"You're so beautiful…" You sigh as you run a finger down her nose to her lips. An aura shines off of Natalie that is like a rainbow of love radiating off of her. Her baby blue eyes stare into your face with a soft fondness. "God, princess, you are so fucking gorgeous."
She rolls on top of you on the bed, and you giggle as you wrap your arms around her neck to kiss her lips. It felt like heaven to touch her. It tingled your fingertips to feel her, like you were in her arms. The best place in the world. Natalie kisses you and lays her body weight onto yours, her pelvis against yours.
She rolls her hips against yours and sighs; she looks into your blown-out eyes and says as she rubs against yours deliciously, "You were born for me, do you feel it? We were meant to be here."
"Yes," You moan and kiss her lips sloppily as your hand claws into her shirt to let you feel her skin against your lips.
"Fuck, yes." Natalie whimpers as she rocks her hips and hitches when you roll back against her.
Earlier, you both hid out in your basement at one of your "best friend" sleepovers, and you took two grams of Shrooms together. It was gentle and felt natural in a way. The floor seemed to move with the small markings of its hardwood; the air seemed light, and touch felt eternal. You finally understood why religions were created from them as Natalie's pale hand slides under your pajama bottoms.
Her fingers curl your cilt gently and softly. The nerves in your body vibrate as her hand touches you like you were a god. Natalie's lips attacked your own, pulling your legs around her waist. She rocks you both as she plays with you gently.
You whimper into her lips. She nibbles on your lower lip.
"Who are you?"
"I'm yours, Nat." You moan softly to her, trying to stay quiet for your parents.
Natalie stares at you intensely, cornflower blue eyes piercing into yours. She was trying to remember this moment. She moves her two fingers inside of you and fills you up. There was friction from how tight you were for her, and you were already so wet when she touched your opening.
You gasp as your hands grasp the back of her head, fisting the bleached strains. She kisses your open mouth. Natalie starts to pound into your pussy with her two fingers, with the other pulling your pants off completely.
She pulls them off with a hushed chuckle, and she plunges back into you. You curl into her as colors and sounds melt into matter that only matters with the tingling vibration of your pussy.
You roll your hips to hers as she says, "I am never going to let you go-"
"Don't! Fuck- please don't-" You moaned softly into her ears as she kissed your neck. You feel an intense building in your stomach, and your legs start to tremble around Natalie's waist, "Imma cum-"
"Please! Please! Please!" Natalie begged as she picked up her pace. She pounded into your pussy with delicious wet sounds cheering her on.
"FUCK!" You groan semi-loudly; Natalie's hand snaps to your mouth to shut you up.
"Shh Shh," She whispers into your ear. She continued, "Quiet down, baby girl."

DIY Paper Coral Charm Peony
Tumblr media
When West Elm Seattle asked me to design a paper flower workshop for February 13th — the day before Valentine’s Day — I immediately thought of Leslie Knope’s Galentine’s Day celebrations on Parks and Recreation. I loved the idea of creating a fun event to celebrate female friendship, and no flower seemed like a more fitting mascot for Galentine’s Day than the coral charm peony. It’s big, bold, bright, and stylish. It’s everything that sad grocery store roses are not.
I brought candy, gals brought pals, and we had a blast.
Tumblr media
Project by Kate Alarcón:
In the interest of keeping the Galentine’s Day spirit alive year-round, I offer this tutorial. Order up some crepe paper from the wonderful Castle In the Air, invite some gals (and guys!) over, and whip up some peonies. (If you’d like to send one to a friend, but are more a paper flower admirer than a paper flower maker, I also have some finished flowers available in my shop.)
Finally, on the subject of wonderful gals: I’d like to give a shout-out to the very talented Natalie Lynne, who was the first flower maker I ever saw create a peony seed pod in this way. Check out her beautiful work on Instagram (@a_bloom_time)! —Kate Alarcón
A Note about the paper:
This peony is made up of layers of different weights and colors of crepe paper. The heavy crepe gives it most of its structure, while the fine and doublette crepe help it to look more delicate. If you’d like to try different weights and colors of crepe, don’t worry about layering them in exactly the same order. But some combination of heavier and lighter crepe will help to recreate the structure and texture of these. With the exception of the moss green from Papermart, I’ve used the color names from Castle in the Air to make ordering easier.
Tumblr media
You will need:
-Fine crepe (30-60 gram) in corals and reds for the petals, and orange or yellow for the stamens. I’ve used “Raspberry,” “Red,” and “Orange” from Castle in the Air.
-Heavy crepe (160 or 180 gram) in corals, reds, and pinks. I’ve used: “Peachy Pink,” “Candy Apple,” “Pink Pansy,” and “Burgundy” from Castle in the Air, and “Moss Green” from Papermart.
-Doublette crepe in “Light/Dark Salmon”
-Aleene’s original tacky glue
-Stem wire (18 gauge, cloth covered)
-Template (download here)
Tumblr media
A note about grain:
The grain of the crepe paper runs parallel to the roll or fold. Crepe paper stretches horizontally, but not vertically, so you will almost always cut petals with the grain, placing the template so that the tiny wrinkles in the paper run up and down the template, not across.
Creating the center:
Use template 1 to cut a small rectangle from the red fine crepe. Use your scissors to round the upper corners so they aren’t too sharp. Gently stretch the top edge of the rectangle. Dot a very small amount of glue on the lower two thirds of the rectangle, wrap it loosely around the stem wire so that the top third extends beyond the tip of the wire, and then scrunch the lower two thirds closely to the wire.
