But worry not, because Mother Nature has provided us with some amazing ingredients that can nourish and repair our hair from within.
In this article, we will explore a range of natural remedies that will help you bid farewell to split ends and hello to healthier hair. From the goodness of coconut oil to the nourishing properties of avocado, we will uncover the secrets to strong and shiny locks. Dive into the world of natural hair care and discover simple at-home treatments that won't break the bank.
Don't let split ends sabotage your style. With the right natural remedies, you can rejuvenate your hair and restore its natural beauty. Say goodbye to those pesky split ends and hello to lustrous and healthy locks. Get ready to flaunt your hair with confidence!
Common causes of split ends
Split ends occur when the protective outer layer of the hair, known as the cuticle, starts to wear away, leading to fraying and splitting of the hair shaft. There are several common causes of split ends, including:
1. Excessive Heat Styling: Regular use of heat styling tools such as flat irons, curling irons, and blow dryers can strip the moisture from your hair, making it prone to split ends.
2. Chemical Treatments: Harsh chemical treatments like perming, straightening, and coloring can weaken the hair structure, making it more susceptible to splitting.
3. Lack of Proper Hair Care: Neglecting your hair care routine, such as not using conditioner or brushing your hair aggressively, can contribute to split ends.
4. Environmental Factors: Exposure to harsh weather conditions, pollution, and UV rays can damage the hair and lead to split ends.
5. Genetics: Some people are more prone to developing split ends due to their hair type and genetic predisposition.
By understanding the causes of split ends, you can take proactive steps to prevent and treat them. Let's explore the importance of preventing split ends and how natural remedies can help.
The importance of preventing split ends
Preventing split ends is crucial for maintaining the overall health and appearance of your hair. Here's why:
1. Hair Length Retention: Split ends can travel up the hair shaft, causing breakage and preventing your hair from growing longer. By preventing split ends, you can retain length and achieve your desired hair goals.
2. Hair Strength and Elasticity: Split ends weaken the hair, making it more prone to breakage. By preventing split ends, you can maintain the strength and elasticity of your hair, reducing breakage and promoting healthy growth.
3. Hair Appearance: Split ends can make your hair look dull, frizzy, and unkempt. By preventing split ends, you can improve the overall appearance of your hair, making it look shiny, smooth, and healthy.
Now that you understand the importance of preventing split ends, let's delve into the benefits of natural remedies for hair and how they can help combat this common problem.
Benefits of natural remedies for hair
Natural remedies offer numerous benefits for hair care. Unlike commercial hair products that often contain harsh chemicals, natural remedies are gentle on the hair and scalp. Here are some key benefits of using natural remedies for split ends:
1. Nourishment and Moisture: Natural ingredients like coconut oil, olive oil, and honey are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that nourish and moisturize the hair, preventing split ends and promoting hair health.
2. Repair and Strengthen: Natural remedies such as avocado, egg, and yogurt contain proteins and nutrients that repair and strengthen the hair shaft, reducing the appearance of split ends and improving overall hair quality.
3. Scalp Health: Many natural remedies have antibacterial and antifungal properties, promoting a healthy scalp environment and minimizing factors that contribute to split ends.
4. Cost-Effective: Natural remedies are often readily available in your kitchen pantry or local grocery store, making them a cost-effective alternative to expensive commercial hair products.
5. Environmentally Friendly: By opting for natural remedies, you reduce the use of harmful chemicals that can harm both your hair and the environment.
Now that you're aware of the benefits of natural remedies, let's explore some effective natural remedies for split ends that you can easily prepare at home.
Natural remedies for split ends
1. Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is a popular natural remedy for split ends due to its moisturizing and nourishing properties. Apply a few tablespoons of warm coconut oil to your hair, focusing on the ends. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes or overnight before washing it out with a gentle shampoo. Repeat this treatment once a week for best results.
