? Rant of the day.

I am learning to love myself but that is a hard thing to do. I really need to stop making excuses and go after things I want, but then I don’t know exactly what I want. My mind just races and switches lanes so frequently that it makes it hard for a task to get done. I figured that it’s just because I work with children of all ages which in turn makes my brain go from one activity or task to the other in 5 minutes, sometimes less than that. When I think about it on a deeper level, I think that I just need to figure out a way to calm my thinking and energy down.  

What do I want in life? What are the things that I want to accomplish? Do I just do things for fun, for work, for goals, for the future? I have so many questions but don’t have an answer. I told a friend last night that I don’t have anyone showing me direction of my life....now that I think about that, I think I phrased it wrong. He told me that I am a grown woman and no one should be telling me my direction, which makes sense but at the same time I feel as though I need someone to help me find what direction I want. Not necessarily a boyfriend or a friend but a therapist or a life coach. Life is hard and no one has mastered it, not even a life coach because life is a continuous evolution- however, people have mastered how to achieve happiness in life even if it’s for a moment.

Field trip to Honolulu Community College

In order to make my project as realistic as possible, I needed to go down to Honolulu Community College to gather vital information as well as visual data for my gorilla ad campaign.

HCC, is a place that educates mydirect target audience, 19-35yrs non-union workers. This one-stop strategic setting, trains the bulk of Oahu' up-and-coming construction, missionary, pipe fitter and welding Personnel. Just ripe for the picking of a union backed position.

My ad is going to feature several different 1920s era workplace construction scenarios where workers lives were literally hanging in the balance.

Back in 20s work was scarce. The Stock market crash, and the Great Depression really reeked havoc on all classes of life. If a job came along, and someone didn't want to take it because of the risky business...well, somebody else would.

Therefore, compromising were severely taken and blind eyes were often turn towards a safe working environment. This type of mental attitude forfeited the right to demand safer working conditions as well as the assurity making it home, in one piece, at the end of the shift.

In light of this, the whole premise of my campaign, is to ask the newly-trained non-union card holder construction workers, do they want a hazardous situation at work or do they want a situation that's set-up for their success?

The question is a rhetorical one, for we all know the answer to that one. Honestly, who in 2019 would want to work in 1920's working conditions and expose themselves to hazardous non-union working practices.

That would be the same equivalency as working the high-wire act in a traveling circus with no safety net below. In short, Union back positions means safety and protection. This occupational healthcare does three things: prevents, protects and provides benefits when a worker is on the job or at home on the couch.