Tumblr media
Cut a ¼” strip 10” long across the grain of your green crepe. I’ve used “Moss Green” from Paper Mart, but any medium green would be fine. Dab small dots of glue down the strip and attach it to the top of the wire, on top of the coral rectangle. You’ll wrap this piece around the wire to create an elongated ovoid shape. To achieve this, you’ll need to wrap the strip up and down the top inch of the wire, making sure that more of the layers end up in the middle.
Tumblr media
Start wrapping from the top, holding the strip at a 45-degree angle to the wire. When you’ve covered about an inch and a half of the tip of the wire, start wrapping back toward the tip of the wire, again holding the strip at a 45-degree angle to the wire. When you reach the midpoint of the section of the wire you wrapped on the way down, hold the strip at a 90-degree angle and wrap the middle several times, creating a kind of doughnut around the mid point. Once you’ve got a nice, thick middle, continue wrapping toward the tip of the wire. Make one more pass up and down the pod to create a fairly smooth covering for your pod. This time, you don’t need to stop to thicken the middle. Snip any extra strip. Spread out the pod frill so that it’s not too compressed.
Repeat to create 2 more seedpods.
Cut a ¼” x 10” strip across the grain of the green crepe and dot with glue. Hold the three stems together using the strip to wrap them tightly from just below the pods to about three inches down the wire.
Stamens:
Using template 2, cut a rectangle from orange or yellow fine crepe. The short sides of the rectangle should run parallel to the grain of the paper, while the long side of the rectangle will go across the grain. Fold your orange rectangle in half horizontally, so that the two long ends line up. Unfold. This crease in your unfolded rectangle marks how far down to cut the fringe.
Now you’ll fold the rectangle in the opposite direction twice to create four layers, so that it takes fewer cuts to make the fringe. Fold it vertically so that the two shorter ends line up. Fold in half again, so that the two short ends line up with second fold. Your grain lines should be parallel to the folds.
Make a series of parallel cuts (about 1/8th inch apart) across the top edge of the rectangle to create a fringe. The cuts should stop at the crease you made when you first folded and unfolded your rectangle (this line is also marked on the template). Working in sections, gently twist the fringe in one direction, untwist and gently straighten with your fingers. Its fine if a few of the stamens fall off in the process.
Tumblr media
Unfold the rectangle, and dot glue along the bottom edge beneath your fringe cuts. Wrap the fringe loosely around the stem twice so that the bottom of your cuts is just below the seedpods. Snip off any excess. Scrunch to adhere the paper tightly around the stem.
Cutting the petals:
The peony is made up of five rows or rounds of petals that radiate out from the center. The petals in each row are a different color and shape. The first and last rows are heavy crepe, which will stretch out much more than the lighter weights, so these templates are narrower.
For each row, I’ve listed which template to use, which paper to use, and how many you’ll need to cut to complete the row. Then, once you’ve made it all the way around, you’ll move to the instructions for the next row.
If you choose different paper for a variation of this peony, just be sure to match the heavy crepe templates with the heavy crepe.
Optional: I’ve found that substituting a bright bluish pink petal in heavy crepe (such as “Pink Pansy”) adds a nice highlight amongst all the coral. I use template 5 and make two of these pink petals. I like to insert one in rows 2 and 3, fairly close to each other. You’ll still want the same total number of petals for that row, so you’ll be substituting a petal, rather than adding an extra.
Row 1: template 3, 6 petals of light coral heavy crepe (“Peachy Pink”) Row 2: template 4, 6 petals of coral fine crepe (“Raspberry”) Row 3: template 4, 6 petals of doublette crepe (“Light/Dark Salmon”) Row 4: template 4, 7 petals of red fine crepe (“Red”) Row 5: template 6, 8 petals of dark pink heavy crepe (“Candy Apple”)
Tumblr media
A petal from each layer before and after shaping.
Shaping the petals:
To create the cupped shape of the peony petals, hold the center of the upper third of the petal with two hands, between your thumbs and sides of your index fingers. The goal is to stretch the inner part of the petal, while leaving the rounded outer edge unstretched to create a little bowl. For the petals that are lobed, or heart-shaped, cup each lobe and then the area under the lobes. The fine crepe will only cup slightly, while the heavy crepe will give you the nice, dramatic cups that give the flower its structure.
Tumblr media
Attaching the petals:
Dot glue along the bottom of the petal and apply just below the seedpod.
Tumblr media
You’ll be able to feel the ridge where the pods end and the wire begins. Always push up into that ridge when you’re applying petals; this will counteract the tendency for the petals to gradually drift down the wire, creating a cone shape. Apply the petals evenly in rounds around the center. The precise degree of overlap is less important than having them evenly distributed around the flower.
Tumblr media
The calyx:
Use template 7 to cut three shorter calyx pieces and template 8 to cut three longer calyx pieces from the “Burgundy” heavy crepe. Apply the shorter pieces evenly around the base of your peony, just as you did the petals. Apply the longer pieces so that they fall between the shorter pieces.
Tumblr media
Wrapping the stem:
Cut a “Burgundy” ¼” x 12” strip across the grain and dot glue up and down the strip. Wrap the stems, covering the bottoms of the calyx, just underneath where the seedpods meet the wire, and then all the way to the bottom of the stems. This may require a few strips.
Tumblr media
Finishing touches:
Curl back the long pieces of the calyx by scraping them between your thumb and the blade of your scissors, as though you were curling ribbon. Gently spread out any seed pod frills that have been compressed, and arrange the fringe so that it’s all standing up and evenly spaced. Straighten any petals that have been mussed, and use your thumbs to reshape any petals whose cups have been collapsed.
If you’d like a looser peony, stick your fingers between the first two layers down to where the petals meets the seedpods and gently spread, working your way all the way around the flower. Repeat for each layer.