2. One effective natural remedy for split ends is Onion Hair oil infused with Black seed and Jaborandi. This unique combination harnesses the nourishing properties of onion, renowned for its sulfur content that promotes hair strength and reduces breakage. Black seed oil, rich in essential fatty acids, adds moisture and helps prevent split ends by improving hair texture.
3. Jaborandi extract, known for its revitalizing properties, contributes to overall hair health. The onion hair oil with black seed and jaborandi not only targets split ends but also promotes hair growth and enhances the natural shine of the hair. Regular application of this potent blend can be a beneficial addition to your hair care routine, providing a holistic approach to addressing split ends and promoting healthier, stronger hair.
These are just a few examples of natural remedies that can help reduce and prevent split ends. Experiment with different ingredients and find the ones that work best for your hair type and condition. In addition to natural remedies, essential oils can also play a significant role in treating split ends.
DIY hair masks for split ends
Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts that offer a range of benefits for hair and scalp health. Here are some essential oils that can help combat split ends:
1. Lavender Oil: Lavender oil has soothing and nourishing properties that can help reduce split ends and promote hair growth. Mix a few drops of lavender oil with a carrier oil such as coconut oil or jojoba oil, and gently massage it into your scalp. Leave it on for a few hours or overnight before washing it out.
2. Rosemary Oil: Rosemary oil stimulates hair follicles, promoting hair growth and reducing split ends. Mix a few drops of rosemary oil with a carrier oil, and massage it into your scalp. Leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing it out. Use this treatment once or twice a week for best results.
3. Peppermint Oil: Peppermint oil has a cooling effect that can soothe an itchy scalp and improve blood circulation, promoting hair health and reducing split ends. Mix a few drops of peppermint oil with a carrier oil, and apply it to your scalp. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes before washing it out.
Remember to dilute essential oils with a carrier oil before applying them to your scalp or hair to avoid any adverse reactions. Additionally, it's important to pay attention to your overall nutrition and make sure you're providing your hair with the essential nutrients it needs to stay healthy.
Essential oils for split ends
A balanced diet plays a significant role in maintaining healthy hair. Here are some nutritional tips to support hair health and prevent split ends:
1. Protein: Include sources of high-quality protein like lean meats, fish, eggs, and legumes in your diet. Protein is essential for strong and healthy hair growth.
2. Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Incorporate foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as fatty fish, walnuts, chia seeds, and flaxseeds. These healthy fats help nourish the hair and reduce inflammation in the scalp.
3. Vitamins and Minerals: Consume a variety of fruits and vegetables to ensure you're getting a wide range of vitamins and minerals that support hair health, such as vitamin C, vitamin E, biotin, and zinc.
4. Hydration: Drink plenty of water to keep your hair and scalp hydrated. Dehydration can lead to dry and brittle hair, increasing the risk of split ends.
In addition to incorporating these nutritional tips, making certain lifestyle changes can also help prevent split ends and promote overall hair health.
Nutritional tips for healthy hair
1. Gentle Hair Care: Avoid aggressive brushing and towel-drying, as they can cause breakage and contribute to split ends. Use a wide-toothed comb or a brush with soft bristles to detangle your hair gently.
2. Heat Styling Protection: Apply a heat protectant spray or serum to your hair before using heat styling tools. Use the lowest heat setting necessary and limit the use of heat styling tools to prevent excessive damage.
3. Regular Trims: Schedule regular trims every 6-8 weeks to remove split ends and prevent them from traveling up the hair shaft.
4. Protective Hairstyles: Opt for hairstyles that minimize friction and tension on the hair, such as loose braids, buns, or gentle updos. Avoid tight hairstyles that pull on the hair, leading to breakage and split ends.
5. Satin or Silk Pillowcase: Switch to a satin or silk pillowcase to reduce friction and prevent hair breakage while you sleep.
By incorporating these lifestyle changes into your routine, you can protect your hair from damage and reduce the occurrence of split ends. However, if you find that your split ends are persistent and severe, it may be time to consider professional treatments.
