exploring the dynamic of a polyship with shadowheart and if the game allowed it past act 1. they're a sun/moon/star trio and make me feel so soft ;-; lux will be romancing shadowheart in my 2.0 playthru :') if im strong enough to resist romancing karlach again sdfdfgsdfd
21. If you’re romancing anyone, who fell first and who fell harder?
these types of things with karlux can be a bit difficult to pinpoint considering they were instantly fond of each other and developed feelings pretty quickly, accelerated by their circumstances. karlach was never able to think about romance during her time in avernus and once she's free she's just grateful to be alive, she would be content just finding a way to cool down and hug someone. so falling in love was certainly not something she expected- and neither did lux. karlach falls in love after the many cozy campfire talks and the risky kiss they share under the stars. she tells herself what they have between them is casual, that she doesn't mind sharing lux if they pursue someone else but she's really just repressing the extent of her feelings because of the limitations of her engine. but to see lux fight so hard to find a solution, and caring for her so much, that's when she knows. and lux ofc is super in love with her already but it hits them hard during karlachs second engine upgrade at last light. the excitement for both of them to finally being able to touch eachother mixing with the horrors of the ultimatum that is given on her life. karalch could die at any moment and she accepts that, but for lux, who is realizing they love her so much that they cannot imagine their life without her... that love is insurmountable and terrifying.
29. How easily offended are they? How do they act when offended?
i think their lived experiences have left them able to tolerate the petty stuff. in their travels they've heard pretty much every insult under the sun but they draw the line when other people are being degraded or oppressed. they try their best to be firm in their boundaries and what they don't tolerate. this isn't because they're all calm and collected, they're simply too aware of how dangerous they could potentially be if they let their anger take hold of them. this is something that can make them so powerful when they're in situations where they have to fight. but there is always risks and the nature of wild magic requires them to constantly question if it's worth it. and sometimes lux doesn't care.
31. How does your Tav dress for different occasions, like very fancy situations?
every occasion is a fancy situation, what do you mean? :^) lux's fashion sense can be a bit eclectic but when it comes to accessorizing, every piece is carefully picked and considered. they very much dress as a means of self expression and are also aware of how others respond to how you present yourself, using that to their advantage at times. i'm just saying, i think cleavage adds a charisma bonus and you can't tell me i'm wrong.
32. How did your Tav get their scars, if they have any?
their face scars originate from my first play through, i thought it would make sense two thirds through the journey that they would have some battle scars, especially considering how reckless they can be so i added it to the design. when i remade them for my 2.0 playthrough i kept the scar because i like when reiterations of a character retain details in honor of their past self :) this is tentative but i'm also experimenting with magical scaring on their hands, as if their magic sometimes burns right through them when they use their powers or even is rotting them from the inside out when they don't. it's a source of chronic pain they've had to live with which is why lux 2.0 even as a sorcerer makes a warlock pact in a desperate attempt to salve and control it. i would love to explore this idea more but for right now it's just a loose concept that also looks pretty badass c:

petz dogz/catz 2 was so funny on my first playthru
my sibling and i were real small at gamestop, and our parents went “you can pick out ONE GAME EACH.”
and i found this game called petz dogz 2 for wii, and i thought it was a pet care sim. we just got our wii and i really liked dogs, so i picked that game. my sibling, however, really liked cats. so when they found petz catz 2, they picked that ALSO thinking it was a pet care sim
and then we had to fight for our lives KJDFGFDKJG
like. i didnt expect any of that, and anytime i express how much i love the game to someone bc it has *everything* in it, they always toss out something random like “pirates?”

**Character Expo**
I've been playing DAI since it came out in 2014. I can't even begin to recall the number of complete playthroughs I've made. There have been A LOT!! I had a huge folder of save files and screenshots, but lost it in a HDD failure. Luckily I had some of my faves backed up on a separate drive. I thought I'd post some of those Inquisitors here:
Uriah Lavellan - modded Elven Circle Mage playthru - not Dalish - born in Kirkwall Alienage, magic manifested at age 6, sent to the Gallows, transferred to the Ostwick Circle as an apprentice - lived there until the circles disbanded. Believes he is the Herald of Andraste. Rode the Bull. Took the power from the Well of Sorrows.
Tumblr media
Assan Lavellan - Archer Tempest - Romanced Cassandra, convinced her to rebuild the Seekers. Leliana became Divine Victoria.
Tumblr media
Kataar Adaar - Pyromancer and Knight Enchanter, doesn't believe in Gods - though he helped Cassandra become the Divine because he believed in her. My all time fave DAI character. He's my canon Inquisitor.
Tumblr media
Ash Adaar - Warrior Reaver - romanced Cassandra, Celene rules Orlais with Briala (reconciled them).
Tumblr media
Asharaas Adaar - Warrior Reaver - fell for Dorian. Also doesn't believe in Gods. Never claimed to be the Herald. Gaspard is Emperor, but Briala is the power behind the throne.