vro0m’s rewatch - 132/310
2014 Bahrain GP
Ok. Here’s two notes :
this is a long one, but it isn’t THE long one, THE long one comes later in the season
this is long because it is the best race I’ve watched in my life so far. Yep. It might not seem like it in written form but really you should watch it because it was unbelievable.
Also TW crash, I’ve made one gif, but everybody was completely fine, it’s just very impressive. I also put a TW in the review before the GIF just in case.
Mercedes is decidedly on top, but this time it's Rosberg who has the upper hand.
Lewis says the car is a joy to ride and he's happy he could put it in the front row with Nico. He's pretty confident about the race. He says Sakhir is very technical especially with the wind and the temperature dropping throughout the race.
Quali report. Hulkenberg topped Q1 but ended up 11th. Seb's turbo failed, he's 10th. He says he doesn't wanna blame it on that as he failed to extract more of the car. Daniel qualified in third position but as you may remember he carries a 10 place grid penalty from the last race's unsafe release, so he starts 13th on the grid. Bottas and Perez are ultimately 3rd and 4th. Lewis was fastest in all three FPs but his first Q3 lap was messy and Nico was ahead. Lewis then also messed up his second run with a massive lock up in the first corner. So Rosberg is on pole.
Uhhh so… TW weight/weight loss talk for the next paragraph, I guess. (I will not write down any specific number but read at your own discretion.)
There's loads of talk about the weight limit needing to be raised (not surprising) so Ted went ahead and made a segment about it because the teams are asking drivers to lose so much weight it's getting dangerous. JEV actually had to go to the hospital between the two first races because of dehydration and feeling weak from a weight loss program he underwent right before the start of the season to get his weight down closer to his teammate Kvyat’s. Ted explains the loss of speed depending on the weight compared to the teammate if he's lighter, the impact on the center of gravity, the use of ballast that can make one go quicker, etc. Then he went ahead and asked a number of drivers their weight vs their teammate's. I'm surprised that they answered. It's sensitive information. The lighter ones say it's possible to be lean and healthy (which, yeah, easy to say when you have the genetics on your side) and the heavier ones say it sucks to be heavier. The weight difference between Lewis and Nico comes down to grams, which isn't the case of most of the others. Lewis fully understands though what it means for those who are heavier than their teammates, it's a serious issue. Also I'm quite surprised to see that the drivers' weights are really variable. Some are much much heavier/lighter than others. Anyway.
End of TW.
There's an interview with Bernie that I'm not gonna watch. He's not happy about the new engines. Who fucking cares.
There's also an interview with Niki Lauda. It's about the history of the sport but Natalie Pinkham still asks about Nico and Lewis' relationships. Currently they are pushing each other forward but doesn't he think they might implode (🥴)? Niki says it's funny she asks him today because they're both on the front row. He says that morning he read a German newspaper that said that they're both very egocentric and that Nico wouldn't invite Lewis to his wedding in August (it’s a rumor, I wonder if he was there in the end or not?). So he thought he should maybe worry a bit. But actually they get along very well, there's no hate like with Vettel and Webber, he says. "The basic is okay," he says, "but I was just at the briefing this morning and we told them basically watch the first corner and they both nodded and didn't even hear us so there is very good and big competition between the two. Which I like. Because we can let them race free, but in the end, they both have to finish." He says it's going to be a very interesting race this weekend. He says he was also egocentric and still is and it bothers the management but that's what makes it interesting. They know their worth.
It's Jenson's 250th GP.
Okay it is time.
Formation lap…
Oh no… Lewis took a long time leaving his box, should I worry? Then behind him Perez gets overtaken, he was able to leave the box with a delay as well… It makes me nervous for the start.
And they're racing!
Rosberg immediately goes defensive towards Lewis, but he takes the lead in the first corner! But Nico strikes back into turn 4 and they are wheel to wheel again. Behind them it's quite messy, loads of lock ups. JEV has a puncture. At the end of lap 1, then, it's Lewis, Rosberg, Massa (up 4 places), Perez, Bottas, Jenson, Alonso, Hulkenberg, Raikkonen (down 4 places) and Seb for the top 10. JEV apparently said of Maldonado on radio : “this guy tried to kill me”. At the front, Nico is not dropping back. He's less than half a second behind Lewis. Hulkenberg overtakes Alonso for P7. Lewis sets a couple of fastest laps that drop Rosberg out of his DRS zone. Nico's engineer says he is saving more fuel than his teammate, "but continue to save". Aka we will attack later. Ted says it's unexpected to see Lewis go flat out so early on because it's the opposite of what he'd want to do with his tyres. The FPs runs showed they need to be very light on these tyres at the start of their stint to extend their life expectancy. Interestingly as he says so, Bono tells Lewis to look after his front left as they seem to have a little more understeer than the others. Perez is closing on Massa and the podium. Rosberg is told he has to go longer on his tyres according to the strategy. Daniel runs wide attacking Magnussen for P11 and almost gets overtaken himself by Kvyat in the process. Ted says Lewis is complaining of the left front AND rear now. He thinks he has too much front grip which they can fix in his next pit stop. But Ted wonders if his engineers might be looking to change their strategy to match Rosberg's, who's on a two-stop strategy. As he says, when you split your strategies, the only thing you're sure of is that you're gonna get it wrong with one of your cars. That's 10 laps.