Lifestyle changes for preventing split ends
While natural remedies and lifestyle changes can work wonders for split ends, there are certain professional treatments that can help address severe cases. Here are some options:
1. Hair Mask Treatments: Visit a salon for deep conditioning treatments that specifically target split ends. These treatments often involve the use of professional-grade products and advanced techniques to repair and seal the hair cuticle.
2. Protein Treatments: Protein treatments can help strengthen the hair and reduce split ends. These treatments typically involve the application of protein-rich products that penetrate the hair shaft, improving its structure and appearance.
3. Trim or Haircut: If your split ends are extensive and unmanageable, it may be necessary to get a trim or haircut to remove the damaged hair and start fresh.
Consult with a professional hairstylist or trichologist to determine the best course of action for your specific hair needs.
Professional treatments for split ends
Split ends can be a frustrating and common hair problem, but with the right natural remedies and hair care practices, you can combat them effectively. From nourishing hair masks to essential oils and nutritional tips, embracing natural remedies can help you say goodbye to split ends and hello to strong and shiny locks.
Remember to be consistent in your hair care routine and give your hair the attention it deserves. How to Apply Onion Oil for Hair Growth: A Comprehensive Guide
Onion oil has become increasingly popular in recent years as a natural remedy for hair growth. It has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine as a natural remedy for hair loss and promoting hair growth. Rich in sulphur, onion oil is believed to strengthen hair follicles, nourish the scalp, and promote hair growth. The sulphur in onions stimulates the production of collagen, which can improve hair growth and thickness. The antibacterial properties of onion oil prevent scalp infections and dandruff. However, many people may be unsure of how to properly apply onion oil to their hair for the best results. In this article, we will discuss how to apply onion oil for hair growth, as well as some tips and tricks to make the most of this natural remedy.
What is Onion Hair Oil?
Onion hair oil is a natural hair care product made by infusing onion juice with carrier oils such as coconut, almond, or jojoba oil. It is an affordable and easy-to-use remedy for common hair problems such as hair fall, thinning, and dandruff.
If you want to experience the benefits of onion oil for hair growth, here's how to apply it:
Choose high-quality onion hair oil for hair growth
When choosing an onion hair oil, make sure to select a high-quality product that is free from harmful chemicals and artificial fragrances. Look for an oil that contains pure onion extract and natural oils such as coconut oil or jojoba oil, which nourish and strengthen the hair.
Perform a patch test
Before applying onion oil to your scalp, it is important to perform a patch test to check for any allergic reactions. Apply a small amount of the oil to the inside of your elbow or behind your ear and leave it on for 24 hours. If you experience any itching, redness, or irritation, do not use the oil on your scalp.
Massage the onion oil onto your scalp
Using your fingertips, massage the onion oil onto your scalp in circular motions. Focus on areas where you are experiencing hair loss or thinning. The massage will stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles, promoting healthy hair growth.
Leave the oil on for at least 30 minutes
For best results, leave the onion oil on your scalp for at least 30 minutes, or overnight if possible. You can also wrap your hair in a warm towel or shower cap to help the oil penetrate the hair follicles more deeply.
Wash your hair with a mild shampoo
After the allotted time has passed, wash your hair with a mild shampoo to remove the onion oil. Avoid using hot water, as this can strip the hair of its natural oils and lead to dryness and breakage. Use cool or lukewarm water instead.
Repeat the process twice a week
To see noticeable results, make sure to use onion oil regularly. Aim to apply the oil to your scalp at least twice a week. Consistency is the key when it comes to promoting healthy hair growth.
Onion oil can be an effective natural remedy for hair growth when used properly. By choosing a high-quality product, performing a patch test, massaging the oil onto the scalp, leaving it on for at least 30 minutes, washing it off with a mild shampoo, and repeating the process twice a week, you can experience the benefits of onion oil for healthy, luscious locks. Remember to be patient and consistent, as hair growth is a gradual process that takes time.

🤔Why Going Without Shampoo and Conditioner Can Give You Thicker, Stronger Hair?