Tumblr media
Ashkost Adaar - Warrior Champion - fell for Josephine's gentle grace and dueled Lord Otranto for her hand. (I love that duel) Chose the Templars over the Mages and made Vivienne the Divine.
Tumblr media
Kathas Adaar - (I used a mod that gave him multiplayer Saarebas magic in sp so he had some really cool magic, unfortunately it would crash if you tried to enter Redcliffe/Hushed Whispers quest so that meant he had to do Champions of the Just, the Templar quest. I like it, though, because of Ser Barris. And Calpernia.) He did disband the Templar order and had them join the Inquisition as free allies, though. And through the Choose Your Divine mod, Leliana became Divine. Kathas romanced Dorian, and punched Solas. At the end of Trespasser, he told Solas he would stop him.
Tumblr media
Verush Adaar - Warrior Reaver - romanced Cassandra, let Celene die and made Gaspard emperor of Orlais, exiled the Grey Wardens (cus Cassandra said to send them away), Left Blackwall in jail when the truth of who he was and what he did came out, allied with the templars, Cassandra became Divine.
Tumblr media
Sataareth Adaar - Rogue Assassin - romanced Dorian. Very minimal in recruiting, said No to Bull (because Ben-Hassrath) and Vivienne(due to her views on magic) Also did not recruit Blackwall. Doesn’t like Solas. Doesn’t believe in Gods or religion. Freed the mages at Redcliffe. Chose Gaspard as sole Emperor of Orlais. Leliana will be Divine.
Tumblr media
Azure Adaar - Mage, didn’t specialize (due to an Unlock Specs mod.. he used them all) Romanced Josephine. Vivienne made Divine
Tumblr media
Akasha Adaar - Archer Assassin - never finished her playthrough, she made it to Skyhold, was romancing Blackwall, made it through Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts and then I got bored so I created a new character and never went back to her. Don't have the save files any more.
Tumblr media
Alexander Trevelyan - Archer Tempest - Dorian romance, made Celene, Gaspard and Briala work together for the betterment of the Empire, freed the mages, allied with the Wardens, Leliana is Divine.
Tumblr media
Jace, Jacoby and Vaughn Trevelyan - Warrior, Rogue, Mage, romances were Josephine, Cassandra and Cullen (used the Bi Cullen mod). IIRC, Jace went the Templar route while Jacoby and  Vaughn went the mage route. The mages were freed, and Templar order became allies of the Inquisition. Ser Barris became Knight-Commander. The Grey Wardens also became allies of the Inquisition. In 2 of those pt's, Leliana became Divine and the other was Cassandra. In all 3, Celene, Gaspard and Briala were made to work together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kesh Cadash - she's one of 2 dwarves I've ever played. Never played a male dwarf in Inquisition and probably never will. LOL Kesh - she's a little cutie - Dual Daggers/Assassin - romanced Blackwall - tried to convince him that even those that have lived a life of crime can better themselves (after all she did, given her background with the Carta), she reconciled Celene and Briala, allied with the Templars, and allied with the Grey Wardens. She made Vivienne Divine.
Tumblr media
Orana - This was a head-canon playthru. Orana was not from the Dalish or from Clan Lavellan. She was an npc plucked straight from Dragon Age 2. Orana is the elven slave Hawke can save while helping Fenris track down Magister Hadriana during Act 2. My head-canon for this one was that Hawke sent her to the Divine Conclave at the Temple of Sacred Ashes in his stead as his spy. And she ends up with the mark on her hand.  I wrote a good bit of a short fanfic about her becoming the Herald of Andraste.  So in the image of her that I posted, Varric is giving her the side-eye because he knows who she is and he's waiting until Cassandra is out of earshot to ask her why Hawke thought sending her here was a good idea.
Tumblr media
Estelle Trevelyan- My head-canon for her is that she sought something more for herself than joining the Chantry as many in her family had. She asked to be allowed study at the University of Orlais, but that was denied to her. So she ran away and ended up joining the Qun, becoming one of the many viddithari.  Her Besrathari (trainer) was called Meerad, and by the time her training ended, he named her Asaara. Despite the fact that she had left her noble family behind, she headed to the Conclave as Estelle Trevelyan in order to gather information. What she wasn't expecting was to end up with a magical mark on her hand and everyone calling her the "Herald of Andraste."
Tumblr media
Mirisa Lavellan - My head-canon for her is that her mother was Dalish, but left the clan and dallied for a time with a city born elf. Mirisa's mother returned to the clan a few years later with Mirisa in tow. Soon after returning to Clan Lavellan, her mother passed away and Mirisa found herself in the care of her aunt. Her upbringing was rough because she never felt like she belonged. Despite this, she became one of the best hunters the clan had. She volunteered to go to the shem Conclave instead of them sending their first.