Jenson overtakes Bottas, they're both under pressure from Hulkenberg. And he overtakes Bottas as well. Daniel attacks Magnussen again, for P10 this time. And this time he gets it right. Perez overtakes Massa for P3. Alonso pits. Sutil is in the grass. Very slow. He has a puncture but he still tries to get away actually. It happened in contact with Bianchi. Raikkonen pits. Seb says his DRS does not work. Then it does. Massa has pitted as well at some point. Daniel is half a second behind Seb. On the radio, he says they're losing time. "We need to decide what to do." Drama. Seb is told to please let him go through, as he is quicker than him. And he does. Hulkenberg pits. Rosberg is less than a second away from Lewis again. Seb pits. Perez pits. AND ROSBERG OVERTAKES LEWIS FOR THE LEAD! BUT LEWIS IMMEDIATELY FIGHTS BACK AND HE HAS TO YIELD. Oh it's tense. Nico yells something over the radio but I can't understand what. Let's see the replay. Rosberg gets the inside line… ahhh it's Lewis' genius. I'll gif that so you can see.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rosberg is on the inside so Lewis goes wider on the outside so he can turn in quicker and get back in front. We also see what Nico was mad about. In doing so, they got real close, or might even have made slight contact.
Tumblr media
But that's racing, I mean. Here they go again! Same thing! Lewis first moves towards the inside. Rosberg follows him. Then Lewis goes back towards the outside… they both lock up! Lewis is back on the inside while Rosberg is on the outside, but he's slightly ahead this time… he's ahead, he's ahead, he keeps the inside line. But now Lewis gets the slipstream, he tries to go round the outside but it's too much. He moves back towards the inside at the exit of the corner. They're wheel to wheel in the straight! Ohhh it's uncomfortably close, careful! LEWIS HAS THE INSIDE LINE! HE'S BACK AHEAD! Holy shit, that's good! And Lewis gets to pit first. Phew. That makes it 20 laps.
Rosberg is told to use the DRS to push hard for two laps. Lewis is out in P2. In the meantime, Hulkenberg and Perez overtook Alonso, who is now P7. The journalists are still debating what strategy the two Mercs might choose. Jenson overtakes Raikkonen for P8. Rosberg gets called in… he's out behind Lewis, and they're on split strategies indeed, Nico being on mediums and Lewis being on softs. Bottas overtakes Massa for P3, and Hulkenberg is not far behind. Valtteri says he'd like to box now. He goes in. It's a very close battle for Massa against both Force Indias now. Perez overtakes Hulkenberg for P4! Hulkenberg complains that he was pushed off. In the front, Lewis is pulling the gap to Rosberg, but is he doing it quickly enough? Jenson says his DRS isn't working. The fight for P3 is still on. Daniel attacks Raikkonen but he locks up. Massa and Perez are wheel to wheel! Perez is ahead! Now it's Hulkenberg coming up to Massa… and he's ahead as well! But he makes a mistake and Massa comes back at him in the straight… but he can't make it. Man, that's a lot of good racing.
It's lap 30, Daniel is attacking Raikkonen again. Nico is told the pace of the primes vs options is closer than expected. Now Bottas is coming behind Daniel and Raikkonen. He overtakes Daniel and right as they get to the corner, he's close to Raikkonen but it's like he can't brake and instead of turning he moves aside and goes wide. He would have collided with the Ferrari! Did Raikkonen brake early? He loses a place to Daniel. On the radio, he says "what is he doing?" but on the replay it just looks like he went too deep. His engineer answers "I don't know, did he push you off the track? Let me know what he did we'll get straight to Charlie." Lewis is still stretching that gap, little by little, parsimoniously. Daniel overtakes Raikkonen for P7, and Bottas is again right behind them, they're wheel to wheel into the next corner. Raikkonen has the inside line but they both lock up! They both have the DRS in the straight… but Bottas is on the inside and quicker. He's ahead. And then a few minutes later, he also overtakes Ricciardo, while Raikkonen is in the pits. Bono : "okay Lewis, we're safe on fuel, so no more lift and coast, no more lift and coast." But Lewis answers : "I heard you man, I'm looking after my tyres!" He's 9 seconds clear of Rosberg. Massa overtakes Ricciardo. Perez and Seb are in the pits. Seb's stop wasn't good. Perez overtakes Alonso for P8. And a Caterham has stopped off the track. Hulkenberg pits. Jenson pits. Daniel pits. Seb gets ahead of Magnussen in P10. Seb overtakes Maldonado for P9. Ted says Bono answered to Lewis something like okay Lewis, as long as you have it under control. Raikkonen overtakes Ricciardo but Ricciardo fights back. It's for P12, at the moment. He also overtakes Magnussen. Massa pits.
It's lap 40. We're getting close to the conclusion now. Let's take a second to review the situation. Lewis is in the lead ahead of Rosberg. Then it's Bottas, Perez, Hulkenberg, Alonso, Jenson, Seb, Ricciardo, and Massa. The Mercs are the only ones in the top 10 to have only pitted once so far. And there's a crash!!! It's Gutierrez taken down by Maldonado. Man what happened, none of his wheels seem to be standing at the correct angle. Bottas pits, there might very well be a safety car, there's debris in the track. Let's see. HOLY SHIT. OH HOLY SHIT. How do I even describe this to you.
Maldonado gets out of the pits, and finds himself wheel to wheel with Gutierrez in the next corner. They touch as they turn and Gutierrez is launched up into the air. I don't even know. Like. I pressed pause trying to explain it to you moment by moment and right then, Maldonado is exiting the corner and Gutierrez' car is facing the wrong way UPSIDE DOWN IN THE AIR. Can you picture that? I might gif this honestly it's so shocking, but also I saw Gutierrez exiting his car and he's perfectly fine. The car comes crashing back down, Gutierrez still upside down, then bounces the right way back up, facing the right way again. No wonder the wheels are destroyed. On the radio, Gutierrez just says " woahwhat was that?" But like. In a way calmer more surprised tone than I would have used. Ah holy fuck we even get Gutierrez’ on-board. Unbelievable sight. And mind you they STILL don't have halos then.