🙅‍♀️Shampoo and conditioner can strip your hair and scalp of natural oils, which can lead to dryness, breakage, and other hair problems.
🌱Natural methods can also clean and nourish hair without striping natural oil nor exposing you to harsh chemicals.
Here are 2 best natural methods to wash your hair, without striping natural oils :
1️⃣Apple cider vinegar rinse :
– Mix 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water and pour over your hair, massaging your scalp. Rinse with water after a few minutes.
ACV balances pH, removes buildup, and stimulates hair growth.
2️⃣Baking soda wash :
– Make a paste with 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda and water, then massage it into your hair and scalp. After rinsing, use vinegar.
Baking soda promotes hair growth, removes oil, and adds volume.
🤷‍♀️What are the natural remedies for better hair growth?
- Onion juice
- Egg mask
- Rosemary oil
I have been using cold pressed hexane free castor oil with Rosemary oil to rub into my scalp and sleeping with it like that at night. I am seeing a difference.
The I'm using 👇
½ cup castor oil
6-7 drops of rosemary oil
Massage into the scalp about 2 hours before bed, cover the pillow with a towel and after 2 months I'm seeing positive results.
I do this every other day and I don't use shampoo or conditioner, I use Amish soap with all natural ingredients. 🤔

May Prompts (27) Jealousy
Tumblr media
The Luckiest Girl in the World (chapter27)
Summary: Rosie and Timothy travel the Greek islands. An intriguing experience on Santorini, puzzles and irks Rosie immensely. When Timothy doesn't react to her liking, there's only one option on how to move forward.
Twenty-Seven Years Old
To celebrate my birthday and my new fulltime job as a political risk analyst, Timothy and I went island-hopping in Greece. Liwia and her girlfriend had done it last year, and it appealed to us both. Having nothing but the flights planned, made me feel a bit reckless but it was quite freeing as well.
The only thing we’d decided on was to stick to the Cyclades and we started our journey by taking a ferry to the small island Antiparos. Several people who let out rooms stood waiting on the quay as we disembarked. An elderly and friendly looking man caught our attention, and the room he had to offer was more than sufficient.
Our first breakfast is one I’ll remember forever. The small restaurant was situated by the seafront where the fishing boats came in with their catch. Faded coloured fishing nets hung to dry in the sun, the scent of salt weaving its way to our nostrils.
Freshly pressed orange juice and the fluffiest omelette I’d ever come across, ensured the perfect start of our day.
We hired a moped to explore a little. The trip took us through a landscape of olive trees and flowers we didn’t have in the UK. Our destination was the famous cave with stalagmites and stalactites. The stalagmite at the entrance is apparently 45 million years old, the oldest in Europe.
We were warm and a bit sweaty after standing out in the sun, while we waited for our guide. The air inside was pleasantly chill and got even colder as we descended the 411 steps to the heart of the cave. It was a mesmerising sight, and knowing that this was the nature’s own doing, left me amazed and humble.
At a cosy taverna we ate the best Greek salad to date. The ripe tomatoes paired with the salty feta cheese, olives, onions, the rich olive oil and the homemade bread, almost made me religious for a moment.
The beach close to our quarters, was small, secluded and blessedly free of crowds. We had taken a boat to a famous beach the day before, but we’d barely found a free space to lay down our blankets, so this felt like paradise in comparison.
Another short boat ride away was the bigger island Paros. We took the bus to the other side of the island. I don’t remember anything else from that trip than the hours we spent in Naoussa. Several boats painted in bright colours lay bobbing in the water close to the restaurants that encircled the bay. It may sound simple, but it was the most beautiful view, and I couldn’t take my eyes off it. We sat there for hours, eating seafood and drinking Greek white wine.
***
So far, it had been a “normal” vacation, or tedious as Papa would’ve called it. That all ended when we sat foot on Santorini. Getting a room was easy enough, and relieved of our heavy rucksacks we went for a stroll in the main street of Fira. Every other shop was a jewellery shop, and the necklaces displayed bore the resemblance to what pharaohs and Cleopatra wore. Heavy, massive and ridiculously expensive. For each shop they seemed to grow bigger and uglier. We had quite a laugh at that.
