Crystal and Niko assigning Charles and Edwin to specific jobs whenever there’s cooking occurring

Their inability to taste or feel temperature means they can’t do a lot of things but there are certain tasks that over time become Theirs, largely, to be honest, because the girls don’t want to do them.

Edwin grates the last part of the cheese (and anything else that needs grating/mandoline slicing/etc) because he has excellent control over his corporeality and can reliably hold onto the cheese without grating himself

Charles cuts all the onions (and other vicious alliums) because, well, it not like it’s gonna make him cry

Crystal’s thrilled when she realizes she can assign frying tasks to the ghost boys and never get burned by boiling oil again

Edwin says that Charles feels that it’s rather rude to make them prepare all of the food when they can’t eat any. The girls don’t particularly care.

(The boys don’t actually mind that much either. The actual food is only a tiny fraction of what's important about a family meal, after all.)

Just fucking end me, put me down. I can’t stop thinking about the zero hesitation in Sherlock’s voice when he stands up for Mycroft against their mother at the end of TFP. Sherlock and Mycroft are pretty much always arguing, or on different sides. And then he goes and stands up for him with NO hesitation and it fucks me up gooooood