TW crash gif
Tumblr media
End of TW
In the meantime both Mercs pitted. The Safety Car comes out. Now Rosberg is right behind Lewis on softer tyres. I hate that shit. And Magnussen pulls over. That's a terrible situation for Lewis. Before the safety car comes in we hear "Lewis it's Paddy, there's 10 laps left to race, can we just make sure we bring both cars home?" then he says the exact same thing, word for word, to Rosberg. Rosberg says OK. We didn't hear Lewis' answer. Brundle and Crofty think it means "don't run into each other on the way". Ted thinks it means finish in the position you're in (don’t race each other essentially). The Safety Car is about to come in and we're about to find out. Here we go.
Hulkenberg attacks Perez, they almost took each other out. And Rosberg attacks Lewis indeed. They're wheel to wheel into turn 4… Lewis keeps the lead, for now. Maldonado is handed a 10 seconds stop and go penalty. Seb overtakes Jenson for P6. Daniel overtakes Jenson for P7. 10 laps to go! That's gonna be a tense ending. Rosberg is still all over Lewis' rear. Lewis says he's got no power!!! Bottas overtakes Jenson for P8.
It's Lewis, Rosberg, Perez, Hulkenberg, Seb, Daniel, Massa, Bottas, Jenson, and Alonso in the top 10.
9 laps to go, Lewis sets the fastest lap of the race! But careful, the DRS is now enabled and Rosberg is still less than a second behind. They're both already 6 seconds clear of the others! Damn this Mercedes was a work of art. 8 laps to go. Now it's Nico who sets the fastest lap! The gap is 0.894. RICCIARDO OVERTAKES SEB! SEB COMES BACK AT HIM! Neither of them will give up! Nico is only half a second behind Lewis now! On the radio, Seb says he's really slow in the straight, he's not happy. Alonso overtakes Jenson for P9. 7 laps to go. It's a three way fight between Hulkenberg and the two Redbulls for P4, they are only 0.3 seconds apart. There's debris on the track, in a really bad spot! Seb is now chasing Daniel very closely. 6 laps to go. NICO ATTACKS LEWIS AND HE'S AHEAD NO HE'S NOT LEWIS HOLDS THE INSIDE LINE IN THE NEXT CORNER, AND AGAIN ROSBERG ROUND THE INSIDE, THIS TIME HE'S FASTER AND GETS AHEAD IN THE STRAIGHT BUT LEWIS CLOSES THE DOOR LEWIS IS STILL IN THE LEAD and Rosberg has to fall back behind him, phewww… Remember that Rosberg is on the softs and Lewis on the mediums, what a crazy defense. But here we go again because Nico has the DRS. 5 laps to go. NICO MOVES TO THE INSIDE JESUS THAT WAS CLOSE BUT LEWIS MOVES BACK TO THE INSIDE IN THE CORNER LIKE HE DID EARLIER AND HE'S BACK AHEAD I don't have words for that, it's so impressive, what a driver he is. The Mercedes pit wall is STRESSED. So am I. In the meantime, Ricciardo got ahead of Hulkenberg for P4. Bono tells Lewis he can use overtake on the exit of corners now where he needs it. That's gonna be a very needed little extra then. He might still win. Seb locks up and almost collides with Hulkenberg. Lewis is managing to put some slight distance between him and Rosberg. Thank god. 3 laps to go. There's a 4 way battle for P5 now between Hulkenberg, Seb, Massa and Bottas. 2 laps to go. Jenson slows down, but he's still going. He's heading for the pits to retire. MASSA SUDDENLY ATTACKS SEB FOR P6 HE GETS AHEAD DOWN THE INSIDE BUT SEB JUST SWIPES PAST HIM AGAIN IN THE NEXT CORNER. It's the final lap! Lewis is a second clear of Rosberg. Ricciardo is closing on Perez for the podium. Bottas is closing on Massa.
But it's the end of the race!
LEWIS WINS, it's a Mercedes 1-2 again! Perez just about keeps his place on the podium in front of Ricciardo.
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah
Damn what a race, what a race. Bono : "Nice work there, Lewis! Nice work there, mate. That was… it was all going there for a minute mate." Lewis thanks them for the work that weekend. "We didn't really have the pace on this side of the garage but… still held on to it. Nice work on that, thanks."
I mean. Sure Rosberg was quicker but they both clearly had the pace on everybody else though lol. Amazing.
Damn that's really one of the best races I've ever seen.
Ted asks Lauda how his nerves are and if he enjoyed that. He answers that was close racing. "If anyone complains that this is boring, they're idiots," he says. Ted asks what Paddy meant when he told them to bring it home then. Niki says it meant bring it home, but they didn't listen to him anyway (lol). He reiterates that letting them race is the most important decision from his point of view. Out of their cars, Nico and Lewis pretend-fight.
Tumblr media
Delicious.
Tumblr media
(pats pats pats)
In the cool down room, Lewis jokes around with Perez about fighting Nico. Nico gets there and hugs him from behind.
Tumblr media
Lewis laughs : "That was freaking close!" The Mercedes representative jokes that he got gray hair from it (it's Aldo Costa, I see later). They hug again. They're so exhilarated.
Tumblr media
Lewis tells him he thought it'd be like their race back in Italy where he got him right at the end. He thought he would do that to him today.
Tumblr media
I can't describe the electricity in the air, the excitement, they are on the edge, but so full of joy. Makes you wanna write fanfics, I get it. The mix of happiness and tension.