The most peculiar thing happened at the restaurant we had lunch. It was a terrace with a breathtaking view over the Aegean Sea. We’d decided to stay for a while and ordered more iced tea, making ourselves comfortable under the big parasol. We had both brought a book, and for a while we read in silence. A repetitive sound of paper being ripped, caught my attention.
An elderly woman had taken up residence at the table next to ours. She had short frizzy hair, more grey than brown now, her glasses were round with a white frame. The summer dress she wore had big patterns in green, red, white, and orange. On her feet were white flip-flops.
“Stop staring,” Timothy whispered.
He startled me and I looked annoyed at him, but averted my eyes and took a sip of my drink. The moment the sound of ripped paper reached my ears again, my eyes were drawn to the spectacle at the other table.
The woman read a book too. A paperback. The curious thing I almost couldn’t fathom, was that whenever she finished a page, she ripped it out and placed it in a pile under her plate. Why would anyone want to do such a thing? What if you needed to go back some pages to look up something you’ve missed. It could never be read by another person, since she apparently left pages wherever she sat down to read. It bore no logic, and it irked me.
“Aren’t you curious about why she does it?” I whispered to Timothy.
“Not particularly. My book is far too interesting, and you won’t get an answer unless you ask her, and I guess you aren’t inclined to do that,” was his phlegmatic answer.
Timothy’s ability to turn off the world and disappear into his reading or writing, was admirable, but now it almost made me jealous of his book. I wanted to speculate with someone, solve this odd conundrum. There would be no more reading on my part after this, so I took out my phone instead.
Want to solve a mystery for me?
Pray tell! I’m bored to death and about to shoot the wall. P
Also available on AO3
Friendly warning: after 25 years the mystery is still unsolved. Don’t be shy about suggesting what the meaning of this appalling behaviour could be 🤭

My updated hygiene routine
Tumblr media
Pay attention to the signs your body is telling you. If you notice a certain food is causing you hives, it is likely an allergic reaction, or if your body has more odor than usual then it is time for a detox.
You do not have to sacrifice eating certain foods because of body odor! It is obvious that onions or garlic will cause a smell. Just make sure to wash your armpits at least twice before getting out of the shower.
Baths are your best friend if you have persistent body odor!!!
Try to make it a goal to bathe at least 2-3 times a month. The steam helps with sweating out the toxins. If you are sensitive to hotter temperatures you can take a warm bath, it does not need to be hot.
When taking a bath use natural products to avoid a UTI. Also understand your sensitivity to scented products. I use rose oil, rose bath salts, and any soap I have available at the time.
Body scrubs or bath salts are good for gentle exfoliation.
INVEST IN A BATH NET!!! It is a life saver I tell you, my back acne has cleared up especially and my skin feels much softer. You will not regret it!
Buy a showerhead filter. Helps with filtering out hard minerals from tap water.
Pat dry your skin instead of dragging the towel across your face and body.
All you need is deodorant, soap, body scrub/salts, and lotion. Nothing else. Oils and body butters is just if you want the extra moisture, shine, & smell.
Show everyday from head to toe pls…
Only wash the outside of your vulva with soap (Pubic area and labia majora) and the inside of your vulva with water.
If you’re not comfortable with washing your vulva with your hands, use a washcloth, avoid harsh exfoliators as well.
Use heavier shaving creams if your body hair is thick.
You do not have to shave everyday. Your skin would literally be raw if you do this. Wait at least 2-3 days before shaving again.
LEAVE THE COOCHIE ALONE IF YOU JUST SHAVED!!! Avoid scented products because it will irritate your skin + cause a uti.
Change pads at least 3-4 times.
Bring non scented flushable wipes with you in your bag for public restrooms.
Take your vitamins, drink plenty of fluids (water, juice, tea, etc), and eat fruits and vegetables to help with your ph balance.
