I am so excited for the live-action movie. I just worry how they’re gonna animate stitch and if they’re gonna pull a Sonic the Hedgehog incident.
They casted:
*Cobra Bubbles (Might be axed. Reading conflict reports)
Nani (There’s been issue with casting her due to her lighter skin tone but as far as I understand, many Polynesians are of varying tones, at least the ones I know, in an entire family. It can even depend on how much Sun exposure they get. I am not an authority but maybe I’m misunderstanding.)
Lilo
David
*Mrs. Kekoa (possible replacement for Cobra Bubbles)
Stitch (Supposedly original cast member will be voicing Stitch again)
Interesting to see people comparing Aang to David from Lilo and Stich. I mean, David was helpful and respectful of Nani. When she told him she wasn't looking for a relationship at the moment, he understood and backed off. No forced kisses, no violent, angry outbursts. He backed off gracefully and continued to accept their friendship for what it was. He was empathetic to both Nani and Lilo, who was struggling to find her place. And when he went to have fun with them, he considered what they wanted, not just his own idea of fun.
Meanwhile, Aang added to Katara's burden, but occasionally took her to ride the mail chutes in Omashu (which was actually pretty stupid. They could've gotten hurt. The postal workers would've had to deal with it. There would've been all this unnecessary paperwork). Just because Aang and David are both cheerful, it doesn't mean there's any comparison between them.
AHHH I didn't even consider Rotxo and Kiri until this page :,) he really did spend like 90% of his screen time worrying about her didn't he lol. I hope they at least become besties in the upcoming movies
I’m so happy I got to introduce you to the ship!! He truly did, even scenes I didn’t notice like this one where he introduced Kiri and Tuk to his spirit brother 😮💨
He was looking out for her through the whole movie, and wasn’t the bully who called her a freak as I initially thought. He was a Kiri fan from day one ~
I cannot believe that I'm gonna have to pick between Pacha and Chicha and Nani and David in ROUND ONE this is blasphemy
this was 100% not our intention. It just happened like that and we're devastated one of them will be out so early too. We had been so excited when each of them get submitted because they are some of our favorites....
The comparison of aang to David is funny because David is just...some guy. He's a close family friend. A good dude. They've probably been dancing around each other for a while. He asks Nani on a date and she says not now (because he likes her and he also knows she likes him. Which she does!) And he respects that. He's still her friend and supports her because he recognizes that Nani is not ready to have a romantic relationship. She's lost her job and is raising her sister and is about to lose her sister. She's a nineteen year old indigenous woman whose parents died suddenly and tragically trying to keep her sister safe and happy with her. There is no way going on a date takes precedence over keeping her family together. And David holds no ill will or anger towards her for softly rejecting him and doesn't pressure her or try to kiss her.
All things aang did! Katara told him there's a war and she's confused and doesn't want a relationship like that, and he kissed her! I do not see how people could say they are the same when they are not!
The power of cheerfulness, man. Aang is actually not that great of a person, but because he greets each beautiful new morning with a smile and a song, his worst traits get ignored