Tumblr media
The adrenaline. The way they keep patting each other and hugging each other at a loss for words. Phew.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(sorry for the very weird blue light on these)
Of course it's rose water here so it doesn't spray on the podium. They don't play for too long. Perez is the first driver standing on the podium for Force India since Fisichella in 2009.
It's the 900th GP in history. Lewis thanks the team for getting them on the podium. He agrees it was an exciting race and Nico did a great job and he was very fair. He was relieved to cross the line. Nico says he strongly dislikes being second to Lewis lol. But it was a great race. They put on a massive show. But he'll take the win next race.
Paddy Lowe says he didn't feel all that great during the last half hour of the race but they agreed at the beginning of the season that they wanted them to be able to race. They showed everybody that the new cars work, and they're not boring. He clarified that indeed his message wasn't coded team orders but just "don't forget, you’re professionals, we just want both cars home”, it didn't mean don't race. (I find Paddy Lowe very funny because he always seems like he's somewhat drunk lol, it's just the way he moves and talks, it's funny to me.) Simon talks about the pace. Once they didn't have to worry about fuel anymore, he says they were gaining 3 seconds a lap over the others. Paddy says he didn't notice that "to be perfectly honest". He smiles. "I was looking at something else."
They find Niki. "Enjoyed that or was your heart in your mouth?". He answers very decidedly : "No! I enjoyed it! Because it is the best race I think so far and really I have to say all this bullshit that was talked about racing in general, the complaints about noise, the complaints about fuel, it's all rubbish! Look at this race, one of the best races I have seen in all my life!" He says it wasn't just Mercedes either. "The overtaking in the back, everything was perfect." He says Lewis was faster, even with the harder tyres, and he truly has to congratulate him. "I will hug him as soon as he turns up!"
They talk with Anthony (not Hamilton) who apparently also works as a sim driver for Mercedes. He says he doesn't take any credit for it lol but also he talked to some of the guys on Rosberg's side of the garage and they're a bit gutted they didn't win. There's a lot of competitiveness going on. He also says he agrees with Niki that Lewis did a supreme job on his tyres because we saw Jenson, who was also on the mediums, dropping back dramatically because he couldn't bring them up to temperature after the Safety Car went in. That's a very good point.
Simon asks Toto if he remembers ever seeing a race like that. Toto says "it's not taxi driving eh?" He says it could have gone wrong but they showed class, and fairness, and raced hard. Simon says "yes it proves a couple of points, doesn't it?" Toto thinks it's funny you get such a race when F1 is being the most criticized, talked down, lots of politics going on. They are all very excited lol it's funny to watch. They talk of course about the decision to let them race. He says the best possible moment to remind them that their rule is to race fair and square is during the safety car. "Did they need the reminder?" – "... Maybe yes!" Anthony asks if in all honesty there was a moment when he thought they were gonna touch. He says yes, turn 3 or 4 at the start, and he thought "please not the whole race like this". Then the race panned out and he got quieter. Anthony asks if they consciously put them on different tyres to try and defuse the situation. Toto says no, they had calculated that both strategies ended up a couple of tenths apart at the end of the race, so it wasn't clear which one was the best. Simon asks what went on when he joined the pit wall during the race, what was he saying to Paddy Lowe. Toto says he just couldn't survive inside the garage. They show him a couple of laps of the end of the race, ask him what he thinks. He says of course Lewis did a great job defending but also you have to remember (and it's an excellent point) that Nico is the championship leader. It's all about bringing the car home, he has more to lose. They say what was nice to see was the hug they shared after all that. Toto says he didn't see it and they joke that they were surely doing it just for him and he didn't even see. He says the battle wasn't only the drivers but also the engineers. There was a lot going on on the radio. He's happy because that's how it should be.
It's Lewis' 24th win. He's tied with Fangio. He chuckles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He can't believe it, Fangio is one of the greatest racers of all. He's at a loss for words.
Tumblr media
It's been an incredible day, a really tough day. Of racing against Nico, he says "it was killer", to the max, defending on these tyres.
Tumblr media
When he was on the options and Rosberg on the mediums he didn't have great pace. He says he's struggled this weekend especially in quali with his braking system that had to be changed, but even then he really struggled during the race.
Tumblr media
Before the safety car he had a good lead and hoped it was enough but Rosberg was so quick at the end. He says trying to stay ahead of him in the DRS zone was so hard. He chuckles. "When I came across the line my heart was so relieved!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She tells him his bosses are saying it was one of the greatest races they'd ever seen and asks if he agrees. He says he'd have to watch it but it felt like it from inside the car. He says when you get overtaken, you have to calculate how you're going to get back and he did it perfectly every time. (Yes he did, damn.) But, he says, as he was on the softer tyres he was expecting him to get by at some point.
Tumblr media
He thanks again the team for the info they gave him, and the hard work at the factory. A 1-2 is a great result for everybody and let's hope there's much more success in the future (foreshadowing…). Jenson goes by behind him and congratulates him for the win.