Your body can respond differently to certain fragrances. Work with your natural scent instead of going against it.

 FILMING: NOT IN PROGRESS
Roman sat next to Heeseung as he was glued to his phone, watching random videos and ignoring her. Today’s filming felt a little off, Heeseung seemed to be forcing out his reactions and movements and it felt like something was wrong. During breaks, he would walk away and not even give her a glance. She doesn’t know why he was suddenly acting like this, since normally they easily messed around and would play games together even when the cameras weren’t rolling, but something was definitely off.
“Hey, Hee-” Roman began to say, just as Heeseung took out his earbuds and placed them in his ear. Another way of ignoring her.
She rolled her eyes and got up from her seat, moving away and nudging his leg in the process as she walked over him to walk into another room.
Heeseung felt guilty, he knew he was being unreasonable. He knew he was being immature but he couldn’t help it. He didn’t like hearing Jake was hanging out with her, let alone texting her. As selfish as it sounds, he wanted to gatekeep her and keep him all to himself. He watched as she disappeared into their shared ‘bedroom’, and he silently began kicking himself. Great, now he upset her. He just needed to get through the rest of filming for today and then he can go clear his head. She didn’t deserve to be treated this way when she didn’t even do anything, and he knew it was his fault.
FILMING: IN PROGRESS
“How did you learn how to garden?” Heeseung asked, the two of them were outside on the patio tending to their little garden.
“It just became sort of an outlet, a hobby. Key gardens a lot as well and he’s showed me a lot of things,” Roman said, as she helped Heeseung transfer some green onion stems to the soil for them to grow in the pot.
“Ah, I always forget how close you are with them,” Heeseung said.
“SHINee were the first group to be really kind to us, they really took us under their wing and Jonghyun taught me even more stuff about composing. I owe a lot to him,” Roman said, a sad smile forming on her face as she refused to meet his eyes.
“You don’t have to talk about that,” Heeseung said.
“No, it’s okay. I’m comfortable enough to talk about him, I’ll always talk about him. He deserves to be talked about,” Roman said. “I’ll make sure his name is never forgotten.”
Heeseung looked at her face, and gave her a silent smile, he reached up and removed a strand of hair out of her face. The two of them made eye contact and he leaned over and grabbed her hand, squeezing it. The warmth she felt go up her arm was unexplainable. She didn’t know why she always felt jolts of electricity every time they touched, but she didn’t complain. She just hoped he felt it too.
“There, it looks like it’s going to rain, we should finish up here and then make some dinner,” Roman said, picking up the tools and cleaning up around.
Heeseung followed suit, taking the things from her grasp and putting them away for her. Even when he wanted to be mad, things just came naturally for him. He wanted to be distant and not feel this way anymore, but he just couldn’t. It was like she was a magnet and he was drawn to her.
“What should we make for dinner?” Heeseung asked. “I’ll follow your lead, I don’t want a remake of last time.”
Roman laughed, remembering how Heeseung tried making Kimchi Jeon and managed to start a small fire with the oil and paper towels. He really wasn’t the best cook. Lucky for him, Roman liked to cook and she especially loved to do it for people. He realized her love language was gift giving and acts of service. She always came with things to give him behind the scenes and he started a collection in his dorm of the many things she had gotten him. Thinking about it now, he felt even more guilty with how he had been treating her when the cameras were off.
“We still have some tteokbokki and chicken, we can fry the chicken and make wings?” She suggested.
“Lead the way, sweetheart,” Heeeung said, saluting to her and she giggled at his antics.
He was still very adorable, even when he was being mean.
FILMING: NOT IN PROGRESS
“Good work, everybody!” Roman and the staff were saying their goodbyes to one another as she was removing her mic.
She looked over and saw Heeseung was staring at her, before quickly turning away and pretending to mind his business. Usually he would come over and hug her goodbye, but this time he just got in his car without a glance, and she watched as he drove off without a word.
Just what on earth was his problem?
