Scary Godmother?

Cant believe this is the only piece of media I know that turned the "skeleton in the closet" into a gay joke. People apparently ship the skeleton with the werewolf in this, bless them.

A decent little halloween special with some unfortunately dated animation. Really wish they didnt give the human kids dot eyes because it translates so poorly in primitive cgi and makes them look like they have fleshy pinholes in their faces darting around.

The art style works a lot better in the books they then do for early 2000s TV animation

this was funny to me like zelenin girl u have been stuck in a dungeon where you and your crewmates have been tortured to death/insanity by demons for like, at least a day now, when John Bootboy gets tossed in with you and is immediately like oh hey let me airdrop you the demon app that lets you be friends with demons. i would freak out on him too

These are circa 2021 when a dear friend suggested watching Scary Godmother's animated movie. I gotta confess: until then I never knew the existence of it... and less that it was based on a series of short stories and comic books! I fell COMPLETELY IN LOVE with the characters and setting and AAA

But especially, what held tight to my heart was the narrative of this amazing writer and illustrator, @jillthompson , creating this whole fantasy world to make "friends with the scary side" and reveal that even monsters fear and can be your best allies ♥

I'm so glad I found her work, it keeps inspiring me to reach that level of love for storytelling and to never be afraid to show the themes and aesthetics that move us deeply!

PS Those last pics portray a grown-up Hannah Marie based on Miss Thompson's concept art she showed in one of the books.