Tumblr media
She asks how it ranks as far as his wins. He says "I don't know, I mean… 24 race wins I…" he chuckles. "I can't believe I've had 24!" (My sweet boy if you knew what the universe had in store for you…)
Tumblr media
He says each one is different and special. It feels different every time he wakes up and gets in the car and starts the race and finishes. He also says he can't get too excited, there's a long way to go. It seems like Nico was a bit quicker this weekend so he needs to figure out why. She asks how liberating it feels that they can race each other. He hums. (He didn't expect that question.) He says it was very close, it felt very close. The team will decide how close it was. But Nico raced very well, and hopefully he himself raced well enough to stay apart but hopefully they'll have many more races like that in the future (I’m yelling). She says it's good for him and good for the team but mostly good for the fans. He says yeah, that's what motor racing is all about. And sure you need different tyres to make it happen, and the safety car was "a real… pain" (he focuses not to swear, clearly, lol) "but I hope whatever caused it (and he seems to realise) I saw someone flopped, was it Gutierrez?" he asks, more seriously all of a sudden. "Yeah, was he okay?" The Mercedes PR says he was fine. He says things happen for a reason as far as safety cars coming out. He guesses that's what formula 1 needed : "a big serious race like that with some overtaking for once." He's just so relieved he was able to stay in the front.
Nico is really not as happy as it first seemed. He says he's very disappointed because he was quicker today. But very exciting race and he hopes everybody in front of their TV enjoyed it. The fight was intense, really aggressive, so close. He did well. They have good momentum with the team, it's great to have the opportunity to win every race. And he mustn't forget even at a hard time like this (bro you're being so dramatic, you're P2 and still leading the WDC) that he's still leading the championship (precisely). She asks about their playful fight in Parc fermé, did he not fancy getting him in the ribs, quick jab? He says, kind of between his teeth, that he swore big time at him in his helmet. "Thankfully you didn't hear that." He sounds like he's joking but he has the straightest of faces. I don't know yet if he's just deadpan or if he's really pissed.
After their photo, the mechanics pop more champagne (I mean supposedly it's rose water right? But this time it does spray so… maybe not). At first Lewis tries to keep them from drenching him but then he gives up and just smiles as they pour it over his cap.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ted says in the press conference Lewis, "absolutely buzzing", said it had been very long since he had had a real race. He said for the first time in years he'd been able to use his karting skills and get back to real basics. Ted says it was refreshing to hear given what people seem to think modern F1 is about. He says Lewis wouldn't say whether it was one of the best races he's driven but he did say it was certainly one of the greatest feelings he'd had. Ted explains Rosberg got that pace because he looked at Lewis’ data from Malaysia to understand how he won. And Lewis basically said now he's gonna have to do the same. Rosberg said he knew everybody would think Paddy's message was team orders but it was in fact not necessary at all because they already know they can race each other and not collide (famous last words 🙃). They said there was always a margin and they knew what they were doing.
Lewis said he thought he'd “been got” about 9 times and Nico said he thought he'd got him about 9 times.
Phew. That was a nice one!

Poppi Soda Faces Class-Action Lawsuit Over Claims of Prebiotic Health Benefits
By Mai Nguyen, Eastern Michigan University Class of 26’
June 11, 2024
Tumblr media
The soda brand Poppi first appeared in 2018 when their founders made a pitch on the ABC show “Shark Tank” [2]. The brand was able to secure a deal with Rohan Oza for a 25% stake, in exchange for $400,000 [2]. The company marketed the product as a prebiotic soda, specifically, a combination of agave inulin, apple cider vinegar, and fruit juice [6]. As stated on their website, Poppi claims to be a better alternative to regular soda [4]. However, in recent weeks, Poppi has been hit with a class action lawsuit that alleges the soda cannot provide the health benefits it claims to produce.
According to Natalie Rizzo, a registered dietitian, prebiotics are fibers that serve as food for the healthy bacteria in the digestive system, known as probiotics [5]. Probiotics help certain bodily functions, such as digestion, absorbing nutrients, and immune functions [5]. Rizzo also states that probiotics can play a vital role in preventing and treating diseases such as: IBS, UTIs, cystic fibrosis, and certain cancers [5]. As mentioned above, Poppi claims to have added prebiotics to their drinks, such as inulin [3]. Inulin is a starchy fiber that may stimulate healthy bacteria in the gut, regulate metabolism, help people lose weight, improve insulin control, improve constipation and relieve depression and anxiety [3].
Despite the importance of prebiotics, Rizzo states that the health benefits of a prebiotic soda, such as Poppi, is still heavily debated by scientists [5]. First, the term prebiotic was coined in 1995, so the research on the topic is new and ongoing [5]. Additionally, since there are a variety of prebiotics, it may be difficult to know which strains are most needed and beneficial for an individual [5]. Also, experts such as Rizzo and nutritionist Amy Keating also state that individuals should seek out prebiotics that naturally occur in foods such as vegetables, yogurt, sauerkraut, tempeh, and other fiber-rich foods [3] [5].
As mentioned previously, Poppi is currently facing a lawsuit over its claims of gut health. Plaintiff Kim Cobbs alleged that the soda lacks any kind of gut health benefits [1]. According to the complaint, Poppi only contains two grams of prebiotic fiber, which is too low to produce significant health benefits [6]. This means that in order for a consumer to benefit from drinking Poppi, they would have to drink up to four cans a day [6]. As per the suit, if a consumer were to do this, the sugar content in the beverage would offset most, if not all, of the reported benefits [6]. By drinking enough Poppi to experience gut health would mean consuming enough cane sugar to damage the microbiome; essentially, these drinks are just sugared water [6]. Currently, the Plaintiff is suing the company for violating the California consumer protection laws for false enrichment, as well as alleging that Poppi can be bad for your health [1]. In a study published by the journal “Nutrients,” ingesting as many as 2.5 grams of prebiotic supplements, including agave inulin, can cause a gas build up and cause abdominal discomfort [1]; while 40 to 50 grams can lead to diarrhea [1]. Other studies, such as one published in the journal “Microbiome,” states that an excess of agave inulin over time can lead to significant changes in the microbiome, which can lead to immune system disruption [1].
