Imposter syndrome is something that REALLY kicks my ass on the regular. My sense of failure rears its head all the time, and I try to keep it to myself for the reasons Dandy illuminates here. I was wallowing the day I wrote this, and was avoiding talking to anyone. When I realized WHY I was avoiding it, this strip idea came to me. That said, long-time fans of Dandy & Company will recognize the log as the most common stock background from that strip. I had to REALLY cheat to get my enormous, 6'2" self in this shot. If I were to stand up here, I would be WILDLY out of proportion from the normal way I draw myself. lol

Daily Comic Journal: February 17, 2022: "That's A Dozen Done."
There’s not much more I could add here. I looked back 365 days prior to this day to see what I wrote on this comic’s 11th anniversary and here’s what I wrote then: As I say in this comic, I initially drew these comics just for myself. Usually a very fast drawing with sloppy lettering (if you’ve ever gone back in my archives to read the comics I drew in the first few months of 2010 you can see…

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I'll be in Chicago for the annual C2E2 comic and pop culture convention! I'll be there all 3 days from 1 to 4 at the NATIONAL CARTOONISTS SOCIETY booth and I am beyond excited! That said, this strip is the beginning of what I HOPE will be a really fun little 3 week story arc. If you're unfamiliar with my PAST work, that sneaky little guy at the bottom is Dandy Q. Dog, the star of my previous webcomic, Dandy & Company. He's been a bit indignant since his strip was canceled, so for the next few strips, he's taking over while I'm away. Hope you enjoy. ;)

Sergio Live!
This is big news! El Maestro himself, the incomparable Sergio Aragonés, is going to be doing a LIVE STREAM drawing event tonight to benefit the National Cartoonists Society Foundation. Hosted by the folks at 4C Comics, Sergio will be taking on-the-spot commissions live during the stream. I believe this is the first time he’s ever done something like this… you usually have to go to one of the few…

"As a tribute to NASA's Space Shuttle Program, artist Brian Basset created this commemorative drawing depicting his characters, Red and Rover, racing alongside the space shuttle as it lands for the final time later this year. In 2004, Basset was honored with a one-man show of his space-themed comic strips at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. On July 26, 2005, an original drawing by Basset commemorating America's return to flight launched aboard shuttle Discovery on the STS-114 mission.
Basset created the strip in 2000 about a boy and his dog, who dream of one day going into space. Twice nominated by the National Cartoonists Society for Best Comic Strip of the Year in 2003 and 2010, Red and Rover appears in more than 160 newspapers worldwide and is syndicated by Universal Uclick. Previously, Basset worked as an editorial cartoonist for The Seattle Times."