Even though the lawsuit has raised some questions about Poppi, some experts still say that the drink can be a healthy alternative to regular soda. For example, registered dietitian, Amy Shapiro, states that in a can of prebiotic soda, there is about four to five grams of added sugar; on the other hand, in a can of regular soda, there can be upwards of forty to fifty grams of added sugar [1]. Also, Maya Feller, a registered dietitian and nutritionist, says that even though she doesn’t consider Poppi to add any extreme nutrition to her overall day, it can be a good alternative to regular soda [1].
The founders of Poppi have since made a statement to address the lawsuit: "We are proud of the Poppi brand and stand behind our products. We are on a mission to revolutionize soda for the next generation of soda drinkers, and we have diligently innovated to provide a tasting experience that millions of people have come to enjoy," also, “We believe the lawsuit is baseless, and we will vigorously defend against these allegations” [6]

What Is The Healthiest Cheese? The No. 1 Pick, According To A Dietitian
Cheese is Irresistible, But is It OK to Eat Every Day and Which Variety is the Healthiest?
— March 7, 2024 | Source: Today | By A. Pawlowski
Tumblr media
There Are 2,000 Varieties of Cheese. Getty Images
Cheese can be healthy in moderation, but Americans love it in big amounts: We eat 42 pounds of cheese per person per year — an all-time high, according to the most recent government figures and the International Dairy Foods Association.
Sliced, shredded, melted, crumbled or baked, it’s irresistible on its own, added to a sandwich or part of a satisfying meal like pizza or lasagna. It can even be eaten for dessert.
Cheese has a rich culinary history, with humans making it for more than 4,000 years, the International Dairy Foods Association notes. There are now 2,000 varieties, so which is the healthiest cheese?
Is Cheese Unhealthy Or Healthy?
It’s complicated, TODAY.com has previously reported.
Early studies supported a link between high saturated fat intake from dairy and a higher risk of heart disease. But full-fat dairy may not be as unhealthy as once thought, according to more recent research.
A 2023 review of studies called cheese “nutrient-dense” and found it has “neutral to moderate benefits for human health.”
“There is absolutely a place for cheese in the diet,” says registered dietitian Natalie Rizzo, nutrition editor for TODAY. “The main deterrent for eating cheese is that it has saturated fat, but it also has other beneficial nutrients, like protein and calcium.”
For example, a 1-ounce slice of cheddar cheese has 5 grams of saturated fat, which is a little more than a third of the amount you should have in a day, she notes. And cheese is salty, so it’s not great for people with high blood pressure, she adds.
But that same slice has almost 7 grams of protein, a nutrient that helps with satiety and muscle growth; and it provides 14% of the daily value of calcium, which keeps bones healthy and strong, Rizzo explains.
Plus, cheese comes from milk, which has other nutrients, like vitamin A and B vitamins, she adds.
Overall, there’s no need to avoid cheese — unless a person has an allergy or another reason to skip it — but it’s best to treat cheese as an add-on to a meal, rather than a main course, Allison Arnett, a lecturer of nutrition sciences at the University of New Haven, tells TODAY.com.
“There are other sources of protein and calcium that are not high in saturated fat or sodium,” Arnett says.
“The bottom line is: For those who need to decrease sodium, especially people with high blood pressure, avoiding large portions and eating (it) less frequently is the most beneficial way to enjoy cheese.”
Which Cheese Is Healthiest?
Cottage cheese is probably the healthiest cheese, Rizzo says. “It’s lower in saturated fat and higher in protein than most other cheese,” she explains. Rizzo recommends reaching for the low-fat variety, noting it still tastes good.
A Half-Cup Serving of Low-Fat (2%) Cottage Cheese Has:
90 Calories
12 Grams Protein
2.5 Grams Fat
5 Grams Carbohydrates
125 Milligrams of Calcium (10% of the Daily Value)
Cottage Cheese is a less salty option than other varieties, and you can buy even lower sodium versions of it, Arnett says.
Top Healthiest Cheeses
Runners up in the healthiest cheese category are generally soft cheeses like ricotta or mozzarella, which are made from low-fat or skim milk, so they tend to be lower in saturated fat and healthier overall, Rizzo says.
Just be mindful of the sodium content when purchasing these varieties, Arnett adds.
Hard cheeses like Parmesan, cheddar and Swiss are naturally lower in lactose so people with lactose sensitivities might benefit from choosing those products, Arnett says.
But generally, any and all cheese is fine in moderation and the nutrition content varies only slightly among the varieties, Rizzo notes. Even soft cheeses like brie, which might seem more decadent, aren’t any less healthy than other cheese, she notes.
Is Low-Fat Or Fat-Free Cheese Healthy?
Most low-fat cheeses don’t taste very good because the fat is removed from the milk before processing, and this removes a lot of the flavor, Rizzo says. Personally, Rizzo says she'd rather skip cheese altogether than eat the low-fat variety.
Oftentimes, fillers are added to accommodate the lack of fat, Arnett points out. And when people try to substitute their favorite cheese for the low-fat option, they often end up eating more of it to make up for the lack of fat “thus negating the swap to begin with,” she says.
Is It OK To Eat Cheese Daily?
If you stick to a 1-ounce serving size of cheese, which amounts to about ¼ cup of shredded cheese, it can have a place in your diet, Rizzo says.
“If somebody is in good health and wants to have a small portion of cheese every day, they can do so,” Arnett adds.
Note that some American cheese — the super melty, yellow sliced processed variety — is made from mostly water, so it has fewer nutrients than other cheeses, Rizzo points out.

schreibt Dr. Natalie Grams in ihrer Spektrum-Kolumne.” (GWUP)
